Here for the Carolina wings and food to go
    Keyser S.

Inside Nuzback's Bar, the light hangs low and yellow, a kind of perpetual dusk where time congeals into the smell of fryer oil and cheap vodka. Strings of Halloween cobwebs tremble above bottles of liquor, as if the ghosts here prefer to drink domestically. A vodka shot stands beside its receipt like evidence of a small crime against moderation. The Buffalo wings, glossy with orange defiance, rest in their Styrofoam sarcophagus, radiating the heat of something both glorious and regrettable. They taste of salt, vinegar, and a century of American longing -- a perfect fusion of pleasure and self-punishment. The fries are pallid witnesses, already resigned to their limp fate, and the cup of bleu cheese dressing stares up like a white eye of judgment. Yet somehow, in this dim and sticky world, everything feels mercifully honest: the bartender's quiet rhythm, the hum of televisions, the unwavering neon of Bud Light offering salvation through carbonation. There is beauty in such imperfection -- the kind that belongs to places that have nothing left to prove.

This is quite the dive bar. Theres pool and darts, but the main draw was the one hour happy hour. Our table housed a huge amount of wings. Considering the price, the wings are a really great deal. The Carolina sauce is my favorite.

Nuzback's is like stepping back in time. It has great atmosphere with excellent food and the bar staff are all very good and personable.

Several years ago, we started going to Nuzback's in May for their crab specials. It's always a great experience and today was one of the best! The crabs were meaty, perfectly cooked, and delicious. Wonderful service and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I returned to this establishment about four years after I first came. Everything still look the same. Jukebox had a great mixed selection of songs, new and old. You pay for your songs. There was def slot of locals there. There is a large bar area as well as indoor seating for families etc. Plenty of TV's. We were told they play the Ravens and Washington football games there. Parking is right next door. No draft beer any longer but bottled beer and a full bar selection. Bathrooms were situated wired. No stalls. Literally just two toilets next to each other and a sink. Dope dive bar!

This is your typical dive bar. Great vibes, cheap bar food and drinks. Do not expect much here. I'm giving this place 5 stars because our servers have been great every time my friends and I stop by. Our food comes out quickly even when the place is completely packed. I always get their Old bay honey, BBQ and buffalo wings or their shrimp. These wings always come out piping hot and they are definitely larger than Hooters/ BWW down the street. The shrimps are deveined and large in size as well This bar has been here for years. Right off Route 1. You get an interesting mix of a crowd. They do feature karaoke, pool, darts and TVs to catch your favorite games. Their summer happy hour specials only run for an hour starting at 5:30 PM so make sure you come on time and know exactly what you want to order.

First let me say when I arrived to this place I was like "Where in the Son's of Anarchy am I?!" But I quickly learned not to judge a dive bar by how it looks lol I came here with a couple of friends for their happy hour. I ordered the honey old bay wings, sweet potato fries, and a couple of margaritas. The drinks were ok, not great, but not bad, just your typical rail drinks. Now on to the sweet potato fries, they were crispy, hot, and taste fresh. I never had sweet potato waffle fries but my tats buds and belly were happy. Ok now to the main course, the wings! O-M-Friggin-G were they delicious! They were cooked to perfection, not too hard and not too mushy. They had both crunch and moisture, and the amount of honey old bay seasoning was just right. I ate every last one of wings, along with a couple from the other plates on the table, and did a little dance while doing so. Without the wings this place is a 2.5, with the wings and cheap prices it's a 3.5. If you're looking for a cheap happy hour with great wings and scent drinks this may be your place.

Was meeting up with a friend for a late night drink on a Saturday night and he suggested this place. I literally thought he was making this place up. I'm always in Laurel and never even heard of this place or noticed it. He kept saying it was across the street from the TGIF's and I thought he was crazy. Lo and behold, this place really exists and at 11 p.m. on a Saturday night, it was packed and lively, but not overly packed where you can't get seating or good service. I love a good "hole in the wall" spot and this is certainly that. We sat outside but had to go inside first to get to the outdoor area. There were people dancing inside and having a great time. The outside crowd was having a good time as well. I'm still in shock I never knew about this place. Not sure if they offer happy hour, but the prices are reasonable enough where you can come anytime!

11p on a Thursday. 90s top 50s music (I'm a fan) with about a dozen people. Location is clean, including the men's bathroom, with two bartenders. I ordered a drink, started a tab and never needed to wait for the next beer. Beers tasted good and not stale. Then I ordered food. I saw a burger and wanted one. 8 plus tax and the food was delivered in a little over 5 minutes. The food was GOOD. The burger was topped with every topping I requested. The burger tasted amazing. The burger came with a side of fries and a pickle slice. I hate pickles and did not try it. The fries were also really good, with seasoning that just hit the spot (didn't need ketchup). The portions for the price was very good. There is motorcycle parking. I came here after work to relax and mission accomplished. Give it a shot if you're in the area.

Draft is on! (Someone mentioned previously they no longer served draft)

Today, I gave them another shot because Uber Eats was offering a buy one, get one free deal on the jerk chicken meal. I chose rice & peas with plantain for my sides. The chicken was cooked on the grill--which I love--because it really brings out the flavor in jerk chicken. I also requested my jerk sauce on the side since I prefer a dry rub style over a saucy one. The only drawback was the small bone pieces in the chicken and rice. That's something to be cautious about, especially if a child is eating the meal. The plantains were also inconsistent--some pieces were hard, while others were mushy. On the bright side, the coco bread was perfect and the Jamaican rum cake was phenomenal. Whoever baked that cake clearly took their time soaking it in rum. It reminded me of the way my grandmother used to make it--absolutely delicious. I would definitely order the rum cake again.

Usually with brunch we would do the bottomless mimosas and all but because I was driving I decided not to participate in that. And usually I would get chicken and waffles but I was in the mood for a burger. So I thought because their name is "Mad Cow" the burger would be the bomb...but nope it was not good at all. So I prefer a beef burger cooked medium with blue cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onions. When I burger got tot the table it was dry as a board. No blue cheese that I paid extra for and the burger was not cooked correctly it was cooked well done. Smdh. So the waiter brought me my blue cheese apologized about it and also gave me a mayo bottle. Even with the burger still was not good and the patty was so thick with no flavor not even salt and pepper was in it!! I tried their punch drink which was really good but for $15 a pop in a regular water glass was ridiculous. Make sure you don't get too tipsy as they already have like a 20% gratuity added on each of our checks no matter how small or big your group is which again is ridiculous! Will I come back...maybe only because I would like to try some Jamaican food they offer. But for brunch...it's a no for me!

Now parking and being comfortable, that might be where the fun stops. The parking lot and both the inside of the bar are both stuffffffy. Super congested. Additionally, there's houses and I believe a car shop near-by, that causes further congestion in the surrounding area. BUT once you are parked and in, you will have a warm-time. I had a friend who used to go and pick up tamales at Remington's, decades ago, and share them with me. I've never been inside. I knew their food was consistently reliable based on the fact that people are still crowding its parking lot. Remington's sits on a long stretch of road with two major towns at each end: College Park and Laurel. There have been nights - decades ago - in bad weather, driving along this long stretch of road where nothing else in the densely built suburban landscape to the left and right of it was open. But Remington's faithfully was and still is with its lit sign. Sort of like a true outpost in an old Western. Remington's is all bar stools, bar and high-top tables unless you are eating at the picnic tables or smoking cigars and sipping whiskey on the covered outdoor patio. But if you want to eat indoors, I think there are only 4 standard tables in the restaurant. This is a clean and comfortable dive bar atmosphere with tv monitors for sports. Yelp asked if Remington's was intimate, and yes, because it is small and cozy. I wonder if Remington's hasn't gotten fancy - in food and beverages - over the years to keep pace with the not-so-distant University of Maryland students. Since I've never been inside before, I wouldn't know how it used to be. Our crowd appeared as locals, less elite and middle-aged gathered for the FIFA games. I was surprised to find - in the outpost-like atmosphere Remington's has always been located in - most burgers are over $18. But this is one place where I'm not complaining because the food was darn good. Let's start with the mussels. If I were a Belgian chef I do not think that I could have made these mussels - and their glorious broth - better. The mussels were tender and flavorful. The cream broth was the best. This broth was the most creamy and simultaneously ultra-garlicky that I've enjoyed. I loved the tomatoes seasoned with a spicy kick tossed in. This is a culinary refinement because if they are actually cooked into the broth, the tomatoes would change the color of the white broth, and its taste. These tomatoes were a welcome touch. I don't know if this is a Maryland style of broth but sign me up. I'm talking a mussel broth love affair over here. The cheesesteak was better than most in this area. I wasn't hallelujah-ing in the aisles but I liked that the meat actually wasn't flimsy. It tasted like a thinly-chopped ribeye, a bit chewy with a sear. I liked the size of the strips. Was it actually steak vs. frozen beef paper slices? I think I can say, "yes," it's actually a cheese steak." The Reuben sandwich was well seasoned. I think it was thousand island, but whatever it was had a nice flavor. It's not easy to find a place where you can order Reuben's these days. On Yelp, I saw an Indian Butter Chicken pizza but I didn't find it. I wonder if it could be requested. They have so many varieties of pizza combinations. I'm just taking a wild guess and thinking that their pizzas are as equally flavorful. I ordered a cranberry fruit crush. Yum! Righteously. I don't know if it was juice added to another orange, fruity mixture but I loved it. It was sweet at first and then strong: all in the first sip. Sampled beers: 1. The Main Beer Company's "Lunch" IPA. This is straight grapefruit hops on the palette. A characteristic strong body. Bitter as should be for a New England IPA. 2. Bells Two-Hearted IPA (ABV 7.0%): this one was very drinkable and by that I mean I really enjoyed it. It is brewed with centennial hops from the Pacific Northwest. Yes. It is described as having, "hop aromas ranging from pine to grapefruit." 3. Elysian's Space Dust (ABV 8.2%) is pure IPA. Strong likely from the chinook. It's from Michigan. It's described as a "Great Western premium two row with c-15 and Dextri-pils." Not a beer snob but I appreciate the geeking-out and Dr. Seuss-inspired branding. New England IPA fans will love this one. I'm only a fan of West Coast-style IPA's. 4. RaR Grove City Hefeweisen (ABV 5.3%) is a clear and light hefeweizen. Easy to drink. Highly recommended, with a few added oranges. A half of a ripe white peach would be interesting in this beer, if the bar happened to have them. Remington's markets Whiskey Flights as a way to taste rare bottles. They do not list the prices on these flights. I guess it's an, "if they have to ask ..." scenario. I am intrigued about these whiskey flight prices. I didn't catch the times of happy hour but there is also a golden hour. I also saw daily special weekday prices from 7pm and onward. Maybe this is the golden hour. Like the one restaurant open through rain, wind, sleet and snow, serving up its magic faithfully for decades. Whatever the case, this is one restaurant that appears like a dive bar but over-delivers in food quality and taste. Applause for Remington's!
