I got to say, my recent experiences are leagues above what they used to be. So there have been a few changes since the last time I came. For one, the main dining area of the restaurant is closed off by some bench, and there is this big back area with a giant bar and a bunch of high and low tables. There is no sign that specifically says to go back there, but honestly there is nowhere else to go. But if you just follow the corridor you will see a door that may or may not be open. Go through it and you are where you are supposed to be. Anyways, I think the spot still has regulars, but I have seen a lot more people closer to my age and I don't feel so out of place. Also the staff are really friendly. The happy hour specials are great and overall the food is reasonably priced outside of that too. And I mentioned that I couldn't have more than one drink because of how strong they are?! read more

This is a cool spot located in Lanham in the cut. I stopped by for happy hour to grab some wings and a drink. I ordered honey old bay wings and they tasted so fresh and were cooked to perfection. They have $8 wings from 4-7. I ordered a margarita which was made by Jessica, she did her thing--yum. I promise she made that drink in less than a minute. The bar was close to full but people were moving along and not holding chairs for hours. The vibe was nice, seemed to be a mixed crowd. I've seen reviewers say that the service was slow here, however I didn't experience the same service. My chicken arrived about 10 minutes after k placed my order and as I said above, my drink was made in a minute or less. I've gone to this place many times--for lunch, for dinner, and on different days of the week--and it's consistently a great spot. In fact, everyone I've recommended it to has become a fan. If you're looking for an inexpensive meal with a simple menu, this is it. I'd especially recommend the seafood soups; they run about $9 a portion, but they're absolutely worth it. The bicentennial soup is a great mix, and they also have a nice crab soup. The drinks are generously poured, and I've found the patrons to be friendly, which adds to the casual vibe. Now for a few a drawbacks. The popularity is a curse because parking is very limited. The restaurant is tucked into a tiny shopping center that barely lives up to the name, with just a couple of other carry-outs and a church. If you're not paying attention, you'll drive right past it. My advice is to skip the hassle and park over in the Giant lot and take the short walk over. Don't come here for the atmosphere; the surroundings aren't much to look at. I am a seafood lover so I'm always craving shrimp and crab legs. Well, I went to another place nearby and their prices were too high. So, a random guy outside that place recommended Lamberts. My thoughts: PROS: reasonably priced, a lot of menu options, local business that has a lot of different activities during the week. I heard it is "The Black Cheers". Apparently everyone knows your name... CONS: Service was super slow, and it wasn't busy. The actual restaurant looks outdated and rundown. Right outside the place was a lot of trash on the ground, just dirty and filthy. The seafood was just OKAY...not spectacular. Lamberts is an oldie but a goodie. It's been quite some time since I have been here. We opted to eat in the bar area which is located in the back. There's definitely a "Cheers" vibe. You can tell there are regulars that the staff is used to catering to. I ordered a platter with a crab cake, fish, shrimp, and sides. The coleslaw was just okay and my baked potato could have been cooked longer. The fried crab cake was too greasy for me however it was loaded with crab meat without filler. I came for happy hour, and even on a Thursday afternoon, parking was tight but eventually found a spot. I saw some folks parking on the street and walking in. Seems like this place has been around for awhile. You can tell the regulars. I wasn't hungry so I didn't get any food. I had a drink and trust me, that was all that was needed. They pour heavy! My first impression of this place when entering it is ambiance and cleanliness. The bar area was live on a Friday and the dining room mellow enough to have a conversation. This is a small restaurant similar to a mom's and pops spot. The dining room area we sat at had two tables that were in eyesight not cleared for a while, and I mean almost 10 minutes after sitting. Although we did not sit there it was across from our dining table. Also, it took a while for a waiter to come and we had to flag down the hostess to request someone take our order. The food was not that good for folks to claim they specialize in seafood. I had a chef salad as a side, only thing tasty, and two crab cakes along with seafood salad (+$2, highly not recommended). I also was informed that the French fries, my first side pic after asking about the cut, is not recommended. Like who doesn't recommend potatoes, it must not be tasty as well. Great experience at Lamberts after a really long hiatus. Lamberts is a most certainly a staple in the Lanham/Glen Dale area...I remember as a kid I could never go to the back area but man I'm grown now and it's exactly what I pictured lol. Came for happy hour and I will say they did not disappoint. I opted for the $4 burger and although not five guys...it was most certainly better than expected. This was my first time at this establishment. I was a bit concerned within the first couple of minutes due to some service elements and the timeframe in which it took us to be greeted. The ambiance wasn't the greatest. The place was recommended to my friend & I due to the reviews of having great food. Sadly, we were not able to experience any food from the menu. By the time we were greeted with service (and given 1 menu to share) we just ordered drinks to decompress and think about food. During what I would estimate about a 45 minute visit, no one came back to check-in, follow-up or take food ordering. In fact, during this time, the Chef came to make an announcement about it being last call in the kitchen. We asked for the check and decided not to stay. Between requesting the check and finally paying, that too was another additional 12-15 minutes added to the wait time. Concluding our visit the bartender came to say goodbye but this was the second time during our full visit that we saw her. Just got home from dinner at Lamberts. This is a true neighborhood bar. If you're looking for ambiance to hang with your friends and have some drinks, it's a good choice. No frills, incredibly slow service, but they have TVs and a good buzz. There were very few prices on the menu with most things saying "$MP" (market price). The dining room is not open, so only the bar or carry out. We arrived around 5pm on a Saturday evening and seated ourselves. Getting one of the 2 bartenders attention was tough, but we ordered nachos, mac n cheese bites, hush puppies and their bipartisan soup for $9 (half cream of crab, half maryland crab). Generally speaking, it all falls under bar food and everything was good enough to have another bite. A glass of red 19 crimes wine was $8, a pint of bud light was $3.75, and a marg was $9.50. Would I go back? Sure but no need to sprint back. There is plenty of parking around the building if not right in front. read more

Went here because I was looking for a bar to watch football. The bartenders were very friendly and also good looking. Lol. They made sure I had top notch service. Plenty of TV screens and seating at the bar. However the food wasn't all that good. Now all I got was wings and potato skins, but they lacked flavor and the wings were not fried hard enough, but it's specialty is seafood, so I won't be too hard on them. I sat at the bar for ten minutes without even being offered a glass of water when a good 3-4 bartender/waitresses walked passed me, not even cleaning the empty glasses that sat in front of me. They were all too busy being laser focused processing lottery numbers from their senior ole faithful regulars. I love Lamberts. I first learned about Lamberts through my boyfriend, who has been a regular here for years. Lamberts is in a shopping center, sort of hidden, so in my mind I was thinking that not too many people knew about it -- but boy was I wrong. Each and every time I have gone, Lamberts has been PACKED. It is usually an older clientele (40's-60's range), but you do have some younger folks (20's -30's) sprinkled in the mix. They have a good happy hour and daily specials each night. They also have all you can eat crabs -- which I've had once and they were pretty good. My favorite thing to order from Lamberts is the wings, breaded w/ just hot sauce. Trust me -- that is a winning order. Their breaded wings taste FRESH and SEASONED. Their XL Crabs and Large crabs are actually really good too -- they are plump and also very fresh. Also, the drinks at Lamberts are STRONG. The bartenders tend to free-pour, so there is easily 2 shots, if not more, each drink. The shots are also easily 3 shots in one. read more

So this place is definitely a hole in the wall, so don't come for ambience lol They do have a cool happy hour where the bartenders/servers serve up some pretty strong drinks! I had a rum punch that was a 1-2 punch!!! On to the food....I ordered the crab cake dinner. It was pretty decent (not the best I've had, but not bad), about average. The good news was that it easy mostly lump crabmeat with little filler. The broccoli was wack lol - what did I expect - and the hush puppies were okay too. Understand, this place is in need of updates. It is not the best in looks. Looks really old school. Don't say I didn't warn you. Casual wear will do for this place. They have really Good specials!!! The drinks are strong and the food is good! I loved the waitress. She was really nice and helpful. If you do not really drink, I wouldn't order from here if I were you. My strawberry margarita was super strong. I felt the first sip! If you are a drinker, then this is the place for you. Enjoy every sip. Onward and forward... FOOD! I ordered the catfish nuggets with fries, crab balls, chicken cheesesteak with onion rings and lots of water. All of our food came out piping hot! That is a plus for me. Everything was tasty! After a disappointing encounter for HH at another establishment, myself and one of my best good girlfriends found our way here. Located in an inconspicuous location. Can't say it was easy to spot and had I not followed her I may not have found it. The dining area was pretty small, bar (in a separate area) was fair in size too. Gotcha number one, we just missed the HH. The website says it ends at 7p, nah it ended at 6p. No worries though, the $1.50 cheeseburgers and $.55 wangs will cause me to return. Gotcha number two, I was not educated about the specials. Lawd and they have some specials. On that night it was 3/4 lb shrimp for $7.99... Gotcha number three, All.You.Can.Eat.Crabs. This is NOT advertised and how in the Hamm sammich did I miss it? Grrrr... We both ordered off of the menu, I had bacon wrapped scallops, veggies and french fries, and by best good friend had a seafood platter. The amount of food that I received was fair, but the scallops were crazy small, and a wee bit too salty because of the bacon. My friend said that her food was just okay as well.
