Came here for red snapper and some steamed shrimp. The workers were soo nice and helpful. The place was empty but they were taking a lot of phone orders. The food didn't take long to make and tasted phenomenally. I got a whole fried snapper. The music wasn't very loud but you could tell it was good energy from the staff. read more

Ordered delivery from Cameron's Seafood in Laurel, MD last night; haven't been in over 10 years. I ordered the fried fisherman's platter - fish, scallops, crabcake, shrimp, coleslaw & fries. Scallops is what I really wanted & disappointed is an understatement! Portions were good for everything - scallops were very tiny, not sure if it was because they were extremely overcooked to the point I didn't eat them after the first one. The coleslaw had a lot of liquid running out of it & had a taste that was not great, it was also warm. The fish was slightly overcooked, but seasoned well (everything was seasoned well). The best part of it all was the crabcake. I will not be making a return visit. I went to Cameron's looking for whiting. I bought 3 lbs of whiting at 9.99 a lb. The service was good and the whiting was delicious. I peaked in the back of the kitchen and it was spotless, very clean seafood establishment. read more

Had a hankering for some seafood while visiting Maryland. I googled places near me and Cameron came up. I ordered the crab bisque and waited. The inside of the store was more of a fresh seafood retailer with a carry-out of prepared options. There are no tables for dine-in. While waiting I was able to see the fresh offerings and the prices were not too bad. The gentleman who took my order was pleasant, and got excited when I saw him top my bisque with Jumbo lump crab meat!! I was not disappointed. It was Delicious!! The food is disappointing. I ordered the "jumbo" shrimp platter and wish I didn't. The shrimp is not jumbo at all. They have taken small size shrimp, butterflied it, and dip it in so much batter it looks bigger than what it is. The fried shrimp looks like a burnt platypus tail. It looks nothing like fried shrimp. The fried haddock was delicious, as were the mixed vegetables ,service was prompt and food was out on record time.

We had a taste for some crabs but ended up settling for the crab cake platter, the fried shrimp platter and some clam strips. The food was ready in about 15-20 minutes and when my husband got home from picking up the order it was still pretty warm. The platters we good! Pretty much everything was cooked perfectly except the clam strips were a little chewy for my taste. Overall this is a good and convenient seafood spot and we would order from them again. read more

I placed my order over the phone, it was a little difficult due to the clarity or the phone due static, so it took about 4 mins to place the order for an ultimate seafood platter. The platter took only 10 mins to be prepared which was great, the amount of food you receive, and the amount you pay is very hefty. My crab cake was unfortunately smushed from the container and was bland, but with a sprinkle of old bay it came to life, what stood out to me the most was the lack of shells in the crab cake, not one!! The Whiting was a little greasy and little seasoning, with a Texas Pete it was enjoyable. The broiled shrimp were huge, seasoned well but slighty tough. WTF? I wanted some crab cakes and stuffed shrimp and didn't want to wait at Mid Atlantic. So I decided to go here. I knew better. Damn it I knew much better. Now this place isn't the best seafood place, but you could buy something and cook it at home and salvage a meal. I was feeling lazy and asked them to cook it. They overcooked all the damn food. Maybe you have to have a regular take you here to get an amazing meal, but that's what I did and that's what I had. The crab cake was phenomenal and definitely the BEST crab cake I have ever had. It was filled with jumbo lump crab meat and very little filler. The vegetables we also surprisingly good for frozen veggies and the fries were hot and crispy. I purchased 3 dozen crabs 4/12/24 and these are the worst, nastiest crabs I've ever had. I well never go back, they were horrible. Last time we got Maryland crabs, we weren't impressed. This time around was a whole different experience. We ordered snow crab legs, spiced shrimp, fried oysters, hush puppies & corn for an at home quarantine birthday feast. Everything was still nice and hot when it got home - I think partially because even though we placed the order a day ahead of time due to the quantity, they asked us to call before picking up to ensure it was cooked fresh. The crab legs were great. The oysters didn't travel super well but the flavor and size of them were perfect, we still enjoyed even if they weren't super crispy anymore. We were so thankful that they were still working during these uncertain times and made a special occasion even better with a great menu. In addition to just being open, the employees we interacted with could not have been friendlier or more pleasant. I am a crab lover and I have certain spots that I go to for crabs. I decided to go here because my husbands friend said that the crabs were good. So we went. We go there and nobody was there such as customers. I did think to myself that this might not be good. But I continued away. The lady at the front was nice. I got 3 dozen small female crabs. When we got home I opened the bag and they were hot but looked funny. I figured maybe they looked funny because they were hot or something, I don't know. We ate them and my stomach began to hurt. So I said imma hit up Cameron's and glad I did for one for same amount of money $20 got a blue fish platter, side order oyster appetizer. Bluefish special 4 HUGE pieces boneless bluefish fried ( that I'm not supposed to be eating cause it's fried) steamed veggies and fried okra ( once again not supposed to be eating that) I hope steam veggies balance it out. And I got a flavored fruit water. All I'm saying in my meal was delicious straight up. Place was clean no fishy smell and lady at counter nice I'm nibbling on meal now cause it's a cheat day but glad I used my cheat day here tonight Now yeah fish could use a bit more salt but I'd rather add a little salt than have it be too salty... oysters plenty of seasoning. I went there today and ordered seafood trout. The lady gave me whiting instead. The food was terrible. My husband said why are we being punished. The food tasted like it was refried in old oil. This place is 5mins up the street from my home. The first time I bought food there it really delivered. I bought the ultimate seafood platter and I didn't like the scallops, so they were able to switch it for spicy shrimp. That's make me happy with my order. I went to Cameron's last night because the the food smelled so good from the sidewalk. Disappointing my Whiting sandwich was disgusting, chewy, tasted old! The fries were nasty tasted old and oily! I'm going to have to leave Cameron's alone. I lived in MD years ago and used to frequent this location then. They used to be reliable then. I moved back recently and have visited this place a few times. Sadly, the quality has declined and so has the level of customer service. The steamed crabs have been covered in all that yucky cooking by-product. It looks like they don't rinse them after steaming. This wouldn't have been a deal breaker if there weren't other issues. However, there are. The lady who takes orders is less than pleasant no matter how nice I am to her. Also, my experience with their shrimp took the cake. I ordered spiced shrimp. I watched as the woman took my order and placed it in the microwave. I told her I didn't want microwaved shrimp because it tends to make it rubbery. I tasted the shrimp, and as expected, it was tough. She said she would fix it and steam a fresh batch for me. She disappeared to the back for less than 20 seconds and returned with "fresh shrimp." However, it was just the same batch shuffled around. I found the shrimp I'd tested at the bottom of the container. That was the last straw for me. read more
