This is cute Peruvian chicken style eatery in Annapolis. There are about 12-15 booths inside and all the unoccupied booths looked clean. The floors by the drink station were sticky but easily could have been from a recent spill. The service was quick; I had the 1/2 chicken with rice which was ready immediately. My colleagues ordered burritos which were ready in 5-7 minutes. My fried rice was good 7/10, the sauce is what makes it, I added a mixture of both the yellow and green sauces. My chicken was a little too pink when I cut it for my liking so I paused on that. The crispy first bite I had was flavorful. There is limited parking in the back. The chicken was good, but the sauces and the green beans were not it. Green beans were in between over cooked and under cooked as though they mixed old with new. The green and yellow sauce had a very vinegar tangy taste. They were very watery compared to it being creamy at other Lima's locations I've had in the past.... Try this place, it smells amazing and is a hidden gem. If you're in the area, this is worth a visit. There's free parking in the back for 30 minutes or so. When you walk up it smells amazing and you can smell the chicken roasting from outside. When you walk in, you see the giant rotisserie roasting lines of chicken. When you order, they take a chicken that's done and chop it up for the order. We got a plate of charbroiled chicken with rice and fries and a Lima bowl (think chipotle but better). I updated my review of this place recently and it seems to have disappeared. I am moving back to Annapolis and I suggested this as a place for some good chicken. Very disappointed with order today. Used to be good value. Big portions at a fair price. A half chicken meal (all white) was $20. OK if the sides were not so puny. Downsizing the take out container doesn't make the portions bigger. Increased price and smaller servings. Not worth coming back. Health violations are also a concern. read more

Rotisserie Chicken delight. There is a family meal that feeds about 6. The sides available are always cooked to excellence. I get the Platanos, rice ( fried and white), and beans. The fried yuca is also made right and both my Kids like the way the fries are cooked. If you're looking to enjoy Peruvian inspired dishes. I recommend the Lima's chicken. Want some cockroach with those potatoes? Yikes! Let me start by saying that I used to be a big fan of this place when I lived here years ago. Now that I am back, I was looking forward to their delicious chicken and sides. We went to the counter, placed the order and when the server turned, a healthy, happy looking roach came scuttling along next to the sides. After a bit of gagging, we chose to leave. Nothing kills the appetite like a roach in the food-live or dead. We will not be going back-sadly. That may seem an over reaction since all resaurants are plagued with bugs and rodents, but when they trot along merrily on your counter by the food bins in broad daylight with all of the activity there, I'd say they have been ignored a bit too long. read more

I absolutely loved Lima's when they were located in Bowie, so when I realized they had a location in Annapolis, I knew I had to stop in! I popped in on a Monday afternoon and ordered my favorite meal, 1/4 chicken white meat, black beans, fried rice, and mixed veggies. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the restaurant itself was clean and pretty empty. I took my food home and I was eager to dig in, only to be rather unimpressed. It wasn't the same Lima's I was accustomed to. The black beans were extremely bland, like I had to add my own seasonings to even make them edible, but on the other spectrum, the mixed veggies were overly seasoned - to the point of being salty. Heck, even the yellow sauce I received was salty. The chicken was still tender and delish and the fried rice was perfect. It just seemed like my meal was just thrown off with the other hiccups. This was once my favorite Peruvian spots around town. Will I return, perhaps. Hopefully, it was just a bad day for the person(s) who seasoned the food. read more

I was actually introduced to Lima's through a hairstylist of mine. We were struggling one late night and she let me finish her chicken bowl from this location. When I tell you I went to Lima's the NEXT day for my own bowl. I might've even returned 3 times in about 2 weeks. Lima's... is amazing. Simply put, I have no other words. Stopped through for lunch for my brother on a Saturday morning. Parking is inside behind the restaurant and is free. You can dine-in. I got the 1/4 chicken white with 2 sides (potatoes and white cilantro rice) Everything was really good actually. If I had some salt and pepper, this whole meal would have been set offffff!!! They had a sort of vegetables and all kinds of rice and crap that almost like they want to be a Sardis which I don't like either. They are green sauce was very good. Good rice, beans and the broccoli side was not overcooked. The chicken, for Peruvian, was average. Wasn't bad, but some Peruvian chicken literally has you licking the bones it's so good. This was not particularly juicy or flavorful, but good enough to get again... because it's the only place in town! If you are coming from Montgomery County, eat the chicken there instead. It's way better. You're in Anne Arrundel, stick to crabs. LOL. If you must, though, this will satisfy the urge. I had 1 chicken and 3 large sides. It was a special on the menu. I think that was $30. We usually go to another location for Lima's but we were in the area and decided to try this location. We were NOT disappointed at all. We usually get the family whole chicken with dark meat only, rice and beans with a side of plantains. The chicken is one of the best rotisserie chicken that I ever had. A good pollo ala brasa option in a very non Peruvian town...but this area has a lot of these places. There is a joint called El Pollo Rico in the DC area that really started it...there are even a few of these chicken joints in Baltimore now as well. THE GOOD: Awesome food. Always fresh, always affordable, always filling, always delicious.. if you're into rotisserie/charbroiled chicken this is the spot for you. They got more than just chicken too. Seafood options available on their menu but haven't dived that far, I'm a creature of habit. lol. Walk in, browse their menu, place your order, grab your meal and go (or sit and eat at their booths)! Fountain and bottled beverages available. Bathroom too. Fairly spacious dining area with plenty of window seating towards the back. I see the same faces rotate every time I come in here, they're all great people! THE BAD: (this is barely a critique) Their door is heavy to open, can be a nuisance on windy days.. THE UGLY: Parking. It can get crazy here sometimes because it's a residential and commercial area. Lima's Chicken provides very tasty Peruvian Chicken as well as sides (black beans and rice are my favorites). Love this place. You can see the chicken roasting behind the counter so you know it is fresh. Staff are friendly, service is quick (dine-in, carry-out and/or delivery) and always accomodate when I request "crispier skin." The sauces provided are complimentary to the Peruvian chicken flavors and options include hot or mild. Have never had a bad experience and I will be a frequent customer. My only 4 vs. 5 star rating is due to lack of the following: cleanliness on some tables and booths when dining-in, not providing non-plastic cutlery when dining-in, not wearing masks or hair restraint for those working to assemble orders. We are here visiting Annapolis for graduation and we have had Lima's three times. It is THAT good! The chicken is cooked to perfection, the rice is fluffy and flavorful, and do not get me started on the sauces. I could douse my food in the creamy green sauce every day. It is also very affordable. Even though Lima's is known for their chicken , I also think their fish options are better than their competitors (Sardi's, Nandos, etc ) . I usually order the Lima's fish, which says it comes with three pieces but it must be larger pieces because there's usually five or six pieces of fish in the order. It comes with rice and then you can pick another side, I go with the classic-black beans . If you're wanting to just pick something up, call ahead cause it takes about ten minutes . I also appreciate that they freshly make the iconic green and yellow sauces . The staff are always friendly and accommodating. It's a good place for the whole family. read more

Bottom Line: Good chicken and healthy choices but parking can be a tad difficult at times. I really enjoy Peruvian food so I was glad to finally give Lima's Chicken a chance. The chicken dishes and sandwiches I have had there have been good. They also have some tasty side dishes and flavorful sauces to further dress up the bird. If Lima's was closer to my house I am sure I would get carry out from there frequently because I appreciate the quality and healthy menu offerings. Parking can be tough at Lima's as the small lot is often full. Maybe there is more parking elsewhere or I just have bad luck? Also, I wish Lima's served Coca-Cola products rather than Pepsi products. read more

Such mouthwateringly delicious chicken that's filling and inexpensive. I usually get a quarter chicken with two sides and it'll come out under $7. You can choose dark or white meat, and for the sides they have white rice, fried rice, yuca, string beans, and veggies that are very well seasoned. You order at the counter and wait for the food yourself so no need to tip generously. They also have desserts including tres leches and flan. The charbroiled chicken is flavorful and tender. I believe it's marinated for hours before it's then cooked and served. The place also doesn't seem to be busy even during lunchtime so you don't need to wait long. I'm so happy to have this little gem in the neck of my (office's) woods as something always worth looking forward to if we're doing a Peruvian chicken lunch run. read more
