I don't even know the last time I've had such amazing Mexican food....all this time, I thought the places we were going were great. Surprise! Senior Chile Cafe has them all beat! It's a small place compared to a few of the larger places in our area, but that's just fine. This restaurant is worthy of your time! I was looking for something out of the norm and I was not disappointed! From the moment we walked into this lively restaurant to the wonderful aromas, we knew this was going to be a stellar experience! We were greeted promptly and told we could pick a table. We were promptly brought menus and asked for what drinks we wanted. I opted for a Tropical Pina Margarita and hubby got Sandia Chile Margarita. Came very quick and we liked them so much we got another. We could have stopped at the house made salsa that had a smoky flavor and didn't look like it was poured from a jar in the back. The chips were outstanding. We opted to get some queso dip and it was just as good! Better than any other place we have had it. For dinner, my hubby opted for the Cameron Tacos on corn tortillas as he is a celiac. He remarked that it was the first time that he had corn tacos that were *solid*-meaning the taco stayed in shape and didn't fall apart while eating. The slaw was crispy, not overpowering, the pico de gallo was spicy, but not in the burn your tongue sense. He also liked the accompanying black beans and rice. I had Michelin Tacos. The first bite of mine was a bacon wrapped shrimp in a flour taco with a very pleasing sauce. The second one I had was chicken and it was just amazing. Nice slices of chicken with a pretty spicy sauce. Since I'm a big fan of spicy, this was amazing! The last one was steak, and I mean a nice piece of steak! Very tender, not overcooked! I couldn't tell you my favorite, because they were all equally delicious. Juan took very good care of us! Great evening and we will most certainly be back! To all of you that may like the *larger restaurants* on Ritchie Highway, please do yourself a favor and seek one of these stores out! We live closest to the Severna Park location, but all the stores seem to get good feedback! This is so out of the ordinary and definitely worthy of your time! read more

Ok, I don't normally pick a restaurant for the silly name and fun logo, but I'm glad I did. This place was really quite good. I sat at the bar for lunch. They handed me this thing off chips with salsa that was enough for five regular people or two Joshuas. The chips were good, fresh, slightly warm. The salsa was fantastic, though a little cilantro forward for someone who thinks it's soap. I ordered a chicken chimichanga for my main. I'll be honest, I'm not sure what came out qualifies as a chimichanga -- it wasn't deeply fried (or baked), and was covered with a cheese sauce like a smothered burrito. Maybe someone sent me the wrong thing? I don't bite. But, it was delicious. The sauce actually greatly complemented everything, and it was evenly seasoned. I'll definitely be back the next time I pass that way. read more

Senor Chile Cafe - This was supposed to be a chimichanga. I think I got the wrong thing, but it was delicious either way. - Mexican Near Me - Severna Park, Maryland

I came in for dinner this and ordered the Cantina Crunchwrap. It's built on a 12" flour tortilla stacked with queso, beans, Mexican cheese, a crispy tostada, lettuce, pico, and your choice of protein, all wrapped up and sealed with more cheese. It comes with salsa and sour cream on the side. What really stood out to me was the amount of protein options--they give you a lot to pick from. I went with lengua, and it ended up being the perfect choice. Tender, well seasoned, and honestly just delicious. This location feels like it's about one-third the size of the Arnold spot, but the service here still has that same team-oriented flow I like. Even in a smaller space, multiple staff members kept an eye on things, and I never had to flag anyone down. The food quality is just as solid as the Arnold location, and everything I've had between the two has been consistently good. The Severna Park location has a more compact, cozy feel, but it still works well for a casual dinner or a quick bite. And if you're coming alone or with a small group, the size actually makes it feel a bit more personal. Overall, the Crunchwrap hit the mark, the lengua was a standout, and the service was exactly what I expect from Señor Chile. I'd definitely come back to this location. read more

I have been here twice! This is officially my favorite Mexican place in MD! The tortilla chips are warm and fresh and the salsa that comes with are amazing. It legit makes you want to make your own, or at least ask if they sell it. I landed both times on the carne asada fajitas! Amazing the amount of both meat and veggies! The cactus is delicious yes Cactus! Fransico was our sever today, he was awesome! My hubby got a burrito and some empanadas to share. Amazing I will definitely be coming here as long as we live in Maryland. The fajita are definitely shareable . Great location great service read more

The food is so good! Even just the fajitas veggie mix we ordered on the side. Our server was attentive and friendly. And, it was actually a nice day to eat outside. Sometimes I forget how good this place is but I love being reminded. This was a first for breakfast though. read more

This location is one of several in the Annapolis area. This service location is in the Severna Park area. The service and food at this locale is excellent. 5-star. The service is spectacular as in attentive and efficient. The food is first rate and consists of tasty, sizeable portions. This locale for this chain is worth a visit. Go and enjoy. **We rate this type of restaurant for what it is where it is. We've found better 5-star experiences in other geographic areas but, this assertion in no way undermines our assessment of this operation in this area. read more

This was the second visit to the Severna Park location by our women's group. This location has limited seating. This time, the manager refused to do separate checks as they had done for us before. We did have to ask them to turn the music down, because it was deafening and we could not hear to talk. I ordered two chicken street tacos, which were tasty & a good value. My friends ordered the empanadas and a Burrito bowl. One person ordered queso with ground beef and asked that it come out with the rest of the food, but they brought that out first. Even thought it was not busy when we arrived at 11:30, it was hard to get any attention to order drinks, to place our order, to request a box, and to ask for the bill. We had to wait & wave someone down. The staff is friendly enough, and there were three front of the house staff there, but no one ever came back to see if we we needed anything. I think they are geared more for the carry out business. read more

This little Mexican spot may be small, but it packs a big punch! Inside it is very colorful. The Al Pastore tacos are incredible perfectly marinated, tender and full of flavor. The fresh toppings and warm tortillas make each bite delicious. The service is just as impressive, friendly, welcoming, and always eager to make sure you have a great experience. Great food--tacos, burrito, fajita--and drinks. Great service too. Fairly small and noisy, but okay atmosphere. We'll be back.

My new favorite Mexican restaurant! Sure, it's "smallish" inside, but all is "made up" by the explosion of freshness and flavor! I spend a lot of time in Texas and Oklahoma, and I'm telling you, "Señor Chile" stands with the best of them. "I shall return!" read more

Fun Mexican food and drinks in a small cafe-like hard chair environment, casual and can be loud. Busy so you might wait for a table during peak dining hours. Many menu options and portions are large, and tasty. Salads, including Southwestern with salmon available as well as street tacos, and numerous entrees. Good margaritas and other cocktails. Service okay. read more

Senor Chile in Severna Park is now our go to place for Mexican takeout. The food has been very good. We wouldn't eat there, however. The place is cute, but every time we've been there music was blasting. read more

Went here for Cinco De Mayo and come to find out they cancelled their Happy Hour to basically capitalize on the people coming out to celebrate. The bar tenders were slow and wouldn't let you run a tab, had to pay each time on their hand held device. They didn't even have Mexican music, but they did have a band playing older pop music. I had left another Mexican resturant to come here unfortunately. That place had Happy Hour specials that were gonna run all day and street tacos on grill, Mexican music and give aways. It was like leaving a fine dining resturant to go to Mcdonalds read more

Came here last week for early dinner. The interior is on the smaller end with under 10 tables. I ordered a margarita with splash of oj and it was good. For food we ordered the carne asada fries and Baja fish tacos. The fries were great. However, the Baja fish tacos missed the mark for me because they weren't crunchy batter wise. It was kind of soggy and fishy. When we first came in, there was only a few tables seated but by the time we got our food the restaurant was full. The server did the best she could do but seemed like they need to add at least another server to the schedule because she was the only one taking orders and making the drinks. Definitely want to try their edgewater location since others seem to rave about that location. Definitely decent Mexican food for the area though, will try other items next time. read more

holy moly, this place blew our minds today... First, we were not expecting much-a strip mall kind of restaurant with a small eat in area, open from early to late...generally a sign that things are not going to be terrific. We had a chore nearby and went with low expectations. But we were in for quite the shock: From the complimentary chips and salsa (best chips we've ever had-crisp, thin, flavorful, fresh) to the wonderful service (thanks Francisco!) to the truly chef quality exquisite food, we were saying "wow" throughout our entire meal... Our appetizers were Street Corn-delicious, and Empanadas (in the top 3 ever-only Carrol's Creek in this area is higher on our list) I had the Shrimp with Vodka Cream Sauce and it stood up proudly as beautiful a dish as we've had at Cafe Mezzanote and Nonna's. I even think this version beats them out...perfection-and heaven-on a plate! Husband had Faji Enchiladas and could not stop singing its praises. It is rare that we leave a restaurant where everything was outstanding. We were wracking our brains to find anything that was not stellar. We failed miserably-and happily-so...This place is THE BOMB! read more

My family and I have enjoyed this spot. The only downside is that it's small and gets quite busy. The margaritas selection is wonderful the guacamole is amazing. I tried the pasta last time just to order outside the box and it was so delicious and huge. I've also tried the specials lobster taco and salmon salad to name a few. Most people rave about the baria tacos while they are good they are a bit heavy to me but my kids get them and I cook with the leftover sauce at home so bonus! read more

Good service and good food. It is a small place so the waiting is long especially on a Friday.

My husband and I LOVE this place! He always gets the birria tacos and I like to try something different every time I go. We love the queso and chips (they're so thin and crispy) and the portions for everything are pretty generous. The cost is worth it. Service was great when we dined in, but it is a tight space. Take out has been good to us too. Overall, a great addition to SP! read more

The menu is a little confusing and large. I settled on a salad with chicken and shrimp. Small portions. Large price. $21.20 to be exact. For that price I can get almost 2 chipotle bowls, or 2 entrees at Cafe Rio. This was barely an adult serving. I did ask for double portions to. I'll be back to see if this improves. If not, plenty of other spots. The service was fast. I was the only person in there. But, they also managed to get my order incorrect. I did not want a item, I repeated that multiple times. The place is very clean and very charming. It is nicely decorated with a Sugar Skull and Day of the dead theme. There is a bar to! This place has potential. It just needs to tweak a few things. Running a restaurant is hard work, consistency, repeat. Too many words on the menu. Small portions. Charming ambiance. Bar. Nice tables and chairs. Tasty food. Nice location on the end corner of a strip plaza. read more

When I tell you this place was everything and more, it was everything and more. We arrived just in time before the crowd started rolling in. The food was flavorful and piping hot. Very good food here. The complimentary chips with salsa to start were delicious. The chips are thin, crispy, easy to eat and the salsa is a bit spicy but very flavorful. The birria tacos were crunchy, flavorful with a substantial amount of meat. The consommé is great. More chunks of meat in the dip. I got a side of guac with my tacos. I wish they gave more. We also got empanadas which comes covered in lettuce. Pretty solid. Staff here is friendly and the restaurant itself is relatively small with a bar. The food alone is worth coming back for. read more

I had just arrived home from a trip in South America hours before so I did not want to cook but wanted to keep the theme of good food going and I'm glad I gave Senor Chile a try! I went for brunch on a Sunday morning and there was no wait at all! They had a breakfast and regular menu available so we ordered from both. The food was phenomenal with pretty large portions. The carne asada was excellent and my friend got a breakfast quesadilla. The quesadilla was huge! We'll certainly be back! I fell in love with the food at Señor Chile in Edgewater, but I like going to this one because the servers are nicer. I always get el macho with the habañero/onions on the side and it is so so good! There's a piece of fat here and there, but it's not loaded like some other places. They also cook the pork on the grill so it's not mushy like pulled pork. Their salsa and chips are complimentary and delicious. Their people's margaritas is super tasty. I also want to add that I really appreciate the consistency in their food. Sometimes I go places where the food tastes better on the busier days like the weekends. Not Señor Chile! The food tastes great all the time. The only thing is that there isn't much room at this location for big groups of people. read more

This was our first time at this restaurant. It was packed, they served complementary chips and salsa. The salsa was mild, but very flavorful. I got the Baja tacos, it was sooo goood, my mother got three types of tacos and she enjoyed the fish and chicken tacos more than the shrimp taco. The server kinda leaves you alone until you call for them. The drinks were ok. I got a pineapple margarita and it wasn't good, they swapped it out for the berry margarita which was better. I could feel it about half way through the replacement for sure. I'll be back for sure. read more
