I was super excited to see Another Broken Egg on the East Coast! The food was just as I remembered, and it was definitely busy for a Sunday morning around 10:30 AM. The wait was about 20 minutes, and the bar, booths, and tables were all full. Just a heads-up: there is a 2-hour seating limit, and the high-top booths are a little tight when squeezing in and out. That said, our waiter was attentive and quick to take our orders, which made the experience smooth despite how crowded it was. The French toast was amazing--definitely a standout. The salmon Benedict was also really good and full of flavor. The grits were just okay. I ordered the gouda grits with bacon, but it didn't seem like either ingredient was actually included since neither was recognizable in the dish. The Spring Hugo Spritz was light and refreshing and paired nicely with brunch. Another Broken Egg cafe offers a menu with seasonal specials and drinks and breakfast/brunch options that you'd expect to find at a suburban breakfast spot. I don't mean that as a ding. The prices on the menu feel like they're on the rather high side, but I think it's still on par with the other breakfast spots in the area. My only thing is that I would love to see a kids' menu of some sort. The food that did come out was tasty and well balanced. Service was nice and timely (went on a Friday a little before lunch time). I had a friend in town visiting and we were looking for a nice brunch, so we tried Another broken egg Cafe. The food was delicious. Wait time a bit long 45 mins to an hour but they text when your table ready. I love unlimited mimosas which they dont offer but you can get a pitcher. Our waiter wasn't the best. The music was nice. Visiting Maryland and decided to check Yelp for a review for a decent brunch spot and we came upon this location. It seemed like a chain but it didn't feel like it. With this being, like my 30th time coming to ABE I don't know how many more ways to compliment them. Having not visited for a while, the wife and I decided to stop by and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I got the biscuits and gravy, which were delicious and she got the cinnamon roll French toast which she enjoyed. I came here for a solo brunch before the snow came! I've been wanting to try this place for a while, just never got around to it. I initially got on their waitlist (which you can do via their website), but when I arrived there were a few empty seats at the bar, so I opted to sit there. The waiter was fast and efficient with taking everyone's orders. I ordered the apple fritters French toast breakfast with sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese, and an Irish coffee! The highlight of the meal was definitely the sausages and that coffee, so good! I'll be back for more, lol. Crab Benedict I Cynivised it by adding the potato hash croquette instead of English muffins. The potatoes were undercooked in both croquettes. The crab was so old it smelled and was visibly grey. Yes I told the waitress the food was old. Not sure she heard me as no other options were offered and still charged me for the bad inedible food. The hollandaise tasted more like white gravy, just bland and flavorless. The grits Were decent cheesy grits. This was my first time here and I can say with 100% certainty that I will be back. My family and I took a 3hr drive to eat her (and see my cousin) and it was worth the drive. Ambience: beautiful and clean. Very spacious and open. Plenty of seating options both inside and out. The place looks smaller on the outside but again once inside it is quite spacious. Service: Food came out quickly. Staff was very friendly and came frequently to check on us. You can tell that the staff exhibits "found family" and I love that. Food: all the food was AMAZING, NO EXAGGERATION. I could taste the freshness of the food. It reminded me of Sunday breakfast in SC. I ordered a sunrise scrambler with potatoes, the scrambler was good but honneeeeyyyyy, those potatoes...chefs kiss. My aunt had the bourbon pancakes and it was DELICIOUS but be sure to check your blood sugar after lol. However, the star of the show in my opinion was the shrimps and grits. There's a lot to like about this place, but there's definitely room for improvement--particularly when it comes to service. We stopped by on New Year's Day for brunch. My wife ordered the fried chicken biscuit with a poached egg, and I ordered the farmer's omelet (no mushrooms) along with a short stack. We also ordered beignets. Unfortunately, my omelet came out with mushrooms, even though the modification was clearly stated and repeated when the order was taken. By the time the mistake was addressed, I was already halfway through my short stack and didn't want to wait for a remake, so I let it go. What stood out to me, though, was that no manager or chef came by to acknowledge or apologize for the error, which was disappointing. Service overall felt inconsistent. The restaurant appeared both overstaffed and understaffed at the same time--there were plenty of people walking around, but very little awareness of tables that weren't "theirs." We sat for a good portion of the meal with empty water glasses, and no one checked in. I believe service works best when it's approached more as a team effort: even if there's a designated server per table, everyone on the floor should be paying attention to guests and stepping in when needed. The lack of management involvement was also concerning. Beyond losing a sale that day, situations like this risk losing repeat customers and, of course, result in reviews like this one. A simple acknowledgment from management would have gone a long way. That said, the food itself is good, and I think most people will enjoy what they order here. With some focused improvements in service and guest engagement, this place could be much better. read more

My cousin had reservations here for 12 of us on Saturday. They called a little before we arrived to see if we were coming because we were running a few minutes late. She confirmed we were 10 minutes away. We arrived and were greeted. It was pretty crowded but, our table was available. It ended up being 9 instead of 12 and they had no problem with that. 3 of us arrived 1st and then the other 6 a few minutes later. We were given menus. By it being pretty crowded it took a lit bit for us to place our order but, that was no problem because we had ran a few minutes late. Our orders were taken. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Everyone received just what they ordered. I ordered the fried chicken blt with fried onions instead of pickled onions and I got fried potatoes with it and a side of bacon. I ordered a drink. It was called brunch blueberry margarita. I didn't care much for the drink. When my food arrived I couldn't believe the side of the chicken sandwich. It had 4 tenders on it. The season was a little bland but, I still enjoyed it. The potatoes was delicious and the bacon EXCELLENT. My cousin introduced us to the owners wife and daughter before we left. They were very pleasant and thanked us for coming. As we were in the car to leave my cousin saw the actual owner and introduced us. He too, was very pleasant and thanked us for coming. I wouldn't mind coming back here to dine. We stopped in around 7:20 AM, just after they opened, and had a great experience from start to finish. Stiven was our server and made us feel welcome right away when we mentioned it was our first visit. I ordered the Hey Lucy omelette with a side of grits and coffee, while my husband went for the bacon burger with home fries. I couldn't resist adding the bourbon pancakes -- and wow, everything came out hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The flavors, presentation, and service were all on point. I enjoyed the grits and could been a meal by itself if as a bowl. For lunch, I tasted the gumbo and good flavor but too heavy on the old bay seasoning. Had two spoonful and got a headache due the high sodium content from the old bay seasoning. It would have been awesome and I would have given this place 4 stars if the order was correct and didn't experience the side effect from the gumbo. I would recommend reducing the measurement or use reduced sodium old bay. I would try it again and sit inside for the next visit. read more

The food here was hit or miss for me. The Bourbon street pancakes were delicious. We agreed that was the best dish out of what we ordered. The fried chicken sandwich did not have much going for it. Part of the issue was they used a tall stack of fried chicken tenders to build the sandwich rather than one piece of thigh or breast meat. This made for an impressive looking sandwich when the plate arrived, but it was not structurally stable and became a logistical challenge to eat. I gave up trying to keep it a sandwich and used a fork and knife. The flavor profile was boring- The tenders were just ok and I hardly tasted any ranch dressing on the bun. Their online waitlist system is not very accurate. We Joined the waitlist on our way to the restaurant 10 minutes away and the first page said 10-20 minutes. The second page quoted 15-30 minutes. From the time we entered the waitlist to being seated was just under an hour. An hour is not terrible to wait, but it was double what the system communicated. read more

Wow, this hidden gem really blew me away. My husband loves breakfast food and we were looking for a spot while working from home to grab a late breakfast and early lunch. Put our names on the wait list for what we were told would be a 30 to 40 minute wait. Ended up waiting almost 2 hours and then they say us way in the back by the bathroom. I really like this spot. You may have to wait around a little on the weekends for a table but its always worth the wait. The food is made to order and always comes to the table hot. There is a cute cornhole set outside and several benches to enjoy while you wait. There is indoor and outdoor seating as well as a small bar area. I have tried so many things from the French toast to the waffles and even a soft shell crab meal. Now the soft shell crab option is not one I would recommend however everything else has been exceptional. I love the ambiance it's bright and welcoming, we always have great service and there is a parking lot with more than enough spaces. I happen to stumble across this location for a meeting. I have visited this restaurant back home in Pearland Tx. I has happy to see that the chain has made it to Maryland. The restaurant is fresh looking and features a full bar. The staff were great. I can't pass up Shrimp and grits nor gumbo when I see it on a menu. Both were filling and tasty. Shrimp grits came with cheese on it by default. Good shrimp and grits do not need cheese. Neither did this one. It was filling. The gumbo was very tasty. The shrimp and crawfish were a nice touch and added tonits authenticity. The fresh toast was a nice simple treat that just added to the overall experience. I would definitely eat there again. The staff was friendly and accommodating, which is always a plus when you've got kids in tow. My husband and I went here for breakfast, for the first time today. Upon arriving, we were seated promptly. The restaurant is very spacious, well lit, but also very warm and inviting! My husband ended up, ordering the Powerball and I ordered the lemon, blueberry, and goat cheese, pancake pancakes. When we ordered, we asked Max about portion sizes and for recommendations and he was definitely correct when he said the portions are huge and he made some recommendations. Both of our meals were delicious! In fact, not just the food, but the coffee was great. I typically like a medium roast, and my husband likes a dark roast, but to keep things simple and because we've never been offered an option at a restaurant, my husband got the medium roast as well, and he said it was some of the best coffee he has ever had! Max was awesome. He was friendly and knowledgeable, but also very professional. We not only enjoyed our meal, but our interactions with him! We thought we reserved a spot in the queue online but as it turns out you have to check-in with the host before you're officially in the queue which is fine but you might as well remove the website waitlist. We waited for 30-45mins and the wait area is limited to be ready to stand out in the cold if you here on a holiday/weekend. I was surprised to look at the menu prices since they seemed to be at-least 1/3rd higher than typical brunch joints. The coffee was okay but had free refulls. The blueberry lemon pancakes were just fine. Also had the chicken salad sandwich and the hey lucy omelette. The omelette was the pick of the dishes.
