Hello everyone just wanted to take a moment to review the Negril location in Laurel. Nothing like being greeted with a warm welcome. Kept it simple with the fish sandwich, Pattie and coco bread which is consistently delicious. The fish sandwich was fried properly; however, it could use a side of jerk sauce for dipping. I do appreciate the sorrel is "handmade" and has the right amount of ginger for spice. This location is catered more toward efficient carry-out than the dine in experience which isn't a bad thing considering they likely fulfill more to go orders. Bar stood seating is available on the perimeter of the restaurant to eat. It would be better if the garbage can/waste bin was moved opposite of the eating area. The unisex restroom was clean but ran out of hand soap. Nonetheless this was not a bad experience and I look forward to dining in again in the future. Overall 3.3 of 5 for the dine in experience.

Had a pick up order, drove home 30mins to discover I was missing plaintains and beef Pattie! Smfh! gtfoh!

    My yummy beef patty sandwich

Negril is my go-to Jamaican/Island food spot whenever I'm visiting my family. It's in the Laurel Shopping Center which is nearby. Although there's a LA Fitness gym and Marshalls a few doors away, you'll be able to find parking. The parking fairy is on your side. ;-D When I'm on the go, my favorite grab-n-gos are the slice of moist rum/carrot cake, homemade sorrel drink with the right amount of sweetness, and/or hot cripsy beef patty w/ soft warm coco bread in a sandwich (learned this method from my NY cousins). Always make me feel IRIE! One of these days, I'll have time to dine in for the main dishes. Based on my overall experience, the service is usually quick and the staff very welcoming. I highly recommend for you to try Negril if you're into or drawn to Caribbean comfort food. Enjoy!!

Hey friends! Some chain restaurants tend to be hit or miss, but Negril is always consistent! And as a picky eater, I appreciate consistency lol. I order a shrimp patty, coco bread, and a curry shrimp entree. The shrimp patty was crispy and flavorful. Coco bread was warm and buttery. O-M-G, the star of show was the curry shrimp. I could taste the freshness of the shrimp and the curry sauce was perfect. Rice was perfectly cooked. Only critique is that the cabbage was a little too soft. Service was friendly, I was greeted when I walked in. It took about 20 mins for the curry shrimp entree, so I recommend calling ahead or ordering online. They have a convenient online/phone order pickup station with your first name displayed. Inside is small with a few tables to dine in at. I recommend Negril if you're in Laurel!

I always enjoy the food at Negril. In my opinion it's one of the better Caribbean food chains. Food is always good. I usually go with the curry chicken, but switched it up this time. The location in laurel has never disappointed from a service standpoint. Always efficient and friendly. On this visit, the only issue was that I ordered the jerk chicken wing meal, but got the jerk chicken meal. Not a huge deal, but was looking forward to trying the wings.

I ordered from here numerous of times the food is always good .. the spicy jerk sauce on the side is always flavorful as well it has a nice bite to it

The bland sauce didn't help - I don't think they had scotch bonnet simmering in the stew at all - it appeared seasoned but nah just specks on the surface. I'm quite mad as this was dinner and for almost 30$ take-out is egregious work. Also, why are Caribbean spots stingy on the plantains - which aren't expensive - they only gave me 2 pieces. FTR...it would've been more rice & peas but I asked for less (a carb thing).

Everything on that plate hit. No complaints about the food whatsoever. The space itself is small, clean, and minimally decorated. Nothing fancy, but very well-kept, and I appreciate that. Service was good. The owner personally took care of me and accommodated my request to swap out the rice for extra cabbage with no issue. I always appreciate when owners are hands-on and attentive. Now for the hiccup: the credit card machine wasn't working, so I had to pay via Cash App. Not ideal, but okay. What almost took me out was the attempt to add a service charge. I definitely spoke up because that extra $1? Yeah... it was about the principle. Sheesh. Overall, the positives outweighed the minor inconvenience. The food alone would have me coming back. Usually with brunch we would do the bottomless mimosas and all but because I was driving I decided not to participate in that. And usually I would get chicken and waffles but I was in the mood for a burger. So I thought because their name is "Mad Cow" the burger would be the bomb...but nope it was not good at all. So I prefer a beef burger cooked medium with blue cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onions. When I burger got tot the table it was dry as a board. No blue cheese that I paid extra for and the burger was not cooked correctly it was cooked well done. Smdh. So the waiter brought me my blue cheese apologized about it and also gave me a mayo bottle. Today, I gave them another shot because Uber Eats was offering a buy one, get one free deal on the jerk chicken meal. I chose rice & peas with plantain for my sides. The chicken was cooked on the grill--which I love--because it really brings out the flavor in jerk chicken. I also requested my jerk sauce on the side since I prefer a dry rub style over a saucy one. The only drawback was the small bone pieces in the chicken and rice. That's something to be cautious about, especially if a child is eating the meal. The plantains were also inconsistent--some pieces were hard, while others were mushy. On the bright side, the coco bread was perfect and the Jamaican rum cake was phenomenal. Whoever baked that cake clearly took their time soaking it in rum. It reminded me of the way my grandmother used to make it--absolutely delicious. I would definitely order the rum cake again.

At heart, I'm a man that truly enjoy most Caribbean dishes ( oxtails, goat, curry/jerk chicken,…read moreroti, etc ) So, I set out on a quest to give a new Caribbean cuisine restaurant a shot at winning me over. That's when I bumped into Caribbean Dish... The name got me, yes it's basic, but the title was exactly what I was looking for. The restaurant is in a small unassuming parking lot... if you don't know it's there, you probably will miss it ( so glad I didn't !! ) The minute I walked in, I felt authentic family vibes ( something I look for when choosing my Caribbean locations ) The service was very friendly, and they cleared everything up when I wasn't sure if my particular craving could be fulfilled ( the combo I desired wasn't on their daily menu ) My sights were set on the oxtail and curry goat combo ( of course with rice & peas and veggies ! ) And when I say the goat was tender, and seasoned to perfection... while the oxtails had that juicy meatiness that will for sure keep me coming back. The rice & peas were cooked just right ( texture was on point ) and the veggies still had that freshness that brought everything else together. I love my Caribbean dishes saucy and not dry ( they get two thumbs up in that department ! ) Family vibes, cheerful greeting, and amazing food....
