We'll start with the positives first. I went here for my sister's birthday lunch expecting your regular run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere was lively, service was genuinely great, and everything came out quickly. Staff was attentive, drinks arrived fast, and the guacamole was outstanding. That's where the positives end. ASK FOR THE PRICES. As I mentioned, I expected a normal Mexican restaurant experience and didn't think twice before ordering. Big mistake. The menu is extremely deceptive because many prices are not clearly listed. I ordered the Cantarito Mundial (a clay cup-style Mexican Paloma with Don Julio), my wife ordered a michelada, and we also ordered another World Cup special drink for a friend since we were celebrating a birthday. Food-wise, the pulpo al fuego was disappointing. The octopus was overcooked, rubbery, and lacked flavor. My wife's drink was also underwhelming. Then the bill came. For just my wife and me: almost $300. I expected the octopus to be expensive at $65! that part didn't shock me. But the drinks? Completely different story. The Cantarito Mundial was $60. Yes, sixty dollars for one drink. The soccer boot slushie drink was $45. Those prices would maybe make sense if the food and drinks were exceptional, but they weren't. Mediocre food at luxury pricing. I walked out feeling stunned and honestly deceived. Not because it was expensive, but because the pricing wasn't transparent and I never expected drinks to cost that much without clear disclosure. It left a really bad feeling after what was supposed to be a birthday celebration. Randomly pick this restaurant on a Saturday night. I was surprised how busy it was. I found a seat in the bar area. The area was very loud and the restaurant had a loud reggaeton music the whole time I was there. The music didn't bother me, But it maybe too loud for your liking.....just saying. The food was ok. Margarita Monday, oh why not. After allowing for the hype of this place to fizzle some, decided to pass thru for a random margarita on a random Monday. Hmmm.. well. Had to clear my pallet with a simple corona. Ordered 2 HH street tacos that came out not really like street tacos due to their size. Tried 1 chicken, 1 carnitas; very dry. Had to ask for hot sauce which was generic chulua. Not sure what the appeal is. Music playing was the equivalent to listening to rap on replay. Decided to hit up Amigos after work and honestly... I need to go more often. That place is always jumping. The food is good, service was on time and the drinks are strong , and the atmosphere is exactly what you want after a long day. It's very much "I'm not cooking dinner let's just go to Amigos" vibes. This was the local spot I was not expecting to love but Frye best first time experience. The food was amazing. We got the surf and turf tacos and the Beria tacos so good so freshly made everything hit out of the park. We also got the Mojito flight and the El Salvadorita. The drinks were very good and a little strong so you know that's what we like. The service was speedy and well friendly we couldn't have asked for a better first time experience the music and the atmosphere was also amazing. This is a fast food restaurant. Like get in and get out! We arrived during around 5ish on a Friday. They do not have Happy Hour on Fridays. No problem. Got to our seat, and wait staff was present and ready. Mojito flight came out very quick, followed by our entrees. Then while in conversation, the waitress would come over every 10 minutes to see if there was anything else. This would have been fine, but after a while it just felt like she was trying to get us out of there. Even to the point when we were on our last mojito, she takes our chips and salsa. I had a great time at the Amigis Mexican grill! Came on a busy Saturday night with family but even so, they were able to accommodate all 7 of us pretty quickly. Drinks were great! A tiny bit on the pricy side imo but they give you a bang for the buck especially since there aren't too many restaurants that I've seen with this type of ambiance in the area. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because the food was kind of "meh". I ordered some TexMex tacos and being from Texas, my palette has been used to a certain type of TexMex flavor so it was just different from that standpoint but everything else was great! Went to this spot to have drinks with a friend . When I pulled into the restaurant the lot was full and I know why. The vibe in the place was fun and lively. The drinks were gorgeous, strong and tasted as pretty as they looked. Hey friends! This review is for two recent visits here. I ordered the veggie nachos. They were really nasty. No flavor and the toppings were just thrown on top of the cold chips. I got a drink that was really pretty and strong, unfortunately I can't remember the name and it was a seasonal drink. The first thought that immediately comes to mind when I think of Amigos is that this place has massive portions for a really affordable price! Then, to add to that, the vibes here were great. So, we came here late Saturday night (around 11pm) with a huge appetite and got seated fairly quickly. Our waiter was fairly attentive, however, in my opinion she truly struggled to give me genuine recommendations (they had an extensive menu). I eventually decided on the Fajita Molcajete and the Sangria. For the value (a total of $44), the portions were grand! As it pertains to my fajita dish, the serving size allowed me to have three servings and still be full each time! As it pertains to the flavoring of the dish, I unfortunately felt that my dish was lacking in seasoning. I also found it very interesting that they charged for extra dressing for the side salad (one of the people for our party needed more dressing for her side salad) and for tortillas for the large fajita dish (it comes with three tortillas). Overall, we had a good experience. I was just a little underwhelmed by my food since I heard so many great things about their dishes, however, I am willing to try another dish (maybe the Birria Tacos) to see why most rave about the food here. read more

Food Value Portions Atmosphere Service I came here from L.A. AND I've been to Mexico multiple times. So I'm pretty well versed in Mexican food. The food here at Amigos was good and authentic Mexican. Servers were really nice and friendly. The vibe was good. You get chips and salsa when you sit down and it was tasty. The drinks were presented very well, my drink was a little sweet to my liking but the bartender fixed it quickly with no hesitation. Great service. Price is fair for what you get. Overall 4.3/5 Highlight: Laurel needed some good Mexican food that was different than Uncle Julio's or Banditos. Amigos feels the gap. Food 1.4/2 - Amigos has only three designated vegetarian main dishes that includes enchiladas, mushroom street tacos, and vegetarian fajitas. We got two of the three to try. From previous experience, we know to ask for the spiciest sauce on side to make sure the food tastes great. We put on the spicy sauce in everything and I was surprisingly surprised at the flavor profile. Everything was good, however, the oil was too much in the mushrooms. I would have liked a bit less oil but the coleslaw mix on the tacos was making the texture and flavor perfect. The fresh guacamole was amazing. I could go next time just for that and wouldn't need anything else, as long as I get the spicy sauce. We also got the street corn but without the mayo to keep it eggless. My wife enjoyed it so much that I only got one bite of it. Overall the food was great but has lots of room to improve. I would also like to see if they can offer more vegetarian choices as well. Service 1/1 Service was amazing. Waiter was very attentive even though the place was packed. He listened well, was friendly, and ensured everything was as expected. The food came out quick as well. I appreciated the service. Drinks - 1.2/1.5 The drinks were great. They tasted well and were not underwhelming. The kick was there, which tends to be my issues with many places but at Amigos, drinks had a nice balance. Decor 0.6/1 - the place is fine, but could use some touch ups. The path to the restroom should be cleared out. Also, the place was feeling hot, needed some more AC. I liked the bar area's decoration more than the dining hall as it was more lively. I was facing the restroom side wall and I felt that it was dull and could use better lighting and decoration to hide being able to see through the wall cutouts. read more

From the moment we walked in, this place had an incredible vibe. There was upbeat music that wasn't too loud. The tacos were absolutely phenomenal. Each one was bursting with flavor. We tried a variety, and every bite was better than the last. The margaritas were flavorful and they had a wide range of different tequilas tequilas. What really made the experience stand out was the service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do. Seems like their fajitas are their specialty and it didn't disappoint. Huge portion. I've never had fajita with salmon, scallops, OR bacon-wrapped shrimp before. So it's pretty original and different. I wasn't a big fan of the veggies because the onions were a little undercooked. The salmon and scallops were delicious. The bacon wrapped shrimp were a bit hard and overcooked. The rice and beans were good. Super packed in there, space is a bit tight so have to be careful walking to the bathroom and avoiding servers. No wait & we were seated right away. To start I wanted an order of fries...I had expectations of potato fries like the ones from Guapos! lol however, these were more like cajun fries and they were just OK. I could've honestly done without them but you know how we do sometimes when our heads bigger than our tummies! Lol Since the fries threw me of, for dinner I ordered a shrimp quesadilla that came with all the fixings...a side of rice and beans & the Mexican Street Corn. Thinking you can't go wrong with these items......... My food was bland and lacked flavor... :-/ I was really disappointed. My rice was tough...and my beans tasted like I was eating air...my quesadilla was deceiving...as yummy as it looked it needed something...sazon, adobo...something! For me the Mexican Street Corn had too much mayo and not enough cojita cheese crumbles. lol My hunnie on the other hand enjoyed his steak street tacos. When you walk in the place it has really nice decor. The decorations are very inviting. Came in for just drinks with friends and ended up ordering the fajitas with chicken, steak and shrimp. This is authentic Mexican food, the service is top tier from the bar to the floor servers, very friendly and attentive, they pay attention to the details. I lost my AirPods on my first visit, gave me an excuse to come back, received the same great service and the manger had my AirPods waiting for me. We had dinner here tonight. It was pricey but well worth it. We saw the $18 price tag on guac and steered clear of that. The queso was a large portion and a side of jalapeños tacks on another $1.50, and you choose how much to add. The tamal de elote was so so good, and again you dress it with as much of the mayo cream and cotija cheese you want, which I like being able to control. The birria tacos were hella greasy and punched with so much meat, it felt like there was a magic compartment where more meat was regenerating. They did taste mind-blowingly splendid! The veggie burrito was exquisite! I like how they keep some beans whole and annihilate others into a paste, giving a really interesting texture on the tongue. The Mexican Coke was served as a bottle and the mango beverage was homemade, fresh, and delicious. The ambiance was excellent, bright abd colorful inside with glass blown lamps and decor, the bar was lively and cozy, the dining room was open but had a combination of tables and booths. Also, the service from Roberto was fantabulous--attentive, friendly, consistent, professional, accommodating, and knowledgeable. It's kinda loud inside and they also do a very loud clapping and singing number when there's a birthday. And there was a birthday kid at the next table. Joy! Went for a family birthday. There were about 40 of us, all ages. I'm just reviewing what went on in my corner of the They were very generous with the chips and salsa. Super fresh! Drinks- I took forever to order my drink, ending up with a pineapple margarita with chunks of fresh pineapple in a large glass. Pina Colada's come in a pineapple. Be aware the margarita flights are in actual glasses. You get 3 full sized A bit much at 2pm. I ordered shrimp and chicken chimichangas My daughter ordered chicken and shrimp fajitas. My food was good, though a bit heavy. The veggies with the fajitas included broccoli and zucchini were seasoned perfectly. The weird thing is someone ordered veggie fajitas which didn't have as many vegetables as my daughter's. We were in a tent so I really didn't see the restaurant. It seemed as if everyone was really enjoying themselves. Here's a tip. If you're with a large group - everyone paying together should order at the same time so your charges show up together. Or you could spend 30 minutes breaking down a bill that's 2 feet long. Just saying ‍ We enjoyed ourselves. I doubt I'd go again. The vibes here are great! I went here with a friend on a sunny day so we got to sit on the patio. Several people were there on their birthdays and the staff came out with the whole obnoxious birthday song and the birthday people loved it. In general service was pretty slow so be prepared to be patient. The food was average...I got the birria tacos with rice and beans. It was lacking seasoning but all the basic components were there. My friend's food looked really good tho. She got the fajita tacos. I also ordered a sangria which was pretty good. So pretty much come here for vibes and drinks and food to soak up the drinks. I did order the mango habanero wings to go and they looked pretty good. Soooo just avoid the birria tacos? Ha...I'll be back to try more things and then I'll update my review. read more
