Fat Boys Crabs in Crofton gives off a strong neighborhood bar vibe, you know another CHEEERS spot. The bartender was friendly, which helped, because the menu itself wasn't exactly throwing a party. The only thing that caught my attention was their margarita which was their house version, cutely named the Sea-Rita. For some reason it wasn't even part of the happy hour deal. Their happy hour drink selection includes Tito's handmade vodka, white tea, green tea, Tullamore D.E.W., crushes, draft beers, and half off glasses of house wine. Respectable, sure, but nothing to text your group chat about. The HH food lineup? Crab pretzel, mussels, fried or grilled wings, a quarter pound of steamed shrimp, and two fish tacos. None of it hit the spot for me then, and flipping through the menu again now, I still feel the same. I've never had a crab pretzel worth a second bite, and I didn't get the sense this place would change my mind. The prices didn't scream happy hour either. One win? Their happy hour runs from 3:00 to 7:00, which I actually liked. That extra hour at the front and back gives you more wiggle room to show up fashionably early or stick around just a little longer there's traffic can be horrific around that time getting there in that area. I stopped in because my wax appointment got pushed back and this spot was on the way. Plus, they had a giant sign outside that mentioned happy hour, and I was on a mission for one. I was also chasing a full moon view over the water, looking for a little magic. Instead, I found a margarita that wasn't on special and a menu I politely declined. This felt like a one and done type of deal. But I love that there are places people can go for happy hour and seafood. The decor was cute inside and I did like the bright colorful happy hour chalkboard sign upon walking in.

Always my family's fav spot to grab seafood. The crabs here are always meaty and delicious. My personal fav is the firecracker shrimp (with the sauce on the side). I have to have it every time I dine here. The staff in the front and the waiters are always so friendly. I love the bartenders. They make the best drinks. I've never had an issue here with food, drinks, or service. As you can see by all the pics I've posted, we love it here.

My last time patronizing Fat Boys! If it's one thing I hate, it's being sold empty crabs. Too hit or miss, as 3 out of the half dozen were empty. No respect for the customers when you're told they're not responsible for 'light' crabs. However it's my responsibility to keep my coins in my pocket. Crabs at the Crab Galley were much better.

Food was hot and good. My only complaint was that my cod fish sandwich arrived with no tarter sauce or condiments on it; just a slice of fish on a toasted bun; I found this extremely strange. The kettle chips with old bay were very yummy. The service was quick.

First I would have to take a moment to highlight our server and bartender, Chris. He was the best. Super attentive, loved his energy. As a first timer to a lot of restaurants, I like to generally ask the server what they like and by that, I want to know what they order to take home. THAT's the news I like to hear - and Chris recommended the MD crab soup. Loved. I was meeting an old coworker here and arrived first, so I ordered a margarita that was decent. Strawberry in flavor, per my request. In addition to this being my first time at Fat Crab, it was my first time having mussels. Pictured. My coworkers choice, and I was happy. *insert food dance* If they're typically served with butter, I think I can say to one that is more familiar with what "good" mussels are.. that I was satisfied. They were good to me, something I would order again. Wings also, good. BUT - overall nothing wow'd me. Not the aesthetic of the restaurant. Not the wings. I wouldn't come JUST for the soup, does that make sense? Maybe it was where we sat at the bar, where I had to awkwardly turn my head to catch the football game, not sure. The bar seemed to occupy frequent guest.. some speaking across the bar at the days they regularly attend. So it must be great for them!

Finally got to experience this place. This is a self seating establishment with no table service. You have to order your food when you arrive at the register, seat yourself, order drinks from the bar etc. My sister was hesitant in buying crabs because of the size and price point, but we did anyway and they were good! Hot, full of crabmeat, seasoned well and kept me happy! We also ordered the crab cake sandwich with coleslaw and the seafood broiler (I asked for my cod to be fried) with french fries. Everything was delicious and would surely visit again. The drinks were cheap and boozy! The moscow mule will never disappoint. After we feasted I went to the liquor store on the other side of the restaurant and went home! One thing to note to come during the day .... EMPTY ... ENJOY!!

We love going during happy hour and getting the bar bites! Baker The gentleman who works there is always really nice! Usually a nice crowd of people it's lively kind of like a sports bar vibe. The food is always on point. I love getting the orange crush, although they came out with variety of drinks. I tried a new drink. It was really good, but I still had to get the orange crush. We got a mortgage board of happy hour food- One of each food item. So we had the sweet chili wings, mussels, crab, pretzel, steamed shrimp, we added fries, and the fish tacos! Needless to say we were stuffed and had a wonderful evening. I didn't take any photos this time because I was so hungry. I dug right in ... but I guess that also leaves you wanting more! Next time we go back, I'll take some photos.

Picked up crabs for memorial weekend and they were on point. Heavy and tasty! Definitely adding Fat Boys to my list to get crabs from. Service was great and our order was ready on time. I definitely recommend trying them.

Tonight's dining experience comes via Fatboy Crab House in Crofton, MD. I decided to buy different items and plate them myself at home. I did not eat at the restaurant. I have a broiled crab cake, shrimp fettuccine pasta alfredo with broccoli and sliced bell peppers, their seasonal vegetables and a bowl of cream of crab. The crab cake was flavorful but a little over cooked. The cream of crab had too much ol' Bay seasoning ,but it was definitely good someone just got heavy handed. The seasonal vegetables were excellent. I topped my meal off with a iced cold Coke Cola. I have no complaints as the meal overall was good. I give this spot a well deserved 3.2 out of 5. I would definitely come back to eat here again.

I had previously gotten caught up in the Canes hype myself, but quickly realized that the chicken was mid, and the sauce carries that whole franchise. I was also put off by how all of a sudden This area had quickly become the fried chicken capital of Maryland, with all these new chicken spots opening. Roaming Roosters, Canes, 2 Royal Farms, Wing Stop, Popeyes, Nandos, Miski (R.I.P.), Dat Jerk (McJamaican), Bon Chon, The Chicken Shack, and still to come Big Chicken which is owned by Shaq will be opening somewhere in the area. It just seems like a lot. To the point i heard someone refer to this area as "The Chicken strip" lol However, I was on Grubhub one night and decided to give it a try. I got a chicken sandwich with Korean BBQ sauce that I wasn't crazy about. The sandwich was just completely soaked with sauce and was sloppy, I wasn't feeling it. I also ordered the wings with cayenne ranch dry rub, and they were absolute fire. So then of course I had to follow up by trying the strips which I actually did today. We dined in (even though I ordered to go) and the staff was reallly nice, like Chickfila level nice, and the store was super clean. There was even a guy outside sweeping the parking lot, that to me looked spotless, but I guess he was sweeping away any possibility that a speck of dirt or debris may land, because I didn't see anything anywhere. When I got my food the first thing I thought was, these tenders look similar to Cane's. Like, almost identical, but as soon as I took a bite, there was no more comparison. The tenders were perfectly seasoned and the fries look the same way McDonald's fries look (in commercials), golden with a slight crunch, and not overly salty. (Review then sits in my draft for like 4 months at this point. I dont even know why) Picking up where I left off, I've since been here like 5 times. I still like it alot, the sandwiches are fire, the tenders are fire, and the wings (cayenne ranch) are fire. Though, I do wish incould get cayenne ranch tenders, but for a once every now and then option this spot is solid.

We…read morethought it was crazy Slim had just recently opened right across the street from Raising Cane's, which had opened 1.5 years earlier in September 2023, which I remember going on their 2nd day in Gambrills and was a madhouse. Business at Slim was light on this Wednesday early evening. While similar to Cane's, one key difference is Slim has more menu variety. At Cane's, it's simply the chicken tender baskets, and Slim has the same thing but also chicken sandwiches as well as more dessert options like chocolate Oreo in a mason jar and other mason jar dessert varieties. We had gotten a tender strip basket & chicken sandwich. I think the chicken sandwich was solid. The chicken tenders were pretty good, but inferior to Cane's across the street, but that would is very high bar to reach Cane's level. Fries & Texas toast was good here, but Cane's is a bit better too. I did like the varieties of dipping sauces here. At Cane's it's just the Caniac sauce. Here I got their Slim sauce & ranch. The tenders are also smaller than at Cane's. But the price for their basket is a fair amount cheaper than Cane's, so that is a plus. In addition to the food deal, I also had a free Mason jar dessert, which I got the Oreo one to split with my g/f. It was the highlight of the entire meal, which was delicious. Additionally, the cashier was very friendly answering all my questions. I will say the service was friendlier here at Cane's. Cane's they are just trying to get people through the line. Overall, I would consider Slim as an option for the chicken sandwich and/or if I have a deal.

I've only been here once so far, but I was already happy with what they have to offer. We ordered three entrées for the three of us dining in. There was no one else here, but it wasn't long after they opened. Hopefully things pick up here soon! Three meals was MORE than too much! You get a TON of food for that price! Each one comes with two big scoops of plain white rice and a scoop of a rather savory macaroni salad. I'm not a huge mac salad fan to start with, but most of them come out very sweet. Not this one, however! It was a nice departure from the standard. I had the Hawaiian grilled chicken. I did have to ask what type of chicken they used, and the guy said it was dark thigh meat. I'm normally a white meat guy, but I gave it a go anyway. I'm so glad I did! This dish was very tasty! It could use more sauce, maybe even some on the side, but it was still quite flavorful. My wife got the short ribs (tasty) and my kid went with the fried shrimp (HUGE!!). There was so much food, that we basically took about 50% of it home. So, before you grouse about the price, it's a LOT of food for the dollar. At least two meals... unless you're super-hungry. The service was fast and the dude was helpful. We didn't have to wait long for everything to be ready. The décor is sparse and could use some Hawaiian flavor. It's pretty drab currently. Overall, this is a neat addition to the Crofton food scene. I really hope it stays around for a while. Whenever I'm in in the Pacific time zone, I always try to find Hawaiian restaurants, as the food is so delicious to me. I returned the dish and decided to give up. My partner ordered the fish and chips but the fish and chips had a charred old taste as the grease was old and therefore the food had a Smokey taste. I looked at my surroundings and everyone pretty much ordered sandwiches and fries of which they left ample amounts of food untouched. As for the drinks the holiday margarita was mostly ice, very thin small glass and there was no edible glitter in it as promised per the menu. No beers on draft. U had spoke highly of this place after my experience with Chef Ahmad but since I regret I can no longer speak highly. The only thing that was great was their pretzel, which I had a couple of bites of someone else's on that Saturday trivia semifinals, in which I had plans for my birthday late lunch birthday deal over in Annapolis. I needed to get there by lunch time as the price is a lot more expensive at dinner, which starts at 3 there. Drinks are good here at Frisco. Service can be pretty slow here sometimes although last time I was there 2 weeks ago, they were surprisingly fast. The 3-stars is mostly for the mediocre food.
