This has become one of my favorite go-to spots whenever I'm in Laurel. Over the years, the restaurant has made several updates and improvements, which I appreciate. It's clear they're committed to evolving and enhancing the customer experience. The food is consistently delicious and offers great value for the price. I rolled into Mid Atlantic Seafood for a fish and scallop fix, and my taste buds walked out pretty happy. The fish was crispy without turning into a grease sponge, and the inside stayed nice and flaky. The scallops were the MVP--seasoned well, tender, and not overcooked like you sometimes get when folks get a little too enthusiastic with the fryer. Portions were generous enough that I had to make the tough decision between "finish this now" and "pretend I'll save some for later." Sides tasted like actual food and not an afterthought, which is more than I can say for a lot of seafood spots. The vibe is casual, nothing fancy, but it's the kind of place where you come for the plate, not the décor. Loving the vibes and intentions behind this restaurant. It's a takeout-style, order-at-the-counter setup that almost feels like an elevated cafeteria concept. There are alcoholic beverages available--either ready-made or made to order--and plenty of seating. The concept itself is honestly brilliant. That said, the food was a bit mid for me. I ordered the catfish plate with collard greens and black-eyed peas. The fish was fried perfectly, but overall the meal could've used more soul food seasoning and depth of flavor. I ordered oyster rockefeller. I only ordered 2 because I wanted to try it out first. Definitely wish I ordered more! The turkey wings were good. I do think they overload them with peppers and onion. And Today!! 4-3-26 it must've been on Everybody's mind because the Parking lot was Dumb!paaaacked!!... Ordered My Usual Flounder 3-4 nice thick meaty pieces ,Half Brussels Half teriyaki Green beans (No Xrra charge and They always HIT!!) and rice!....Thy Mother got Fried Whiting , Candied Yams(not like Gmas or aunties No Brown Sugar) Maa said it just tasted like sugar, molasses and water it wasn't candied sweet at all!!, Half Brussels/Terriyaki Green beans (they Never miss!!)...Service was Good and met the manager who was just as nice!!...They Put the fish in the wrong boxes!! lol otherwise the Ambience was clean, packed as hell and played Classic Jill Scott the Who is Jill Scott Volume 1 album so I was singing on down!!... overall I'd come back but not get the fish fried hard least not that one!!... I've been to Mid Atlantic plenty of times but never left a review. The parking lot was packed and there were no more spots left when I arrived. Once I got in, there were about 5 or more people in line but it moved pretty quickly and my food didn't take too long before it was ready. I ordered the crab stuffed salmon and bbq chicken. I would recommend both as they were super tasty. The portion sizes for the sides are HUGE so it's worth the money. They have a long list of yummy foods to choose from along with some delicious seafood of course lol I also noticed a large and FULL bar for those happy hours that are needed now more so than ever lol I ordered a tuna sandwich on some kind of sweet roll that was yummy!! They only have "take out" containers, so... yeah. Staff, WONDERFUL. Everyone was accommodating, hospitable, attentive. No complaints at all. Upon entry, you can get in line to place your order or order through the kiosk near the front where you pick up your order. There weren't too many people ahead of us so the line moved quick. I ordered 1lb. Alaskan Snow Crab Legs with a side of Red Skin Potatoes and Corn. The sides don't come with the crab, it's an additional price. Staff were pleasant and welcoming. The wait wasn't too long, but it was cold inside to me. I believe there's a bar area to the right of the entrance. My choice was delicious. I tasted Turkey Wings and they were delicious as well. Mid Atlantic seafood is always consistent and on this particular visit I got a to go breakfast plate and I ate at the bar. I ordered the grits, eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, and toast and it was pretty good. I wasn't a big fan of the applewood smoked bacon. It was a bit too thick and sweet for me but if you like Applewood and maple then go for it, it was just a little bit too sweet for me. The servers are always attentive if you're ordering to go food, I would just recommend being on top of your number and standing near the express checkout. Overall, I will give this a solid five stars for a good on the go breakfast. This place was featured on an IG food critic. The mimosa flight and the shrimp and grits when I tell you I can have that every day I would have that every single day whoever was in the back, put their foot inside of those grits with the shrimp. It was so good. Coming in there was an open table, so you will be able to sit wherever you wanted to sit. We had to place our orders at the either bars or food areas and the servers were able to bring it to our table. What I like most about this restaurant is that you stand in line order your food pay for it get a ticket and then you can sit down until your food is ready. I've been to this restaurant twice and both times have been pleasantly satisfied with the amount of food and the flavor. It has a full bar and lots of seating. An omelette that cost $17 should include potatoes and not have two pieces of dried up bread as a replacement and the omelette is salty. I love this place. If I lived closer, I would go more often. The drinks are good. My favorite is the stuffed shrimp, with Brussels sprouts and the green beans. I just recently tried the cheesy grits with the shrimp. That is my new favorite dish. Overall, all the food is delicious. The desserts are good as well. I highly recommend. read more

This place was introduced to me through my brother via TikTok, and to our surprise - this spot included a bar! (The videos he sent me didn't include the bar area) But anyway - this place is great! They do have bar/drink specials throughout the week, including Tequila Tuesday, Whisky Wednesday, etc. which we did indulge in. (Pictured are the 2 beers, screwdriver and tequila sunrise we both ordered - average price being about $8/drink, I believe about $5/beer during happy hour) When it came to the food, the server did assist me with my choices, as it was my first time here. At first, I planned to get the string beans as I saw about 3 other customers eating it around the restaurant - but the server suggested mixed vegetables. And BAYBE, it really did steal the show. 5/5 on the veggies. The "sauce" sitting around the vegetables reminded me of the beef and broccoli mix you can get from carry out - but obviously, without the beef lol. But seriously - it was so so good. The mac&chz, was decent. A little salt and pepper, and you're good to go. I just like the string beans, saw a lot of surrounding customers that ordered the mac&chz, so I think that's a global win for Mid Atlantic. Seafood too, great. The fried fish was whiting and watch out - it did still include the bones. Hot sauce, tatar, mumbo, allll of the sauces are available as sides. As well as HUGEEEE variety of juices, desserts and sides! There is no way that you can thoroughly say you "enjoy" this place if you've only been there once. Tuesday 1/28/25 I've seen this spot countless times on my famous Dave's visits, but never made it a point to try until I saw it on Instagram. I ordered most of my items online and a few in person via the self-order kiosk system. The restaurant's ambiance was cool and neat, with one side for food and one side for a sports bar type of atmosphere. For my order I got: 2x bbq ribs & 3x bbq chicken wing plate with Mac n cheese, candied yams, & cornbread $22, 2 soft shell crab plate with candied apples, collard greens, a dinner roll $23, a large build your own smoothie with strawberry, banana, pineapple, & mango $10, and a slice of the four high carrot cake $7. - The ribs were decent, but the bbq sauce had a different taste to it that more so resembled mumbo sauce or a mix of the two. - Wings were okay, but they were smaller than expected, and I wish I had gotten them fried. - Mac and cheese was solid. - The Candied yams were sweet, and they would've been better if they had been cooked down more for a softer texture, but overall, it's still solid. - Cornbread was a pleasant surprise: it was moist & soft, and it would've been even better if it were a bigger piece. - This was my first time having short shell crabs, and honestly, they were a lot smaller than I expected from the photos I had seen, but they were alright. Also, the mumbo sauce and tartar sauce help elevate the crab experience. - The candied apples were decent and nostalgic for me. - The collard greens were alright but I expected a lot better from all the high praise I saw about it from the reviews. - The dinner roll was fine and standard. - The smoothie was my favorite item, and it honestly made my day. I had forgotten the wonders a great smoothie could do for me and my tastebuds. - The carrot cake was decent, and my mom liked it a lot. I started frequenting the location in Laurel in 2022 and did so about twice a month. The portions were generous and the food was really, really good. Over the past year or so either the kitchen staff ch or management has changed, but the food is not the same. It's not really good anymore. So I'm not going there a lot because it doesn't seem like a good bang for my buck. I've also spoken to a friend who frequents another location and she reports having a similar experience. I almost always get the Shrimp Po Boy here, with the Sweet Potato Cheesecake. Sometimes they forget to add the potato chips with the po boy, but my order was made perfectly this time. The shrimp was crispy. I noticed that the jumbo shrimp is getting smaller with more lettuce filling underneath. This is why I removed a star. The taste is delicious though. There is often a line, which is an indication of people liking the food. They call your receipt number when your food is ready for pickup at the counter. The place is clean and orderly. During prime dining hours, parking can get crowded. There is always a police car parked near the entrance. There are tables if you choose to dine in. There is also a bar. While options span across several TV monitors, staff are incredibly knowledgeable and ready to provide recommendations as walk-up ordering with so many options can be overwhelming. Food is served in to-go containers even if you dine in. Mains, starters, smoothies, and desserts are available in abundance. Fried options are made to order, so be ready to wait. Bottled juices and waters, plus beer and cocktails at the bar, are served. This is a nice option while in the area! Parking could be limited during peak hours. read more

Wow. What an amazing experience. The food is fresh. The service is absolutely friendly and fast. I didn't even take any pictures because I couldn't wait to dig into the food. The restaurant is on the busy Route 1. The sign is huge, but you can easily miss the entrance to turn in. There is parking, but spots can be limited if it's during the busy rush time. There is plenty of seating inside. The music can be loud, so you'll have to find a table that's not directly under a speaker. Get in line at the counter and peruse the display while you're waiting for your turn. I've had the catfish fried platter with candied yams and collard greens, as well as the blackened catfish and grits. The fried version is seasoned so well that I wasn't craving hot sauce or anything else. Their sides were also very tasty. The blackened catfish was delicious paired with their cheesy grits. My mouth is drooling thinking about good it tasted. Prices are just a tad higher than if you went to another fish and wings joint, but the portions here are enormous and the quality is great. We were visiting from out of town and went here for dinner. The place was clean and smacked of freshness and quality - both in appearance and service. The place was hopping with tons of patrons but no one was having to wait. The service was awesome and the portions of food was "off the hook." No pun intended for a seafood company. We couldn't believe just how awesome this place truly is and this was only made more awesome by the fantastic job of their manager on duty named Salvador, from - your guessed it - El Salvador. Seriously, you gotta check this place out. AND, they can make fresh smoothies and juices as well. The prices for everything was also competitive especially by today's standard and no one, I mean no one gives you as much food as these guys do. Enjoy!
