DGD treated me to a birthday lunch here and wow, was it great! We requested to sit on the patio and were seated immediately. Chips and salsa came right away and it was hard not to eat too much, it was so tasty! The chips were fresh and hot with the perfect amount of salt; salsa was medium hot, just right for my spicy preference. After a very short wait - maybe 5 minutes, tops - our server came to take our order. The food arrived within 10 minutes. We shared nachos supreme with beef (ground beef) and four street tacos with carnitas. I can't begin to tell you how hard it was not to gobble down every bit. The carnitas were spiced perfectly and were moist and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The ground beef was, as well. The vegetables in both dishes - lettuce, onion, tomato, jalapeño - were fresh as can be. DGD enjoyed a strawberry Jarisco, while I stuck with water. The reason we held back from gorging on this feast was a planned stop at Coldstone after ;) Service was excellent, food was delicious. Parking is mildly annoying but that's just me. It's in a large shopping center and there's never any parking right in front of the businesses on the main entrance street. But we didn't have to walk far, just across an interior street from the parking shared with a theater. It's free, so a little walk is OK. With tip it was around $50 I think, but as DGD treated me, I wasn't involved in paying. Worth another visit, regardless. read more

I cannot rave enough about Querétaro Restaurant. The inside is super cute, clean and welcoming. This restaurant is family owned, and feels like home. The food is authentic and made fresh daily. The owners are very personable and friendly. The margaritas are not from a bottle. Freshly made daily with fresh fruits. My favorite go to meal is the street tacos, but the empanadas, red snapper, carne asada, the rice are all absolutely delicious. Macro friendly, willing to adjust any meal. So disappointing, on multiple levels. Sunday was gorgeous! Sunny and 80 degrees, finally, the icy snowy winter seemed far behind. We wanted someplace where we could have a light dinner outside. On sight this looked perfect, nice crowd, and we hadn't been there before. We went inside, it was dark, sparse, no patrons really. We found this spot while in the Gambrills area running some errands. It is around what looked like the town center with so many other food options and a theater, but this spot stood out as we were seated a few minutes upon arrival on a Friday evening. But as the night went on it got a little busier. I had the horchata to drink, which was amazing. Then I ordered the carné asada dinner special which was a huge portion of rice, beans, amazing steak, tomatoes with a side of tortillas to make your own tacos. The food was so tasty and not spicy hot but well seasoned. I had a good amount but also had some leftovers for lunch the next day. They have a nice seating area outside which we took advantage of. They brought complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were house made and really nice and crispy. I had a Carnitas Burrito, my daughter had a Bean and Cheese Burrito, My wife's father (a vegetarian) had the Spinach Enchiladas, and my sister had the Pollo Arriero. Everyone loved their food. My partner and I got food poisoning or at the least, really upset stomachs immediately after eating it (this was the only thing we ate today so far), where we had to speed home to catch the bathroom in time. While I imagine the lease/rent costs of this place in Wahls Chapel is not cheap, $25.00 for 3 tacos, with very minimal flavor, that causes an upset stomach is unacceptable. The inside is quite nice, lots of beautiful art and lighting but I think the food and customer service is lacking. This place is top tier! Their Taco Tuesday special is a phenomenal deal and the tacos are tasty and filling! They have great margaritas, as well! Chips and salsa is free. Our group always orders queso and guacamole. The staff here are the best. They are the friendliest, nicest people and they deserve your business. We never have to wait long for a table and we usually prefer to sit outside. Dogs are allowed in the outdoor seating area. The outdoor seating is not fully covered, but each table has its own umbrella that provides a lot of shade from the sun or weather. Free parking is readily available on the street or surrounding lots. We love this place and come whenever we get the craving. read more

I've been here twice and both times were excellent. Service was great, food was excellent, and prices are very reasonable. Its located in Waugh Chapel so there is plenty of parking available. There are two entrances, so it convenient because if you have to park in the back, you don't have to walk around to the front but just come through the back door. Both times we've been, there were not a lot of people so food came out at reasonable times. There are so many options on the menu that it is impossible not to find something that you like. I will admit that as a keto dieter, it was hard to find something low carb but the taco salad is my go-to. It comes in a tortilla bowl but I don't eat the bowl. Pretty sure you could probably order it on a plate instead but I like at least tasting a bit of the bowl. It's so good! I really enjoy coming to this place. Not sure why this place is still open. Authentic? I think not. We walked in the back door and there was someone laying out on the chairs. We walked in to every last person on the wait staff on their phones sitting at the bar and on the booths. Guests were all seated outside and we had to wait for someone to bus a table that clearly was left dirty for some time because the busboy had to scrap the dried salsa off the table.
