BLUF - T&J Waffles is *good*. When I think of Chicken & Waffles, for me personally, this is what I have in mind. I personally don't like it when restaurants will serve their own take on chicken & waffles and it ends up missing the essence of the dish. That essence of what I look for in the dish is the foundation of the food at T&J Waffles. The chicken is crispy and juicy with great sauce options to go with the meal. The waffles are light, airy, and sweet (but not overly sweet). I tend to frequent T&J Waffles whenever they come as the food truck, so YMMV if you eat at the brick & mortar location. That being said, I don't feel like there's an inherent loss of quality by eating at the food truck. My recommendation is to eat the food as soon as possible. Chicken and waffles to me has a very short shelf-life where the crispiness fades away shortly after. I think the best way to enjoy is to dig pretty much right away. Definitely check out the spot if you enjoy chicken and waffles! Side note: they have other options too that look delicious, but I can't not order the chicken & waffles when I go.
Finally got a chance to visit on an early Saturday afternoon. When you order, you'll get one of those vibrating alert things with a number that will match the one marked on your order. Only took a few minutes for my order despite 3 people ahead of me. Waffles are crispy and have a cool design Chicken is juicy and crispy as well Very good as a big sandwich Definitely coming back to try some of the dessert varieties.
T&J's is the bombbbb. I'm only in Maryland for a few weeks for school purposes, but I am determined to come here every weekend til it's time to leave. Their savory waffles are unlike any I've had before. Cheese, egg, meat, or whatever you want can be melded together on a waffle to have all in one bite. I ordered an egg and cheese waffle, and shared a strawberry one with a friend. The egg and cheese was a perfect amount of sweet and savory. The strawberry one was really good too, but made from a different batter it seemed like. Sweeter of course, with a different texture, like a little more chewy, with small chunks of sugar. Not sure if it was sugar in the batter or from the powdered sugar, but it was good. Can't beat the price either. You can either take it to go, or enjoy it at the picnic tables around the corner of the hardware store.
I've been wanting to try T&J Waffles for a long time but kept missing them. They're not at their Clarksville location everyday of the week so Yelp is misleading. Follow their Facebook for an accurate schedule because they move around a lot. I love the waffles at Waffie and my friend told me to try T&J Waffles. I ordered a Nutella banana waffle and ended up waiting a little longer than usual so the owner graciously gave me a free sugar waffle. The waffles are delicious! They were warm, fresh, and sweet! They have sweet and savory options which gives you a variety of options. If you love waffles, you won't be disappointed here. Definitely stop by and give this place a try!
How have I not reviewed my favorite food truck yet!? Hands down the best waffle you will ever eat in your life! Wanna know how good these waffles are? Sometimes my husband picks them up during his lunch break and doesn't get home until 8 p.m.--- and they're still delicious! Mind you, I usually get the dessert style waffle with no ice cream or whipped topping (so it doesn't get soggy).. But still, the waffle is amazing! My favorite combinations are banana and Nutella or mixed berry. Strawberry with caramel is also good, as well as the waffle in a cup with mixed fruit. Ugh, so bad for you, yet so good! I follow this truck on Facebook so I can keep up with their locations. You can usually find them at Columbia Gateway, Jailbreak Brewing, Crofton Farmers Market, National Business Parkway, Piney Orchard, Earleigh Heights Fire Company, and Kendall Hardware. You can also follow them on Twitter!
This place was awesome!!! I got the berry waffle, and asked that the fruit be separated since I wasn't that hungry, and I didn't think I would finish the whole thing. Man was I wrong -- it was so good that I finished the whole thing basically before leaving the parking lot. The only downside to this place is that it is outdoor kind of like a food truck. There is no place to sit and eat your food so you are kinda forced to eat in your car. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone! The waffles are really delicious!
I've heard about this place for years and Never had the time to check it out until today- and I definitely was not disappointed! I had the berry waffle with whip cream and it was delicious! First off, for 6 dollars the portion size was huge- the perfect size to share. I really enjoyed the fresh berries, and the fact that the whole waffle wasn't overly sweet. I definitely will return soon, and in the future would love to try the savory options!
This is the best place to get breakfast on a Saturday morning. It just happens to be served in a truck. Food trucks are the dinning experience of our era. It's fast service, good food and you have to hunt them down. T and j waffle truck really is a great way to get your waffle fix, that is if ur able to track them down. The food is worth waiting in line for. The food is made fresh to order. My favorite thing to do is get a savory dish and a sweet dish in one order. That way I can get the sweet and savory fix. When you take your food to go, the food does get super soggy. So if you can try to open the container lid and if you can try to eat it in your car. Also to keep your food from getting soggy ask them for syrup to go. And pour the syrup at home! Overall, this food truck is worth every single calorie and it's even worth the wait, even in the cold!
Exceeded my expectations! I'm always wary of food trucks which are usually overpriced and not so great. The pulled pork sandwich was so good! So much pork and it was very tender. So good with the perfectly crispy waffle. The strawberry banana speculoos waffle was also good. The waffle itself can stand alone because it's perfectly crispy and soft and perfectly sweet even without all of the toppings. This is saying a lot because I've had mediocre waffles where the toppings are totally needed. Overall, definitely worth it and a lot better than expected from a food truck:) and the guys were all super nice
I had a chicken avocado blt from T&J and by the time I was ready to dig in, the waffle was super soggy, also the chicken was a bit rough, and the bacon burnt. I'm giving four stars b/c let's face it, where else besides T&J could I find heaping hot waffles and fruit topping located just outside of our back to school night at my son's elementary school?! Cmon now, I can't! So all the praises due to T&J for offering that experience. Next time around I will stick to the basics: waffles + fruit + whipped cream, can't go wrong that way!!

I ordered the honey chicken and waffles. Waffles were delicious. Not overly sweet didn't need syrup. Chicken cooked just right. Honey was good-poured over the chicken. Service was from the food truck and fairly quick for the amount of people being served. Will def make a point to visit the storefront read more

My dad can't stop talking about this place. I drove him to an appointment and afterwards we decided to grab some breakfast. I opened up my Yelp app to see if I had bookmarked anything nearby and T&J's Waffles was the first spot that popped up. I didn't know it was walk up location. I was all prepared to sit at a table and have breakfast, but I was already there and I wasn't leaving without food. My dad and I both ordered the classic breakfast platter. It came with two waffles, probably three eggs (we added cheese so that was extra), 4 slices of bacon, and 2 sausage links, and hash brown. The waffles were such a cute shape and they were delicious. I can't confirm this, but I imagine it's their own special batter. They were very generous with the scrambled eggs and I didn't even have to add salt & pepper. I like that there were two meat options. I just wish my bacon wasn't all stuck together to form one piece. Also, the bacon could've been cooked a little more. It was a little fatty and I like a little more crisp. The star of the show was the hash brown. It definitely seemed like it was homemade. This may have been my first time having a homemade hash brown. I'm not sure what they did to it, but here's my guess. It looks shredded potatoes, mixed with green onion, and maybe some cheese, that was packed like a patty & shallow fried. My goodness, I should've ordered some hashbrowns to go so I could eat them for the rest of the week. The platter was so good, I didn't even mind having to eat it in my car. Lol. It was filling & $16 well spent. read more

My girlfriend and I have been coming here for almost a year now, usually once a week. It's a little tricky to find them, you have to check their Facebook page because Friday-Sunday they are open at different places. They are this little trailer with their name, logo, and some waffles on it. The first time I came to the waffle truck, we almost missed it because it's smaller than you think. But, let me tell you, they have the best waffles I've ever had. There's a reason my girlfriend and I come here once a week, it's because when we eat their waffles... It's like a tasty reminder that the weekend is here and you can relax. My girlfriends favorite waffle is the mixed berries with whipped cream and syrup. Mine is the raspberry dulce de leche with whipped cream and syrup... And OH MAN is it good. That's by far my favorite waffle there! They also have savory waffles, I've had the egg and cheese one and a waffle with egg, cheese, spinach, tomato, and butter; that was fantastic as well. But, those are on the pricier side. The waffles we usually get are both $6. You can usually find that there's a decent line for the waffle truck, and that's for good reason! They are the best waffles in MD and you should definitely check it out! I rate this experience 10 waffles from heaven out of 10! read more
These waffles were flawless. I ordered the turkey sausage egg&cheese and the strawberry&banana Nutella. And yes. Both waffles were necessary to jumpstart my day. Best waffles anywhere. Period. Top 3: Chicken and waffles - crispy chicken breast on a Belgian waffle with bacon and spicy mayo Creme brulee waffle - best creme brulee is ever had on top of a Belgian waffle plus strawberries Chocolate waffle - classic waffle with chocolate cooked inside. I think I prefer this one after the chocolate has cooled and solidified a little but it's delicious when it's piping hot too read more

I absolutely love waffles so I was stoked to try this food truck. I decided to get the pumpkin butter and whipped cream liege waffle and...maybe I was too excited to try it because I don't think this met my expectations. I'm not an expert in liege waffles but my waffle seemed to be raw in the middle? It also seemed a little weird that my waffle was ready almost immediately after I ordered which made me believe it was made a little while ago. I was kind of disappointed because I had such high hopes from reading all the positive reviews on Yelp, but maybe I just had bad luck. I unfortunately could not finish my waffle due to the middle being way too gooey for me. On the bright side, they did not skimp on the whipped cream! My waffle was completely buried under a huge blanket of whipped cream. It was like I was eating cream with a side of waffles instead of the other way around, haha. I would like to give them another try but next time I will try to order something different! read more
Had been wanting to try this for awhile as it's near on Saturdays. Communication is poor, staff didn't want to take new orders until old orders came out (1 for 1), however this wasn't communicated until I stood there for several minutes staring someone down like can I order please? Also, I had to wait for several orders to come out (not just one) before even getting to place my order and the wait after that was substantial. I was not impressed with the waffles, as other reviewers mentioned they are dense and not light or fluffy. The breakfast or savory options are clearly not their forte, my breakfast sandwich was mostly sausage (two giant parties), hardly any egg, and Canadian bacon (in error!). My family seemed to be ok with the plain waffles they ordered, I'd be willing to give it another shot with a sweet option. Prices were reasonable. read more

Sometimes it can be a little hit-or-miss when trying out a food truck that offers unique fare such as this, but I was not disappointed with T&J Waffles. The service was as quick as you would expect from a food truck, and reasonably priced for the portions received. I got the beef brisket and waffles, which normally wouldn't be my first choice, but I was extremely satisfied with my decision. The serving of beef was very generous, and quite possibly the best brisket I've ever had. I also got to try a small bite of my girlfriend's chicken bacon ranch, which was also seemed very tasty, unfortunately I didn't get to confirm that since she ate the rest of it very quickly...and she rarely finishes a meal. Overall a great experience! read more

This review is long overdue. Went here a week ago, maybe 2 and loved it. First and foremost, the address is NOT correct because I stopped by twice to the address only to find out they weren't there. My dumbass should have called first buuuut I just wanted me some waffle sammiches. :( So I called one day and the owner told me they were located right in front of the fitness building by the United Artists movie theaters. Finally, after attempting to find them, third times the charm. I parked, went up there and it's a husband, wife and son team I believe and they're some of the most outgoing people around. I've had a very humorous and informative conversation with them. After talking to them for a good 10 minutes, I decided to order a few things. They recommended me getting their Asiago Chicken or something like that so I got that, the breakfast platter sandwich and their most popular Banana and Nutella dessert. I got it to go and drove home, opened it up and the waffles weren't crispy at all. Why? Because they were in containers and I had to drive home so it would make sense that they wouldn't be crispy. But I took my first bite off of the Breakfast Waffle and it was SO GOOD. I'm a big fan of the McGriddle sandwiches at McDonalds though I don't go there often. The Breakfast sandwich here is like the McGriddle except 10 times better. Absolutely love it. I then took a bite of the chicken sandwich and that was delicious too, though I'd probably get something else next time. Banana and Nutella dessert was extraordinary. Extra ordinary. It's the perfect dessert, not too heavy and not too light. Tasty, sweet and hits the spot. If you ever want to know where they're headed, make sure to like them on Facebook or follow them on twitter! read more
*Takes a bite of a golden brown liege waffle, topped with fresh raspberries and blueberries, a sprinkle of powdered sugar and a drizzle of syrup* #waitforit *taste buds explode* .... FOODGASM!!!! My fellow Yelpers... no words in my review can really explain how good these waffles are from T&J Waffles Food Truck. These are not regular waffles people... key words: pearl sugar. Its magical! And if you are not convinced... I will become a Tamartian and tell you that these waffles WILL GIVE YOU YOUR LIFE!! Haha. I think I'm addicted now since I live close now... because I have to convince myself not to go! My kitchen is usually stocked, so while I have food to cook... I have to admit that sometimes I just don't want to cook! I will grab takeout or ready-made food and bring it home... knowing good and well that I went to the grocery store the day before! I know alot of people do it too... it's called #firstworldproblems these days. Thankful! (And some may call this lazy... lol) Anywho... the concept is so simple... sweet, delicious goodness in the AM! (They do have savory options for those with no sweet tooth.) Now I'm an early bird, so I'm out running a few errands earlier than most and I will pick these up right before I head home for a late breakfast. It's like my special treat for getting ish done early! But don't fret... they are open until early afternoon, so you can definitely sleep in and still have plenty of time to grab a waffle for brunch. JUST GO!!! I have been here a few times and tried different sweet variations and my favorite remains the liege waffle with fresh berries and a hit of crack... I mean powdered sugar! Lol. They have a banana and nutella version that I like... sometimes I spread a little peanut butter on the waffle when I get home! Inspiration = Elvis Pancakes! The food truck is usually in front of Kendalls Hardware on Saturdays... just check their Facebook page to find their daily location! I definitely recommend this place, and as I like to say.... "I'LL BE BACK!!!" read more

A food truck that serves Chicken and Waffles, a yes please! T&J Waffles serves sweet and savory waffles that are just downright delicious. I tried the Bacon Chicken Ranch Sandwich. It was a chicken breast grilled to perfection on top of a sheet of cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, ranch, bacon, and waffles. The sandwich is served open face which makes the presentation even better. The flavors were on point, the chicken was moist and tender, and the bacon and sheet of cheese topped the cake. The staff was very friendly and actually helped me make my order decision. I would love for them to come back to my work so I can try more of their food. I would love to taste one of their sweet waffles, they looked really good. They're right, I'm hooked and addicted. read more

Don't drive by and think it can't possibly be good! It's great. This food truck is one of the areas' best kept secret. Definitely a place I will frequent! I'm not sure how they produce magic in such a small food truck, but they do it! They make waffles with these sugar pearls...think of them as special surprises within your surprisingly delicious waffles. As for the chicken and waffles. It doesn't look like what you expect chicken and waffles to look like. When you get it, you may even be disappointed. But, bite into it. You will thank yourself for ordering it. The chicken's flavor plus the waffles plus everything else they put in it. You will not be disappointed. read more
