Dante's Ristorante was a pleasant surprise on our journey to find great food in NoVa. The outside ambiance was beautiful, with a large patio that will be perfect for when the weather warms back up. The inside was reminiscent of an old Italian style restaurant, both charming and unique. We were taken to our table promptly, about 10 mins before our actual reservation time. The small dining room we sat in was cozy and quiet, ideal for an intimate night with a loved one or friend. We were greeted right away and ordered cocktails while enjoying an assortment of breads. We started off with an appetizer; a tower made up of crab meat, tomato, avocado and balsamic reduction. It tasted fresh and was a great start to our meal. We ordered the special, a risotto dish with scallops and lobster sauce. The risotto was tender and the scallops were perfectly cooked. The lobster sauce added a nice flavor and creaminess to the dish. The lasagna was also a solid choice. It was stacked with thin, crepe-like noodles topped with a delicious meat sauce. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate temptation, made up of chocolate cake, hazelnut cream with a chocolate glaze. It definitely satisfied our sweet tooth at the end of the night. Overall, I would rate Dante's an 8.5/10 (which is a high score in my book) for ambiance, service and our meal. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

We enjoyed a fantastic meal at Dante's while visiting family in Great Falls. Attentive, personable servers. Quaint, comfortable setting. Nice size menu with a range of regular choices. as well as daily specials. I had the most delicious fettuccine with shrimp scampi. Thankfully, the shrimp was just perfectly cooked and light on the garlic. The homemade fettuccine was such a treat. Crème caramel dessert was on point. The cappuccino was an excellent punctuation mark in the whole evening. I'm already looking forward to returning.

After a day of meetings my CEO brought his direct reports to dinner to unwind . For many years I have not been a fan of Italian food but that has slowly changed so now I know what to order and enjoy. This restaurant is in Great Falls very close to route 7 and Reston. Slightly tucked away in a corner you have to drive around and in as we found out when we all called Ubers to take us back home. Very nice inside atmosphere we were provided a room for of us which provided an intimate setting with a bar. For appetizers we had the calamari, mozzarella, Torretta and of course bread and oil. With green olives. All very tasty . For main courses it varied from the sole special which I had and was awesome cooked to perfection. Others had the lobster tail , veal, lamb chops . All enjoyed their food. For dessert cannoli and Pannacciulli cotta. Wine of course which accompanied the meal. Very quaint inside and I have several pictures. A definite recommend .

Every December I look forward to our holiday party hosted at Dante's. My favorite part to this restaurant is the friendly and hard working staff. All staff members are passionate with their service and never forget to ask how we are doing. There's not a moment I don't get food or drinks offered. The environment is very cozy and fitting to the dishes. The LAMB CHOPS ARE TO DIE FOR; So perfectly seasoned and cooked at the perfect temperature. Lastly, I wish I had photographed their desserts, but the panna cotta is a dessert I've been dreaming of since I had it. The softest and creamy texture balanced well with the berry purée. I definitely see myself coming back and would love to take my family there. Thank you for another amazing experience! Shout out to our bartender that night for entertaining us and making all of my aperol spritzers.

Best pasta, ambiance and service. Was not impressed by wine and the music last night was not great. Overall 4 star and want to give it another shot

The restaurant itself is old school Italian with the drippy candles in wine bottles and dated decor. It could definitely use a facelift - and still maintain that classic Italian restaurant vibe. The food was the most disappointing part of the journey. Calamari that was chewy and not at all seasoned - clearly frozen and out of a bag and our meals were no better. I LOVE veal saltimbocca and get it whenever I can. The veal was thick, mozzarella wasn't fresh, and it was drowning in canned mushrooms. Nothing about our meal said fresh. We were leaving the next day for a quick trip so we did not take our leftovers home, but I can honestly say we wouldn't have even if we didn't have a trip planned.

I had this out of the blue chicken marsala craving and did a little research and decided to give…read moreCantina D'Italia a shot. I will start off by saying that I had low expectations given the track record of non-chain Italian restaurants I've tried since living in northern VA of which 85% have been terrible (remember I'm from NJ where Italian food should be the state food). But I said YOLO, crossed my fingers and ordered the marsala via GrubHub. The moral of the story is that I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED by Cantina D'Italia overall because the marsala was pretty tasty, spaghetti cooked almost perfectly, garlic bread with cheese perfectly seasoned and cheesy and they sent an added little unexpected bonus of a pretty side salad with a homemade vinaigrette and fresh Italian bread and butter! Oh and the portion was HUGE! Totally got 2-3 meals out of it. Cantina D'Italia has given me hope ... or I should say at least gave me an Italian restaurant I just might frequent and explore all the other menu options :)

They ran out of ranch and N/A prosseco. It is okay bc the food was good. We ordered the fried zucca chips. OVERLY SALTED. did not enjoy. The burrata was delicious. I would get that again. The chicken parmesan was delicious. but it was odd it came with mac and cheese ziti or some kind of cheese sauce. Usually you serve chicken parm with spaghetti and sauce? The Bolognese was delicious and same with the chicken pesto. My sister got a arugula steak salad. The steak was really rare and they didnt even ask how she wanted it cooked. the little gem caesar was good but it had way too much dressing. way too much. the dessert was delicious. butter cake was amazing! Our server made amazing recommendations and checked in frequently enough that we didn't feel forgotten or overwhelmed. Food came out piping hot, and silverware was replaced for each course. For the appetizer I would have to say that the octopus was my absolute favorite! The Char on the octopus mixed with the variety of flavors made it robust and so delicious! I highly recommend the octopus over any other appetizer at this point! The zucchini blossoms were perfectly fried and absolutely delicious. They were perfectly stuffed not to overwhelm, but to perfectly embrace the delicate nature of the blossom. For my entrée, I ordered the veal Ragu with peperdelle noodles. It was absolutely delicious and big enough that I had it for lunch. The next day is leftovers. They boxed the meal very nicely to go bag. The sauce was thick and perfectly balanced with a lot of flavor. The noodles were perfectly cooked and weren't sticky or overly chewy. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious! It was so moist and so light that I didn't feel overly stuffed when I left. We actually debated getting dessert because we were so full, but decided to go for it and I'm so happy that we did. During our dinner service someone had a birthday and we brought a dessert. Not only did they encourage everyone to sing, but they also brought out a beautiful dessert that had happy birthday written and some kind of cocoa or coffee powder. You can tell that thoughtfulness was put into every meal and effort was placed to make everything just perfect. I absolutely love the atmosphere of this restaurant. We watch the sunset over small old town Herndon and it felt very quaint. The old school setting of the restaurant mixed with that atmosphere was rather romantic and calming. Cocktails : Manhattan - top notch My sweet side piece - fun presentation with table side bubbles! Feels a bit like a fall drink. Warm spice. Very tasty and too easy to drink fast lol Apps: We got the baked shrimp and the beef carpaccio. Both outstanding and so flavorful. Just needed some bread to soak up the sauce in the baked shrimp. The lemon rind in the shrimp was a perfect compliment to the sauce and the carpaccio was perfectly seasoned and the thinnest slices I have ever had which made it delicate and delicious. Entrees: We got the sea bass and the short rib bolognese. Blown away by how good both of these were and so very different. The short rib bolognese had a rich but not heavy flavor with fresh pasta and a delightful velvety spiciness - not heat though. The sea bass was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked with a carrot ginger puree that was sublime with the spinach and fish. We loved both of these entrees. Really wanted dessert but sadly not more room which was better for our stomachs and our wallets. It's not a cheap endeavor here but worth the cost for a fabulous meal out and a very cool vibe.

A Modo Mio offers many food specials. For example, on Tuesdays, that's when we stopped there for…read moredinner, all their pasta dishes are 1/2 price. However, given that they ranked 32nd among this country's top 50 Pizza restaurants, I had to order a pizza. And I'll get to my pizza after I discuss some other things, because it all plays together. Also, during my visit, I kept drawing comparisons between this place and Pupatella, a local Neapolitan pizza juggernaut. The Big Question to answer is why A Modo Mio got a spot on the Top 50 while Pupatella didn't even make the cut. Access is easy, and parking is good. There are lots of spaces that wrap around the restaurant. That's in contrast to Pupatell, which has limited parking and where I always wind up using the Safeway lot across the street. The restaurant is clean and spacious, with plenty of comfortable seating. It also has a long, well-stocked bar where you can sit to enjoy a beverage or a meal. Pupatella doesn't have any of that. When you arrive, you're greeted by a host who shows you to your seat. A very short while later, a waiter shows up and does all the things waiters do. At Pupatella, you wait in line to place your order, then find an open table. TLDR: Your dining experience, outside of the food, is much more civilized and relaxing at A Modo Mio. The pie that earned their 32 out of 50 ranking was the Sicilia. But I ordered a 12" Casertana because I'm not crazy about eggplant and like sausage. The pie arrived a short while later, piping hot and loaded with sausage. The taste was sublime and delicious. My only complaint was that the basil was added before baking, and I prefer that herb when it's not reduced to ash. So back to The Big Question, is the A Modo Mio pizza *that* much better than Pupatella that it earned a spot amongst the Top 50 while the other one didn't even make the cut? Frankly, it's not. It is good pizza... possibly great pizza. But that's also true of the other place. What sets A Modo Mio apart from that other place, and the answer to the Big Question, is that the criteria for generating the Top 50 list included more than the pizza. It also took into account: - Hospitality and Service - Ambiance - Beverage Program. Beyond the pizza, A Modo Mio has those things in abundance, while the other place pretty much has none. TLDR: Comparing pizzas side by side, the two places are on par. However, if you take into account the entire dining experience, you will be much happier with your pizza here, as opposed to that other place or most other pizza restaurants in the DMV area.

There's so much parking in this area and they have indoor and outdoor seating. One of the things I really liked is that they seem to have specials three or four days a week if I remember correctly, I think Mondays are half off wine bottles. Tuesdays are 30% off the menu or maybe that was happy hour Monday through Friday and then Wednesdays is half off pizzas and then Thursdays was a sale on cocktails. One of the disappointing things right off the bat was that they took my 7:30 PM reservation and even texted me at 7 PM to make sure I was still coming at 7:30 but nobody ever mentioned that they would close the kitchen promptly at 8 PM, which meant my New Year's Eve dinner was extremely rushed. By 745 I already had to put in my drinks, appetizer, entrées, and desserts. Had I known that they were going to close the kitchen at 8 PM I either would have gone to another place or asked to change my reservation for an earlier time. At 8 PM most of the restaurant was empty, but they still had about four tables, including ours still filled along with two or three folks at the bar. Another thing to note is that they will automatically add 20% gratuity to your bill so please keep that in mind. As far as the food goes, I will say that the pizzas were really good and a small pizza comes with four big slices and a large pizza comes with eight big slices. Personally, I really enjoyed the dough and it was very flavorful, but slightly undercooked. They are known for their Neapolitan style pizzas, and it really shine through. I also got the opportunity to try the lasagna Bolognese, which came sizzling and what seemed to be a mini cast-iron pot. It was evident that this was pre-cooked though and reheated in this pot/pan but what was disappointing was that the bottom layers were sizzling hot but the top layers were room temperature and unfortunately, since the kitchen was closed, I didn't have the opportunity to get that taken care of. I would definitely come back and give them a shot especially because they have weekly deals, but it was truly a disappointment that they took a 730 reservation weeks ago, knowing that they intended on closing at 8 PM. As we were leaving, we got the opportunity to meet one of the restaurant partners and they were so kind; it's evident that this restaurant has regulars and I look forward to my next visit and seeing what it's like when I have more time to eat and enjoy.

Our server was friendly and efficient, which I appreciated. One small suggestion would be to offer a separate coffee menu when guests are seated, alongside the brunch menu, since I was not really looking for alcoholic or sweeter drink options. The food was thoughtfully prepared and overall very enjoyable. I ordered the Morning Market Board, which included a frittata, salad, and hearth bread. The frittata was simple with caramelized onion but still quite flavorful. The burrata paired nicely with the grilled bread, and I especially liked the grilled asparagus in the refreshing salad.
