The menu doesn't change weekly, just a few items are added or removed. The service when you have questions or concerns with the bill is awful. The owner becomes beligerent and condescending. I can't in good conscience recommend this place seeing how it was such a vastly different experience from the first visit to the second.

We have been eating at Sam and Maggies since they opened in 2022. The food is extraordinary at prices that you can't find this kind of food for anywhere, especially in the Baltimore/DC corridor! I am talking about food that is fresh, unique, delicious and lovingly plated. Beyond that the service is excellent, the wait-staff members are kind, attentive and prompt. The whole family pitches in here too from Dad & son chefs, dessert from wife Liz and friendly reservations and hosting by mom! They have treated everyone in our party on every visit like family from Day 1. This is one of our favorite places to eat! And, although we did not know anyone when we started visiting here, we quickly grew to know names, details and receive kindness from everyone we came in contact with. This is truly like "Cheers" where everybody knows your name! Some reviews on here imply otherwise, but I cannot even IMAGINE being treated poorly here. I was not there this weekend (had to work), but I can say that I have never seen a raised voice or rudeness in ANYONE at Sam and Maggies in the 3 years we have been frequenting the establishment. The venue IS in a busy marina where it is not safe for minors to run around unattended. Water is everywhere and with so many tragedies on the water, I can see where a sense of urgency might be needed to keep parents aware that this is not a venue for running around. I CAN imagine the owners worried about minors wandering off restaurant property into the marina area or dock area and becoming very upset when this had previously been communicated. The restaurant sits on private marina property and does not have the use or expectation of use for marina facilities (although it does have the BEST sunset on the patio!). To label this family as "rude" seems a bit reactionary. It's OBVIOUS that the restaurant does not allow for wandering as the entire patio is fenced in (customers have to come inside the restaurant to be seated on the patio and leave the same way).

I saw a few posts on FB and realized I'd never heard of this place. Followed instructions and got reservations at 7pm. It's buried down in the Dena but in a gorgeous marina. West facing so we got great sunset views. It was raining so we couldn't eat outside but looks like a nice spot. Drinks: margarita and goose island ipa (bottled) Solid margarita. Very refreshing. Would have loved a salt rim. Good island is good stuff. Apps: Korean spiced cauliflower. Mmmm so good. Just a kick of spice. Very tasty. Mains: crab cake and the pork tacos. Hubby loved the tacos and the chefs own hot sauce but you only get three small ones. Y'all. I got a crab cake. You know I don't usually go for that. It was so good. Lots of lump crab. The corn and pablano salsa was delish. And the roasted potatoes and asparagus were very tasty. Not heavy at all. The anarchistic child got the burger. It had some kind of sauce on it. Probably a good one but our kid is our kid so.... Dessert: ok we got both of them. The spiced brownie and the island bread pudding. The hubby actually moaned outloud over the bread pudding. You all know he's not a dessert guy. I do love bread pudding so went with the brownie. Def spiced but with the cream and fruit, perfectly balanced. Great service from Kendal. Very impressed. My only advice would be to specify on the kids menu for our overly picky eaters and (sadly) add something a hair blander. It's heresy, I know.

So happy to have found this hidden gem! Views are beautiful. Was immediately greeted upon arrival. The service was spot on. The food was delicious. Steak tacos were amazing! Wish the portions were bigger though. Drinks were refreshing. Everything tasted fresh. We will definitely be returning!

What a wonderful meal! The patio has a perfect sunset view of the marina and the crab cakes were excellent. The staff are all friendly and attentive. Wish I was local so I could frequent this place weekly during the summer.

Smoked Fish Dip & Korean Cauliflower

While searching for the best place to eat on the water, Sam & Maggie's popped up as a suggestion. I'm do glad it did. Our dinner was amazing, from appetizers to dessert. My husband loved the smoked fish dip, and the Korean Cauliflower had just the right amount of spice. After hearing the backstory of the Surf & Turf Burger from Chef Jake when he stopped by our table, we decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint! Finished our meal with the Spiced Brownie. We dined outside on the patio and the view of the sunset was breathtaking. We were told the menu changes weekly, so we know we will definitely be back to try another one of their delicious offerings!

Went for a beautiful sunset dinner at Sam & Maggie's. It is a little bit out of the way but worth the drive. First off I heard reservations were recommended so I made a reservation for 8pm. I called ahead so we didn't have to worry about waiting. I was excited I asked for an outside table with a view and ended up with a great view of the sunset and marina right away. To start I had the Spicy pineapple margarita and it was a perfect blend of sweet (but not too sweet) with a little kick (as far as spice and amount of alcohol). Highly recommend! We got the chicken skewers as an appetizer and I ate one before I got my picture it was so good. The chicken is seasoned well without being salty. Many restaurants over-season these days. I also love the grilled pineapple that came with it and the avocado cream sauce. I had the shrimp and polenta for dinner along with Brussel spouts. The shrimp were excellent size and had a nice seasoning and bacon. Sometimes shrimp can be rubbery like they microwave them but this was perfect. The Brussel sprouts had a nice char but were not over cooked or burnt. My husband had the crab cake and it had no filler! I stole a bite and wish I had more! I was worried the asparagus might be over cooked but it still had some crunch. His corn salsa had a real kick to it so be ready. We both liked it but if you don't like spicy (jalapeño I guess) it might be too much for you. My son had the burger and he thought it was great. Although he is not a pineapple guy so he pulled it off. And finally dessert was a decadently rich chocolate brownie. It had some nice fresh berries with it and I loved the combination. Overall I would say it had great service and wonderful food! It is definitely a special occasion place because it is pricey but it was a good value IMO. I thought the food tasted fresh and was seasoned well. I will go again!

Extremely Disappointing Experience -- Wrong Order, No Accountability…read more I've ordered takeout from Judy's Island Grill before and decided to dine in this time with a friend who was trying to support me after a very stressful and traumatic week. She took me out to help ease my anxiety, and we ended up having a very deep and intense conversation throughout the meal. Unfortunately, that experience was overshadowed by what happened with the food and service. We were seated at a dirty table, which we had to ask to be cleaned. Not a great start, but fine -- things happen. I ordered the brown stew salmon. When our food arrived, the server stood there and asked, "Who ordered the jerk salmon?" I immediately said that I did not order jerk -- I ordered brown stew salmon. She responded "OK" and placed the dish in front of me. At that point, I assumed it may have just been a slip of her tongue. The dish didn't overly look like traditional jerk (it wasn't dark or blackened), so I gave it the benefit of the doubt. After just a few bites, my mouth was on fire. It was spicy. I began to wonder if they made their brown stew salmon with a little bit more of a kick than I was used to. Given everything I had going on that day and the nature of the sensitive conversation I was having with my friend, I didn't want to interrupt the moment or make a big issue about the food, so I tried to push through, even though I had to keep drinking water between bites. When the server later came around to check on us, I mentioned that the dish was very spicy and that I suspected it might actually be jerk. The explanation I received was honestly unbelievable!!! The server said to us *The (Hispanic looking) woman who took your order is the manager/owner, and she doesn't know the difference between the two dishes. (The server said this to us!!) She continued: * There is only one button for both jerk salmon and brown stew salmon. Because of that, she (the owner/manager) was supposed to go to the back and explain to the chef that I wanted brown stew instead of jerk -- but she clearly did not do that. Even more concerning, the server admitted she suspected the dish might be wrong when she brought it out -- and served it anyway. Let that sink in. I literally said at the table that I did not order jerk salmon -- and it was still placed in front of me and left there. She did not check with the Chef what order he received. What if I had a food sensitivity or allergy?!????? This is not just poor service -- it's careless. Even more disappointing: No apology. No accountability. No attempt to make it right. Just a full bill as if nothing happened. A manager should absolutely know the difference between two completely different dishes!! This experience left me feeling frustrated, dismissed, and honestly a bit disgusted. Something has clearly changed here, and not for the better. Proceed with caution. A mistake is one thing -- how it's handled is everything. Being served the wrong dish is frustrating -- being told it was known and ignored is unacceptable.

The restaurant is easy to find, with close-by paid parking. I tried the sample plate with curry chicken, white rice, and cabbage. The curry chicken was flavorful and tender -- truly delicious! I was a little surprised to receive white rice instead of rice & peas (which I usually expect with Caribbean dishes), so that was a little disappointing. Their pineapple ginger juice is one of my favorites and it's usually made fresh daily. There have been a couple times it was sold out, but that's rare. The service is always great and very personable. I've never had any issues. The vibe is chill and laid back.
