We cane back for happy hour! The siblings and i with our spouses came here Tuesday night. They had Loteria that day. Which was fun! We all participated and enjoyed it immensely. I think because Sammy the host is really funny and he makes the game more fun! We were all having a blast and they make great margaritas! We enjoyed the food too. The servers were friendly. The whole vibe of the place is very neighborly and quiet like a whole in the wall thing.

Service was incredibly slow. The shredded chicken chimichanga had nothing else in besides the chicken. The rice and beans was extra. Chips and salsa is also extra. The chimichanga chicken was seasoned well but needed a different flavor in it. This was definitely more bar than eats. Other patrons were loud at the bar. With service being prompt for them and several shots being served while I sat with an empty water cup.

The restaurant is confusing: the signs outside and the receipt refer to Centrado Cafe Shop but inside you can order off two menus: Luchador Bar & Eats and the coffee shop's menu. You order at the counter; there is no wait staff. The staff seemed new and were friendly. Other patrons were drinking coffee; it's more of a coffee shop vibe than anything. A group near us was speaking obscenely loudly in an East Asian language. We had a view of the McDonalds outside and contemplated chicken nuggets in our mouths and salty thin fries burning our tongues as we sat in a book nook confused about it all. It was all a very strange experience. There is no charm or energy to the restaurant. The food, alas, was disappointing. The burrito was subpar and not flavorful or warm. The corn elote was good, but it looked as if someone dumped an entire bottle of sauce on it so it was swimming in sauce. The tamarind agua fresca was delicious but could not carry the experience. I would not return or recommend.

The food was excellent and tasted very authentic. The roasted corn was to die for. It has a seasoned sauce with Mexican cheese layered over it with extra for dipping. So good! We had the enchiladas, chicken and ground beef. Both were good, but I preferred the shredded chicken. Salsa had a unique smoky pepper flavor, but was quite mild. The guac tasted handmade and was excellent. Didn't really like the chips. They didn't have much of a taste on their own, but were served warm. Note there is a charge for chips and salsa, though it's nominal. Service was excellent and Vilma took great care of us. This was meaningful as someone in our party had mobility issues and it would have been difficult to order at the counter. I highly recommend this sweet little spot.

I've been coming here since way before the name Change. The staff is amazing. I've grown fond of them and they always take care of me with a smile. I recently came with my mom and got chicken quesadillas. They are really good. I wouldn't get the mezcal old fashioned again, I'd get woodford reserve in it instead as recommended by my waiter. My mother got the bean enchiladas and she enjoyed it. I love the new coffee shop in the front, it smells amazing. I have to stop by for some soon. They have nice festive fun decor in the back including hanging tacos lol I hear they do karaoke and have dancing with a DJ on weekends. I've come here a lot for dancing. The music is lit! They play Latin and hip hop and you'll be shaking your ass while you sip your drink! It's a fun vibe.

Came here for a friend's birthday and the service was great! A few folks were a few minutes late, and before they had arrived the appetizers had come out. Service was incredible! (Especially with such a large party) We came here on a Saturday afternoon and I appreciated that they were able to sit us all in the back (13 adults and 5 kids). I actually didn't love the regular margarita but absolutely LOVED the tamarind margarita. I ate asada fries and really appreciated that the fries were nice and crunchy. Highly recommend this place!

I loved them before when they were Chapala's, they had music nights of all kinds. They've now changed their name and have a new identity as Luchador. The bands don't play here anymore but they've paid more attention to detail. The menu has down-sized a little but you can basically get your traditional pupusas, fajitas, etc. I ordered some american-style tacos with flour tortilla, ground beef, lettuce, tomato, shredded chez, and a side of sour crm. You can upgrade with rice and beans for $1.99 and it will definitely fill you up with the add-on. The meal total was around $12-13 for 3 tacos with the add-on. The meal was delicious and I'm also looking forward to karaoke on Thursday nights, they added in the beginning of Dec. 2022 with Estrada Sound Entertainment.

I love this place. A little hole in the wall but very family friendly. And the food is delicious. They have the best margaritas in Burtonsville.

We made a last-minute decision to try for some of the nightly jazz (except Monday) at 18th & 21st on a Friday evening (Oct 2025), hip-ly named for the prohibition amendment and repeal :-) There's a free parking garage right across from the entrance of the building they share with a sister restaurant, Cured. We arrived in the bright seasonally-decorated welcoming lobby about 7:50pm. We ought to have made reservations, but in under 10min, the reception staff took us to the more intimate room towards the back where we were seated at at the bar, which is really what we wanted. When we arrived, the 6pm jazz band had just gone on break, so we felt free to chat with friendly regulars and with the bar staff. They have a changing list of ten craft beers from $6 to $21, plus one $6 non-alcoholic brew. Five of the $14-$35 per-glass vintage wines from their list of 17 are preserved with the "corovin" system that keeps air out, so they are never "corked". We focussed on their list of 11 crafted $13-$22 cocktails plus 5 non-alcoholic ones, all made with quality ingredients, each naming the staff member(s) (and guests) who formulated the recipe! We found Alex's $16 Fernetinez sublimely sweet: of bitter fernet amaro, Frederick-based locally-sourced award-winning McClintock One Last Time gin (exclusive for 18th&21st), smooth Luxardo liqueur, and a sweet vermouth. We loved the aroma and flavor of the classic Smoked Old Fashioned of bourbon from Kentucky's 10th-oldest distillery, Green River, moved to a mild well-rounded sweetness by brown sugar simple syrup, smoked in front of me by Mike (if i remember), with added richness from smoky bitters. They have a creative menu of $30 to $65 entrees, plus salads, small plates, apps, and sides, and they have a changing menu of small plates. We really hadn't planned on eating, but we couldn't resist. The $17 duck bao buns had thin tender filets with a sweet lightly-salty apricot-soy glaze and a tangy crunchy pickled cucumber slaw on a soft folded yeasted slightly-sweet white-flour bun. The $12 pair of fried fresh-tasting oysters were sweet and juicy with a light-flavored crunchy crust. They were so yummy, and easy to enjoy with our cocktails. Rodney Kelly's jazz band was excellent, playing with spirit, joking with each other and the audience, even staging a song or two with a skilled member of the restaurant staff. Afterwards we had brief moments with some of the band members, like an intimate jazz club. Later in the evening, i also had a Turkish Sunset, a Manhattan-variation created in a collaboration among the staff and a guest (Well-done Ozzie!). I love Elijah Craig, and wanted to try their dry toasted rye, with housemade allspice dram syrup, Small Hands grenadine, and bitters. By now, i felt very much at home with the staff, and when i learned that one of them had helped formulate this beverage, i confided that its amazing complexity was, for me, just a touch too dry. Alex (if i remember) considered the ingredients and the target flavors, and added just a touch of a sweet lemony liqueur, perfectly complimenting the recipe's flavors! Real-time crafting goes above and beyond, Thank you! (And when they next update the menu, maybe they'll have a custom option named for me :-)

I had…read moremy reservations about this restaurant for a number of reasons, which a lot of things were dispelled as it had been mostly a good experience. They were doing a great job on service, cordial, answered questions, & food was solid. It was when the bill came. I was going to tip 20% for his good service, but I was pissed when there was an automatic 18% gratuity added to the bill for just two of us. That was so obnoxious. That's the crap they'd do in DC with their Initiative 82 nonsense. Or it is common practice for a large enough party to do forced 18% or whatever gratuity, which still is annoying. 90% of the time I'm tipping at least 18%, but what about the other 10% where the service sucks, slow, &/or surly?! They are subsidizing lousy servers with that guaranteed 18%. This place opened maybe last summer or so, and it was kind of a nice addition to Corridor Marketplace. I wasn't terribly interested in spicy Caribbean food, granted not all spicy. It's a Caribbean-Italian fusion. I checked the menu online not long after they opened and before deciding to finally give this local place in my neighborhood a try when they were nice enough to give 20% off. I determined the food is strange although they had some stuff that might be appealing but seemed overprice. $36 for lasagna seems steep to me, but it's oxtail lasagna so some fancy beef I suppose. Initially, I tried calling to make my reservation on Monday, but no one answered and then realized Monday is the day they are closed. I called 3 times on Tuesday afternoon, but no one answered, which was a bit of a negative. However, while on my 3rd call to them, I was on a walk, and I decided I'd try walking in since I wasn't all that far from Catherine's on my walk. The restaurant was dead as it was about 3:30 in the afternoon, and the server was nice getting my reservation in for an early dinner on Thursday as I had a meeting at 7 PM and also something enough I was ideally trying to do before that. My friend & fellow Russett resident arrived on time. We discussed the red ropes and carpeting outside, which I've always thought was too much. It blocks almost the entire sidewalk over there, which was one thing that turned me off to the restaurant originally. My older friend who walks with a cane made an interesting comment I didn't think of but agreed that it could be hazardous to someone with a cane, elderly, or handicap. Although I don't think the red rope/carpeting is necessary at all, perhaps they could consider pulling it back some. We were seated at a white table cloth seats. They have booth/table combinations, individual tables of varying sizes, and the bar area. Server promptly came over. The place is nicely decorated with good lighting, but was quite warm as the big windows brought in the hot sun even though it was only maybe 60 F outside, but I'm sure in the summer & when it's legitimately warm outside they have the AC cranking. I just water as I wanted to be clearheaded for the 7 PM meeting, but I heard from another neighbor there that the sangria drink was good & strong. My friend ordered a drink, but it never came for her, which she didn't care, but that was an error on their part. I asked the server several questions about his recommendations & various other aspects of the menu. I settled on what I had originally had leaned to when I had looked at the menu online and the Yelp reviews I saw. I got the rasta pasta with chicken. My friend got the oxtail lasagna. Although I'm not big on spicy foods in general, and the rasta pasta was pretty spicy, it still wasn't so ridiculously spicy that it detracted on the good taste. The portion size was bigger than I realized, which was a plus too. I could've pigged out and eaten the whole sucker, but I decided to not overeat and save half as a leftover. Based on some reviews/pics, I was thinking the rasta pasta wasn't going to be that big, and that it'd be one sitting. In 2024, my girlfriend & I had gone to an Italian restaurant, where the portion size was not much where I didn't have leftovers, which was annoying for the price there, and I had no 20% off or any sort of discount. I asked to try a bite of my friend's oxtail lasagna as I was curious to see what oxtail was all about. It was very good, but it's still not worth $36 although debatable with the 20% off about $29, I would've been satisfied with it. Further, it looked bigger than I was thinking. Water refill came in a timely enough manner, which always important. It had been overall a pleasant experience, and I was ready to give 4-stars, but as I said before the forced 18% gratuity was a big turnoff, which lowered it to 3-stars. Forced gratuity is a major turnoff. I might've considered coming back with the high full prices, but I won't come back with that forced gratuity nonsense.

This is only my 23rd 1-star review and crazy the 2nd business in this shopping center! See my 1-star review of Tropical Smoothie Cafe written last week (updated from my 2023 2-star review) of them. Maybe 1-2 years ago I ordered my food, and then asked for a cup of water. The guy said we have bottled water for sale, and I said no, just a free cup of water with my meal. He said we don't do that here, and told him I'm not giving any money and to cancel my order. I suggested to him that they should start giving courtesy cups of water with meal. A few months ago I was over there, and I wanted to test if Naz's changed a year later. They still didn't. The cashier said that all the Naz's don't offer the courtesy cup except for Columbia location as they had taken over the Halal Guys, which the set up of the restaurant was different for the coke machine. I've considered to try the Columbia location once, but I'm skeptical because it's still Naz's company policy to not offer courtesy cup of water to a paying food customer. It's not just that the Burtonsville only location are being jerks; it's Naz's as a whole. On Sunday, July 13, as a hail mary after the 1-star Burtonsville Tropical Smoothie Cafe right next door (see my recent review) was going to charge me $1.35 per cup of water even though we would've been paying customers. I said to my girlfriend, I'm sure Naz's will deny the water too, but let's test them, and I asked do you give a free cup of water with meal, which cashier once again said no. So, we ended up at ISAAC's across the street. I'll get around to a 5-star review of them in the future. My girlfriend said this shopping center sucks! Only Tropical Smoothie to not give courtesy cup + Naz's right next door. Also, it's the worst Roy Rogers location even though in March 2019, I see I wrote a 4-star review; various more recent experiences warrant 2-star for them if I ever get around to it. And the worst Greene Turtle I've been to; see my 3-star of the Burtonsville location. For good restaurants, go across the street to ISAAC's, Playa Bowl, or even freakin' Chipotle!
