We ate here last week (delivery), and it was good, so we ordered for pick-up on Thursday night. They had about 12 people in the dining area eating our waiting for their food, and the place smelled amazing. I picked up my order, which I paid for online, and as I'm walking away it seemed a little light. No bread (paid for/extra), so I went back to the counter and got our (2) orders of bread. The garlic naan was good, I preferred the plain naan this time with butter - this was amazing and fresh, very good! We ordered (2) orders of butter chicken. SO DISAPPOINTING - there was, no exaggeration, a few shreds of chicken in each one... it was all sauce. Maybe, MAYBE a chicken breast or thigh's worth of chicken between the two meals. If I had the time, I would have packed it up and gone back to the restaurant. PLEASE, if you are a manager of this establishment, you need to give people value for their money, or we will NOT return. This is my go-to spot whenever I'm craving Indian street food! I absolutely love their chole puri. pav bhaji, dahi puri, dosa, fries, and even the pastries - all full of flavor and remind me of the real street food experience. Everything tastes fresh and authentic. I've tried their pizza and noodles though, but it didn't quite hit the mark - definitely not their strong suit. It took me 45 minutes to get my lunch here and the meat was fridge cold and the cheese wasn't melted. The place was completely empty when I was there around 1145AM, so not sure why my order took so long or why my food wasn't fully cooked. Since I was there were no other customers there my question is was the meat yesterday's cooked meat taken out of the fridge and not adequately heated? The person who took my order wasn't friendly and actually didn't even seem to care that I was there. Somehow, the place seemed disorganized and chaotic even though it was empty. I also can't stand the 25 percent tip screen menu they presented me with when paying for counter service. So, you order your food from the counter, you pour your own water at a set up they have, you get your own utensils, and you're called up to pick up your own food when it's ready -- but then your expected to leave a 25 percent tip? Perfect for large groups and family get togethers. Quick and friendly person at counter and more of a self-service. I really enjoyed the chai tea hot 5/5 and bombay sandwich (its massive!!) its a full meal for 2 if u just order that so plz share it if u plan to try anything else on their menu :) The bombay sandwich 5/5 is filled with potato filling (mild to medium) and sliced beetroot - gives u a healthy feeling with the beets :p I did like the masala fries 5/5 too which is waffle cut fries sprinkled with spices to give it a kick! What i didnt enjoy - junglee chicken hoogie 2/5- description says "shredded chicken" and we asked it to be made spicy and they nodded to do it but it wasnt shredded and not spicy :( hence deducting 1 star. Came for a workday lunch here. Ordered Hyderabadi Dum Biryani. The place is a bit chaotic. As I reached the front counter a call came in and the lady on the counter started getting phone number and name of the caller. As soon as she hung up another call came in and so on. I was waiting for 5-10 minutes until another gentleman came in to take my order. Now I have been waiting for more than 10 minutes for my food when there wasn't anyone ahead of me in the restaurant. In a way this inefficiency is annoying for wasting time but strangely also comforting as it reminds of the slow pace of life in India. Just got my Biryani. The quantity was generous. Spice level - spicy as I had requested. Chicken pieces a bit less. The overall taste about 3.5/5. I ordered Butter Chicken to Take out, by paying $17.99 plus Tax and the quantity was very very less in a very small container and it was not worth the price. A few months ago, the container was bigger than what they gave yesterday. We have been going to TF for some time and have seen the expansion, remodeling and turnover of staff but most unfortunately, have experienced the quality of their food getting worse. Their pizza is absolute garbage now. Paneer is hard, they don't cook it properly as it comes out cold and amul cheese is gone. Their paneer makhanwala was the standard purée and cream affair. Garlic naan, vada pao and samosa chaat were good. Not sure if we will return. PS: second time in a row they forgot pozza(kids need to be fed first and it's probably the easiest to make) and we had finished all the other food before it arrived. read more

After visiting family in the area, they were raving about this place and we had to stop by for a late lunch. We placed a huge order (super hungry) for pickup. We got two Tava Cheese Naan, Waffle Masala Fries, Pani Puri, Tava Chana Masala, and a Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza. Estimated pickup time was 25 min and the order was ready early which was great since we had a long-ish drive home. The restaurant was pretty busy despite it being after lunch time on a Monday. It was torture because it smelled really good. The cheese naan were enormous! Great texture, not mushy or hard, and a decent amount of cheese. The waffle fries had a good kick to them and were crispy. The pani puri we're ok, unfortunately weren't crispy but still had good flavor. The heat of the food kinda melted the cup of the spicy water that came with it (I don't know the name). The Chana masala was flavorful and spicy. It was also a pretty big portion (also came with a lot of basmati rice). The pizza was a personal sized pizza but could definitely last you two meals. The chicken tikka pieces were enormous, and the sauce was creamy. Definitely a heavy pizza but there were lots of peppers on it so...kind of healthy. I can see why it was hyped up so much. Decided to try again Wednesday and sat and waited for my order to be taken for over 10 minutes. There were folks behind me and others just waiting for food. Let me start by saying I have very little experience with Indian food. The person working was really helpful and explained they have street style Indian food. If you cannot have ANY spicy food than I am not sure if there is a lot for you to try. I got the Lamb Seekh platter. It was delicious and just barely spicy. We were in the area and decided to try this spot out due to the rave reviews on here and in a foodies group. We looked at the menu ahead of time and decided on some items (and even researched ahead of time). Turns out this used to be Burger IM. Upon arrival, it was PACKED with people waiting for "to go" orders and bustling inside. Only a handful of tables were open and we looked at the menu again while waiting. At least the people were waiting a sizeable distance from each other. Upon ordering, the cashier said the pizza would take "AT LEAST 30 minutes. At LEAST." We agreed and ordered the dahi puri as an app. We got the chicken tikka pizza, mango lassi, and the chicken shawarma (I didn't want to get pizza too since they were on a wait). They pulled out a mango lassi already made from a fridge, which was disappointing. And it was barely cold. The total was $42, which was spendy for a "fast casual" restaurant. Fortunately, the food came as it was cooked and not all together. Unfortunately, the dahi puri was basically inedible. It was drenched in yogurt sauce to the point it wasn't crispy anymore and tasted heavily of mint. I made myself eat a second one. Upon getting our food (the pizza ended up being about 15 minutes), it was just mediocre. But it WAS piping hot. The shawarma and pizza had the same chicken included - and it was extremely dry chicken tikka and had no sauce. The roti that my shawarma was wrapped in was perfectly crispy in some spots and partially raw in others. I couldn't finish it. I tried some of my husband's pizza and the dough was as if a Belgian waffle was savory (and dry). Another alarming thing that happened is that a boy was running around with no mask on and coughing on everything. We left immediately when he started doing it. Also, another customer kept getting up to get silverware, a box, etc. with no mask on (they even talked to the employee to ask a question). Employees said nothing to either about no masks. They were getting a lot of calls about complaints of slow delivery. I think they rushed our orders because of this. Overall, I will not be returning. I don't understand the hype. Not the worst but not the best Indian cuisine I've had. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat this is your place. Curry comes with either rice or naan. The portion size is perfect. The rice was very dry and did not taste fresh and the lamb was a little over cooked. I expected more potent spices and flavors in the curry. For the price of the lamb curry $20, I did not feel it was worth it. The naan was phenomenal and a very reasonable price. Came here for the first time, didn't have an idea what to order myself. While looking at the menu, the one thing that really got under my skin was that every menu entry was prefixed with the name of the restaurant (Tava). I found that very annoying and actually gave up after reading 2-3 menu items when I saw that every dish was prefixed with the same brand name. In fact I nearly took off a star because it bothered me so much, but then thought the rating might be a bit low if I did choose to do so. The waiter was a nice dude and actually suggested (and then noted down) a non-veg dish for me, since I didn't yet know what I wanted. At the end once the order was placed, the screen asked for a tip which caught me off guard. I gave the regular suggested tip which ended up being about 15$ since we ordered a couple other dishes. Overall I didn't like that they indirectly asked for a tip without mentally preparing me for it. We had asked for the dishes to be spicy, but we did feel like it was a little overly spicy. The appetizers were pretty good and the dishes in itself were ok. The rumali rotis were spot on. I was surprised that my dish had ground chicken in it (Chicken Sheek I believe, based on what the waiter chose for me) but overall the curry was well done, though just a little more spicy than expected, the same as the other dishes were. I also wished the water had ice in it, but that wasn't a huge deal by itself. One good thing was there were paper napkins readily available and on hand, and I did go through a ton of them because as mentioned all the dishes were a bit over the top on spice level, though admittedly we had asked for it earlier. After hearing the ad of this restaurant in a Indian radio station a ton of times,we decided to give it a try when we were in Ashburn. The restaurant's staff taking the order were friendly and we asked them for suggestions and decided to order panner Kati roll,Naan chaap sandwich. They had an outdoor seating arrangement with heaters and so we choose to dine in. The order came out quick, the food was hot and looked freshly made. But the food unfortunately tasted average. There was too much of coriander powder in the kati roll and that just ruined the entire dish for me. Prices are on the expensive side as the two dishes were around 20$ with taxes,which I feel is a bit high considering this to be street food restaurant. I had high hopes for this restaurant and hopefully when I return next time I will order few other of their bestsellers and wish that they turn out to be delicious Mumbai street food. read more

I have been passing this place for weeks and finally decided to try. I ordered the chicken shawarma, Chicken Tikka masala pizza, and masala fries. The pizza was decent but I'm not obsessed. The fries were not good. They have a seasoning on about 1/4 of them instead of all and they are not cooked well. The chicken shawarma was the best thing I ordered. It tasted like a paneer sabji gravy which was bitter in taste. I had to trash that bhaji. Challi burger- 3/5. As soon as you walk in you know "this food is gonna taste good!" The aromas from the spices make your mouth water. Lots of folks dining in and ample outside seating, as well. They were busy but kept it moving and I got my delicious, hot and noticeably fresh quality food quickly. Took everything in me to resist their homemade desserts, I will cave in one day!
