Ok, I don't normally pick a restaurant for the silly name and fun logo, but I'm glad I did. This place was really quite good. I sat at the bar for lunch. They handed me this thing off chips with salsa that was enough for five regular people or two Joshuas. The chips were good, fresh, slightly warm. The salsa was fantastic, though a little cilantro forward for someone who thinks it's soap. I ordered a chicken chimichanga for my main. I'll be honest, I'm not sure what came out qualifies as a chimichanga -- it wasn't deeply fried (or baked), and was covered with a cheese sauce like a smothered burrito. Maybe someone sent me the wrong thing? I don't bite. But, it was delicious. The sauce actually greatly complemented everything, and it was evenly seasoned. I came in for dinner this and ordered the Cantina Crunchwrap. It's built on a 12" flour tortilla stacked with queso, beans, Mexican cheese, a crispy tostada, lettuce, pico, and your choice of protein, all wrapped up and sealed with more cheese. It comes with salsa and sour cream on the side. What really stood out to me was the amount of protein options--they give you a lot to pick from. I went with lengua, and it ended up being the perfect choice. Tender, well seasoned, and honestly just delicious. This location feels like it's about one-third the size of the Arnold spot, but the service here still has that same team-oriented flow I like. Even in a smaller space, multiple staff members kept an eye on things, and I never had to flag anyone down. The food quality is just as solid as the Arnold location, and everything I've had between the two has been consistently good. The Severna Park location has a more compact, cozy feel, but it still works well for a casual dinner or a quick bite. And if you're coming alone or with a small group, the size actually makes it feel a bit more personal. Overall, the Crunchwrap hit the mark, the lengua was a standout, and the service was exactly what I expect from Señor Chile. I'd definitely come back to this location. read more

I have been here twice! This is officially my favorite Mexican place in MD! The tortilla chips are warm and fresh and the salsa that comes with are amazing. It legit makes you want to make your own, or at least ask if they sell it. I landed both times on the carne asada fajitas! Amazing the amount of both meat and veggies! The cactus is delicious yes Cactus! Fransico was our sever today, he was awesome! My hubby got a burrito and some empanadas to share. Went here for Cinco De Mayo and come to find out they cancelled their Happy Hour to basically capitalize on the people coming out to celebrate. The bar tenders were slow and wouldn't let you run a tab, had to pay each time on their hand held device. They didn't even have Mexican music, but they did have a band playing older pop music. I had left another Mexican resturant to come here unfortunately. That place had Happy Hour specials that were gonna run all day and street tacos on grill, Mexican music and give aways. This was the second visit to the Severna Park location by our women's group. This location has limited seating. This time, the manager refused to do separate checks as they had done for us before. We did have to ask them to turn the music down, because it was deafening and we could not hear to talk. I ordered two chicken street tacos, which were tasty & a good value. My friends ordered the empanadas and a Burrito bowl. One person ordered queso with ground beef and asked that it come out with the rest of the food, but they brought that out first. Even thought it was not busy when we arrived at 11:30, it was hard to get any attention to order drinks, to place our order, to request a box, and to ask for the bill. We had to wait & wave someone down. The staff is friendly enough, and there were three front of the house staff there, but no one ever came back to see if we we needed anything. holy moly, this place blew our minds today... First, we were not expecting much-a strip mall kind of restaurant with a small eat in area, open from early to late...generally a sign that things are not going to be terrific. We had a chore nearby and went with low expectations. But we were in for quite the shock: From the complimentary chips and salsa (best chips we've ever had-crisp, thin, flavorful, fresh) to the wonderful service (thanks Francisco!) to the truly chef quality exquisite food, we were saying "wow" throughout our entire meal... Our appetizers were Street Corn-delicious, and Empanadas (in the top 3 ever-only Carrol's Creek in this area is higher on our list) I had the Shrimp with Vodka Cream Sauce and it stood up proudly as beautiful a dish as we've had at Cafe Mezzanote and Nonna's. I even think this version beats them out...perfection-and heaven-on a plate! Husband had Faji Enchiladas and could not stop singing its praises. Came here last week for early dinner. The interior is on the smaller end with under 10 tables. I ordered a margarita with splash of oj and it was good. For food we ordered the carne asada fries and Baja fish tacos. The fries were great. However, the Baja fish tacos missed the mark for me because they weren't crunchy batter wise. It was kind of soggy and fishy. When we first came in, there was only a few tables seated but by the time we got our food the restaurant was full. The server did the best she could do but seemed like they need to add at least another server to the schedule because she was the only one taking orders and making the drinks. Definitely want to try their edgewater location since others seem to rave about that location. Definitely decent Mexican food for the area though, will try other items next time. read more

My family and I have enjoyed this spot. The only downside is that it's small and gets quite busy. The margaritas selection is wonderful the guacamole is amazing. I tried the pasta last time just to order outside the box and it was so delicious and huge. I've also tried the specials lobster taco and salmon salad to name a few. Most people rave about the baria tacos while they are good they are a bit heavy to me but my kids get them and I cook with the leftover sauce at home so bonus! read more

The menu is a little confusing and large. I settled on a salad with chicken and shrimp. Small portions. Large price. $21.20 to be exact. For that price I can get almost 2 chipotle bowls, or 2 entrees at Cafe Rio. This was barely an adult serving. I did ask for double portions to. I'll be back to see if this improves. If not, plenty of other spots. The service was fast. I was the only person in there. But, they also managed to get my order incorrect. I did not want a item, I repeated that multiple times. The place is very clean and very charming. It is nicely decorated with a Sugar Skull and Day of the dead theme. There is a bar to! This place has potential. It just needs to tweak a few things. I fell in love with the food at Señor Chile in Edgewater, but I like going to this one because the servers are nicer. I always get el macho with the habañero/onions on the side and it is so so good! There's a piece of fat here and there, but it's not loaded like some other places. They also cook the pork on the grill so it's not mushy like pulled pork. Their salsa and chips are complimentary and delicious. Their people's margaritas is super tasty. I also want to add that I really appreciate the consistency in their food. Sometimes I go places where the food tastes better on the busier days like the weekends. Not Señor Chile! The food tastes great all the time. Very good food here. The complimentary chips with salsa to start were delicious. The chips are thin, crispy, easy to eat and the salsa is a bit spicy but very flavorful. The birria tacos were crunchy, flavorful with a substantial amount of meat. The consommé is great. More chunks of meat in the dip. I got a side of guac with my tacos. I wish they gave more. We also got empanadas which comes covered in lettuce. Pretty solid. Staff here is friendly and the restaurant itself is relatively small with a bar. Love Senor Chile cafe! My husband and I go there often. The guacamole is better than other restaurants out here. Freshly made and delicious. I'd be happy just to eat that. I'm originally from California and this restaurant is as good as the ones I grew up with in L.A. We both recommend their sombrero salad with chicken or shrimp ( comes with plenty of yummy grilled veggies, lettuce, etc.), their enchiladas (especially the mole ones), their taquitos and their tacos. Went here for a birthday celebration. It was crowded and loud on a Thursday night. All our standard expectations were met; free, flowing chips and salsa, heavy pour margaritas, and a good assortment of your typical Tex-Mex/south of the border fare. The staff was smiling (a trait which seems to be going extinct), and although they were busy, they were attentive and considerate. Food was served in a timely manner, the plates were delicious, and they even brought out the birthday sombrero to wear while the staff sang happy birthday. Not really a stop off every day after work for a quick bite type of joint, but would definitely go back for a semi-special event. read more
