They fit the vibe of the place

TINY is one word that comes to my mind when I think of this place. SUPER TINY. It's newly renovated and has reopened. The website and advertisements say it's a hookah and cigar lounge. That's the main reason we decided to go. The two other people I was with smoke cigars. I don't do neither one (hookah or cigars) but was willing to check it out with them. The owner was super nice and answered all of our questions. So, I would say the service was fine. However, he quickly explained how it was not a cigar lounge because the furniture would not be able to withstand the cigar smell, only the hookah one. There were approximately 10 people in the lounge, which made it "crowded". One thing I noticed was the decor. Nice furnishings and absolutely STUNNING photographs hanging on the wall. It gave a sultry vibe. They don't serve real food there, just bites. However, we didn't really inquire or stay longer than 5 minutes to eat. We had eaten at another location. Overall, if you're into hookah and a lot of smoke everywhere (in a SUPER TINY) local spot, this is your place. I don't see myself returning. There's nothing there for me.

A month ago, I hosted a game night at Myste. The staff were very welcoming. It's super cozy and intimate spot to socialize, sip, and savor with weekly themed nights like karaoke and games. Small Bites Menu Featuring delicious Nigerian options like Suya and Fried Plantain. Limited Drink Menu Choose from wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. Hookah Enjoy shisha with a variety of traditional and exotic flavors. Happy Hour Wednesday - Friday | 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM Good vibes. Great people. Always a good time. I can't wait until they serve an extensive food menu. I can't wait to go back!

Myste Lounge is a decent spot for a chill game night, but it has room for improvement. I would like to give them kudos on this exceptional customer service, the waitress was very very attentive, and made sure to continuously ask if we were okay, or needed anything. Here's the review deets: the hookah ($50 starting price) was solid and definitely added to the relaxed vibe, but the food menu is very limited, which might not work for everyone, including myself. Also, they don't serve hard liquor or cocktails--just basic drinks (Cutwater mixed with something, wine, beer) that were okay but nothing special. If you're going for the atmosphere and games, it's a good time, but don't expect much from the menu or drink options.

Millie was a gem! She hosted us beautifully and was very attentive, friendly and nice! The space is a bit small but it is very lively! They offer small chops as well as wines and mixed drinks. I loved the karaoke --it was so fun. If you're looking for a fun night out with your friends--this is your spot! The suya and the jerk chicken was so good !! Definitely coming back

Ehh cool place until it starts to get busy and then they rush you out or sit someone at your table with you like you're not a paying customer: don't know if I'd be back. It's very small don't come on a Friday/weekend because it can get busy and it's very small.

Myste is also on Main St. (directly across the street from Skyvibe). I really love this spot and will be back. I love the chill vibes, nice staff, and how local it is. Our champagne tower was really good (I'm not sure what flavor it was but I liked it and it kind of reminded me of passion fruit). They have good hookah, so this is a great spot. One con is that it's small so you either have to arrive early or wait if all the tables are full. Another con is that guests have to prepare the food themselves. I talked to the owner about it and this is the case because of the license they have. They are prohibited by laws in Laurel to prepare food because it is a smoking establishment. That's why they came up with the DIY charcuterie concept, which is completely understandable. They also only serve beer and wine/champagne. But I think it's the perfect spot for a chill night out with friends.

First off let me tell you the owner is THEE sweetest! We were looking for a place to go in the area of where we live and he accommodated us and made sure we had a great time. The servers were great and attentive. I ordered rum punch and a rum cake because I already had dinner and it was a great dessert to end my night. The ambiance is amazing great place for a little date or vibey hang out with the homies if you want hookah and games.! Love love love

I went to Myste Lounge yesterday afternoon for a sisterhood wine glass decorating class. The space is a little small, but a great size for our smaller group of ladies. Most of the guests enjoyed their food, drinks and the hookah...this is a hookah lounge that opened early for our event. I got the soya & plantain combo. The plantain were very thin and looked to be warmed up. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the soya. And the servers were attentive. Overall, I'd recommend this place is you're looking for an intimate hookah spot in Laurel.

One of the best hookah lounges in the area, very accommodating with immaculate customer service and much thought on what food selections while you catch a vibe. I definitely will be returning.

I didn't get a chance to try the food this time, but after seeing (and smelling!) everything, I'll definitely be back to do just that. My only small drawbacks were that they don't carry Patrón and the prices run a bit on the higher side. Aside from that, it's a really nice spot with a great atmosphere. When I finally stopped by, I actually enjoyed myself. I liked the atmosphere, the energy, and the overall vibe. I even thought it was somewhere I would return to regularly, especially after learning that it was a black-owned business. As someone who intentionally supports black-owned businesses whenever possible, I was excited to have discovered a new place to support. Unfortunately, that changed at the end of the night. As closing time approached, I was standing with a glass of wine in my hand when, to my surprise, a member of the security staff (tall African American man with locs) randomly walked up to me and took the drink directly out of my hand. There was no "Excuse me." No "Ma'am, we're closing, I'll give you a few seconds to finish your drink, then you have to leave." No polite request to finish my drink and make my way out. Nothing! I completely understand that businesses have closing times. That is not my issue. My issue is the complete lack of respect and professionalism in the way the situation was handled. There was absolutely no reason for anyone to remove a drink from my hand without first speaking to me. A simple conversation would have accomplished the exact same result. Instead, the interaction felt rude, unnecessary, disrespectful, and honestly insulting. What bothered me most was how easily the situation could have been handled differently. A customer who is calmly standing with a drink in her hand should not be treated as though she is incapable of understanding a simple request. Respectful communication costs nothing! As someone who makes a conscious effort to support black-owned businesses, this experience was especially disappointing. I walked into The Hideout wanting to support the establishment and left feeling more disrespected than I have ever felt at any business I have patronized. After sharing my experience with a few individuals, I was surprised to learn that more than one person reported having negative interactions with the same security guard. I can only speak to my own experience, but hearing similar stories from others makes me wonder whether this behavior is an ongoing issue rather than an isolated incident. It is unfortunate that the actions of one employee completely changed my perception of what otherwise appeared to be a great establishment. One employee's behavior was enough to ensure that I will not return. I do not spend my money where I am treated with disrespect, spoken down to, or handled as though I am a child! I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously because no customer should be treated this way. Respect is the bare minimum when interacting with paying customers, and this entire situation could have been avoided with a simple, polite request. Please train your staff to do better!

I always assumed it was just a club/lounge experience, but when I drove by I always saw their signs about having the best suya in the area. I randomly decided to drop by while in the area making my PetCo run (while they were still around). Spectrum is deceptively large. In the middle of the day, it was also quite empty -- some fans were running (it was summer) but the music was still cranking! As a first timer, I honestly didn't know where to go, so I just wandered a bit. I made my way to the back area where it definitely had the party vibes -- lights, couches, bars, all of it. I went up to the register to order food... that was a seamless process. Despite the sign about suya, I got the Passion Chicken... sorry, I wasn't in a suya mood XD. It took about 15-20 minutes to prepare, so I just hung out in one of the fancy lounge seats waiting. My chicken was ready, with plantain and jollof rice... and I sat there, in a lounge, eating it. Not gonna lie, that felt kinda weird LOL! Especially given that I was all by myself in a party room. But you know what? It was a nice vibe! I finished my meal satisfied. There was no low to the meal -- though jollof is never spicy enough for me XD. I hear there have been renovations since I was there, so I need to return some time! Looking forward to it.

They were doing a great job on service, cordial, answered questions, & food was solid. It was when the bill came. I was going to tip 20% for his good service, but I was pissed when there was an automatic 18% gratuity added to the bill for just two of us. That was so obnoxious. That's the crap they'd do in DC with their Initiative 82 nonsense. Or it is common practice for a large enough party to do forced 18% or whatever gratuity, which still is annoying. 90% of the time I'm tipping at least 18%, but what about the other 10% where the service sucks, slow, &/or surly?! They are subsidizing lousy servers with that guaranteed 18%. This place opened maybe last summer or so, and it was kind of a nice addition to Corridor Marketplace. I wasn't terribly interested in spicy Caribbean food, granted not all spicy. It's a Caribbean-Italian fusion. I checked the menu online not long after they opened and before deciding to finally give this local place in my neighborhood a try when they were nice enough to give 20% off. I determined the food is strange although they had some stuff that might be appealing but seemed overprice. $36 for lasagna seems steep to me, but it's oxtail lasagna so some fancy beef I suppose. Initially, I tried calling to make my reservation on Monday, but no one answered and then realized Monday is the day they are closed. I called 3 times on Tuesday afternoon, but no one answered, which was a bit of a negative. However, while on my 3rd call to them, I was on a walk, and I decided I'd try walking in since I wasn't all that far from Catherine's on my walk. The restaurant was dead as it was about 3:30 in the afternoon, and the server was nice getting my reservation in for an early dinner on Thursday as I had a meeting at 7 PM and also something enough I was ideally trying to do before that. My friend & fellow Russett resident arrived on time. We discussed the red ropes and carpeting outside, which I've always thought was too much. It blocks almost the entire sidewalk over there, which was one thing that turned me off to the restaurant originally. My older friend who walks with a cane made an interesting comment I didn't think of but agreed that it could be hazardous to someone with a cane, elderly, or handicap. Although I don't think the red rope/carpeting is necessary at all, perhaps they could consider pulling it back some. We were seated at a white table cloth seats. They have booth/table combinations, individual tables of varying sizes, and the bar area. Server promptly came over. The place is nicely decorated with good lighting, but was quite warm as the big windows brought in the hot sun even though it was only maybe 60 F outside, but I'm sure in the summer & when it's legitimately warm outside they have the AC cranking. I just water as I wanted to be clearheaded for the 7 PM meeting, but I heard from another neighbor there that the sangria drink was good & strong. My friend ordered a drink, but it never came for her, which she didn't care, but that was an error on their part. I asked the server several questions about his recommendations & various other aspects of the menu. I settled on what I had originally had leaned to when I had looked at the menu online and the Yelp reviews I saw. I got the rasta pasta with chicken. My friend got the oxtail lasagna. Although I'm not big on spicy foods in general, and the rasta pasta was pretty spicy, it still wasn't so ridiculously spicy that it detracted on the good taste. The portion size was bigger than I realized, which was a plus too. I could've pigged out and eaten the whole sucker, but I decided to not overeat and save half as a leftover. Based on some reviews/pics, I was thinking the rasta pasta wasn't going to be that big, and that it'd be one sitting. In 2024, my girlfriend & I had gone to an Italian restaurant, where the portion size was not much where I didn't have leftovers, which was annoying for the price there, and I had no 20% off or any sort of discount. I asked to try a bite of my friend's oxtail lasagna as I was curious to see what oxtail was all about. It was very good, but it's still not worth $36 although debatable with the 20% off about $29, I would've been satisfied with it. Further, it looked bigger than I was thinking. Water refill came in a timely enough manner, which always important. It had been overall a pleasant experience, and I was ready to give 4-stars, but as I said before the forced 18% gratuity was a big turnoff, which lowered it to 3-stars. Forced gratuity is a major turnoff. I might've considered coming back with the high full prices, but I won't come back with that forced gratuity nonsense.

Because of my video that I share at instagram I am glad Oversea Distillery and Bar only 10 minutes away from my house! BAIJIU: (pronounced bye-jyo) is a traditional, clear Chinese distilled spirit. Literally translating to "white liquor," it is typically distilled from fermented grains like sorghum, rice, or wheat and ranges from 35% to 60% ABV. As the world's most consumed spirit, it boasts a history spanning millennia How It's MadeUnlike most Western spirits, baijiu relies on qu, a unique starter culture of crushed grains packed with active molds and yeasts. This culture simultaneously converts grain starches into sugars and ferments those sugars into alcohol--a process called solid-state fermentation. The mash is then traditionally distilled in clay or stone pots. Just like wine or whiskey, baijiu isn't a single flavor. It is categorized into four primary styles, though many sub-varieties exist: Strong Aroma: Sweet and pungent with fruity and spicy notes (e.g., Wuliangye). Sauce Aroma: Complex and savory, often likened to soy sauce, fermented vegetables, or dark chocolate (e.g., Kweichow Moutai). Light Aroma: Crisp, clean, and floral, similar to sake or high-end vodka. Rice Aroma: Mild, slightly sweet, and floral, closely resembling other Asian grain spirits like shochu.

We he approached us, he said "what can I get for y'all" not once did he properly greet us or even introduce himself. As we ordered our drinks, we asked for calamari as an appetizer. After 15 mins of waiting for the drinks, I asked where was the calamari and he "never put it in" which I'd figured out at this point. Throughout our visit, Tai never once checked on us, refilled our waters or cleared our very small table of empty dishes after we'd eaten. Instead, he was enjoying the basketball game behind the bar and assisting the bartender. He'd left several tables unattended and didn't seem to have a care in the world. Ultimately, I had the manager on duty remove the 18% automatic gratuity from our check and didn't leave Tai one red cent. I feel like I will return to this location for the food. This is definitely a . . . neighborhood . . . . possibly . . . . hangout spot . . . I think. I've…read morebeen here a few times before and it's always been the same type of vibe. Barely anyone in there and service blah. I ventured here with a friend to celebrate another friend's birthday. I was warned ahead of time that the drinks were horrible so I adjusted accordingly. They have a good open space and they were hosting the Thursday night football game. There's an area that has a big screen television and some lounge chairs all mostly facing the television throughout that half of the restaurant. They have a very limited menu and I can appreciate that however I did ask if my food was going to be freshly prepared or if it had already been cooked and was sitting under warmers. I was informed that it would be freshly made and I didn't feel like that was untruthful because it was just some fried fish and french fries which you can just throw in some grease. Yeah, nah. It was at the very beginning of warm. That's not hard to make some fresh fish and some fresh hot crispy french fries. But for $10, okay. I was asked to pay immediately after I ordered and thought that this was awkward as well but, okay. If the food was hot it would have been great. The fish was seasoned and I love a crinkle cut french fry. When my server brought the food to me they were about to sit it in my lap instead of putting it on the table in front of me. I thought that very awkward and ask them to just put it on the table please . . . . I don't know what else to say. They serve hookah as well --v--

They have great selection for their lunch special with really good prices! I couldn't decide between wings or shrimp so I got both and I was not disappointed! Since it was lunch time it wasn't a lot of people in there which was fine by me lol. The bartenders are friendly as well. I hear they have a great happy hour as well so I plan on going back to see what that's like. Oh they have a a few pool tables in there too!

Strings of Halloween cobwebs tremble above bottles of liquor, as if the ghosts here prefer to drink domestically. A vodka shot stands beside its receipt like evidence of a small crime against moderation. The Buffalo wings, glossy with orange defiance, rest in their Styrofoam sarcophagus, radiating the heat of something both glorious and regrettable. They taste of salt, vinegar, and a century of American longing -- a perfect fusion of pleasure and self-punishment. The fries are pallid witnesses, already resigned to their limp fate, and the cup of bleu cheese dressing stares up like a white eye of judgment. Yet somehow, in this dim and sticky world, everything feels mercifully honest: the bartender's quiet rhythm, the hum of televisions, the unwavering neon of Bud Light offering salvation through carbonation. There is beauty in such imperfection -- the kind that belongs to places that have nothing left to prove.
