I love clove! Best Hookah place! Fries is amazing! I also recommend the butter chicken!

Six of us went to Clove Restaurant in Sterling for dinner around 8 PM. The restaurant was completely empty, which was already concerning. Sadly, we soon found out why. We ordered biryani, karahi chicken, chicken corn soup, and a few other dishes. The food was terrible. The chicken was cold, dry, and tasted like it had been reheated or left over. The chicken corn soup was especially bad, with a strong unpleasant chicken smell that made it hard to eat. It was very embarrassing because we had guests with us. We spent nearly $200, and the quality of the food was unacceptable. A refund would honestly be more appropriate than charging full price for food like this. The restaurant's website looks flashy with nice pictures, but the actual food does not match at all. Even the service felt unprofessional--the waiter did not appear properly dressed. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Please avoid it if you can. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but this experience deserves honesty. read more

Clove has become my annual Ramadan tradition. Their Pakistani Buffet is amazing and includes a huge variety of Pakistani entrees. My personal favorites were the Kabuli Pulao, Butter Chicken, Curry Goat and Channa masala. The price is 39.99 and includes drinks and dessert. The staff is very kind and friendly and they offer an area for Muslims to make prayer. I will 110% be back again before Ramadan is over. Keep up the amazing work. read more

Absolutely horrible food. Butter chicken is sweet like a dessert. 3 pieces of paneer in the palik paneer dish. They are using cheap stale ingredients and serving it in a "high end" atmosphere i rather have good food with quality ingredients. read more

The 5 man party consensus for our Sunday Ramadan evening buffet iftaar is a solid 4/5. The indoor area is nice almost like a mini wedding hall but I particularly enjoyed the patio seating. There is also a nice separate area with laid out mats for prayer. The food was decent with 2-3 dishes standing out but the remainder lacked the authentic flavor I was expecting. The milk rooh afzah was very refreshing. The buffet line was exceptionally long in the beginning but it moved quickly and simmered down as the evening went on. I appreciate the worker passing out dates in the line when it was time to break the fast. The restock rate of the buffet was reasonable but the drinks ran out fast and were empty a couple of the times I went to them. I thought the $40 price was a bit steep beforehand but after visiting I was more satisfied than I had anticipated and will be back for more! read more

I went here last night for the iftaar buffet. $40 per person , plus tax and you can add a tip, no service charge applied. (I paid $50 after tip) Tbh I don't go to buffets often especially in Ramadan bc I feel the prices are high compared to how much you end up eating, but I believe they charge a lot for the variety put out. Reservation required - my friend called ahead of time a day or two to book us a table. You are assigned a table number. I love that the restaurant made people reserve to make sure they didn't overbook! It was FULLY packed so there wasn't a lot of space between tables and someone's chair behind me kept touching me but no big deal. Parking - very hard to find parking based on capacity. Luckily the hookah lounge, Bank of America etc allowed people to use their spots and didn't tow, otherwise the Clove parking lot is quite small. Iftaar buffet - lots of variety! They also let people start getting food 15 min before iftaar, that way there wasn't a huge rush as soon as fasting broke to avoid chaos lol - I appreciated this bc it was calm and controlled traffic at the table! People also left the main hall to go pray maghrib. Staff was great and was very attentive to make sure all trays were constantly refilled. The staff also checks to pick up your plates when you're done or getting another round of food haha. The front of the table has plates, then there's chutneys and salad, followed by chaat papri, dahi balay, pakoras, samosas and other desi snacks. The mains ranged from qabuli pulao, biryani, butter chicken, malai kofta, fried fish, chicken 65 and a few other items. The desserts were at the end of the table including kheer and gulab jamun. A separate table along the wall held cups and hot canisters of lemonade, qahwa (green tea), chai, Kashmiri chai, including ground nuts garnish and sugar, and soda. Highlights - lemonade (even tho there was a touch too much black salt), samosas, chicken 65, butter chicken, Kashmiri chai, and the cute warm gulab jamuns UGH YES. Skip imo - qabuli pulao (I didn't feel a lot of flavor so not enough salt or broth), dahi balay (idk if I didn't like their yogurt or what but these were not it). read more

I have been to Toosso nearby several times, and did not even know this place existed right behind Toosso. If you are looking for some good food, in a pretty nice atmosphere, for a reasonable price, I will say give Clove a shot. We went there on a bit of a warmer day, so sitting outside was not an option for us, but indoor is pretty nice and clean and gives a very upscale look. Food options are pretty good and portions are more than enough. My only "negative" was that their spice levels are a bit on milder side. I ordered the Black Pepper Chicken, and went with the medium level of spice, but their medium for that particular dish felt more like on the mild side. The taste of the food was definitely superb, but I just did not feel the burn that I was expecting. The bread they give you with the dishes was certainly freshly made and it smelled amazing with the butter that they put on top. I could simply fill myself with the bread if I wanted to, but I held back. Also, their haleem was pretty close to home made. Though, to me, home made haleem is the ONLY haleem worthy of eating, and I have tried some haleem at other places too. Clove's haleem was about 75% close to home made haleem. Overall, really good experience and will recommend it if you are in the area. (P.S. First time at this place. They have ample parking. Clean and nice indoor seating I am very supportive of small businesses and minorities owned businesses. But that doesn't mean free pass. They fried store bought samosas. Perhaps they ran out of home made We ordered halwa puri. Goat paya and goat qorma. All the food came out at the same time. Appetizers and rest. Server forgot to inform that entree comes with nan. So we had ordered additional nan Goat paya was ok and the goat meat was good Service was ok Server was courteous. Ambience is good. This was our second time to clove. We especially went back for boneless chicken tikka with rice. It was a great experience the 1st time with awesome chicken tikka but today when we ordered the same dish, it was horrid. The rice was totally bland with absolutely no salt and seemed microwaved, definitely not fresh and the chicken tikka was raw with huge pieces. The chef didn't even bother cutting the chicken in to reasonable pieces. When we complained, the waiter brought a salt shaker to sprinkle on top of the rice and kept on telling us that tikka rice is always like this with little or no salt. It was shocking for us to witness no apology or exchange for the dish. Once we asked for the bill, they added the chicken tikka which we didn't eat and didn't want to pay for. when my husband asked to see the bill, the waiter told us we need to pay first then we can ask for the print receipt. That's the first time we heard anything like that. When we paid and the guy brought the receipt, we found out that They charged us 20% surcharge ($5.50) which, by chance I saw on the menu that surcharge is applied for a group of 5 or more,. However, we are a family of 3. Upon asking they said it's a mistake, they will give us the surcharge amount back but handed 5 dollars instead of 5.50. I would never have asked for the surcharge but watching their behavior and non helpful attitude, I didn't want to leave a dime. Not recommending this place cause if the food is bad, they won't help you in any way, rather they will try their best to somehow charge you if you are not vigilant. read more

This is authentic food from Pakistan. If you like food from the Middle East or Middle Eastern countries, you must try!!! The quality of the food is a 9+ the quality of the service is a 10 the quality of the management is a 10. This restaurant is extremely underrated and unknown to many people. I went to Clove back in Ramadan and just had their plain parata and chai. The service was very good. I recently picked up food from there and I must say, it was hot and fresh. It was below average for a $40 iftar buffet, especially when compared to other iftar buffets at lower price points with much better taste and offerings. One thing going for the place is its ambiance, but not worth an hour-long hike and average food. We had picked the place to celebrate someone's birthday. Disappointing! The fact that the restaurant was completely empty should have been an indication that this place wasn't the vibe. Watered down nihari and paya carried over from the weekend was served. We paid $19 dollars for chicken karahi that was a few pieces of chicken, not an entire chicken which didn't taste as karahi should. Samosa chaat was one samosa in a bowl cut into quarters covered in yogurt. Desi restaurants should realize we dine as families and this place is way overpriced for food that isn't authentic or well received. The sesame naan and butter chicken was decent.
