Iced americano, affogato with half decaf
    Puja P.

I was surprised with the location when I came across this coffee shop! It was nice that it was located next to a restaurant and brewery. I wanted to try the food but opted for the coffee this time. Wanted a sweet treat, so I got the affogato which didn't disappoint me. My friend got the Americano and loved how nice the espresso flavors came through. They got our orders done promptly. The place was cute and seems like a nice space to study or do work.

Coffee Shop No. 490 The Coffeehouse Annapolis Junction, MD April 2, 2025 A nice corner coffee shop with lots of natural light and plenty of seating. The cortado was served a bit too hot and it reminded me more of a flat white, but the baristas were friendly. If you're looking for a place to work or grab a bite to eat with your coffee this might be the spot for you. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

Decided to branch out and try a new place! This was on the list :) My husband and I ordered two coffees, two sandwiches, and a chocolate croissant. The sandwiches were delicious! We couldn't even finish them! The iced honey lavender latte was divine :) Not gonna lie, the croissant was just okay. It had the texture of a cinnamon roll on its side, and I think I that's what it was, just with a very light coating of chocolate. Kind of disappointed. Other than that, the service was pretty good, and the location was in a nice quiet area at Annapolis Junction. Will definitely have to come back and try their French toast!

"Matcha" latte which tastes like sweetened milk

They waited until I arrived to make the drinks, since "they were hot drinks so I didn't want to make them until you were here." I appreciate the sentiment of keeping my drinks hot but the point of ordering ahead was so I could grab them and stay on schedule. But ok, no biggie. Then my matcha tastes like steamed milk with some sweetener. It is a light brown color. I can maybe convince myself there is the slightest hint of green. Barista insists this is their matcha, as they use "a syrup and not a powder" so it isn't very green. But I assure you, they are charging prices consistent with using actual matcha powder. They looked great online, am super disappointed.

Went on a Saturday morning, this place is very cozy and has a couch and a few tables. Definitely a good place to study or do some work. I only ordered a mocha iced latte which was good but was very sweet so will ask for less sugar next time. But will try the food options next. but a solid place and will check back again!

Since the building I work in does not have a cafeteria, and I don't typically have time to make my own breakfast, The Coffeehouse in AJ has been my Go-To breakfast spot on In Office days! Especially because online ordering via Toast is super fast, easy, & convenient. I've tried multiple food items, the Daybreak Skillet, sandwiches, oatmeal, soups, (My fav, Roasted Red Pepper & Smoked Gouda YUM!), and more! Can't go wrong with any of those items I just named. The menu has a vast selection of items and is surprisingly not overpriced for a Coffeehouse. The location is quaint, with cozy seating options. All encounters with the staff have been pleasant. Free street parking is available but has a time limit. I don't drink coffee often but most of the specialty drinks I've tasted from here, Gourmet Hot Chocolate and a Chai Latte, were yummy. Definitely check them out!

Ok guys, I found my new favorite local coffee shop. Fall is mine & my Wife's favorite season for all the obvious reasons - we're hikers, fall is beautiful, it's less hot out. But also because we love all the traditional family time stuff - Pumpkin patch, Christmas lights, etc. This year we found a new fall/winter hobby that I think will stick around forever - local coffee shops. No not the trendy, mass production, coffee shop on every corner. Actual places, owned by locals with locally sourced products. We've found several places that we like but none like Coffeehouse. From the warm, inviting decorum, to the wide selection of drinks, to their specialty drinks that you can only get here ... this place is special. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and swing by.

This spot is perfect for breakfast or lunch. They have very cute chairs and small tables if you'd like to eat inside the shop. The service is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They go out of their way to make sure everybody's experience is pleasant. They add extralittle love on each cup of coffee, which makes a place worthwhile.

Super cute spot! I only came here to grab a coffee for my guy and chai latte for me so not food this time. The girl who made my drink had a great personality and was helpful. You order your drink at the kiosk at the front counter. Very efficient. My guy said he really liked the regular coffee a lot. My chai with oat milk was a bit sweet but it definitely hit the spot. Very fall-season like. I'll definitely come back if I'm in the area. Keep it up!

I visited this coffee house twice before but this time I was looking for a good breakfast followed by some work time. Upon entering the staff was friendly and greeted me. The atmosphere is your typical coffee house vibe with a little modern rustic kind of look to it. There is a space with a couch and an electric fireplace which is nice. I ordered off of the ordering touch screens they have which was pretty intuitive. I ordered a coffee, a veggie omelette and a cinnamon scone. (I said I was going to work from there so two breakfasts are okay right? lol) I got the drip coffee which is help yourself. It isn't as intuitive on how to prepare because the coffee is in one section and the items to add to your coffee are around the corner out of sight. The coffee was pretty good though. The omelette was good, fluffy and the veggies were fresh. It was big though so I couldn't finish it. A great value. The scone was, well, not really a scone. Like many places it was a muffin. It was decent for a muffin but I love a good, buttery, crumbly scone. This wasn't that so I would stick to the eggs or go for their donuts which are good! The two women behind the counter were a joy to be around while I worked and really enjoyed life, they made it an even better experience! Check this place out for sure!!

This place is relatively new. It is connected to a Pepperjacks sub shop and a brewery. It has a good selection of coffees, baked goods, and light food. If you want something heavier walk a few steps to Pepperjacks. I ordered a latte with double shot and an apple danish. Both were good. There was no crowd as the picture shows. I will have to come later in the day the next time to see if they get crowded. Also will have to check out the vibe at the brewery but that will come with another review.

My husband had a combo of sausage gravy over toast, eggs, house-made sausage patties, and country potatoes. Eggs were perfectly cooked, fried hard and a little crispy - just the way my husband likes them! Sausage is a little different but delicious. The potatoes had no grease and I couldn't stop eating them. I had the Belgian waffle with two very flavorful scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. Now for the best part - the waffle arrived with regular warmed syrup AND warmed Bananas Foster Butter Rum syrup. It was the most delicious syrup ever! They sure knocked it out of the ballpark with this!!! I actually had some of both syrups on my waffle! Decadent! Our server, Stiven, smiled the entire time, offered suggestions and was very polite. Nice clean restaurant and bathrooms. There is outdoor seating with beautiful aqua umbrellas, tables and chairs. Servers were constantly out there, so you wouldn't be ignored. Thank you for a great experience! Btw, we just discovered that Another Broken Egg Cafe has opened near us in Fairfax, VA, so we will be going there soon.

Today, I gave them another shot because Uber Eats was offering a buy one, get one free deal on the jerk chicken meal. I chose rice & peas with plantain for my sides. The chicken was cooked on the grill--which I love--because it really brings out the flavor in jerk chicken. I also requested my jerk sauce on the side since I prefer a dry rub style over a saucy one. The only drawback was the small bone pieces in the chicken and rice. That's something to be cautious about, especially if a child is eating the meal. The plantains were also inconsistent--some pieces were hard, while others were mushy. On the bright side, the coco bread was perfect and the Jamaican rum cake was phenomenal. Whoever baked that cake clearly took their time soaking it in rum. It reminded me of the way my grandmother used to make it--absolutely delicious. I would definitely order the rum cake again.

Usually with brunch we would do the bottomless mimosas and all but because I was driving I decided not to participate in that. And usually I would get chicken and waffles but I was in the mood for a burger. So I thought because their name is "Mad Cow" the burger would be the bomb...but nope it was not good at all. So I prefer a beef burger cooked medium with blue cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onions. When I burger got tot the table it was dry as a board. No blue cheese that I paid extra for and the burger was not cooked correctly it was cooked well done. Smdh. So the waiter brought me my blue cheese apologized about it and also gave me a mayo bottle. Even with the burger still was not good and the patty was so thick with no flavor not even salt and pepper was in it!! I tried their punch drink which was really good but for $15 a pop in a regular water glass was ridiculous. Make sure you don't get too tipsy as they already have like a 20% gratuity added on each of our checks no matter how small or big your group is which again is ridiculous! Will I come back...maybe only because I would like to try some Jamaican food they offer. But for brunch...it's a no for me!

I had…read moremy reservations about this restaurant for a number of reasons, which a lot of things were dispelled as it had been mostly a good experience. They were doing a great job on service, cordial, answered questions, & food was solid. It was when the bill came. I was going to tip 20% for his good service, but I was pissed when there was an automatic 18% gratuity added to the bill for just two of us. That was so obnoxious. That's the crap they'd do in DC with their Initiative 82 nonsense. Or it is common practice for a large enough party to do forced 18% or whatever gratuity, which still is annoying. 90% of the time I'm tipping at least 18%, but what about the other 10% where the service sucks, slow, &/or surly?! They are subsidizing lousy servers with that guaranteed 18%. This place opened maybe last summer or so, and it was kind of a nice addition to Corridor Marketplace. I wasn't terribly interested in spicy Caribbean food, granted not all spicy. It's a Caribbean-Italian fusion. I checked the menu online not long after they opened and before deciding to finally give this local place in my neighborhood a try when they were nice enough to give 20% off. I determined the food is strange although they had some stuff that might be appealing but seemed overprice. $36 for lasagna seems steep to me, but it's oxtail lasagna so some fancy beef I suppose. Initially, I tried calling to make my reservation on Monday, but no one answered and then realized Monday is the day they are closed. I called 3 times on Tuesday afternoon, but no one answered, which was a bit of a negative. However, while on my 3rd call to them, I was on a walk, and I decided I'd try walking in since I wasn't all that far from Catherine's on my walk. The restaurant was dead as it was about 3:30 in the afternoon, and the server was nice getting my reservation in for an early dinner on Thursday as I had a meeting at 7 PM and also something enough I was ideally trying to do before that. My friend & fellow Russett resident arrived on time. We discussed the red ropes and carpeting outside, which I've always thought was too much. It blocks almost the entire sidewalk over there, which was one thing that turned me off to the restaurant originally. My older friend who walks with a cane made an interesting comment I didn't think of but agreed that it could be hazardous to someone with a cane, elderly, or handicap. Although I don't think the red rope/carpeting is necessary at all, perhaps they could consider pulling it back some. We were seated at a white table cloth seats. They have booth/table combinations, individual tables of varying sizes, and the bar area. Server promptly came over. The place is nicely decorated with good lighting, but was quite warm as the big windows brought in the hot sun even though it was only maybe 60 F outside, but I'm sure in the summer & when it's legitimately warm outside they have the AC cranking. I just water as I wanted to be clearheaded for the 7 PM meeting, but I heard from another neighbor there that the sangria drink was good & strong. My friend ordered a drink, but it never came for her, which she didn't care, but that was an error on their part. I asked the server several questions about his recommendations & various other aspects of the menu. I settled on what I had originally had leaned to when I had looked at the menu online and the Yelp reviews I saw. I got the rasta pasta with chicken. My friend got the oxtail lasagna. Although I'm not big on spicy foods in general, and the rasta pasta was pretty spicy, it still wasn't so ridiculously spicy that it detracted on the good taste. The portion size was bigger than I realized, which was a plus too. I could've pigged out and eaten the whole sucker, but I decided to not overeat and save half as a leftover. Based on some reviews/pics, I was thinking the rasta pasta wasn't going to be that big, and that it'd be one sitting. In 2024, my girlfriend & I had gone to an Italian restaurant, where the portion size was not much where I didn't have leftovers, which was annoying for the price there, and I had no 20% off or any sort of discount. I asked to try a bite of my friend's oxtail lasagna as I was curious to see what oxtail was all about. It was very good, but it's still not worth $36 although debatable with the 20% off about $29, I would've been satisfied with it. Further, it looked bigger than I was thinking. Water refill came in a timely enough manner, which always important. It had been overall a pleasant experience, and I was ready to give 4-stars, but as I said before the forced 18% gratuity was a big turnoff, which lowered it to 3-stars. Forced gratuity is a major turnoff. I might've considered coming back with the high full prices, but I won't come back with that forced gratuity nonsense.

Upon entering, I received a warm and delightful greeting from Kristin and Grace. They explained their menu concept and services they offered. It just also happened to be Wednesday and on every Wednesday, they offer waffles and each waffle with any topping of your choice. Each waffle has up to 22 grams of protein. RISE UP offers a healthy snack/meal choice for shakes, teas, and snacks. Shakes have around 24g of protein, 24 vitamins and Minerals, with up to 350 calories based on the shake option. On my first visit, I ordered the Salted Caramel Mocha. Yes, it taste as good as it sounds. On my second visit, I ordered the waffles with bananas and strawberries. It is equally as good as the shake I had. Gluten free options are available. Stop in and give Rise UP a try. They also offer fitness programs and they support those living healthier lifestyles.
