This place is certainly an experience. Went on Black Friday to grab a drink and listen to ratchet music in a relative safe environment. The place reminds me of a juke joint in a rural town. Nothing bad, but all I could think of is this place could have been a second location in Sinners. Located on the side of 301 surrounded by tractor repair shops, auto repair places, and an oddly placed church. We walked in and the music was pumping and almost every table was full. No cover charge, no security screening, no ID check. The smell of fried wings, liquor, and too much perfume/cologne permeated the place. What was absent was the smell of any smoke, which is a huge plus. The place is homey and oddly cozy. The drinks seemed to be poured appropriately. The cups are plastic but the prices were low even for top-shelf cognac so it was a win. My friends had the wings and they loved them. Almost every high top and low table seemed to be enjoying the wings too. We didn't play pool but it seemed to be several pool tables that were in heavy use. The music was 90s and 2000s Hip Hop, Go-Go, and R&B. Solid play list played from a system with no DJ. A few people danced, but most folks were just talking, chilling, and vibing out. After another 10 minutes, a younger staff member, who was finishing her shift, left, and the older staff member completely ignored me. She walked away from the bar to chat with a table of gentlemen. Before she did, I politely said, "Excuse me, miss," understanding that it was busy. She held up her pointer finger, signaling me to wait a minute, but instead of assisting me afterward, she returned to the bar and continued doing other tasks. I had high expectations based on the reviews, but the service was disappointing. It seems like things aren't as good as they used to be, which is unfortunate. I came in for the chicken and the people at the bar are regulars and was recommending I get just that. Quiet bar probably a lil more busy after work. So I've ordered from this place plenty of times because it's open later and it's a food desert in PG. I came in person after a bday party and let me just say I had to order food and water through other customers who were "regulars" because not one employee that works behind the bar will acknowledge you! I mean do they want to make money? Bartenders should acknowledge and they will be given grace when busy and tipped well. I used to like this place, however lately the level of service and climate has declined considerably. The last straw was when I came in during shift change, which I completely understand that it could be hectic. I waited 10 min with nobody saying anything to me with exception of the owner saying it was "shift change". Another 5 minutes bartender asks if I had been helped, I said "no not yet" and she just walked away, which prompted me to leave and never look back. I have never had service this bad in 35 years of trying to support local businesses and I had worked in the service industry for 20 of those years. I will never go back. read more

The Corner Bar formerly known as "Eagles Wolf Lodge" I believe is a hidden Gem. They have karaoke night, jazz night and some other cool activities! Drinks are great and food is even better. My favorite is their old by wings!!!! Let me tell you... it tastes super fresh like they keep chickens out back and prepare them at a moments notice. You will be set after that! I heard about this place from a friend who had her birthday get together here! We had a blast ordering wings, fries, and mozzarella sticks. We played music from the machine in the corner. Also spent some time playing darts. The waitresses were friendly and patient with us. It had to be about 10 of us. They also have a pool table in the back part. This is a pretty great place to kick back and chill. Also, it was a tad difficult getting here so I always tell everyone to go to the Wawa and make a u turn. Turn off at the corner parking lot. This is one of the best kept secrets in Prince George's County. I just started going a few weeks ago. I was riding my motorcycle and decided to stop in this place I had been passing by for years. FIRST: This is not a place that caters to the young crowd and that seems to be intentional. A lot (not all) of the patrons are WELL over 30. Many appear to be well into middle age. That's not a bad thing. The crowd is mature and very friendly and mostly regulars. Everyone speaks and maintains a courteous attitude. This is a no frills lounge. If you're looking for something pretty, this is not for you. If you want a friendly crowd, this is the place to go, no matter what age you are. SECOND: Paul, the owner, is a great guy and does an excellent job of making sure that his customers are taken care of. The building is a little worse for the wear but that only adds to the charm of the "Down home" atmosphere. My first time walking in, just a few weeks ago, I immediately knew that I would become one of the regulars. I haven't tried the whole menu but the wings and the shrimp are outstanding, no matter how you have them prepared. Only one drawback: Staffing is at a minimum, so sometimes the wait for a drink or food can be a little extended. LAST: They have something going on every night. We were looking for some place close to home one Friday night & went to Yelp for help. They recommended this bar & it was right down the street so we decided to check it out. It was karaoke night, although we didnt participate it was still fun! The food was good, typical bar food. The staff was friendly. The drinks were STRONG!!!!!! Omg... I asked for a Tito's & pineapple juice & they gave me a 16oz of liquor and a dash of pineapple juice. The shots were triple the size of a normal shot. And the best part is the drinks were cheap. I've lived within a mile or two of Eaglewolf for ten or fifteen years and I've only just recently discovered its greatness. Imagine my surprise when my friend took me to the epitome of a dive bar just minutes from my home. What it lacks in decor it makes up for ten fold in environment. It's the perfect neighborhood bar -- the patrons said hello to me and my group as soon as we walked in the door. As other guests walked in, they gave the same friendly greeting -- this made us feel right at home even after just a short while. The happy hour drinks are cheap and strongly made (a dangerously good combo). I stick to the standard drinks like a rum n coke or a screwdriver -- they don't seem to have a large selection of liquors which is okay by me for a small bar like this. They have Redd's Ciders on tap which is a nice plus for me since I'm not a fan of beer. There is usually only one bartender, she's very friendly and remembers my face when I stop in. Sometimes service at the bar is a little slow -- it would help to add a 2nd bartender every now and then for the busier nights. The food is delicious and always comes out piping hot. I usually need to wait a couple of minutes before I start eating so it can cool off a bit. I get the old bay fried chicken with a side of fries every time -- it's too perfect not to order. My friends have gotten various sandwiches and the chicken tenders -- I've heard nothing but good comments. They have some fun nightly activities like free pool on Wednesday, jazz on Thursdays, and Karaoke on Fridays. This is definitely a nice local spot to visit after a long day at work. A few weeks ago, I was looking for a place to watch the UMD game (they lost, poor things), and I didn't want to go to a chain restaurant/bar. I discovered this place and it seemed interesting. Even though I ended up having plans with friends to watch the game elsewhere, I still decided to stop through just to check it out. I also needed a new place for my fellas to hang out, as our previous primary hangout spot went through some major changes and we don't particularly like it anymore. So it was a Thursday, so I stopped in a few hours before the game started to get a feel for the place. It was around 6:00 and it wasn't very busy... I always enjoy a chill environment! There's a dartboard, and a room in the back with two pool tables. The bartender was blasting 90's R&B (for Throwback Thursday?) and that was nice. In talking to her, I learned that it is black-owned and it has quite an exciting lineup every week: On Tuesday and Friday, they start karaoke at 8:00 PM; on Wednesdays, there is free pool all day, and on Thursdays, they start Jazz at 8:00 PM and have $4 long islands and margaritas (for women only, guys gotta pay $9.50) all day! I didn't get to try any food in concern of time, but I did have one rail. They're $4.50 flat, which is fine for me! Enjoyed the little bit of time I had and promised I would bring the fellas to the spot soon so they could see how they feel about it. I ended up doing that last night, a Wednesday. Around 6:00 again, the crowd was just as chill as it was the first time. I got the same drink, and ended up ordering food this time around! The fellas and I ended up ordering old bay wings, fries, and mozzarella sticks, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Everything was so hot that they couldn't be eaten for 10-15 minutes... and even then they were still pretty warm. Now that's FRESH. We didn't have to close our tabs to go to the back and play pool, we were able to just move back there whenever we wanted. We played pool for a few hours and just really enjoyed ourselves. I think I have found us a new spot. I also learned that Redd's & Coor's right now are always $1.50 for draft, and everything else has a regular price of $2.50. BEAUTIFUL!
