Needed somewhere to stop for breakfast before my flight and I'm so glad I chose here. I was a little weary just because it's a chain and they can be very hit or miss. When we arrived we were seated quickly. A lot of items stood out to us on the menu so we went back and forth on what to order but it did take a little bit for someone to come take our order. Ultimately we landed on the peach cobbler French toast, cinnamon roll French toast, and a 1/2 and 1/2 lunch special with chicken & waffles and a cup of jambalaya. I was told the peach cobbler French toast was really good. The cinnamon roll French toast was prepared perfectly. Not soggy which was surprising given how much syrup and melted cream was on the plate. It was just VERY sweet. It also came with a side of eggs and brown sugar sage sausage patties. I loved the sausage patties and 2 was just enough. The chicken and waffles were good, the chipotle honey that came on the side complimented the chicken really well. The jambalaya had potential, but could have been seasoned a bit heavier. I also ordered the raspberry peach palmer and it was bombbb. I am writing this review as I sit at the bar (where I have been for 21 minutes now). I still don't even have water. We placed our orders about 15 minutes ago, and are still waiting on water. I don't think my mimosa will ever come. If I had caffeine I might be able to get over it, but sadly the coffee has not arrived either. On my way back from Virginia I needed some breakfast and found this restaurant and stopped in. I know someone who owns one of these restaurants in Alabama and it's the first time I've seen it locally to try. I arrived around 11:00 and it wasn't all that busy and opted to sit inside. Although they have a nice outdoor area it was warm and humid on this day and I wanted to sit in the air conditioning. I was seated immediately and provided a menu. I was a little surprised by the prices on the menu as I expected it to be a little less than it was. My server came by shortly after and asked about drinks and I got water. A few minutes later he came back and I ordered the peach cobbler French toast which looked good but probably look better in the picture then when it arrived. The presentation wasn't very good as it was just thrown on a plate and not really well presented to me. It tasted good it was very sweet but it was good. One of the things that reduced the star was both the presentation and the fact that the syrup that was presented to me in the cup had a layer of film over it and when I went to pour it over my French toast it wouldn't pour until I pierced the film covering the syrup. The eggs over medium and the well done bacon that I ordered came out perfectly and were very good. It was starting to get busy when I was ready to leave and it took a little longer for my server to bring my check and also then pick it up. If you've ever been to Another Broken Egg Cafe, you already know one thing, weekend brunch usually comes with a wait. I've visited several locations in Georgia, so when I suggested that my family meet me at the Elkridge location on Father's Day, I knew exactly what I was signing up for. I had a late afternoon flight home, and wanted to be close to BWI airport. Parking was plentiful and free, although first timers should know you'll need to walk around the building to find the entrance. We waited about an hour for a table, and after being seated, we waited a little longer before anyone came over. Thankfully, the manager was making his rounds, noticed we'd been overlooked, and immediately sent over a server along with complimentary beignets. That simple gesture completely changed the tone of our visit. The ambiance was casual yet upscale-ish. I ordered the Strawberry St. Germain Mimosa, my niece had the Pineapple Berry Agua Fresca, and both were excellent. My brothers enjoyed the Cajun Shrimp & Crayfish Omelette, my niece loved her Chicken & Waffles, and my Crab Cake Benedict was delicious. I'll even admit the crab cake tasted better than the ones I've had at the Georgia locations, when in Maryland, I guess that's to be expected! Considering it was Father's Day and the restaurant was absolutely slammed, the staff handled the crowd well. Once our server arrived, he was friendly, attentive, and never made us feel rushed. This was my family's first visit, but based on all the clean plates and compliments around the table, it definitely won't be their last. Excellent on everything!!! We were traveling home and read the reviews for Another Broken Egg Cafe in Elkridge, MD and decided to eat brunch there. What a great decision. My husband had a combo of sausage gravy over toast, eggs, house-made sausage patties, and country potatoes. Eggs were perfectly cooked, fried hard and a little crispy - just the way my husband likes them! Sausage is a little different but delicious. The potatoes had no grease and I couldn't stop eating them. I had the Belgian waffle with two very flavorful scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. Now for the best part - the waffle arrived with regular warmed syrup AND warmed Bananas Foster Butter Rum syrup. It was the most delicious syrup ever! They sure knocked it out of the ballpark with this!!! I actually had some of both syrups on my waffle! Decadent! Our server, Stiven, smiled the entire time, offered suggestions and was very polite. I visited over Mother's Day weekend knowing this restaurant uses a waitlist instead of reservations, so we added our name about two hours before arriving. Given the holiday crowds, I think they handled the chaos fairly well, and overall I'd rate the experience 3.5 out of 5 stars. We were originally quoted a wait of 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes, but still waited another 45 to 50 minutes after arriving before being seated. It was a nice day, so waiting outside was not terrible, though some guests were clearly frustrated, especially walk ins who did not realize the waitlist was necessary on such a busy holiday. Once seated, service was friendly and gracious despite the pressure staff were under. It did take a while for us to get water at the table, which felt a little strange, and the food also took about 40 more minutes to arrive. That said, everything we ordered was delicious. The standout was definitely the cinnamon roll French toast, and the blueberry lavender lemonades were a huge hit at our table. My tostadas were ok but not the highlight of our table. My partner loved the chicken sandwich, and the beignet biscuits were also fluffy and good! Overall, the biggest issue was simply the length of the waits. I have been to busy holiday brunches before that moved a bit faster, and I think the quoted wait times should have been longer to better reflect reality. I was super excited to see Another Broken Egg on the East Coast! The food was just as I remembered, and it was definitely busy for a Sunday morning around 10:30 AM. The wait was about 20 minutes, and the bar, booths, and tables were all full. Just a heads-up: there is a 2-hour seating limit, and the high-top booths are a little tight when squeezing in and out. That said, our waiter was attentive and quick to take our orders, which made the experience smooth despite how crowded it was. The French toast was amazing--definitely a standout. I actually discovered this place about five years ago in Orlando, Florida, and I was thrilled when I heard they were opening a location in Maryland. As soon as I visited, the food was exactly as I remembered it, same delicious taste as in Orlando, and the staff were just as welcoming. I came here for a solo brunch before the snow came! I've been wanting to try this place for a while, just never got around to it. I initially got on their waitlist (which you can do via their website), but when I arrived there were a few empty seats at the bar, so I opted to sit there. The waiter was fast and efficient with taking everyone's orders. I ordered the apple fritters French toast breakfast with sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese, and an Irish coffee! The highlight of the meal was definitely the sausages and that coffee, so good! I'll be back for more, lol. The place was packed when I came, but it's a nice size and kind of gives a New Orleans/Southern vibe. There's a lot to like about this place, but there's definitely room for improvement--particularly when it comes to service. We stopped by on New Year's Day for brunch. My wife ordered the fried chicken biscuit with a poached egg, and I ordered the farmer's omelet (no mushrooms) along with a short stack. We also ordered beignets. Unfortunately, my omelet came out with mushrooms, even though the modification was clearly stated and repeated when the order was taken. By the time the mistake was addressed, I was already halfway through my short stack and didn't want to wait for a remake, so I let it go. What stood out to me, though, was that no manager or chef came by to acknowledge or apologize for the error, which was disappointing. Service overall felt inconsistent. The restaurant appeared both overstaffed and understaffed at the same time--there were plenty of people walking around, but very little awareness of tables that weren't "theirs." We sat for a good portion of the meal with empty water glasses, and no one checked in. I believe service works best when it's approached more as a team effort: even if there's a designated server per table, everyone on the floor should be paying attention to guests and stepping in when needed. The lack of management involvement was also concerning. Beyond losing a sale that day, situations like this risk losing repeat customers and, of course, result in reviews like this one. A simple acknowledgment from management would have gone a long way. That said, the food itself is good, and I think most people will enjoy what they order here. I enjoyed the grits and could been a meal by itself if as a bowl. For lunch, I tasted the gumbo and good flavor but too heavy on the old bay seasoning. Had two spoonful and got a headache due the high sodium content from the old bay seasoning. It would have been awesome and I would have given this place 4 stars if the order was correct and didn't experience the side effect from the gumbo. The food here was hit or miss for me. The Bourbon street pancakes were delicious. We agreed that was the best dish out of what we ordered. The fried chicken sandwich did not have much going for it. Part of the issue was they used a tall stack of fried chicken tenders to build the sandwich rather than one piece of thigh or breast meat. This made for an impressive looking sandwich when the plate arrived, but it was not structurally stable and became a logistical challenge to eat. I gave up trying to keep it a sandwich and used a fork and knife. The flavor profile was boring- The tenders were just ok and I hardly tasted any ranch dressing on the bun. Their online waitlist system is not very accurate. We Joined the waitlist on our way to the restaurant 10 minutes away and the first page said 10-20 minutes. The second page quoted 15-30 minutes. From the time we entered the waitlist to being seated was just under an hour. An hour is not terrible to wait, but it was double what the system communicated. read more

I didn't care much for the drink. When my food arrived I couldn't believe the side of the chicken sandwich. It had 4 tenders on it. The season was a little bland but, I still enjoyed it. The potatoes was delicious and the bacon EXCELLENT. My cousin introduced us to the owners wife and daughter before we left. They were very pleasant and thanked us for coming. I really like this spot. You may have to wait around a little on the weekends for a table but its always worth the wait. The food is made to order and always comes to the table hot. There is a cute cornhole set outside and several benches to enjoy while you wait. There is indoor and outdoor seating as well as a small bar area. I have tried so many things from the French toast to the waffles and even a soft shell crab meal. Now the soft shell crab option is not one I would recommend however everything else has been exceptional. I love the ambiance it's bright and welcoming, we always have great service and there is a parking lot with more than enough spaces. The restaurant is fresh looking and features a full bar. The staff were great. I can't pass up Shrimp and grits nor gumbo when I see it on a menu. Both were filling and tasty. Shrimp grits came with cheese on it by default. Good shrimp and grits do not need cheese. Neither did this one. It was filling. The gumbo was very tasty. We ended up at Another Broken Egg Cafe because of a power outage, and it turned out to be the perfect excuse for a breakfast outing with my two little ones. The staff was friendly and accommodating, which is always a plus when you've got kids in tow. The waffles were crisp on the outside and soft inside, the sausage had just the right balance of sweet and savory, and the grits were perfectly creamy.
