we had a great time at the hideaway! the parking lot was full - we took the last spot on a Saturday night just before 6 pm. despite this, there were plenty of available tables and they offered indoor or outdoor seating. we opted for indoors and rather than wait for a regular table we took a high top. our server Nick was very attentive - we had our drinks in no time and once we knew what we wanted there was a quick turnaround from the kitchen. the pork belly appetizer was really good. perfectly seasoned and so tender. my husband enjoyed his jalapeño stuffed baked potato, and i enjoyed my smoked fried chicken. the chicken was flavored perfectly - not too overwhelming but not boring either. the hush puppies were good. the mashed potatoes were so so - definitely needed more gravy if i wanted to finish them. the portions were massive - i ate two of four pieces of smoked chicken and about half the mashed potatoes. same experience with the dessert - the apple crisp was a HUGE portion (that plate it's served on is a dinner plate/salad bowl) and it definitely required two of us to finish. it was well spiced and the apples were tender. the ambiance was basically what you'd expect - it's kind of sports bar ish. we were in the bar area, but it wasn't crazy loud. they had sports on the TV but it wasn't everywhere and it wasn't in our direct eye line (which was nice). the wall hangings appear to be your typical saloon-type decor, but they're not obnoxious. my husband had gone in a week or so before for a work thing. he was impressed with the "fatty melt" and was happy to come back. no complaints! there's a good chance we'll add this to the rotation for our nights out. read more

Great little spot near my house honestly, one of my favorites is the brussels sprouts! I love the ambience. We had a very enjoyable brunch here. The mimosa tower was a big hit - it's like a beer tower that bars drag out for football games that lets you pour your own drinks. Much more fun than a pitcher. This place has a great happy hour at the bar if you want to try some of their more popular appetizer items. Seating at the bar is pretty spacious and has great service; they also expanded their outside seating that is covered. For food, I suggest trying the naked, smoked and flash fried wings. You can always get the sauce on the side. If you like bleu cheese, it's a little different here but I enjoy it even though I've never really liked bleu cheese. Ordered the chicken pot pie and it was so thick and full of carrots, potatoes and peas that there was barely amy chicken in it. I ate the top crust and thankfully had a side salad but as you can see I paid @ $18 for something I did not like. When the waitress asked if I needed to go box, I said no it wasn't that good. I would have more inside light, but there is ample outdoor seating w/umbrellas during suitable weather. Ambient music is not so loud you can't easily converse. If I could go 4 1/2 stars I would! My family and I are having a heated debate on whether I should be giving five stars. The cream of crab with the corn in it is chowder esque and it is so good. It's ridiculous. My sons had the brisket sandwiches and there was nothing left. My wife and I split the sampler and did not disappoint! The collard greens and the brussels sprouts will make you count your blessings. They were phenomenal the ribs. The brisket, the wings were off the chain. The service staff was phenomenal, especially our waitress Katie was so engaged. In the food came out quickly and hot. This might be another go to spot. It was awhile since I had been here but my review is still the same. They changed up the bar area a bit though. This was where I had my first smoked old fashioned years ago, so I had to get one during my recent visit. I also tried the "gold rush" (bourbon based) and highly recommend it. We sat at the bar. Service was great. Had to the get their blackberry chipotle wings. Yummy! Tried the jalapeño eggrolls and it was tasty but not spicy enough. I saw when they were making a mimosa tower. This is the first time I ordered my Uber Eats for this restaurant I got salmon greens mac and cheese and a deep dish apple pie everything was delicious the total for all that was $33 of course there's seven dollars tax and then the tip for the Uber guy but if he was eating in the restaurant that's a nice price for that and the food really was delicious I got the whiskey sauce on the salmon. My particular favorite was the Carolina The real banger for this place was the pappy flight. I was so excited to see that they had 15 year but then when I saw the flight I completely lost my head. It was for the grand total of $165 which is quite a bargain and they were very generous with the pour as well as labeling everything. It made a perfect meal perfect Parking is free in a private lot and off street Service was excellent. No issues. Waiter was very attentive polite. The initially sat me in a booth which was blinding me with sun and when I pointed that out they happily moved me. No questions asked. Bathroom is clean. Good ambience I like the sports bar ethos. Plenty of TVs to look at. Although I was mostly on the phone chit-chatting with friends who weren't joining me. It's just a good spot to hang out in if you want a dine solo. Stopped by on a whim last night and I'm so glad we did. Easy parking, friendly hostess, phenomenal server (Matt) and the food did not miss. Ordered the dry spicy-hot wings (bruhhhhh, award winning for a reason), an orange crush, brisket with collard greens and Mac and cheese, and the burnt tips on pilaf with their signature cornbread. Everything was excellent! They have a bar-side with high tops and a dining-side with tables and booths. Outside had stringed lights and I'm sure it's a vibe when the weather is mild. My husband and I went here for brunch today. We used to go to this restaurant decades ago when it was called Jim's Hideaway. Walking in, we noticed that the dining room we were sat in was pretty empty. We were seated pretty quickly. They seemed to put everybody in the other dining room. I'm not sure why we were exiled! The decor is a little bit rustic and definitely could use some repairs. We are not huge barbecue fans, but there were items on the brunch menu that we enjoy at other breakfast spots so we thought we would give them a try. I ordered the Belgian waffle, which came with a huge amount of whipped cream. It was a bit too much for my liking. The fruit, candied, pecans, and lemon sauce were good. The waffle itself was cooked fine, but it could have been a little crispy. My husband is a huge chicken and waffle fan and not many restaurants. Serve bone in chicken on their chicken and waffles so he was looking forward to that. Unfortunately, we should have thought about the fact that it's a barbecue spot. His chicken was not battered and fried. It was Smoked. So, it wasn't the usual chicken and waffles. If you'd like barbecue, you will probably enjoy this restaurant, whether it be for brunch or any other meal. This is not the spot for us. read more

We've been to the Hideaway many times, but never for Happy Hour. In a word, fantastic! We loved the burnt end tacos. We actually loved all of it, but the sauce on the tacos was really memorable. Just the right spice! Friendly bartenders made it really nice after a bad day at work and shout out to John the manager who asked us about our experience. I give The Hideaway 5 stars because of the fact that those dang Award Winning Wings (dry hot) are a BANGER every SINGLE time. They are ALWAYS so hot and seasoned to perfection! The ONLY complaint I have is that you can't do an all-flats/all-drumettes order. Otherwise, I will come here exclusively for the wings. Now, I have tried other things here, and lots of them are also delicious, such as the hush puppies, the jalapeno brisket rolls, and the crabby fries. The one thing I would not order again is the mac and cheese. I know it's a preference thing; I just don't like the style of their mac and cheese, and if you know, you know! The staff is always awesome, very accommodating, especially because this place is really popular with military, so more often than not they are dealing with large parties. The place is actually quite large also, so they are able to host multiple large parties at once as well as smaller groups throughout the restaurant.
