    matcha latte

I visited Roco yesterday for late lunch. I ordered egg and cheese sandwich and it was delicious. I was surprised they gave me a lot of egg and the way it was cooked was just right, no burnt edges. I also ordered the matcha and was just right. I liked that you can eat in or outside so I took my sandwich and matcha in the outdoor seating. The employees were nice and I forgot my wallet in my car. The person getting my order was so nice that he saved my order until I got back. By the time I got back, my food was ready.

As I cafe hopper, I encourage you to try out this new spot. They've hired several staff that are literally waiting for YOU. I was between meals, so I tried the yogurt and it was refreshing. The prices are moderate, my yogurt and drink cost $15. Their bathrooms are gender neutral and the restaurant is bright and clean. Headphones would have helped my focus. Though the staff was pretty quiet, they enjoy working together and it showed. I became distracted, ugh, my work avoidance. I do plan to return.

I saw a few posts in a local foodie facebook group regarding this new business. I had to give it a try especially after seeing those doughnuts! Came in the late afternoon on a Saturday and therefore the doughnuts were sold out, bummer but not their fault. I'm honestly glad to hear they sold out, small businesses need our support. We ordered a two iced mocha latte's. Mine was made with almond milk. Both were perfectly made! The service was amazing with two helpful baristas. I can't wait to give this place another try and I'll be sure to come earlier for the doughnuts.

This new coffee shop in hickory ridge is definitely worth checking out. They have a sit down service side and a quick order counter. Plenty of nice outdoor seating as well. It's a very nice space if you're looking to hang out in a coffee shop. The menu looks basic and the pastry case doesn't look like much, but my latte and donut blew my mind. I think the donut was homemade. It was airy, chewy, and everything you want in a donut. The latte was also good. Just enough foam, smooth espresso, and made well. I wish they had a milk that wasn't whole milk because I do not prefer oat milk, but that's what I got because of the lack of milk options. I can't wait to go back and try more of the food based on the 2 things I tried. The menu is very promising and I can't wait to take my kids to try it.

New coffee and brunch spot in Columbia! I just tried their signature Brown Butter latte after a walk in Centennial Park. I love that they're using a La Marzocco espresso machine and Alma coffee beans. I'll definitely have to check out that coffee brand. I'm excited to come back and sit in. It looks like a great place to grab brunch with family and friends.

We had Claudia for our waitress and she was awesome! We were her only table at 2:45pm on a Tuesday and she treated us like friends. This was our first time at this location and we will definitely be back. The decor was very uptown professional meets industrial. High open ceilings with sleek black walls and marble looking tables. Very fun big bar as well. We got everything she recommended and it was so good! We got the Eggstravaganza (Brioche French Toast with two eggs, choice of meat and potatoes) and the Flatbread Sourdough Pizza with Pepperoni, grilled onions and peppers, and extra cheese. For drinks we got the seasonal Pistachio Latte and the Tropical Teaser smoothie that was a refreshing fresh fruit smoothie with mango, banana, pineapple and strawberries. The food came out hot and fresh. The flavors were fantastic! The chicken juicy and crispy. The waffles fluffy and crispy. The potatoes... omg delicious!! The food alone was fantastic but wish the turnover service was more on top of it.

We started with the fried calamari. The breading was light and the calamari was very tender. It was probably one of the best calamari appetizers we have had out of dozens of restaurants we have been to. For the main dishes, we had the rattlesnake pasta. This is a pasta dish made with rotisserie chicken, mushrooms, red yellow and green peppers in a Cajun Alfredo sauce. The sauce was not too spicy with just enough bite. It was excellent. I don't usually care for mushrooms but this dish was amazing. The portion sizes were huge. Enough, that we were able to make another meal for the two of us with the leftovers. For dessert we had the cheesecake with oreo cookie crust. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. She was helpful with suggestions. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and spacious. It is decorated with beautiful wood trim. The booths can easily sit six people each. The dining area is huge. I estimate that it can sit anywhere from two hundred to three hundred if not more guests. Soothing music was played throughout the restaurant. There is a bar serving mixed drinks and beer as well as soft drinks. The restrooms are spotless and just as beautiful as the rest of the restaurant. The rotisserie chicken is made fresh and cooked in a rotisserie pit right next to the kitchen. We will be going back with family to try their prime rib. Prices are slightly above average but warranted. You are paying for an elevated dining experience with both the food quality and ambiance. There is ample parking in a large parking lot. The restaurant also offers a separate dining area for special events with outdoor dining. I highly recommend eating at this restaurant.

I opened up my Yelp app to see if I had bookmarked anything nearby and T&J's Waffles was the first spot that popped up. I didn't know it was walk up location. I was all prepared to sit at a table and have breakfast, but I was already there and I wasn't leaving without food. My dad and I both ordered the classic breakfast platter. It came with two waffles, probably three eggs (we added cheese so that was extra), 4 slices of bacon, and 2 sausage links, and hash brown. The waffles were such a cute shape and they were delicious. I can't confirm this, but I imagine it's their own special batter. They were very generous with the scrambled eggs and I didn't even have to add salt & pepper. I like that there were two meat options. I just wish my bacon wasn't all stuck together to form one piece. Also, the bacon could've been cooked a little more. It was a little fatty and I like a little more crisp. The star of the show was the hash brown. It definitely seemed like it was homemade. This may have been my first time having a homemade hash brown. I'm not sure what they did to it, but here's my guess. It looks shredded potatoes, mixed with green onion, and maybe some cheese, that was packed like a patty & shallow fried. My goodness, I should've ordered some hashbrowns to go so I could eat them for the rest of the week. The platter was so good, I didn't even mind having to eat it in my car. Lol. It was filling & $16 well spent.

Ultimately we landed on the peach cobbler French toast, cinnamon roll French toast, and a 1/2 and 1/2 lunch special with chicken & waffles and a cup of jambalaya. I was told the peach cobbler French toast was really good. The cinnamon roll French toast was prepared perfectly. Not soggy which was surprising given how much syrup and melted cream was on the plate. It was just VERY sweet. It also came with a side of eggs and brown sugar sage sausage patties. I loved the sausage patties and 2 was just enough. The chicken and waffles were good, the chipotle honey that came on the side complimented the chicken really well. The jambalaya had potential, but could have been seasoned a bit heavier. I also ordered the raspberry peach palmer and it was bombbb. I'd absolutely recommend another broken egg and will definitely stop in again if there's a location nearby.

Another interesting moment was when my sister-in-law inquired about the salmon cakes and the waitress told her that most people send it back that it's for a more advanced pallet and it would be safer if she went with a seafood omelette. What if someone has allergies and gets seriously sick? I ended up ordering something else, the Turn House burger, which was good. We also ordered the fish & chips, and that was good too. Overall, the food was okay, but nothing amazing. We ordered two desserts: the brownie sundae and the carrot cake. Honestly, they were the worst desserts I've had in a long time. The carrot cake was dry and tasted sugar-free. The brownie was also dry, and you can't really call it a sundae when it only comes with a tiny scoop of ice cream. Overall, this place just isn't good. There are much better restaurants nearby, so save your time and money and go somewhere else.
