I've been here several times now since my last review and now I'm a much bigger fan, specifically when you dine in (the food portions are larger and all the staff members are super nice and friendly). From the outside, it doesn't look like it'd be that nice inside, but they did a good job remodeling and it looks very clean every time we go there. I believe they took over the restaurant in 2019 (it used to be called Giuseppe's and it wasn't good). It's modern, nicely decorated, and let me mention clean again. Every time you walk in, the people behind the counter happily greet you, and then when you leave they also all thank you and wish you a nice day. I feel so welcomed every time we walk in, it just seems like such a happy place (or the staff is trained very well anyway). The gnocchi sorentina is still my favorite, but I've also tried their pizza and garlic knots and both are very good. I'm picky with pizza because I'm a huge crust fan and they have nice soft, not too huge, but also not thin crust. I will say, though, their toppings are chopped on the bigger side so it can be a little heavy on the pizza causing it to be a little floppy when you pick it up. I always see the same waiters when I go and I can't express enough how much I like them all! The first waiter to have ever made a mark on me was Moy. He was so attentive and we've been there enough times he recognizes us when we come now. That first time we had him I told him I'd write a great review about him and this is long overdue. If you're reading this, Moy, you're my favorite waiter and I want to be friends! Haha. The other super friendly, attentive waiter I really like is Eyelin. She recognizes us too when we come. There are more wait staff I really like, but those are the only names I remember right now who I see regularly. We did have a new girl named Madi today and she was extremely friendly and bubbly. I never once saw her without a smile on her face. The other thing my husband loves about this place is that they make Moscow mules in copper mugs and he said that's the only true way to make it. He's disappointed when we go to restaurants where they serve them in regular glasses. Not to mention they're also quite tasty here. It's always pretty crowded when we come for dinner, but we've only had to wait to be seated once (and we've been at least 10 times) and it was only like 5-10 minutes. I'm so glad we have a good Italian place literally 5 minutes from our house. We'll definitely continue to be regulars!

The ONLY reason this place is getting two whole stars is because their white pizza is actually good and garlicky. Everything else in our $150 pickup order was pretty awful. The most insulting was the $6 kids "Italian" Mac and cheese. See the photo...a SCOOP of Kraft macaroni. Are you kidding me? Most restaurants will mention in the description that it's Kraft. When your menu says ITALIAN mac and is $6 you think Gorgonzola and bread crumbs maybe? Kraft Mac and cheese was not what I expected to see. How embarrassing to serve that. Other items purchased were Greek salads (nice) but the house dressing is NOT good. An eggplant dish was said to be "okay." The Hawaiian pizza was "okay." The person who ordered wings was happy. No idea HOW this place is packed...probably just because they scored a liquor license. If you're going for food other than pizza...beware.

Neat place that I cannot wait to try again. The food was tasty and the portions were just about right. I was a little surprised to see some of the staff not wearing masks but the service was friendly, courteous and fairly quick. The gnocchi was superb and the chicken special was delicious also. Sadly the pricing would prevent me from frequenting too often. Good job!

I have been doing my best at trying all of the local places that I have not tried yet. Anthony's was on my list so I placed an order over the phone the other night for pick up. I ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer. It was tasty but it was a mess by the time I drove it home a few minutes. By the look of it, it looks like I took it on a rough ride which I did not. I ordered the chicken arugula with whole wheat pasta. I really enjoyed my meal and would definitely get it again. There were a few other chicken pasta dishes that I want to try. The garlic knots were rather large and super delicious. The butter and garlic flavor was throughout and not just brushed on top. My husband ordered the shrimp and scallops asparagus pasta. It was definitely lacking seafood. It only had a couple shrimp and one and a half scallops. He said the flavor was good but was extremely disappointed in the portion compared to the price. Pick up was pretty easy for me because I ordered in advance. The girl working the register had no idea what was going on and was totally discombobulated. Too many people had their hands in what was going on and they confused the heck out of her. The worst part of it all...the parking! Well I should say the LACK of parking. I had to illegally park in the 711 parking lot. Not sure what I would have done if I was dining in. Once you pull all the way into the lot it hits a dead end. Turning around was a nightmare.

Update - I've had more good experiences than not. Today the side was missing from my order and I did not care for the chicken parmigiana. Sauce was bland and since the side was missing, $14 was a bit much for subpar chicken parm. Cream of crab soup was great. So good! First time having Anthony's and everything was great! We ordered through DoorDash; the food traveled well - cheesesteak was not soggy at all, wings were piping hot, and other meals still looked presentable upon arrival. Cream of Crab soup wasn't heavy with meat but it had a great flavor. Husband said chicken cheesesteak was good, kids meal was an awesome portion for a 10 year old, and the grilled chicken popeye was really good as a lighter option. The menu seems really dynamic and has something for everyone. Maybe we will go visit when the world is back to normal and check out the wine bar portion of the establishment. 5/5

Update: the honey old bay wings are out of this world!!!! They are sooo crispy yet the meat is very tender. Awesome flavor too!

Used to be Guiseppe's, bought out w/ a new name. I never ordered from Guiseppe's, but the reviews were beyond terrible. We were super hesitant about ordering from here, but the reviews have been pretty decent since getting new owners. I am a pizza SNOB...lemme tell you, this pizza was pretty legit. Not the BEST Italian pizza I had, not even close to the worst. Good take out place if we want to order in (doordash). We also ordered the Sweet BBQ Wings, fries and mozz sticks. Pizzas are cheese and pepperoni. For real, not bad prices, not bad food. Def give it a try! Posted some pics!

It does have a bit of a sports bar vibe going - which is not reflected in the food pricing (which is fine). Our only complaint was they allowed unchaperoned children (4 or 5 around the ages of 8-12ish) to be at a table far removed from their adults (who we later found out were sitting in a completely different room without eyes or ears on their kids). The kids weren't *awful* but they were quite loud, and it would have been more enjoyable had they been reigned in a bit by responsible adults. Overall? The food was good (and worth the price for what we got), the service was excellent, and our only complaint was likely a one off. We enjoyed the food and the company and would for sure return.

We are able to sit where we wanted so we chose the booth! It was comfy and right near the TV. The inside gives quaint and cozy vibes! Our server, Andrew, was attentive and memorized our orders. We started off with bread with an olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette sauce. We looked at it and dived right in. It was delicious! I could have stayed just for that! We moved into apps. Bestie got the oysters that they had a special on and I got the calamari. The oysters were great and you can dip the bread in this sauce as well! The calamari was good, just a little pushing towards crispy for me. Both dipping sauces were good too! Bestie enjoyed their mocktail that was a blueberry mojito. Didn't taste the mint was perfect because we don't like the mint in our drinks. I had a regular lemonade that had me consistently asking for refills! Perfect! Now let's move into our entrees! My best friend had the Risotto Mignon and I had the parpadelle Mediterraneo. Bestie's dinner was ok. The steak could use some seasoning and risotto was ok. I enjoyed my parpadelle dish! Pasta was cooked to perfection. I couldn't finish it all but it was delish. Next time, I would get extra shrimp added to my dish! For dessert, we tried the crème brûlée and I got the carrot cake to go. We also got the chocolate raspberry cheesecake. The crème brûlée was too runny under the sugar. The cheesecake was ok. I did like the carrot cake! That was good! We enjoyed ourselves! Try them out for yourself!

From the roadside, you might never guess that this unassuming spot is actually a top-notch restaurant, let alone a perfect choice for a romantic night out. Tucked away in a more residential area, it's a delightful surprise that proves great dining doesn't always announce itself loudly. The food was exceptionally fresh and absolutely delicious. Every dish tasted thoughtfully prepared, with high-quality ingredients that truly shine. It's clear that Cafe Mezzanotte takes pride in using locally sourced food and wine, and that commitment comes through in both flavor and presentation. Each bite felt refined yet comforting--exactly what you hope for in a memorable dinner. Our experience was made even better by our waitress, who was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming without ever being overbearing. Her warm personality added to the relaxed, intimate atmosphere and made us feel genuinely cared for throughout the evening. Inside, the restaurant is beautifully decorated--elegant, cozy, and inviting. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between upscale and comfortable. There's also a very nice bar area, ideal if you're stopping by just for drinks with friends or arriving early for a cocktail before dinner. So: I passionately enjoyed my dinner at Mamma Roma. The reason that this is unusual is because I'm…read morenot big on going out for Italian food much at restaurants - other than on holidays - since I eat so much Italian food at home. I can make an exception for more casual Italian meals at only a handful of Italian restaurants, and Mamma Roma's is now one. Growing up partially Italian, and a mix of other ethnicities, my family cooks Italian better, of course, than at any restaurant. No one made better Italian dinners than my Na-na (grandmother). But Momma Roma's hummus cream rigatoni could definitely keep me coming back for more. No one made better meatballs than my Mom but the meatballs at Mamma Roma's are flavorful enough. No one made better sauce than my Aunt #1 but the sauce on Momma Roma's ravioli was good and so fresh. And no one made better cookies than my Aunt #2, but Momma Roma's cannolis and rum cookies are tasty. There are a lot of Italian restaurants in the area and I've read that Mamma Roma's is one of, if not, the best. I can only say that while my first visit here a decade ago was fine, this visit goes into my memory as "need to get back there, eventually, if not sooner," after delighting in their new menu item: a creamy hummus rigatoni with sausage. I love hummus, though wasn't really sure if the texture of hummus sauce would be too gritty. It was not. It had a lovely, substantial flavor and silky texture that was balanced well by the impeccably-cooked al dente rigatoni. Add to that the garlic, cream, sausage and herbs in this dish and you've got a winner. I highly recommend this rigatoni, of the 3 rigatoni entrees on Mamma Roma's menu. I haven't even tried the other rigatoni dishes, but still ... don't miss this creamy, garlicky hummus dinner. And the portions of rigatoni in this dish were very generous. The presentation of the lasagna was impressive, in layering and shape. I only had a bite. It had a nice flavor, but I would have needed more bites to give a better description. And since it wasn't my order, I could not indulge. The portion was generous. Also, I would never order lasagna from any restaurant given the reasons cited earlier, but this one was good. I hope someone is laughing because anyone who has grown up in a subcultural group in the US usually sounds exactly like me about the home-cooking they grew up on. Another of Mamma Roma's menu items I'd like to try is their corn and arugula white pizza. I've only found one lovely corn pizza ever at Zelo's in an LA suburb, so now that I have seen this on their menu my curiosity is piqued. Love love love the variety of the dessert menu options. It's not just the desserts in the case on display that you can order. While there are gorgeous cookies on display, the dessert menu has a long, lovely list of all kinds of variations of cheesecakes and cakes. I would like to try the lemon cake on a return visit. And more of the cookie flavors! When I asked the barista what the top desserts were, he was quick to name the cannoli as a first. You'd probably be surprised to find out that this is a counter service approach: you order and pay up at the front and the waiter brings you your food and whatever else you need. You get your own fountain drinks or tea with ice. You can tip in advance, in good faith, when you order in the beginning or you can leave cash on the table at the end of the meal, having already paid your bill in the beginning. There is also the charming dessert counter/bar and espresso area that I mentioned earlier. So, when you are finished with your lunch or dinner, you can go to the barista's counter and order dessert and cappuccino. I love that if you order cake or a cannoli, a cappuccino is only $2. This is an awesome value especially for the evening crowd. For old school Anne Arundel county and Annapolis locals, Mamma Roma's is better than the original Squisito's pizza -- and higher in quality -- but it is a bit reminiscent of that restaurant in terms of popularity and a family feel. Plus, I have never tried the pizza here, but I'm guessing it's good given the quality of the ingredients and preparations we experienced with the pasta dishes. One thing that also really stands out about Mamma Roma's is that they are the only Italian restaurant that is nestled back in the suburban Piney Orchard division of Gambrills. In other words, it's more neighborly there vs. other restaurants along the majorly-trafficked Route 3 corridor. The restaurants along Route 3 have many more transients coming in, given the ease of access, so they are naturally less neighborly. Finally, when we brought our leftovers from dinner home I set them on the kitchen table and left them for a bit. When I came back into our kitchen, it was filled with such delicious aromas! Friends, this is just how fresh the food at Mamma Roma's is. For a casual, counter service suburban, it is quite bellissima!
