    Free shot for trivia

Continuing to 5 zip codes past my home to Arnold 21012. This will be the end going east as I've never been to any places in Cape St. Clair. I went to Mother's Peninsula Grille one time on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. It was with an Annapolis area based Meetup social group for trivia night. I knew a couple of the people from another Meetup I was in and thought it'd be worth the drive all the way east to here that Tuesday night. Burger was excellent. I got an egg on the burger, yum! Service was good as I recall. Trivia was a lot of fun. We even got a free shot for the whole table for getting a specific question right or winning a round or something. Think it was like a lemon drop. The only issue was that the acoustics were bad for the trivia and was hard to hear the questions being read, so posed a bit more challenging as it was noisy. I'd go back here for trivia or otherwise. However, on a sad note, the very next morning I went to my office and to do some work travel that afternoon. My dad called at 9:15 AM breaking up about our family dog dying. I still did the work travel that afternoon but I was despondent and numb the rest of the day. In spite of the negative of the next day, I'd still go back here as I remember the good food and fun time here.

Very few beans, tomatoes and tortilla strips

I ordered a Southwest Caesar salad, which has always been my go-to order when I want a salad from this area. There were exactly 3 cherry tomatoes and a SMATTERING of beans and tortilla strips. It was VERY underwhelming, especially at a price tag of $19!

Yumm! No disappointments here! Wings cooked to perfections. Ranch and blue cheese has the dill taste perfection. And live music and trivia nights are cool nights to hang. Bar tenders make the drinks just right and so far no issues with whoever is serving. Definitely a place for fun, food, music and good vibes ! Enjoy !

    Prime Rib

Stopped by on a Thursday evening and if you are a "regular" here, you know what night it is! I, on the other hand am not a regular so I was surprised that it is Prime Rib Night! I was very excited to try their prime rib. This isn't my first time here but it is a bit further than I would like to drive for dinner but for whatever reason, I did and I have no regrets. My server, Amber, a very sweet young lady took care of us, personable and funny. I enjoyed speaking with her about their live music later that night and other promotions that are at Mother's. My prime rib came out and it was so tender, hot, juicy, flavorful...I hared it! I hated that it was gone in no time I look forward to returning on another Thursday night for Prime Rib Night and I will get here earlier as they do sell out.

I called to place the order, and the guy couldn't hear me. When I called back, there was silence on the line until I said "hello" a few times, followed by a blunt "Yeah, what can I do for you?" slightly off-putting, but I placed the order. When I arrived, the place was empty and looked clean. The food was ready, and I was in and out quickly. As for the food: The Fries: These were excellent. They were hot, well-seasoned, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. I really enjoyed them. The Burger: This was the letdown. I got the Black & Bleu, and while the toppings (bleu cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, brioche bun) were fresh and tasty, the meat itself was lackluster. They looked like two smash patties, but they had zero crust and absolutely no seasoning. No salt, no pepper, nothing. Honestly, if it weren't for the toppings, the burger would have been hard to eat because the meat was just plain and bland. I ate it because I was hungry, but for a "Pub and Ale House," the burger really needs to be seasoned properly. Between the awkward service and the flavorless patties, I can only give it 2 stars.

All the outdoor seating was full, and inside there was only one table available. Most of the tables are larger, so we noticed some groups sharing space, which actually worked out fine. The restaurant has a great open-air feel even indoors thanks to the large garage-style door that opens up an entire wall. For drinks, my wife ordered iced tea and I had a Peach Mule. The mule was good, but next time I'd skip the rim garnish. They also have a big beer selection, and the prices seemed very reasonable. For food, we ordered the brisket burger (single patty with cheese, topped with shaved brisket, jalapeño slaw, raw onion, pickles, and sauce). They offer a deal where you can add a side and drink for $5, so we added onion rings and also ordered the Serpent Fries as an appetizer. The fries came out first and looked great and they did not disappoint. Fresh cut with bacon, pico, scallions, and a serpent sauce (seemed like a beer cheese). Really flavorful, I did ask for ranch, which was an extra $0.50. I understand charging for extras, but not everyone uses ketchup or mustard, so that felt a little unnecessary. The burger came out shortly after, and it was excellent. We split it, and it was packed with flavor. Honestly, adding bacon would make it even better a "Triple B" (Bacon, Brisket, Burger) would be perfect. The only letdown was the onion rings. The onions inside were very thin and overcooked, leaving them dried out with little flavor. Even without the over-frying, the onions themselves just didn't have much taste. Definitely something they could improve. Overall, it's a great spot for burgers and fries, and we'll definitely be back for that. We saw other dishes come out that looked good too, so there's more to try next time.

The service was great, friendly and fairly fast for such a large group. Unfortunately that was the only good aspect of this. The drinks were served in plastic disposable cups. Very wasteful. If I had known I would've just brought my own reusable water bottle. When the food came, several burgers were cooked incorrectly. I got a veggie and cheese quesadilla and the buffalo cauliflower appetizer. The quesadilla was alright but way too oily. It was basically sopping in oil. The sides of pico and sour cream came in tiny plastic containers and seemed store bought; the sour cream was separated with overly thick cream surrounded by liquid. The cauliflower was supposed to be "flash fried" (whatever that means) but it was honestly terrible. Soggy and mushy and soaked in a super strong buffalo sauce. The other people in the group who ordered burgers commented that their food was dry. This place honestly should be treated as a bar where you'll come to drink their extensive offering of alcohol. The food was pretty terrible and I will not be coming back for it.

Started with the cream of crab, which was rich, hot, and perfectly seasoned , smooth, comforting, and exactly what you hope for when you order it. What really made the night, though, was Jenna. She set the tone the moment we walked in and kept everything running smoothly the entire meal. When the service is that good, it elevates the whole experience and that's exactly what happened here. I am glad we did. First off, looks can be deceiving. Part of the reason I've never come here before is because from outside, it looks like a dodgy sports bar. And while the inside is most definitely for sports fans, with plenty of memorabilia and TVs, imagine my shock when I got a taste of the service, the food, and the overall vibe of the establishment. Our server was a very nice young woman who did a great job of checking on us without coming off as overeager. My brother and I aren't big drinkers, but that didn't dissuade her from not giving us as much attention as other patrons with bigger tabs. I ordered the french dip and my brother got boneless wings tossed in the honey old bay sauce. This is definitely elevated bar food (with great portion sizes to boot): my sandwich had freshly baked bread and came with fresh cut fries and a savory au jus. My brother commented and said his wings tasted like they were battered and fried to order. The prices are moderate -- given the level of service, the taste of the food, and the portions, we definitely felt like we got our money's worth. I'm happy to add this to place to my rotation -- just proof once again that sometimes the best places are the most unassuming!
