We stopped by for lunch after the bluebells hike at Riverbend Park and Great Falls. The service was quick and place was quiet but filled up quickly for lunch time. The appetizer of hummus and hot pita was so yummy. All our dishes were good. I got the vegetarian delight 10" small pizza and they gave me a green hot sauce when I asked for hot sauce and it was perfect. read more

Delicious food. We wanted a bite after a hike in the Great Falls area and this sounded like a good place to try. There was plenty of free parking and we were seated immediately upon going in. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, with a very relaxed atmosphere. Everything on the menu looked so good so we started off with some appetizers, both of which were delicious. I loved the Shirazi salad, which was delicious and refreshing. The kashk e bademjoon had a great flavor profile and went wonderfully with the pita bread. For my meal I had the chicken shawarma, which was probably one of the best I've had. The chicken was so moist and flavorful, with just a hint of cardamom. My wife had the apple orchard salad, and son the gyro Greek salad. This place is a must-try. read more

What an adorable family restaurant. The restaurant has two walls of full glass that let the light into their small dining area. The outdoor dining area contains a few tables (allows dogs) and has a retractable covered awning to keep the rain and heat off. The service and food were stellar. Highly recommend! We were visiting the Great Falls Park and finished our hike at lunchtime. Car GPS recommended Village Grill only 8 minutes away. We tried it and were pleasantly surprised by the excellent, tasty food. The pizza was excellent and hot. One in our party had gyro wrap; she commented several times on the freshness of the ingredients. I thoroughly enjoyed the apple salad with delicious grilled chicken. The service was great. Food was good, but service was awful. Had to ask 3x for water. Ended up giving my water to my dog cuz she never brought water for my dog after I asked. I specifically picked this restaurant because it had outdoor seating that was dog friendly. Also it was very hot outside and they brought room temp water, which isnt what i expect from a restaurant. She seemed a bit sarcastic with me at the end, asking if i was the only one who wanted a water refill. It was 100 degrees out. The waitress did not seem to speak english very well and i had to repeat my order several times, i even pointed at the menu; she repeated it back to me but kept saying the wrong thing so i thought for sure i would get the wrong item but it did end up being correct. We had to grab the waitress' attention a couple times, she did not seem to be paying attention to our table at all. Its a very small restaurant so even if they had been completely full, it shouldnt have been difficult to manage the tables. I tried the Shawarma greek salad and it was awesome. Friends liked their food also. Simply because of the service i would not return. The outside seating area is only 4 tables but it is covered so the shade is nice. read more

Took my mother here for takeout, and the food was very good. But their menus on the window and also those on the counter which I ordered from showed $20 for "single" filet mignon kabob (plus rice in this case), and $24 for a "combo" kebob of chicken & lamb (also plus rice). Before I even address how silly-high this pricing is for a takeout kabob restaurant.. I was instead charged $24 and $30, respectively. I asked the cashier about this after being charged, waiting, and realizing the total charge was super high, and she told me, "I'm sorry, I have brought this up to the managers, but the menu prices are wrong." Where are the managers in all of this? As a restaurant operator myself for over two decades. this is Restaurant 101 stuff. Don't put higher prices in the POS *before* you update menus in front of the guest. You're basically ripping people off by design. That I wasn't even offered a refund for overpaying for the prices on menus right in front of me is insulting. Do better. read more

Of the four dishes we ordered: chicken, ground beef, salmon and shrimp (all kabobs), all but the last were overdone, with the ground beef being almost inedible. My friend and I were hungry after hiking at Great Falls. We had left her car in the Safeway lot. Mediterranean food sounded good and all we had to do was walk to the top of the parking lot. We were welcomed and greeted cheerfully upon entering. We noticed the patio and decided to eat outside on such a nice afternoon. We ordered a falafel salad, shirazi salad, and a mezza platter. EVERYTHING was delicious! Fresh greens, some of the best baba ganoosh I've ever had, (mild smoky flavor), and a nice creamy hummus. They substituted falafel on the mezza platter as I'm not fond of dolmas because of the typically bitter grape leaves. The falafel was moist and flavorful with a crispy non-greasy outside. One of the best places in the DMV for Persian/ Middle Eastern fare. Freshly made Mezze, Kubideh, Lamb chops, Shish kebabs, salads and warm baked breads. It's a small setting in Great Falls village, and makes a great stop to relax and refuel after you have spent the day walking or hiking at the park. My son has bball practice in GF so we have approximately 60 minutes to grab dinner. We take a look at the various options in the GF Center and decide on Village Grille as it isn't as crowded as El Tio or Bollywood. We walk in and take a table per the waiter. There are only 2 other tables taken. We sit down and wait 2 or 3 minutes...no menu, no acknowledgement, nothing. He takes the order of the other table and walks by us with the menus and goes back to the kitchen. We decide to leave as it seems like we will not have enough time considering wehave to pick up my son. You wonder why the place only has 2 tables taken on a Friday night at 740pm. We go to Subway next door for a quick meal. So, how is the food you ask?? We've been here before and also have ordered carry out in the past. The kabobs (chicken, beef) are very good. The gyros are good also. Wasn't too happy with the chicken shwarma as it has an odd taste of some spice I can't quite place. (I love shwarma and will order it quite frequently when I am in NYC). My only other comment is they are a bit on the expensive side for kabobs but I suppose that is what you should expect in Great Falls. ABSOLUTELY ARROGANT OWNER LOST MY RESPECT FOREVER. I've been a fan for years. I've posted positive review for years. I ordered lunch here at least once a week for years. I have brought my family here for years. But today was ridiculous. As I always do, I ordered my chicken Kabob for lunch. For the record, I hate beef kabob. Not just here. But I have always hated it. Don't like the smell. Don't like the taste. As I always do, I phoned ahead my lunch order for carryout. I picked it up, came to my office, and opened my lunch. oooooops! They gave me beef kabob. No big deal. Honest mistake. I called over expecting an easy replacement and a quick "sorry about that!" I figured I could swing back by in ten minutes and pick up the chicken I paid for. Instead, the owner decided he needed to argue with me and tell me I absolutely DID order beef kabob. I explained the above -- that I have never eaten beef kabob in my whole life, and definitely did not order that. But even if I did make a mistake, why not say "Sorry about the miscommunication, Rick! We'll make you some chicken." I didn't even mind the inconvenience and delay. I was having a good day. I just wanted the right order. Instead, even after explaining my distaste for the beef and the zero percent chance I ordered beef, here's what he said next: "I KNOW WHAT I HEARD." So I guess I (the customer) am a stupid idiot, and there is just no way he made and honest mistake. He literally argued vehemently with me and made sure I understood he's absolutely sure I am wrong and I definitely ordered food I would never eat if given to me for free. He essentially accused me of being stupid and made me feel like an idiot. This guy is an egomaniac who just lost a regular customer. All because of his horribly bad attitude. There are many establishments in Great Falls that appreciate their customers. He deserves none. By the way, I sent the beef Kabob back over to him and had it dropped off to him. He kept my money. So I was working on some equipment behind the Resturaunt at a gas station and got a whiff of the most amazing food ever! I immediately got hungry! After I finished up I drove around and found the diner! So many great choices on the menu. I went with the steak and cheese on ciabatta! Man oh man that was the best one I've had in Northern VA! The staff is very polite and the sitting area is very clean and orderly. They have a covered area outside to sit at on the nice days! If your near Tysons Corner it's worth the few extra minute drive through some beautiful landscapes to get there! I'll definitely be eating lunch there again in the future! What a surprise! We aren't from this area, but it was lunchtime! We thought we would be getting sandwiches with a name like Village Grill, but to our surprise they had a new menu. Since the kabobs were new, we decided to try them out. Actually, my boyfriend was leaning toward a sandwich until the owner brought out plates to show us what the kabob combos looked like. I went with the chicken kabob/Greek salad combo. The veggies were fresh, but cut into very large pieces so it was slightly annoying to eat. However, it was a tasty salad and all I needed was my fork and knife. The kabob was seasoned very well, and the pieces were amply sized. The waiter and the owner both checked in on us frequently. The manager was excited to hear our opinions about the kabobs, anf eagerly asked for any suggestions. It was nice to see someone who was open to feedback. The one downer was that the prices were steep for lunch. Our bill was over $40 for two kabob combos and two sodas. Albeit, there was a substantial amount of food. Perhaps smaller portions and lower prices for lunch and this would be a 5 star review! read more

The kabobs here are fantastic! The seasoning is delicious and the temperature is just right. It was one of those sit back and close your eyes type moments when I had a bite of each. Seriously. The Persian pita and yogurt sauce was also on point. As was the rice. The salad had just the right amount of everything and they had a dressing that added just enough flavor without making it unhealthy. As someone who very rarely eats salad this was one I was happy to devour. They also serve Italian (pizza, meatball subs, etc.) but we are saving that for next time. They also have cupcakes delivered for dessert. They are a little pricey for lunch but other than that this place wins on all fronts... This is the old Sciliano Restaurant. I've always felt it was a cut above for the area, and, thankfully, that's still the case even with a name change of about 6 months ago. The same ownership is in charge--good thing. Tucked away in a corner of a small shopping center, Village Grill puts out some solid cuisine. The chefs have a deft hand and preparations are light. The menu is full spectrum; specials are well done, not a just an afterthought. I had a Moroccan chicken dinner here that was a daily special--it blew me away. They still feature traditional Italian dishes as before, but have added a bunch of kabob combinations as well as other Middle Eastern fare that's listed as "Mediterranean Fusion". They've picked up on the kabob craze and run with it. I like their brick oven pizza; it's safe and not wildly experimental. Also, they make some fine coffee. Nice and clean, too. Call it whatever--just don't mess with the cooking. read more

I think this spot has a lot of potential to be great, but it seems like they are still trying to get into the swing of things. Pros: Loved the outdoor patio....It was a great setting to sit and chat with family. The chicken is really great, I love the seasoning and it was the perfect amount of tender. One person in our party ordered the chicken salad and loved it. Cons: It seemed understaffed, or that the staff was really inexperienced. I expected the more family-run hospitality from this place, but it didn't seem like the servers were even that familiar with the menu. The gyro meat was unavailable and it didn't seem like they were able to accommodate different requests with orders. I was trying to order a chicken wrap with hummus and our server seemed very confused. I just went with the spread that comes with it to avoid confusion or issues. If this place is able to stay above water, I think it has great potential. I just hope they work out the kinks soon! read more

Came here on a whim with my boyfriend. We were looking for a quick bite for lunch. Even though its a little hidden, its defiantly a hidden jewel! We ordered the Musto Museer to start. The pita was baked warm and fresh and the musto museer was full of garlic and flavor! They gave us a huge portion in where they supplied us will free refills of pita bread. We ended up eating two rounds of pita bread. For my entree I ordered the Lamb Gyro with a side of french fries. I was very happy with my choice. The lamb was cooked perfectly, they gave me a decent portion of meat along with an even amount of veggies all wrapped up in a little warm pita bread! I also got a little side of yogurt sauce to dip my gyro in, which tasted amazing! Overall my experience here was fantastic.
