I do not write five star reviews often, but The Social has earned every star. With a new head chef and kitchen team, and a new and exciting menu. Our local neighborhood restaurant just went from one of our faves to probably number two (just behind The Garten). The welcoming and friendly service is truly exceptional. The general manager is focused and attentive, and clearly his leadership has infected his staff with superior service performance and exceptional food quality. The bartenders are great and the atmosphere is always fun and lively. The Thursday half-price bottles of wine is always a wonderful treat too! I heard about the social thru one of my co-workers. I hear they have a good happy Hour. I was here with a neighbor of mine and we were out and about and decided to have lunch here. The food was pretty good. They have a special on the wings on Wednesdays. The service was prompt and friendly. The bartender seated us right away. We actually arrived around noon time so we were the first ones there. I ordered the fried green tomatoes and the buffalo wings. Which came with celery and your choice of dressing. The food was average. Nothing to brag about but I would return to try the crab dip. I heard it was good and I am a fan of any cheese crab dip. I enjoyed my wings. The fried green tomatoes could have been cooked a little longer to suit my taste but it wasn't bad. Just a little hard to cut through with the knife. I'm interested in trying out their early evening. The new thanksgiving menu has so many new options we were hard pressed to know where to start. This menu that they kept after Thanksgiving beats the entire old menu. We had the Rockfish puttanesca with Squid Ink pasta yes squid ink pasta is on the menu in severna park. We've had to go to Baltimore restaurants just to find this. And The social had a few squid ink pasta options on that menu. I hope they keep a lot of what was on the Thanksgiving menu for the winter menu. It is perfect. Please revamp the regular menu! We had such a wonderful dinner at The Social in Severna Park on Saturday night! From start to finish, everything was excellent. The restaurant was very kid-friendly, and the wait staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. A special thank you to our waitress, Sam, who was funny, kind, and accommodating. We started with a complimentary bread basket, which was a nice touch. For the kids, we ordered the cheeseburger and chicken tenders meals. Both were very good, but I have to say--the chicken tenders were hands down the BEST we've ever had for our kids while dining out. For my entrée, I had the avocado salad--it was fresh and a good size portion wise. My husband enjoyed a Caesar salad and steak, both of which he said were delicious. He also ordered a margarita and a Voodoo Ranger beer, while I had a red blend wine by the glass that was so good I ended up ordering two! We couldn't resist ordering the carrot cake for dessert, lol! Time to nourish on a busy weekend, I came upon The Social on the stretch of Ritchie Hwy. As the sun melted away the early morning snow and fairly open lot, I walked in and the place was quiet. Gentle to the eyes and modern, The Social is bright with open dining spaces. Bar tops and table seating options are plenty while booths are limited to 4 total, 3 towards the restrooms, and one tucked away up front near the bar. The Social's menu offers harvest from the land and sea, and in between, I was happy to see one of my desired salad, their take on it of course, the Winter Cranberry. I added grilled shrimp (+12 for 6pcs), dressing on the side, and it satisfied. The service was short. Enough just to serve, but nothing beyond "we hope to see you again!" type. Visited here today and the ambiance is nice and chill but quiet. We ordered wings for the appetizer; they were fresh and nice size. The flavor ordered was Thai chili and Old Bay. Came here on Sunday to celebrate my nieces 18th birthday and our family had a great time! We rented out the patio for her party and found that it was spacious. They let us use the TV so that way we could display pictures from her growing up all the way through age 18. They set up a buffet for us and we felt like the food had great variety. All-in-all my sister and brother-in-law were saying that the bill was not too large for a party of about 50, which was a great surprise. I went to The Social for a work outing and they were friendly and accommodating leading up to and during the event. They had a happy hour for appetizers and alcohol on the day of the event (which was Sunday). Service was attentive. The environment inside the heated patio was nice. There was a metal rattle when the wind blew that sound like someone dragging a hollow metal tube on the ground occasionally and the wind made the patio sound like a tent at times but did not affect the focus of the party but some folks with sensory issues may or may not pull the focus if you don't like metal tubes pushed on concrete. The drinks were average alcoholic drinks. I ordered the golden hour daiquiri and it tasted like any other rum alcoholic beverage. The chicken cheesesteak was good, I think I would rather have a cheap shredded chicken cheesesteak elsewhere instead of chunks bc it's easier to squeeze the sandwich when eating and less chicken falls out. It came with chopped grilled chicken, your choice of provolone or cooper sharp white American, lettuce, tomato, mayo. The chicken cheesesteak did not taste seasoned but it was not fatty and the consistency was pretty good. The chicken from this sandwich would have been great in a wrap or something that has more flavor. Green peppers or something added for a crunch would have been a nice touch to this sandwich. I ordered the chicken cheesesteak as a "safe" option and do not think I would get it again. I would probably get a chicken Caesar wrap next time I visit the social. I would rate my sandwich a 6/10. My drink a 8.5/10. The environment a 9/10. The service a 10/10. Overall, I would give a combined of 8.5/10 for my time here at The Social Severna Park. read more

I always passed by this place (it's in a shopping center I frequent) and decided to stop by for a happy hour. It's beautiful inside, I love the decor and ambiance (it reminds me of a lounge)). There weren't many people dining (about 5 of us in total) but the service was meh at best. I felt like bartender was more focused on the two ladies he was flirting with than the rest of the patrons. I was able to order two items and a cocktail, but the service ruined the experience for me so I paid and left. I was looking forward to trying their fried chicken deviled eggs but was told it wasn't on the menu at the time and settled for the smoked salmon deviled eggs instead (meh) and the crab and pimento balls (it was good). I went there last night and was able to get seated at the high table at the bar right away. The seats were really comfortable and the vibe was nice. Our waiter was attentive without being too much. We orders the orange crush which was on special for $8. It was not strong but it was still good. We ordered the brussels sprouts and they were flavorful and came in a huge portion. The deviled eggs were fine...not bad but nothing that was too exciting about them. The mussels were really good. The lemon brith sauce they came with were flavorful. I really had hoped to like this new local spot. Maple Bourbon Deviled Eggs Theses were so sweet it was terrible. They were also made they day before and had the refrigerator taste. No Bourbon taste at all. Wisconsin Bacon Brisket Butter Cheeseburger Has a great hype name, and doesn't live up to it at all. The patty was so thin that it felt like a Five Guys Burger. I got the single, so it was a crap ton of bread and barely any meat making the ratio extremely off. Not worth the money. Maybe if i got more patties? You can see in the photo you see no meat to the edge of the bun. The shoe string fries were good. Braised short rib This has great flavor, however, it was so tough that you were chewing on cud. Thanks Yelp for notifying me of another new small business restaurant. Easy to make reservations, ample parking and seating (both indoor and covered patio seating)...and did I mention they also have a kids menu. We tried mostly lite bites....mussels, flat bread, and Irish nachos. All were prepared very well and very quickly. I have to say there drink menu is pretty awesome too...highly recommend the guava and jalapeños mixture...it's a slight pinkish color but do not be fool'd as it packs a pretty strong punch. So disappointing. After reading all of the reviews saying it's great, I genuinely had the most mediocre food ever. I left hungry, feeling like I wasted money and my time. I even just feel bad writing this review. The burger was described as "brisket bacon cheeseburger" as it came out with a bun and a patty with a thin layer of cheese. I added the vegetables to make it feel better but still it wasn't it. My husband had the steak taco trio and it was so tough to eat. I wish we were able to give them the benefit of the doubt that they were busy or maybe they were understaffed, but it was 1200 on Saturday and we were the only ones there. :/ I won't be coming back and I'm disappointed we spent so much money to leave hungry. read more

We arrived almost 30 mins earlier than our reservation time, the staff was great and had our party of 6 seated in 10 minutes. The restaurant itself is very modern almost romantic however it is extremely noisy, so it was quite hard to hear conversations at our own table. The staff was a bit slow but I think understaffed and when I walked to the back of restaurant to use the restroom( you actually walk through a service area and can see into kitchen) almost all the staff was on their phones? I'm sure they weren't looking at orders and that I am sure is why it seemed to take forever for the food and service. The bartenders appeared to be consistently working and actually came out from behind the bar and helped at tables. The food was good, we didn't order large entrees as we all felt we had just been eating non stop ( Thanksgiving weekend) 3 of us ordered burgers and they were really good, one person ordered tomato bisque soup and thought just a bit to garlicky but good. One person ordered the butternut medallions with quinoa. The presentation was beautiful and taste was great but 2 slices of butternut ? For the price was just chinchy. We would probably try again as food was promising. The name of this restaurant describes its ambiance, the restaurant is slightly loud due to the set up of tables. If you are looking for a quiet place this is not it. Decided to go on a date night with my wife and I The Social because of the positive reviews. Was able to reserve a table with Resy with no problems. The restaurant is nicely located on the far corner of a strip mall where there is plenty of parking. They have enclosed outdoor seating with tower heating for those fall or winter nights out. Indoor seating is a little tight. They have a nice sized bar, a row of tower seats, followed by two more rows of tables. There are also 2 or three booth seats towards the back of the restaurant where the kitchen and rest rooms are located. The bar has a nice selection, especially their bourbons (I'm a bourbon and whiskey guy). They even have their own Old Fashion on tap (never heard of that before). Was pretty good I must say. My wife had the lemon drop martinis that she enjoyed quite a bit. Their menu isn't vast but they have a pretty good variety of selections. We chose the Brussels sprouts and mussels as our appetizers. Brussel sprouts were cooked very fell and pretty well seasoned. Could have used a bit more salt but that might just be our palettes. Mussels were awesome. Very flavorful. Both came in good portions. We chose the shrimp po boy and shrimp tacos as our entrees. Both were good choices. Well seasoned with good portions. This is definitely a place we plan on returning to. Last minute date choice turned out so well! I made a reservation and requested a booth and we were sat right away by the welcoming host! I ordered the whiskey sour which was beautifully presented and hit the spot. The brussel sprouts were perfectly cooked and seasoned and the mussels left me wanting more. For our entrees I got the duck confit pasta, SO worth the price. I took half of it home. I typically like adding some tobasco or red pepper flakes or pepper to my pastas but this didn't need anything. My boyfriend ordered the chicken cheese steak sandwich. It came out a bit dry but he just asked for more hots aioli and it was fine. Our server Rich was attentive but also didn't bother us too much which I really appreciate!
