I've come here for a late lunch on several occasions. It has a nice selection and a happy hour menu. My go to item is the pear chicken salad. I really wish it wad served with goat cheese vs blue cheese. However this salad that's about $23 is very memorable. The Pecans and the grilled chicken and dressing are great. I rarely come for the happy hour here, but appreciate that they have one. If I recall correctly most items are in the $12-$15 range on happy hour and most entrees are in the $20-$40sh range. Lots of casual bites to select from. There are many options in this plaza as well, so it's worth giving it a try. read more

The staff were busy but still made sure to check on each table for their needs. The restaurant had a open flow but still comfortable. The food came out quickly and was very good. We wanted to sample several meals and ordered a standard fish & chips, their signature Tavern Burger and a Salmon BLT. All were tasty and plentiful. We all had midnight snacks to take back with us. I coordinate happy hour events for a local senior women's group. Today, we gathered at Park Tavern. Their happy hour menu applies throughout the restaurant. We had seventeen women who showed up, and they all needed separate checks. Dana took extremely good care of the whole group. The happy hour prices are really reasonable and the food was excellent. They pulled several tables together in the back for us since not all of the older ladies were comfortable on bar stools. WOW--this place is a gem! Not only was the food absolutely incredible, but the staff deserves a standing ovation for their kindness, professionalism, and heart. We came here after a beach day with our two dogs--a Cane Corso and a Frenchie (in a stroller)--because it's a pet-friendly spot. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the host and seated comfortably outdoors. Everything felt perfect... until a nearby diner made an unkind comment about our dogs, claiming we were "ruining the dining experience." She even went as far as complaining to management. Naturally, we were concerned the restaurant might ask us to leave or reconsider their pet-friendly policy--but instead, the exact opposite happened. The amazing staff rallied around us. Our wonderful server Ernie went above and beyond, apologizing sincerely for the situation and reassuring us we were more than welcome. Another kind staff member brought water out for the pups, and to top it off, the talented chef Michael came out to greet us personally and shared stories about his own dogs. We were blown away--not just by the delicious food, but by the people. This restaurant doesn't just deserve praise for its flavors, but for its character. Was told that happy hour was amazing. Definitely not amazing but the price was average. Went on a Monday and the happy hour drink prices were again, average. Had the Tex-Mex rolls, and they were certainly nothing to brag about. The Tex-Mex rolls almost seemed like they were left over from the prior day. I have found the male bartender very pompous and even felt intrusive when I had to ask for another drink. Before I left a review, I thought I would give them another try. Went on Thursday and still received the same reception from the male bartender. The female bartender was friendly and stepped in place of the other bartender. Thursday I ordered the old Bay wings and the caprese flatbread. The wings were very bland and the caprese flatbread looked undercooked, as the flatbread was very pale in color. While I understand, happy hour is at reduced prices, I think they failed to understand this will result in additional or reduced business. I gave it two chances and neither came close to moderate expectations. I didn't have an opportunity to photo the food while plated, here is a photo of the boxed flatbread. Update...this evening I tried a piece of the flatbread and it was completely blah. Even put it in the air fryer to make sure it was crisp, but it was bland and simply non descript. So, a bit on the fence about this place. Ive always wanted to dine here; seemed like a really nice place and of course because of all the reviews. Today, I was VERY DISAPPOINTED. No smile, no acknowledgement, nothing. That shouldve been the indicator, the sign of a soon to be disappointment, but to say the least - maybe she was having a bad day or just didnt feel like being there (I believe she was a hostess since she had menus in her hands and stood beside the heavier set (chubby) hostess when she got back to the podium area). At the bar; was greeted ok...i think. Bartender seemed to have an issue with an irrate customer earlier; something about they have already paid...so basically, the tension/stress at that time was high. No worries - I let it go...but then I noticed: No introduction (Mind you - it was my first time here). No explanation of menu, no - hello, my name is so and so, and blah, blah. All other customers that came in after me and sat at the bar were given - usual; hi my name is, we have brunch today., blah, blah...usual upscale bar service. Even the girl on her cellphone got better treatment as soon as she sat. Bartender engaged with her, spent some time. Ok, yes she was cute and if I was the bartender - of course I would give her more of my attention. Food was ok, typical "bar food." However, no check back from bartenders. No "May I get you anything else or how was everything...usual FOH service. The place was not busy, at all. I could understand if bar was 3 deep, but it was not. So then I thought about - oh these people probably have never had a different person before (besides white/black). Yes; throwing the race card. But I will try to be as positive as I can. It is still bothering me that everyone else were greeted like they were part already of the family or that they were welcomed. (I SURELY DID NOT FEEL WELCOMED, AT ALL). A couple of jokes here and there, explanation of menu, usual FOH sequence of service. Maybe its a "local" only establishment...idk. It should not matter though, because service is service. I was not impressed even though ratings of this restaurant says otherwise. Eveything that Ive asked for was given to me...but I shouldnt have to do that - thats why we are in the hospitality industry, correct? We should always anticipate what our customers need. I am not asking anything for free nor would I want some sort of apology on this matter. I just hope the owners and/or management sees this as an opportunity to improve on FOH service or give "new" customers a reason to come back. By the way - I was the single dinner that ordered a beer and a JW black, neat. That kept on saying - please and thank you. Oh, I did not take my unplesant experience out on your bartenders money. I still gave the typical 20% gratuity ***Im sure your bartender remembers me, as I just left your restaurant***. Im the Asian guy with a green hat, I sat somewhat in the middle of the bar. I ordered a bmore hazy and a neat JW Black and some food. Bartender kept saying "thank you" a lot towards the end. Maybe it dawned on him that I was writing the review when I was still at your restaurant. A little too late in sevice recoverey. I am not wanting anything in return or any freebies nor would I come back to your establishment. You all have your regulars and will still thrive throughout the years. The quality has gone down a lot over the past few years. Both things I ordered were a big disappointment. I ordered wings with buffalo sauce and the sauce tasted nothing like buffalo sauce. I asked if the wrong sauce was used and the waiter said that the chef has his own buffalo sauce recipe and that's why it tasted different. It was barely edible. I also ordered the fried pickles and the portion size and presentation was laughable. $11 for 9 small pickle fries. I like the atmosphere at Park Tavern but I won't be coming back. read more

I recently attended a fundraiser for a friend. I must say that I was impressed with this "Tavern". The bar was full of customers an even the tables were full in the bar area. We joined some folks that had been there for a while and took over their table. The waitress didn't skip a beat, taking our orders right away. We were served fairly quickly considering the volume of people present. We had the Chicken Avocado Club and the Blackened Fish Tacos. Both were delicious. I only came here once and definitely wouldn't give it another try. In fact the rest of the group I was with had the same sentiments. The service was okay, but slow...not just getting the food but even getting drinks. The food though, that what will have me not return. It wasn't that anything was horribly bad..it was bland. From the appetizers to the entrees, if it wasn't a premade sauce on something, the food lacked any type of seasoning or flavor. I ordered the Korean chicken sandwich, the roll was hard and the chicken was actually three chicken tenders stacked; bizarre if you ask me. I begin this post by saying, we are regulars at Park Tavern. Unless we are traveling or it's a special occasion, we come here every Friday night, and sometimes come back for brunch on Sat or Sun. So you may be wondering why I'm not giving 5 stars. The answer is simple, the experience is not always perfect. The food here is good. The menu has a decent amount of healthy options and the flavor infusions can be very unique. But from week to week, there is inconsistency with the temperature and taste of the food. Appetizers: Tex Mex Rolls - Excellent Nachos - Delicious but often come out lukewarm or cold. They feel healthier than your average nachos and when they are hot, they are great, but more often than not, they have the feel of sitting under a heat lamp for way too long and the cool temperature make them underwhelming. Wings- Honey Sriracha are my favorite flavor and the wings are decent but nowhere near the best in town. (Head to Julep for the best wings I've found in Annapolis.) If Bavarian Pretzels are your thing, these are incredible! Entrees: Mediterranean chicken bowl is one of my faves. The salmon dish and the grilled shrimp dish are delicious and fairly healthy. My husband who skews toward the unhealthier side loves their blackened chicken pasta. He enjoys the Park Tavern burger, and will opt for the turkey burger or chicken avocado club when aiming for a slightly healthier option. More often than not, they come out good, but have also had moments of disappointment. The rockfish tacos were his biggest menu disappointment to date. Dessert: We don't do dessert too often, but when we do, we go for the Sopapilla. It's delicious! We also had the brownie sundae which was delicious but too rich to have all the time. We absolutely hated anything with the bourbon caramel. It tastes bitter as though it's burnt, but that could just be the bourbon. Brunch: The French Toast Bites and Crispy Hash Brown Bites are worth visiting for brunch alone, and possibly the best thing on the menu! And while my husband enjoys their chorizo omelette (can't recall the exact name but it's like a Tex-Mex style.) I have given up on their eggs. The chef always burns the omelette an and their bread/toast quality is abysmal. Their roast potatoes come out raw no matter how burnt they look. It would be fantastic if they switched to the crispy hash browns for all egg dishes. They also come with the brunch burger which hubby loves, but also very unhealthy. One last food note: Some dishes you may expect to come out hot are served cold so you may want to clarify before your order. Servers: Everyone is nice and they have come to remember us each week which makes us feel special. Some of them disappear for way too long before checking on you. If you say you need a couple minutes to decide, it may be more like 15-20 before they come back. If you are lucky enough to end up with Lisa, then you will have one of the best servers in Maryland. She could teach a course on being an awesome server. We love her! All that said, Park Tavern remains one of our go-to options in Annapolis and we often bring out-of-towners there. A little more consistency would earn it five stars for sure. read more

I attended Brunch there with my friends I loved that it wasn't too crowded (11a). We were seated quickly and our waitress was super quick and friendly. The other thing I loved is the bottomless mimosas and Bloody Mary. You can have the bartender make it or you can go up and make your own. They bring you the champagne in a wine glass and you fill it up with whatever juice you would like. They also had all kinds of extras like fruits and stuff for the Bloody Mary. My low score is because the food mediocre. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. I will try them again maybe it was just the dishes we ordered. I did love the French toast bites. Several years ago, I attended an event that was catered by this restaurant. I met the owner when he was there setting everything up and he is a genuine and very nice guy. The fact that the owner of the business was on site setting up a catering event speaks for itself. the food was very good! On that particular day at that event, it was an assortment of different sandwiches and easy to eat food. However, simplicity does not mean lack of taste! Everything was delicious and they did a great job, providing a very nice assortment, and all the sides that you would want. Umm.. great place for a ladies lunch because ordering the obligatory salad was actually filling and my mango shrimp was different enough but still as delicious any good generic Cobb. My friend got the pear salad and said it was good but that she had reservations about its flavor... she's one of those people that NEVER say anything is bad so... I personally thought it was not something I'd try- even though I had been between the two salads. Mango shrimp was the way to go. Good location, good service, no crayons for kids menu- that was odd I thought considering there is a word search etc., but I'm part of the age group where everyone is a parent and carries around pens or whatever anyways - just a heads up if your kids look forward to coloring. Just visited for St Paddy's Day .They had been advertising specials all week on Facebook. We made a reservation and were surprised that they weren't busier. Our table was at the end of the bar where we had a full view of the activity behind it. We waited approximately 40 minutes for our first round of drinks that consisted of a Miller Light, a Coke, a Guinness and the house special crush. We watched our young waiter go to the bar several times and they weren't ready. Meanwhile the 2 bartenders are chatting and very casually waiting on customers at the bar. Table drinks were made with no urgency. We finally asked a manager who went and got them and said sorry, they were just busy. But they clearly weren't. We were very polite and I felt both the manager and the bartenders were quite rude. This used to be a favorite of ours but we won't be returning. Clearly customer service is lacking and perhaps that's why it wasn't busier.I'm giving them 2 stars because the waiter was nice and the food was ok. read more
