I finally tried the viral Suya Wrap at Prime Grill! This was a pickup order. The Suya Wrap: 8/10. The suya was INCREDIBLY well-seasoned and moist! If you are a meat lover, this will probably be a 10/10 for you. I would argue that the wrap actually has too much meat and would taste more balanced with a little less. In the future, I will try the combo wrap, as I thought rice would also help balance the wrap! The wrap sauce tastes like a spicy ranch and pairs well with the meat. The fries are nothing to write home about. (Note: It is not clear on DoorDash, but the wrap comes with fries and the container of sauce.) Ambiance & Service: The shop is casual and small. The staff is very friendly. The woman who gave me my order came out from the back and greeted me with a big hello and made small talk with some of the other patrons waiting for their orders. Let me be 100% honest and raw. SERVICE: sucks! They are VERY SLOW, molasses, turtle moves...they gave me the wrong food, owner was nonchalant and mean looking. AMBIANCE: dismal at best. The place is in an abandoned shopping center strip. It's very small inside the restaurant. FOOD: so damn GOOD!!! This is my third time there and everything I have had, tasted so good. Get the suya wrap 10/10, wings and fries 10/10, Egusi Soup and pounded yam 10/10. I guess what they say is true. "The worse the service and decor, the better the food." The Suya wrap is fire. The beef is tender and super smoky with just the right amount of spice. It has that real charcoal-grilled flavor that stands out immediately. The sauce that comes with it is slightly sweet and balances the spice perfectly. Everything together in the wrap with the onions, tomato, and cabbage just works. Prime Grill serves a mix of African and Caribbean dishes, and the menu has a lot of options that look great. Things like jollof rice with goat meat, egusi soup with fufu, cassava leaf soup, grilled tilapia, pompano fish with plantains, and more. I can't speak on authenticity or claim to know how these dishes are supposed to taste traditionally. I just judge food by whether it tastes good and whether it feels like quality ingredients are being used. From what I've had so far, the food checks those boxes. You can usually tell when a place takes pride in what they're cooking, and this feels like one of those spots. Next time I come back I definitely want to try the spicy asun goat meat and the jollof rice. Honestly, a lot of the menu looks good so I'll probably be working my way through it over time. The location is in an older shopping center that honestly looks like it has seen better days. There used to be a liquor store here, and for a while the plaza felt like it was on its way out. Then Prime Grill showed up and brought some life back to the area. Parking is easy since there isn't much else around, which is always a plus. If you're in Laurel and want to try something different from the usual takeout spots, this place is definitely worth checking out. Very juicy, tasteful and a mouthful to eat- 9/10 Fries- Solid it was not over or under cooked and the sauce(taste like yum yum sauce) was good if you prefer a tangy sweet-7 /10 Service: We walked in and the place was packed and it seemed like we would be waiting an hour like Tik Tok said but it was a smooth 25 minutes, not too bad and it seemed everybody was there for the same thing. You ordered from a kiosk and everybody was in the back and only really came out to announce completed orders and give food out. - 6/10 Ambiance: It has open seats like a restaurant but everything was kind of close. I checked out Prime Grill after seeing it blow up on TikTok. I'm from Florida, but Maryland really does hide gems in the most random spots. This one was tucked away in what looked like an empty shopping plaza. When I pulled up, there was already a line outside, and funny enough, everyone said they found it through TikTok too. Inside, the setup was simple two checkout stations, no one really coming out to chat, just the crew in the back calling out numbers. Ordering was quick, pickup was just as smooth. I didn't want my food to get cold, but let me tell you, that Suya wrap was a solid 10/10. I almost risked my life trying to eat it while driving. Honestly, it's best enjoyed right there in the parking lot or inside. I went with the non-spicy option and it was perfect. The price is on the higher side, but the amount of steak you get easily beats Chipotle's portions. TikTok definitely didn't steer me wrong on this one. Came here only for the suya wrap! The actual wrap is like a 4/5 but just know it tasted so much better after I reheated it in the air fryer. This wrap has SO much meat like they definitely are not stingy with that but it is also twenty dollars so that makes sense. I would've loved more veggie and tomato to give more of a wrap-esque and less burrito. The fries were stale and not fresh. I tried a fry while driving, and man, was it good! It was crispy, and they added suya seasoning for a nice flavor. Those fries didn't make it home. The wrap itself has to be one of the best sandwiches I've eaten since moving to Maryland. The pita is toasted, and the beef suya might be the best I've ever had. The jollof rice was the best thing I had. It was seasoned very well. The steak unfortunately was extremely overcooked. I've resorted to TikTok suggestions and found this place. The service was very good the location is in a small plaza but the food makes up for all of it. Hands down the worst jollof i've ever had in my life. off the bat, the jollof smelled of spaghetti (????) and tastes of it too. The suya which has a grill section outside would have been good but it was fried i assume after it was grilled to reheat it. I will say their pepper sauce was good and flavorful. The person taking phone orders was highly unprofessional for a second. I thought I had dialed the wrong number based on the rudeness.
