The bread alone almost guarantees this place stays in rotation for me. Soft, warm, textured bread served with pesto oil and grated parmesan cheese. It's one of those small touches where you immediately realize the restaurant cares about more than simply getting food to the table quickly. I usually default to chicken parm at Italian restaurants, and theirs is genuinely good. But the spaghetti bolognese with meatballs is even better. Rich, flavorful sauce without feeling overly heavy by the end of the meal. Service has consistently been professional and relaxed, and the atmosphere hits a nice balance between "special occasion" and casual dinner out. I was originally introduced to this place by an old coworker. We didn't agree on much professionally, but they absolutely got this recommendation right. Really enjoyed my experience and food this visit. I love coming here and getting their carbonara and Pasta & Fagioli. They typically have great lunch deals, but I think they recently updated their menu and now some options are not available for the lunch deals. Lunch deal is everyday till 3pm. We ordered the: Bread $7 4/5 Pasta & Fagioli soup $10 5/5 Carbonara $21 (not including added chicken) 4/5 Sicilian Pizza $17 (medium pie) 3/5 Limoncello cake 3/5 Overall the food was great! The prices seem to be going up a little bit, or maybe it's cause they don't order certain lunch deals anymore. The Sicilian pizza meat had a really weird smell to me so I didn't eat it. Pizzas are more of a thin crust style. Our waiter this time was great! The prior time we had a waiter who kept eating when he brought the food out. When he would say what food items were what the food would come flying out his mouth which was super gross. So this time around we kindly asked for someone else. Our server, an older man was coughing without covering. Sometimes coughing into his hands and then serving. We also got crammed into a 6 person table when I made reservations for 7. They didn't really care that a reservation was made. They just slid two tables together when we walked in. Food was good but the coughing made the experience a little gross. read more

We have been here multiple times for lunch, but, tonight decided to try it for dinner. The restaurant was much busier than at lunch time; no wait required but only a couple of tables were open. This restaurant truly feels like the local restaurant that everyone looks as it is friendly with great food and great service and true ambiance. The portion sizes are large and we both brought home leftovers which will make one more great meal. The bread is homemade and wonderful. My friend and I came here and ordered some food, which was just absolutely phenomenal! The service was absolutely wonderful! The restaurant was very clean and very beautiful! The food was arrived very hot and fresh! The presentation was beautiful! I ordered the scallops (not pictured here) and my friend ordered the swordfish that came with mashed potatoes and a side of steamed spinach, which we both thought were phenomenal! We also ordered a side of octopus, which was a little charred, but it was still edible. The food also came with a side of bread with dipping sauce, and that was also very delicious!! I've come in here twice now, once for happy hour and once for a lunch date. I love that they have Happy Hour still and they have a crazy hour that starts at 3pm and goes to 4pm then another happy hour menu starts at 4pm. The first group I went with, we ordered one of everything on the happy hour menu. They had gnocchi, cheese bread, bruschetta, etc. To be honest the food was small and very bready for HH and I was not too impressed. But the drink specials were great value and I enjoyed the wine. The atmosphere here is very great, seems local, great vibes, repeat customers - so when I had a choice for a place to go for a date lunch, we came here and I'm very happy we did. We ordered lemon chicken with avacado on top of pasta and gnocchi with a meat sauce. Wow was the food AMAZING it was also filling! It was also great that lunch goes until 3pm. So we ordered the food and once 3pm started for crazy hour we got some wine to go with it! The restaurant itself is very appealing and charming. As a pizza connoisseur I thought the pizza was delicious, the pizza sauce is absolutely exquisite and the pizza itself, very cheesy. The service was alright. However, the water tastes like Florida water, for those of you who don't know it's not good so I got a Sprite, but somehow it tasted worse. I have lived by this place for YEARS and I had never tried it for some reason but ever since I've been back from Italy I've been craving vongole pasta and went with a friend. There is plenty of parking and it is a very cute place and decorated well. It was crowded on a Thursday night so you know it's good. We ordered the grilled octopus salad which was delicious ! I'm 7 months pregnant and all I wanted all morning was pasta. I just wanted chicken parm and soup and bread. I thought that wouldn't be a hard request. It started down hill when I called and immediately when someone picked up they said a quick greeting than "please hold." Fair. So I held. After 5 minutes I was wondering what was happening and if the restaurant was busy. Then 10 minutes pass and I'm convinced they forgot someone was on the line. Luckily I was already on the way, so I decided to swing by. I hang up. When I arrive I see a small restaurant but lots of empty tables. Now I'm a little upset because why put someone on hold if the restaurant isn't even busy? What was the point of the hold? No matter, like I said I really wanted Italian and this place had good reviews. I sit down to try to place a take out order and I find out the complimentary bread is $1.50 when you order take out and the soup doesn't come out any bread but has a fat price tag of $15 (lobster bisque). The waitress that was "helping me" would answer one question and then walk away so quickly I only had a few seconds to catch her attention. It's at this point, I'm done. I'm hungry, upset about the service and felt entirely dismissed. I love Italian food but despite all the good reviews, my experience upset me so much I'll be hard pressed to come back read more

We used to love this neighborhood restaurant but a recent visit greatly disappointed us. What we loved-- the bread... warm, crusty and so good -- but wished they served it sooner or with our drinks. Then we waited for our salad... 30 minutes later-- still no salad. Our server was busy and when I finally caught him-- he looked surprised and asked again about our order. He said he placed our order but somehow, the system might have erased it. Omg. Now we wait again and by this time... our wait is closer to an hour. Finally, the salad is served but I honestly feel that the roasted beet came from a can. I order roasted beets all the time in other restaurants... and this one was sliced thin and way too smooth to have even been roasted. Then the hubs ordered the Cinque terre special... and there was a strong not very pleasant odor. The taste was okay but the mussels gave off that not pleasant odor. Shrimp was overcooked. Maybe we should've returned it? I ordered the polpo affogato and loved my dish... until I got to the second piece of octopus. It was the head and not a tentacle. Ugh... gross...to say it was funky and unpleasant is an understatement. I truly loved the dish but that ruined it for me. I mentioned this to our server but was not acknowledged. We had the seafood pasta and octopus pasta. Very filling and delicious though the Kalamata olives with the octopus pasta was a bit on the salty side. I can't believe we came here for the very first time after living in Herndon for years. We have gone to almost every establishment in the shopping center and was always curious of this one as it was always busy on a Friday night and the weekends. This is definitely a place where the locals gather to eat delicious Italian food and see their friends and buddies for a fun evening out. The servers are so friendly and attentive and they know their patrons as many of them seem to be regulars. The hostess graciously fitted us in on a Saturday evening and service was spectacular. We like the variety of options in the kids menu and the affordable prices. Our kids enjoyed their butter pasta and rainbow pizza (in the shape of rainbow fish). My husband's bucatini carbonara was the favorite dish of the evening. The noodles were cooked al dente and the sauce was creamy, flavorful, and just absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed their seafood pasta where each piece of seafood was fresh and not tough to chew, including the calamari and mussels. Food and service was great. Food came out hot and every dish was so tasty. Even the bread basket was delicious. We had to stop ourselves so we wouldn't get full off the bread. I thoroughly enjoyed the flounder special. The fish had a nice crisp top with spinach and thin noodles. I finished the entire dish, so good. We love going here for Easter brunch because they have such a wide selection for everyone. Few recommendations we have noticed over the years. When we get meat at the carving station it's usually luke warm and the pizza is not under a heat lamp. If you want hot pizza you have to time it just right when they put out a fresh one. The omelette station, seafood selection, bread pudding, and large dessert selections are great. read more
