This was our first time and I would happily go back. You order and pay at the counter and they bring the food to your table once ready. The shrimp tacos are my go to, but I've also had the Caldo de Mariscos and the Shrimp Quesadilla. Don't leave without trying the Tres Leches. It's literally the best. The service is great. It's been over 7 years...still worth the drive and money. Under new ownership, but they've managed to work out the kinks that made it so-so a few years back. There was an unfortunate period where the food wasn't seasoned. It seemed like they were trying to appeal to a different palate, but thank goodness that hurdle was cleared. Finally tried the cabeza tacos that people keep raving about and they're a delicious treat! A little greasy but worth every bite. So are the Al pastor tacos. I didn't know how much I loved pork until now. Honorable mention: those wonderful bags of pinwheel style chips. The cashier said they're made of pork and my oh my oh my! I passed by los Primos on a rainy day for some dinner. I decided to try something new instead of their amazing tacos, which are always very flavorful and decided to try posole to my surprise. This was my first (but not last) visit at Los Primos and I enjoyed everything, including the speedy service and online ordering. Ordering online ahead of time meant I walked right up to the register and he handed me my bag. I came on a Saturday morning around 11:30 and it wasn't busy yet. The queso tastes like a typical cheese sauce from a can with slightly more seasoning, so I'm not mad? But it's definitely milder and not as flavorful as a white queso from other restaurants. The guacamole was simple but very good, and it started to brown a little bit once I opened the container, which I was really happy about because it meant it was real ingredients lol I thought the birria tacos were delicious. Flavorful, a slight kick, lots of meat in the shell. It was good with and without a squeeze of lemon, and with and without the consommé. A taco is really good if it can stand on its own, and this one did. 4 of them was way too many. Next time, I'll order 2 tacos and get 2 different flavors instead of the 4 Tacos de Birria dish. I was expecting there to be cheese on them but there wasn't. I'm sure my expectations is just me being American. I was disappointed when I saw there was no cheese, but then didn't care at all once I tasted it. The side of beans and rice was evenly flavored and complemented each other really well. So, I had to take my dad to get a taste of one of my favorite foods that I always eat in California. BIRRIA!! I did my research and found this place! My dad isn't a huge fan of Mexican food, but now he is obsessed and we've already went back another time before I left for his birthday lunch. There was a huge line of people getting take out and a line of people dining in. After waiting about 10 minutes in line we finally got to order. I ordered the birria tacos and the quesadilla with birria (no onions or cilantro) also chips and salsa (they do give you a big sized thing of salsa with your chips, but there's also a salsa bar! Which I am a sucker for salsa bars! This place is so lively and colorful. One of the sweet girls working here was putting out fresh roses on the altar they have and cleaning the place After about 10 minutes they brought the food out to the table (you order up front at the register and they give you a number to take to your table and bring it out) The Birria was amazing!!! I got ripped off because some how I only ended up with one taco and a little piece of the quesadilla because my dad couldn't stop eating it lol. He LOVED the consommé that comes with it. They gave us two big containers of it with our meals. I'll admit, the consommé was great. It wasn't too salty or spicy. Had an amazing flavor to it which was mild I'll be honest with you, living in Maryland for two years I never found one single Mexican restaurant that was authentic. But now we have this place to go to! Their menu is actually pretty decent in size I have zero complaints, we both walked away so happy and I'm thrilled I have my dad hooked on birria and this place. They do have a couple TVs I noticed, if you come here during rush hour like prime time lunch or dinner be prepared to wait. Because the amount of people that were already there at 11 am was crazy P.S. they have a military discount! I didn't notice any soda fountain drinks or alcohol. I believe it's just bottled water and soda. But they do offer drinks like horchata. We ordered water bottles and it wasn't the tiny kinds they give you at restaurants. These were huge. Whenever I come to places like that I always have to order 2 water bottles at least. But I still had leftover water from the large bottle. I tried (2) steak tacos and (2) al pastor tacos; you get 4 tacos for the $8 Taco Tuesday Special. Were they filled with meat? YES Did they look good? When trying a new place, I prefer to choose something basic and taquitos or flautas and street tacos are pretty basic for Mexican food (my mom is from Mexico City). I ordered flauta (taquitos) platters that came with refried beans and rice. In the platter the restaurant provides a healthy portion with both red and green sauce. While the dish is decent, I noticed they don't season the meat. I guess the cheese, lime and salsa are supposed to be enough. In my family, we always seasoned the meat. The service was friendly and quick because of the lines but there's no waiting area. All tacos, all drinks, all chips, all quesadillas...everything that I had was spot on. Flavorful, comes out fast and pretty big portions I might add. The cheese was like the cheap nacho cheese from the movie theater actually I think the movie theater cheese is better. It was a big blob on the nachos and it was Luke warm. The beef soup was bland just broth with a while set of chunky potatoes and carrots and onions. I returned the nachos and got chicken tacos not sure why I opted for chicken after having the dried chicken on my nachos. Guess I expected different results. Those were some of the blandest tasteless tacos I've ever had in all my life. The birria tacos my daughter had was mediocre as well. Solid spot with a lot of more authentic Mexican food offerings. Flavors are great and there are a lot of condiments (sauces and toppings) that really make the dishes pop. I had the gorditas which at the time were 3 for $15. I opted for the chorizo, al pastor, and carne asada and everything was delicious. Meat was tender and juicy, but not so fatty that it made the tacos fall apart. Everything on the menu feels reasonably priced especially considering what you're getting in return. Dining in at this location is a bit chaotic. There's a lot of seating, but it's all pretty crammed in a small space. There is staff that bus the tables and bring the food, but otherwise, you're pretty much on your own (you go up to the front for any needs you might have). I personally think that the best way to eat the food is still to dine in or take out to eat on a curb or in the car. The tacos (there are other items on the menu too, but I'll speak on specifically the tacos) don't seem like they will hold the best over the time, so I think you should enjoy them as soon as possible after ordering.
