My dad can't stop talking about this place. I drove him to an appointment and afterwards we decided to grab some breakfast. I opened up my Yelp app to see if I had bookmarked anything nearby and T&J's Waffles was the first spot that popped up. I didn't know it was walk up location. I was all prepared to sit at a table and have breakfast, but I was already there and I wasn't leaving without food. My dad and I both ordered the classic breakfast platter. It came with two waffles, probably three eggs (we added cheese so that was extra), 4 slices of bacon, and 2 sausage links, and hash brown. The waffles were such a cute shape and they were delicious. I can't confirm this, but I imagine it's their own special batter. They were very generous with the scrambled eggs and I didn't even have to add salt & pepper. I like that there were two meat options. I just wish my bacon wasn't all stuck together to form one piece. Also, the bacon could've been cooked a little more. It was a little fatty and I like a little more crisp. The star of the show was the hash brown. It definitely seemed like it was homemade. This may have been my first time having a homemade hash brown. I'm not sure what they did to it, but here's my guess. It looks shredded potatoes, mixed with green onion, and maybe some cheese, that was packed like a patty & shallow fried. My goodness, I should've ordered some hashbrowns to go so I could eat them for the rest of the week. The platter was so good, I didn't even mind having to eat it in my car. Lol. BLUF - T&J Waffles is *good*. When I think of Chicken & Waffles, for me personally, this is what I have in mind. I personally don't like it when restaurants will serve their own take on chicken & waffles and it ends up missing the essence of the dish. That essence of what I look for in the dish is the foundation of the food at T&J Waffles. The chicken is crispy and juicy with great sauce options to go with the meal. The waffles are light, airy, and sweet (but not overly sweet). I tend to frequent T&J Waffles whenever they come as the food truck, so YMMV if you eat at the brick & mortar location. That being said, I don't feel like there's an inherent loss of quality by eating at the food truck. My recommendation is to eat the food as soon as possible. Chicken and waffles to me has a very short shelf-life where the crispiness fades away shortly after. I think the best way to enjoy is to dig pretty much right away. Definitely check out the spot if you enjoy chicken and waffles! Side note: they have other options too that look delicious, but I can't not order the chicken & waffles when I go. read more

T&J's is the bombbbb. I'm only in Maryland for a few weeks for school purposes, but I am determined to come here every weekend til it's time to leave. Their savory waffles are unlike any I've had before. Cheese, egg, meat, or whatever you want can be melded together on a waffle to have all in one bite. I ordered an egg and cheese waffle, and shared a strawberry one with a friend. The egg and cheese was a perfect amount of sweet and savory. The strawberry one was really good too, but made from a different batter it seemed like. Sweeter of course, with a different texture, like a little more chewy, with small chunks of sugar. Not sure if it was sugar in the batter or from the powdered sugar, but it was good. Can't beat the price either. I remember the waffles being better. I pass this usually every Saturday when I go on my weekly KF12 Sichuan binge. Finally decided to stop in at Kendall's Hardware to pay T&J a visit since its been years since I had one of their waffle sandwiches in front of a brewery. Ended up getting their Chicken Cordon Bleu and a Chocolate Filled Waffle. The cordon bleu part was itself was pretty good and very cheesy. It's made separate of the waffles and you can build the sandwich as you please. However the waffles themselves are just flavorless vessels to hold whatever you decided to order between the waffles. I guess [French] waffles are just flavorless? I just seem to remember them being sweeter, or maybe they used to come with Belgian waffles. I also seem to remember having syrup available with my waffles, but it wasn't in the bag and/or they would have asked me if I wanted any like they asked me about utensils. Oh well. The chocolate-filled Belgian waffle was okay. A little too much powdered sugar on top. Nothing mind blowing from this meal that will keep me coming back often, but it'll remain on the list of options. They also have a storefront that I'll have to visit to compare. read more

Man was I wrong -- it was so good that I finished the whole thing basically before leaving the parking lot. The only downside to this place is that it is outdoor kind of like a food truck. I've heard about this place for years and Never had the time to check it out until today- and I definitely was not disappointed! I had the berry waffle with whip cream and it was delicious! First off, for 6 dollars the portion size was huge- the perfect size to share. I really enjoyed the fresh berries, and the fact that the whole waffle wasn't overly sweet. This is the best place to get breakfast on a Saturday morning. It just happens to be served in a truck. Food trucks are the dinning experience of our era. It's fast service, good food and you have to hunt them down. T and j waffle truck really is a great way to get your waffle fix, that is if ur able to track them down. The food is worth waiting in line for. The food is made fresh to order. My favorite thing to do is get a savory dish and a sweet dish in one order. That way I can get the sweet and savory fix. When you take your food to go, the food does get super soggy. So if you can try to open the container lid and if you can try to eat it in your car. Also to keep your food from getting soggy ask them for syrup to go. And pour the syrup at home! Overall, this food truck is worth every single calorie and it's even worth the wait, even in the cold! read more

I had a chicken avocado blt from T&J and by the time I was ready to dig in, the waffle was super soggy, also the chicken was a bit rough, and the bacon burnt. I'm giving four stars b/c let's face it, where else besides T&J could I find heaping hot waffles and fruit topping located just outside of our back to school night at my son's elementary school?! Exceeded my expectations! I'm always wary of food trucks which are usually overpriced and not so great. The pulled pork sandwich was so good! So much pork and it was very tender. So good with the perfectly crispy waffle. The strawberry banana speculoos waffle was also good. The waffle itself can stand alone because it's perfectly crispy and soft and perfectly sweet even without all of the toppings. This is saying a lot because I've had mediocre waffles where the toppings are totally needed. Whyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!! Why fix something that isn't broken? What is this new (and I think more expensive) brisket? It is terrible. Terribly salty, terribly wrong. Just terrible. I used to be one of T&J's biggest fans. Like "my kids got out of school at noon on Wednesdays and we used to go on a hunt for where the food truck was parked that day" biggest fans. Since I've been watching my carbs, I hadn't indulged in T&Js for a while. Today, however, I thought I'd treat myself to a post birthday meal at one of my favorite trucks. When I got it the first thing I asked was "you changed the brisket?!" It really wasn't a question. I knew they had changed it. I honestly don't know how long it has been changed though. The young lady working the truck swore that their customers LOVE THE NEW BRISKET. Me...ummm there's absolutely no way this new recipe even comes close to what it was. I am soooo disappointed!! Happy Birthday to me (insert side eye). Btw, it is nowhere near the same amount of brisket that we used to get and it also seems to be cut a little thinner I think. I am, however, forcing myself to eat it because...yea $13!!!! Oh, and I don't remember the syrup tasting this weird either. It's all just wrong. My girlfriend and I have been coming here for almost a year now, usually once a week. It's a little tricky to find them, you have to check their Facebook page because Friday-Sunday they are open at different places. They are this little trailer with their name, logo, and some waffles on it. The first time I came to the waffle truck, we almost missed it because it's smaller than you think. But, let me tell you, they have the best waffles I've ever had. There's a reason my girlfriend and I come here once a week, it's because when we eat their waffles... It's like a tasty reminder that the weekend is here and you can relax. My girlfriends favorite waffle is the mixed berries with whipped cream and syrup. Mine is the raspberry dulce de leche with whipped cream and syrup... And OH MAN is it good. That's by far my favorite waffle there! They also have savory waffles, I've had the egg and cheese one and a waffle with egg, cheese, spinach, tomato, and butter; that was fantastic as well. But, those are on the pricier side. The waffles we usually get are both $6. You can usually find that there's a decent line for the waffle truck, and that's for good reason! Also, I had to wait for several orders to come out (not just one) before even getting to place my order and the wait after that was substantial. I was not impressed with the waffles, as other reviewers mentioned they are dense and not light or fluffy. The breakfast or savory options are clearly not their forte, my breakfast sandwich was mostly sausage (two giant parties), hardly any egg, and Canadian bacon (in error!). My family seemed to be ok with the plain waffles they ordered, I'd be willing to give it another shot with a sweet option. Prices were reasonable. read more

The service was as quick as you would expect from a food truck, and reasonably priced for the portions received. I got the beef brisket and waffles, which normally wouldn't be my first choice, but I was extremely satisfied with my decision. The serving of beef was very generous, and quite possibly the best brisket I've ever had. I also got to try a small bite of my girlfriend's chicken bacon ranch, which was also seemed very tasty, unfortunately I didn't get to confirm that since she ate the rest of it very quickly...and she rarely finishes a meal. This review is long overdue. Went here a week ago, maybe 2 and loved it. First and foremost, the address is NOT correct because I stopped by twice to the address only to find out they weren't there. My dumbass should have called first buuuut I just wanted me some waffle sammiches. :( So I called one day and the owner told me they were located right in front of the fitness building by the United Artists movie theaters. Finally, after attempting to find them, third times the charm. I parked, went up there and it's a husband, wife and son team I believe and they're some of the most outgoing people around. I've had a very humorous and informative conversation with them. After talking to them for a good 10 minutes, I decided to order a few things. They recommended me getting their Asiago Chicken or something like that so I got that, the breakfast platter sandwich and their most popular Banana and Nutella dessert. I got it to go and drove home, opened it up and the waffles weren't crispy at all. Why? Because they were in containers and I had to drive home so it would make sense that they wouldn't be crispy. But I took my first bite off of the Breakfast Waffle and it was SO GOOD. I'm a big fan of the McGriddle sandwiches at McDonalds though I don't go there often. The Breakfast sandwich here is like the McGriddle except 10 times better. Absolutely love it. I then took a bite of the chicken sandwich and that was delicious too, though I'd probably get something else next time. Banana and Nutella dessert was extraordinary. Extra ordinary. It was a chicken breast grilled to perfection on top of a sheet of cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, ranch, bacon, and waffles. The sandwich is served open face which makes the presentation even better. The flavors were on point, the chicken was moist and tender, and the bacon and sheet of cheese topped the cake. The staff was very friendly and actually helped me make my order decision. I would love for them to come back to my work so I can try more of their food. I would love to taste one of their sweet waffles, they looked really good. Don't drive by and think it can't possibly be good! It's great. This food truck is one of the areas' best kept secret. Definitely a place I will frequent! I'm not sure how they produce magic in such a small food truck, but they do it! They make waffles with these sugar pearls...think of them as special surprises within your surprisingly delicious waffles. As for the chicken and waffles. This place is okay. Worth a try at least. The prices are decent and the service cordial, but the waffles aren't the best I've had. My wife and I immediately gravitated towards the chicken and waffles. It came with a grilled chicken breast (not fried?), lettuce (whaaaat?), and bacon (by no means traditional, but hell yes!). Throw a little syrup on the lot and you have a solid meal. The bacon almost makes up for the fact that the chicken is not buttermilk fried...almost. The chicken, bacon, and ranch waffle sandwich is an interesting take on a classic flavor combination, but the waffles don't seem to elevate the concept. An okay truck.
