Chimichangas!
Calvin H.

Every time we go we get sat right away and the restaurant is always busy, they have the best service in Crofton. Hot tortilla chips right when you sit down and the food always comes out very hot and delicious. The enchilada dinner is fantastic and the chimichangas.

Chicken nachos

Mi Casita: By far, the worst Mexican Restaurant I've ever been to. This restaurant doesn't deserve a 1 star review. Their chips & salsa were bland like plain canned tomato sauce. Their chicken nachos were terrible, and was nothing more than chips with shredded chicken & cheese, they forgot to include any flavor. Their margueritas were the worst ever. We ordered two jumbo margueritas with Tajin after asking if they had Tajin and received two margueritas with salt. The server stated "we ran out of Tajin yesterday", and he opted for salt instead. Returned these for nothing on the rim and the next two tasted like lemonade, returned these also. On top of this, the server seemed to have a poor attitude like he didn't want to be at work. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone unless your preference is a minus 5 star restaurant with crappie food, fake drinks and poor service.

Chicken tamales. Super seco (super dry).
Teresa H.

Weve been here on a couple of occasions. The food is good but tends to be salty but this last visit bring the holidays and after seeing they offered tamales to go I decided to order some since I hadn't had any yet this year. My fiancé is Honduran so I'm very used to their tamales but I thought I'd try something different. I found both the mass and the chicken to be terribly dried out and the whole thing was salty. I'm used to moist masa that may not be very flavorful cuz the inside ingredients are flavorful so the two go well together. These only had chicken inside.i guess I'll just stick to Honduran tamales.

Steak taco lunch special

Upon arrival, it almost seemed like a ghost town. A couple was preparing to leave as I entered but there wasn't anyone in the ordering area. The decor is lovely inside. Soon after we arrived, someone came in to take my order. My daughter had a taste for churros, which is why we chose this spot on this particular day. We ordered churros, the steak taco special, kid's quesadilla and fries. The wait time was quick, about 5 minutes. The food held up well during a 15 minute drive and was still piping hot. The steak tacos came with pico and guacamole and was really good. They also came with a side of rice and beans. I didn't care for the beans. My daughter liked her quesadilla and fries. She didn't really like the filing inside the churros. She said it tasted cheesy. Overall, I found the meal overpriced for what it was. I spent $30 for two tacos, a mini quesadilla and 3 churros. It didn't seem worth the price, and I ordered the lunch special. Also, the menu mentions that meals get free chips and salsa which we didn't. I guess that's for dine-in customers only.

The food is smashing here. I mean did they put an angel back in the kitchen cuz the food tastes Godly. I got the steak quesadilla which I just started drooling thinking about it. The chips & salsa were also a good mix and the chips were so fresh. I had a few of the Cadillac Margaritas, this drinks had me feel righteous. The only thing that I didn't like was the seating. The bench that we were sitting on was horrible on the back as if they said don't stay too long hurry up and eat. Get something more comfortable and I'll be there often.

Finally a perfect meal! Love this spot but the food has been so salty!!! Service is pretty good. The ambiance is okay little dated but very clean. So finally learned to ask for no salt on the food & it was PERFECT!! Still full of flavor!!

Taco Salad w/ steak

It's a very cozy environment. The server came over promptly after we were seated and was patient while we decided on our order. It's a large menu. My daughter chose the taco salad, but was disappointed with it. She didn't like the beans and she had already mixed it all up. I couldn't decide, so I decided on chicken quesadillas and mixed fajitas. I didn't like the beans either, but everything else with the fajitas was delicious. I didn't like the quesadilla as it had a lot of juice because of the chicken and it made it soggy. My husband ordered the Hawaiian fajitas and loved it. Overall, we thought the food was good and we would return.

Chile Relleno Lunch 1

I ordered the Chile relleno and unfortunately, I've had better. There was lack of flavor, and the rice and beans were off. I ended up adding garlic and Sazon when I got home, but nothing could save the rice.

I am so glad I decided to check out this spot! It is AUTHENTIC! I was craving tacos today (Taco Tuesday)! I was looking for a nice spot in the Gambrills area that had street tacos that you can mix! I found it . I ordered their street tacos. It came with four ( 2 carnitas, a steak, and chicken) They were so good and the portion size was amazing! It is served with rice & beans. To compliment the meal, I ordered the big 20 oz cadillac marg. Overall bang for your buck. The manager Dorian was super nice, introduced his self, and made sure my visit was no less than amazing! I sat at the bar. The bar only has two seats. It was perfect for me since I was by myself. Keep that in mind if you are solo and want bar interaction. I will def be back. Thank you for the hospitality

Not disappointed at all. Warm welcoming from the host. Small spot but accommodating. Service was friendly and fast. Typically, not a fan of re-fried beans and rice but this place makes it really good and it was paired perfectly with their delicious tacos. Margaritas were made to perfection! Even the chips and salsa was slapping! (That means good) We'll be back for sure!

Ask the Community - Mi Casita Restaurant

I want to try this place but can't have a lot of salt. Are there dishes that don't have too much?

Probably, but generally speaking, Mexican and other foods from hot climates are high in sodium. People who sweat more require higher sodium intake.

A poker tournament was going on. We sat at the bar and what I will say is everyone was pleasant and welcoming. We were immediately invited into several conversations happening. I was told many food items on the menu were exceptional; the menu consisted of bar food such as burgers, BLT, steamed shrimp, mozzarella sticks, fries and a few other items I cannot recall. I ordered the steamed shrimp which were extremely bland, could tell they were frozen and overcooked. I have never not enjoyed steamed shrimp but these were the exception they also had a strong bleach smell. My partner ordered the turkey burger and didn't rave about it but also didn't complain about it. Nothing was life changing from what I could see that others were ordering. Seems that this is a place for drinking, camaraderie, and entertainment as there are also pool tables which I believe were free to use. No rush to return but if looking for an inviting place to play pool will return. One thing I did not like is that their are no small tables to sit your drink while playing pool as I was raised that you need to have your eyes on your drink when out in public at all times. Being told to leave my drink at the bar while playing pool did not sit well with me so I didn't drink.

Food and service so good you'll forget you're in a mall parking lot!…read more We were out running errands and decided to grab a bite. Unfamiliar with the area, I jumped on yelp and found The Farmhouse with its 4.4 star rating. So there we went. The Waugh Chapel area is a giant shopping center. Wegmans, Old Navy, Verizon, etc. The Farmhouse is in a new building near the man road. Their whole thing is farm to fork, with some herbs and greens grown on site and others sourced locally. The service is great! Fast and friendly. Instead of bread or rolls, they warm you up with some country style homemade cornbread. Freshly baked, cast iron skillet, with butter and syrup. Yum! We had the meatloaf and the chicken and chicken and biscuits. The meatloaf was tasty, with homemade mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked fresh green beans. The chicken and biscuits is kind of like a chicken pot pie without the crust. The biscuits are on top so you can decide how much bread you want. The vegetables are nice and fresh, and the chicken is perfect white meat. A++ on both entrees. For dessert we had half-baked, which is an ooey gooey cookie and a brownie in a cast iron skillet topped with ice cream. We liked it, but next time I'll probably have just ice cream because the ice cream was absolutely perfect. Where are you? Stevensville? Baltimore? Solomon's? Alexandria? DC? You should make the drive to Waugh Chapel Station and get some fresh, delicious, better- than-home-cooked food.

When we arrived, our table appeared to be ready right at our reservation time, but we still had to wait to be seated. It wasn't a long delay, but it was a bit confusing and felt like a service issue. The ambience is beautiful and well done, and the bathrooms were clean. The food itself was solid across the board, and the chicken and biscuit was actually even better the next day as leftovers. Unfortunately, the service was the biggest drawback. Refills only happened when we asked, and splitting checks for a large group was more difficult than expected. At one point when a correction was needed, a member of our party noticed the server visibly rolling her eyes, which didn't help the experience. Drinks are also served by the can rather than fountain style, which made them feel overpriced without refills. For a place that presents as upscale, the experience shouldn't feel nickel-and-dimed. Overall, nice atmosphere and good food, but the service needs improvement before I'd consider returning.
