Rise up is top notch! Their coffee is delicious and the coffee smoothie is amazing. No wonder it's what made them famous. The original coffee smoothie (with their homemade whip cream if you're feeling crazy) is my favorite coffee in the world. The shop is the cutest and the baristas are so friendly. Sometimes I bring my dog through the drive thru with me and they say hi to her every time!

Such a cute little coffee shop right next to the plant nursery! Love the chill vibe, the coffee was amazing, and the barista was super nice. Feels like a hidden spot surrounded by plants. Definitely coming back!

Don't know why it took me so long to try this place, but it did not disappoint. Let's start with the drinks. They have a great range of drink menu ideas and you can also buy some beans to take home. I got an iced latte and it was perfection. Not all places make ice lattes right, but this place definitely does. You order at the front and pick up your drinks I around the other side of the counter. Now let's talk food. They have great breakfast items from bowls and burritos to breakfast sandwiches with made from scratch biscuits. You order your food at the register with your drinks, but they have a separate window to pick up your food. Everything is wrapped to go but they have plenty of seating to enjoy there. If you're in a rush they do have already made breakfast sandwiches at the counter that you can grab and go, but it's with English muffins not the biscuits. Do not skip those home made biscuits you will not regret it. We also ordered avocado toast and that was delicious as well. You can choose to add an egg but I enjoyed it without it. Friendly and welcoming staff. This cafe is situated right next to a store with its own entrance that leads to it. Decent amount of parking space but this place does get busy ( for good reason). If you don't have the time to go inside they have a drive thru!

I've been here a few times and have been meaning to leave a review so here we go! I've been going to this rise up here and there since they've opened. I typically get the Jamaican Iced tea which has an apple pie kind of taste to it and has always been my favorite drink! The people that work there are quick even when it's busy and the fact that it's located right next to the homestead is great because you can walk around and look at everything next door, it creates a nice vibe to the place being located to a store filled with cool trinkets and plants. I got a coffee smoothie this time around and honestly it's really yummy. I saw that they have a chocolate banana coffee smoothie and I think that's what I'm going to try next time!

Good service, decent food, and great coffee are the hallmarks of all of the Rise Up locations. I like going here for the occasional Açaí bowl, which always has great flavor. Their coffee is always good, and the staff smiling, even for small orders. I'll continue to be a regular at this location, as it is convenient and efficient.

Overall great experience! Food does take a while to get so recommend ordering ahead. Me and my fiance got the following: 1. Açaí bowl (0/10) : I would avoid this item all together. The açaí is frozen with not fresh ingredients at all. Very bland. 2. Sun Rise burrito (8/10) : great solid breakfast burrito (had chorizo, eggs, cheese, tater tots and black beans) 3.Cinnamon toast crunch latte (7/10) : really good latte just a little too sweet recommend asking less pumps of what they use.

Fantastic local coffee place to the MD area. This is a great place to meet up with a friend and sit outside on a nice day. Not a great place to do work as there isn't much corner space. Would recommend. Staff was very friendly.

Drive thru is up and running! Parking has gotten better now that the area has ended construction. There is a lot more room to enter and exit easier. Out of all their 13 locations, this one is most likely my favorite due to the connected garden shop, Savvy Consignments behind Rise, and a local donut shop down the street. Rise Up provides the energy for endless errand runs. Summer weather is here! Go grab a banana coffee smoothie =)

They have great coffee and amazing service. I will continue to go there. It's better than all the other coffee places around.

Great coffee with a nice variety of cuisine and sweets. Tried the breakfast sandwiches too. Pretty good. Connected to the Homestead Gardens shop which is really cool.

My first time at this rise up location (and second time at rise up overall)! First off, The space is huge which I love unlike the Annapolis location. The coffee is always great at rise up, especially the flavored lattes. My favorite so far is their Irish cream flavor that is seasonal! In terms of food, the sunset burrito was AMAZING especially with their agave siracha sauce (they have so many hot sauce flavors aka my favorite condiment !!). The açaí bowl however was a 0/10 per my fiancé. I had a taste and I agree -- it was essentially a frozen açaí with a topping of fruits and granola. He couldn't even scoop out the açaí as you can see in the picture + it was flavorless. We ended up throwing it away and just eating the fruit. Otherwise I would've given rise up a 5/5!

Easy drive-through and delicious coffee. I've had their cinnamon roll as well and it was well frosted but not overly sweet.

I had heard about a seafood place in Severna Park, but I wasn't in the mood for seafood. That's when I came across Betty Lou's. As soon as I looked at the food photos, I knew that's where we were headed. It was about a 20 minute ride from Annapolis not bad at all. Betty Lou's is located in a shopping center. There were a few cars in the lot when we pulled up, but I wasn't sure if they were there for the restaurant or other businesses nearby. When we walked in, there was one person sitting at the bar. We asked if we could sit there, and the bartender (don't remember her name) was very pleasant and welcoming. She thanked us for coming in, and when I mentioned I found the place on Yelp, she explained that everything is made fresh to order. They have an excellent selection of craft drinks on the menu, the assortment of cocktails and wines that look very good. My wife ordered an iced tea, and I had the Jimmy Red Old Fashioned. The drink looked fantastic, and she took her time carefully measuring each ingredient. That's how cocktails are supposed to be made balanced and flavorful, not just tasting like straight liquor. If I wanted that, I'd just order bourbon neat. For lunch, my wife ordered the meatloaf with collard greens and roasted potatoes. I had already decided on the chicken pot pie after seeing it online. I did find it a little strange they don't offer mashed potatoes as a side with meatloaf, that would've made it a home run in my opinion. When the food arrived, everything looked excellent. The pot pie was larger than I expected compared to the pictures, and the meatloaf was a generous portion as well. After the first bite, I can honestly say it was one of the best chicken pot pies I've had loaded with tender chicken, carrots, onions, celery, and a rich, flavorful gravy. And the pastry crust? The BEST I've ever had. It was big enough that I had leftovers for dinner. My wife's meatloaf was tender and flavorful, and the collard greens were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The roasted potatoes were just okay again, mashed would've put it over the top but that's just personal preference. She also had plenty leftovers for dinner. The food was great, the décor was nicely done, and the service was excellent. If this place were closer to home, it would definitely be a regular spot for us. We need something like this down in Calvert County. Overall, if you're looking for a great meal and well-crafted drinks, Betty Lou's is absolutely worth the drive even if you live a little ways away.

Funny thing is the night they offered that, I had made it for my husband and he had the leftovers for his lunch, so he opted for a salad that night. In the restaurants defense, as someone that makes the dish, it takes some space to marinate the meat for a few days and maybe that's the problem....but honestly I tasted the gravy on her dish and it was great, so I understand her disappointment and maybe Jimmy's needs to reevaluate having that or finding a way to accommodate other diners. So we went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We are always looking for places to eat on the weekends, and there are just not enough breakfast places in the area. We walked in at around 8 and they still weren't real busy. We got a nice booth and were served coffee and our server got our order pretty quick. Johnny's is diner like, so everything is on your table ready to go....and what I really liked is that I didn't have to ask anyone to get a Tabasco sauce for me. It was already on the table! Both my husband and I ordered sausage and swiss omelettes. They both came out cooked done and hot with just the right about of cheese. I know a lot of places we go seem to be skimping on that, but we want to taste it in our bite and we did! Our server refilled our coffee and was very pleasant. There is nothing like the hometown vibe that are in small restaurants and this one is no exception.
