We had a decent time at Primo's. The food was good all around, the dessert was delicious, and our server was on point. It does have a bit of a sports bar vibe going - which is not reflected in the food pricing (which is fine). Our only complaint was they allowed unchaperoned children (4 or 5 around the ages of 8-12ish) to be at a table far removed from their adults (who we later found out were sitting in a completely different room without eyes or ears on their kids). The kids weren't *awful* but they were quite loud, and it would have been more enjoyable had they been reigned in a bit by responsible adults. Overall? The food was good (and worth the price for what we got), the service was excellent, and our only complaint was likely a one off. This place is always packed at night in the weekends so my best friend and I tried them out as soon as they opened Sunday morning! We are able to sit where we wanted so we chose the booth! It was comfy and right near the TV. The inside gives quaint and cozy vibes! Our server, Andrew, was attentive and memorized our orders. We started off with bread with an olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette sauce. We looked at it and dived right in. It was delicious! I could have stayed just for that! We moved into apps. Bestie got the oysters that they had a special on and I got the calamari. The oysters were great and you can dip the bread in this sauce as well! The calamari was good, just a little pushing towards crispy for me. Both dipping sauces were good too! Bestie enjoyed their mocktail that was a blueberry mojito. Didn't taste the mint was perfect because we don't like the mint in our drinks. I had a regular lemonade that had me consistently asking for refills! Perfect! Now let's move into our entrees! My best friend had the Risotto Mignon and I had the parpadelle Mediterraneo. Bestie's dinner was ok. The steak could use some seasoning and risotto was ok. I enjoyed my parpadelle dish! Pasta was cooked to perfection. I couldn't finish it all but it was delish. Next time, I would get extra shrimp added to my dish! Primo was recommended by locals and is the neighborhood spot. Packed on a weekday, its stand-alone venue and parking lot access and availability is a bonus. As mentioned by others, the drinks come stiff, so bring your thirst! I enjoyed their version of oysters Rockefeller. It came out piping hot and delicious. These morsels came plump! My dinner was delicious but need to mention it was delivered not so hot. The potatoes were luke warm, the crab cake was too, and the steak was at a different temperature. Do you have friends who live far away? We do. Jeremy's friend from high school moved to Florida ages ago, got married, had a kid, and we kept on expanding our love for them all. We went to visit them several times, in Florida and when they came back to visit family in Maryland. And then they moved (back) to Pasadena. And we rejoiced. Jeremy and I went to unload the moving truck... well, Jeremy went to do the heavy lifting. I went for moral support and to catch up/gossip with the ladies. Now, everyone should know the proper etiquette when friends help you move is to pay them with money, pizza and beer, or both. Our friends decided on both, which was amazing of them. We decided to order from Primo, which was relatively nearby. Their extensive menu made the process of ordering difficult because EVERYTHING sounded delicious. Truthfully, I don't know exactly everything that was ordered, but I do know that there were many moans of delight and eyes rolling into the back of heads when the flavors hit the tongue. Our one previous Florida resident shouted, "I love Maryland!" as she ate a slice of the Figaro (Prosciutto di Parma, walnuts, and gorgonzola crumbles baked with fig compote then topped with baby arugula and a drizzle of balsamic glaze) pizza. I admit, this was the weirdest pizza I have ever tried, but after reading about it on the menu, we HAD to try it. I mean, when was the last time YOU had WALNUTS on a pizza? And it works. It's a taste sensation. We also tried the Hawaiian (Crispy prosciutto di Parma, diced pineapple, mozzarella, and provolone with your choice of white or red sauce) pizza with white sauce. Our five-year-old diner seemed to like it, telling me that he liked pineapple, and offered me one from his slice. I didn't try this one, but it did look delicious. But, personally, I like jalapenos on my Hawaiian pizza, and I wasn't going to demand that when I was so intrigued by the fig pizza. There was also a pepperoni pizza, which Jeremy LOVED. He's a Primo fan just on the strength of this pizza. Each pizza came with a little container of butter garlic sauce and shredded parmesan. I had buffalo wings, which were great, but let me just say the BLEU CHEESE dipping dressing is FANTASTIC!! Huge pieces of bleu cheese, suggesting this didn't come out of a bottle. WOW. The Fettucini Alfredo (Egg-noodle fettucini tossed in creamy garlic Parmesan alfredo sauce) was met with enthusiasm from someone who is trying not to eat a lot of acidic foods. But the Filet Mignon (Tender hand-cut CAB filet marinated in olive oil, garlic, and rosemary then seared and broiled to temperature) was a huge hit. Pretty much everyone had a taste because it was too good to hog. Such a delight demands to be shared. Jeremy also had a cheesesteak - cheese (provolone) and onions. He enjoyed it but said that the execution could use some work. The roll was good, but he wanted cheese whiz because we're spoiled from so many excursions to Philly. He finished the sandwich, so that goes to tell you that it was fairly decent in spite of his high standards. We wanted to try the cannoli nachos, but unfortunately the restaurant's dessert fridge was broken. I'm not giving up though, cuz doesn't that sound like the best thing ever? Friday night, I ended up grabbing takeout from Primo. Seems like a pretty popular place and was very lively on a Friday night. The penne vodka with shrimp was GREAT! This used to be our go-to place to grab drinks and the charcutie board. Last few visits, the quality of the plate has gone down hill. Our last visit in January, it was AWFUL!! There was only 4 pieces of meat on the tray and they were literally packaged Oscar meyer bologna. No salami, prosciutto, and chorizo. A majority of the board was taken up by dried apricots. There was only two types of cheese. The WORST was instead of artisian crackers or crostinis like usual, the crackers were Pepperidge Farm butterfly crackers. What a waste of $24. One of go to Italian carryout restaurants when I lived in Pasadena and we recently had dinner at the restaurant. The service is always outstanding! Attention to detail and no long wait times for food. We had the calamari to start, a tiny bit too chewy for me, my friend loved it though. I had the Pappardelle Mediteranneo which was excellent, very fresh seafood and a huge portion. My companion had the Fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp, also a large portion and delicious large shrimp. The kids chicken tender meal had huge pieces of chicken and tasty fries. My only small complaint is seasoning, I prefer a bit more flavor. When I got carryout I would always add Cajun seasoning. Maybe add an option for "blackened" chicken for peeps like me. The atmosphere is busy and loud. This isn't a quiet romantic spot. I would absolutely recommend them and I will be eating there again. Delicious mom and pop style Italian restaurant. The owner and staff were extremely friendly and appreciative of every single party that was there to dine with them. Considering how busy the place was it is definitely a local favorite. To begin they have oil and herbs with a vinaigrette to dip the soft ciabatta bread into. Yum! I had the Penne Primavera. Typically the food here is good, and has the best pizza in the area. But not tonight. We called in an order which included a 14" supremo for $23. The pizza was not cooked, and borderline raw in the middle. I would have minded less, but it was not cut very well either, and I tore the first 2 pieces, and the toppings fell off. After cutting the raw pie, more of the pizza fell apart as i move it to a sheet pan with a large spatula. In short, that pizza was not worth the wait, drive, and especially not the $23. My chef, I mean husband, was away this weekend so I was left to fend for myself! Fortunately, Primo is right around the corner from me. I totally ordered dinner two nights in a row! I have had Primo a few times in the past and loved it. On Saturday I ordered the Pork Chop Milanese which came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. This is definitely one of the best dishes in my opinion. The pork chop is lightly breaded and the sauce on it is amazing! I could eat this meal everyday. I also tried the Brushette Roma appetizer. I will be honest here....I ate alllll of it! The tomatoes were extremely fresh and the whole appetizer was delicious. I assumed it wouldn't keep too well in the fridge (that was my excuse for eating it all in one sitting;) The following night I got the chicken parm, another one of my favorites. I typically order it with a side of pasta but decided to change it up and get the roasted potatoes and asparagus. The chicken was so good and it comes with three pieces of chicken. Both nights I called in my order and picked it up in the restaurant. The ordering process was super easy and the employees were always welcoming and friendly. After moving to the area, Primo has become our go to date night spot. Now, truly the only meal I have gotten is the chicken parm with Vodka sauce but my wife has tried a couple of their dishes and we have had every app there is. The food is always amazing. My fave app is the burrata cheese and the shrimp! It's a very small place, very homey, hole in the wall vibes but we love it. Everyone is always so friendly. We were in the area and decided to try this place as yelp had good reviews and it listed it had outdoor seating - it does not. We still decided to give it a try as the parking lot was packed on a Monday. Surely had to be a good sign! We decided to sit at the bar; however it was very busy. It took forever to even get a menu. I was about to walk out. We were finally able to place our orders and food came out in a good amount of time. I got the lobster ravioli and my fiancé got the risotto mignon. It was fine but not worth the price. I left underwhelmed and unsatisfied. I also noticed another review from someone of a different ethnicity had a lackluster experience and felt treated not as well as other patrons. I too felt that vibe. While we waited a LONG time to be waited on, another couple gets menus and order within minutes of sitting at the bar. Another set of ladies sit on the other side of us and they get their drinks and were offered bread (we were not) instantly. I'll give it, the bartenders were VERY busy and VERY hardworking; however, I just felt this vibe from the whole place. We did not fit in and it was apparent. That along with the $100 meal that was just OK - it was a disappointing experience. However, I am happy to see a local restaurant doing so well on a Monday night. I ordered the Pork Chop Milanese for carry out. My 2 sides were scalloped potatoes & green beans with carrots. The pork chop was amazing. It was cooked to perfection, and seasoning was on point. The green beans and carrots were crunchy and seasoned well. They had a different take on scalloped potatoes. They were shaped like a serving of lasagna. We Live Primo! The food has been excellent every time we have been. My picky boys love the flat bread pizza, buttered noodles and mozzarella sticks. They even we kind enough to bring my son a side of sauce to see if he preferred that over buttered noodles without "contaminating" the whole bowl of food. lol. They have fantastic specials. If they say it has crab in it then it has plenty of it. Big jump lump pieces!! My favorite is the sea bass special with delicious risotto! Nothing has disappointed us yet!! The servers have all been knowledgeable kind and helpful. They are attentive without being annoying. I love the casual atmosphere which often includes live music in the bar area. These 2 stars are for the staff who pack the To Go Orders. Tonight they packed a very heavy shrimp scampi, kale/salmon salad and brushetta into one paper bag that had already had a bite taken out of the top of it so by the time we got it to the car one of the handles tore and we end up with bruschetta all over the to go box and salmon almost fallen out of the other to go box. It has been prevalent over the course of 3 prolonged days and nights, today marking the third. In Celebration, I order cuisine from a Highly rated eatery for the Apple of my Eye as well as for myself. To go, of course, now that the lost intimacy that once left this relationship ill-fated has since rekindled; a romantic night in is the only course of action to alleviate this staggering quest of a week... Ragnarök. The Battle was over, we had won. Alas, that was foolish of me. Entertaining the possibility of optimism after hardships in life as if some form of "karma" existed. Where did I go wrong, Mother? One might say in ordering a "Primo Parmigiana Sub" from a self proclaimed Italian Restaurant. I was foolish to have faith. Nowhere near the performance expected from the aforementioned Ciabatta sub roll. . They tasted and looked to be ground beef rolled into soft balls and smeared into the cross section of my Roll. [Here I will add that this ground beef was in no way grotesque, it was just no . It had a taste exactly mimicking correctly seasoned beef that goes into a Taco Shell. I could taste the Chili Powder, Cumin, Garlic and Onion. But not one, not one fresh herb. No oregano, no parsley, no basil. Had dinner there with friends on a Friday night. We had a reservation for 6:00 PM and we were seated right away. The service was great, attentive but not pushy or in a hurry to rush us out. We started with Crabby Tots which were crunchy and delicious. It was loaded with crab meat and sprinkled with cheese and bacon. Two of us had the ciopinno which was served over bucatini. Very good amount of seafood including clams, mussels, rockfish and shrimp. The broth was a little thicker than a typical a ciopinno. The other two had crab imperial was was loaded with crab and not a lot of filler or mayonnaise. Overall a very good meal. Definitely will return soon. read more

Went for lunch at 2 pm on a Wednesday. Walked in the door no greeter, sign said wait to be seated,on the right was the bar, bar waitress ignored us. So just seated ourselves, passed another table they said they had been waiting 15 minutes and had not see anyone either. Finally someone came out, got our drinks and menues. Ordered ceasar salad and penne vodka with chicken entre. The salad was gross, way too much dressing looked like ceasar soup. The same for the pasta, looked like something poured out of a can, way too much sauce, chicken wasn't cut up ,large peices too big to eat had to recut.
