A few of my friends and I checked out Mangos Grill for the first time and had a nice lunch. Each of us tried a different margarita, and they were all tasty and refreshing. The special Apple Cider Reposado margarita was good but we didn't taste any of the cider, just straight up tequila but it was good. You can also order margaritas in passion fruit, mango, strawberry, and hibiscus flavors. They get extra points because of the passion fruit flavor. The complimentary chips were okay, but the salsa stood out, it had an authentic/in house made flavor. For the main meals, everyone at the table was satisfied. We had an order of the shrimp and chicken fajitas, beef floutas and the salmon a la parrilla, grilled salmon topped with homemade mango salsa served with mixed green salad, rice & beans. The mango salsa was tasty but I didn't like how runny it was. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the restaurant itself looked clean and well-kept, which made the whole experience more enjoyable. I would come back and try a few other items on the menu. The online menu is a bit different from what we had in person, I didn't see the mussels on the menu given to us in the restaurant. Happy Hour is from 3-7pm. This is a solid spot for a casual night out with friends for good margaritas, authentic touches, and a welcoming atmosphere. read more

I came here for happy hour and was glad I did. It was empty in here surprisingly, due to the other reviews I expected it to be packed. You get complimentary chips and dip. The chips were nice and hot. I ordered the wings, queso dip, and pork tamale. The sauce that accompanies the tamales was very flavorful. I do wish they'd also serve it with sour cream for balance. My drink was good with the right amount of alcohol. The restaurant has a nice amount of seating and the staff is very friendly and inviting. I'll most definitely be back. read more

Went for Happy Hour per recommendations and so glad we did! I started out with the passion fruit margarita ( a bit too sweet for me but good ) & my husband had the Spicy margarita. They have a bar, but no stools to sit at... you can be near it though! The happy hour is Monday-Friday from 3:00-6:30, and it was around 5:30 when I arrived. Thankfully, this is one of those spots that provides chips & salsa once you're settled... yay! That salsa was really good -- flavorful, and I could tell it was homemade. I started off with a margarita that was really good! Then I got guacamole, an order of tamales and a sangrita later on. Food was very healthy. Took my 3yrs old 1yrs old and wife who's Nigerian. I Thought it would be unpleasant for family. It was not. We got a nice family feeling and warm waitresses and owner who catered to us. Food was extraordinarily good and we now will be returning on a regular. Was it the best Mexican that I had? No, BUT it was really good . . . especially when you are in a bind. Also, the menu has a great variety of Mexican (and non-Mexican) dishes. The prices of the dishes was pretty fair, and there is a generous happy hour special that includes $5 margaritas. If you like your food spicy, then you definitely should ask for the home-made, onion-, pepper-based hot sauce. I that that back because it was more like a spicy chutney rather than a sauce. Fresh cold water, thin and crispy chips, salsa, and we were even able to ask for a spicier salsa mix. The seating area is simple, clean, and has well spaced tables and chairs. The menu is awesome and exciting! So many great choices and I can't wait to try these scrumptious offerings. We ordered the mixed ceviche which was on point and so refreshing! Yummy! Fajitas al Carbon: large portion sizes, the 2 tortillas were filled with steak that was cooked and seasoned perfectly! The rice was even so tasty and their guac is created well! 2. Taquitos: I get the beef ones every time I order from here. They're filled with shredded beef that is so tender and flavorful! I'm grateful that it comes with lots of sour cream, guac, and pico. 3. Tamales Mexicanos: I can't say enough about these... They taste like your grandmother made them *chef's kiss" 4. Nachos Mariachi : I ordered these to go and they sat in the container too long, so the nachos lost their crunch. However, the flavor and build of these nachos was incredible! Just don't order them to go. 5. Pupusas: I didn't think the pupusas would be that good but they were! 6. Yuca con chicharron: One of the best meals here! The pork was cooked too perfection. I just prefer some type of sauce, as eating the yuca as is makes the dish dry. 7. Tamal de Elote: again, just like how your grandma would make it. However, I prefer mine a little sweeter. 8. Carne Asada: perfectly seasoned! Would prefer in the restaurant because you need to eat the carne asada when it's first cooked. Eating this to go loses the magic. I will come here again and again. I've only had the food to go (always pickup, not delivery), and they have never failed me! I haven't found a dish yet that wasn't seasoned and cooked well! Started with the crab empanadas, and I should've just had3 orders of those for dinner - because I could've just kept going. Sharing the 2 empanadas between 3 of us just wasn't enough. They were crunchy on the outside, and a creamy deliciousness on the inside. I ordered the shrimp and spinach quesadilla which was a nice change to the normal chicken quesadilla. There has never been a time when we visit this establishment and we have had a bad experience! We came on a Friday evening and weren't busy. The owner is amazing and greets all of his customers. Service is wonderful and they are very attentive. The food came out quickly and was sooooo delicious. We had gotten through half of our meal when I realized I forgot to take pictures. We ordered a couple of rounds of drinks, and if you like sangria and margaritas then you'll love their sangritas! Lastly dessert was a bread pudding for myself and mango sherbet for the little. We got the Crab Empanadas and Chicken Tamales for appetizer, the Crab Empanadas was yummy, the Tamales ok. I got the Mango Grill Combo which consists of Shrimp, Chicken and Steak Fajitas with Rice and Beans. Everything was good except the Rice was dry and the Beans not that flavorful. My Hubby got the Laurel Platter which basically is the same thing I had but he got it with Quail instead. He said it was tender and delicious. Been back in MD since March and couldn't find the perfect small family type Mexican restaurant I wanted until now. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome and the food is just like a home cooked meal. Even the tamales, which are so hard to find as authentic, were awesome. We ordered the crab empanadas as an appetizer and I'm almost sorry that I didn't use them as a meal because they were great. My husband ordered the three enchilada platter which came with rice and pinto beans and I got the Patron platter which had the tamale, a cheese chili relleno and a chicken enchilada, also with rice and pinto beans. We were seated immediately and fresh, hot tortilla chips with a homemade salsa were put down on the table right away. I will say, I'm a salsa snob and I really enjoyed all the flavors! This was by far one of the best tres leches cakes I've ever had. I ordered a large order as a birthday cake for my sister @rachelamandac and she loved it! The cake order even came with whip cream. You can bet that I'll get a cake order again the next time I need tres leches for a party. The next day I had to try the rest of the menu out. The steak tacos were yummy and I would order it again. What a nice spot for a cheap meal during happy hour. Happy hour is Monday thru Friday 3-7 and we came during this time. We ordered garlic shrimp, chorizo queso dip, chicken quesadilla and beef tacos. Garlic shrimp wasn't good at all-- the shrimp was way over cooked and rubbery and the garlic sauce tasted like straight up white wine. No alcohol seemed to be cooked out of it. Chorizo queso dip was unseasoned and flavorless. The star to me was the chicken quesadilla. The chicken was so delicious and flavorful. It came with guacamole, pico, and sour cream. A nice sized portion for $5 but again we came on happy hour so I was pleased with that. There were only two servers working and the place got busy fairly quickly. It was hard to get refills, food took a little while to come, however the server herself was amazing when she was able to come around. I would come back to try different food but hopefully they won't be as busy/or with more servers to help out. You can't beat the price and the service was nice and inviting. We love this place, we live in Baltimore but come for special occasions, we just came for Father's Day and as always great food and service, this is a different location then before but it's the same restaurant. The Trea leche cake and Carne Asada are a all time fave. This visit we got the fajita mix and Hubby got the quail. I ordered the taco platter that came with three tacos (I chose chicken) topped with lettuce, tomatoes and shredded cheese and a side of Mexican rice to share with my boyfriend. I also ordered a cheese pupusa and a pork pupusa. My tacos were tasty, but the pupusas were not the greatest, and the pork one had way too much grease so I gave it away. My sister in law ordered the steak fajitas, and although I didn't try it, it looked really good. My sweet tooth couldn't let me leave without trying the sopapillas so I got an order of that. Aside from two that were eaten, I basically ate the entire thing, including the ice cream. The sopapillas were very thin and light so it wasn't that hard to consume it all for myself lol.
