I ended up at The Twisted Crab in search of a seafood boil. I went at night and was surprised to see how lively it was for the time. The food came out fairly quickly. I had crab legs and shrimp in the boil and enjoyed it overall. The waiter was friendly and very attentive. The price was reasonable and can see myself going back again. read more

I don't know or speak about walking or eating at the establishment, HOWEVER, I can and will say that I order via doordash. My friend/sis/roommate introduced me to The Twisted Crab and I have to say, it is VERY FUDGING GOOD!!! I swear I am not a seafood person due to texture... but I get the snow crablegs boil. It is a must have and if you like heat, the hot level is perfect and the spices hit!!! Also, if you get extra potatoes, sausages and corn, my advice is to boil an egg or 2 cut it in half, put it in a container with the 1 or 2 potatoes and sausages. Using the leftover sauce add it on top of the corn and egg, it will soak it up. I take mine for lunch and eat any leftovers for dinner!! It is very filling and hella good. read more

Everything was TWISTED about my experience here. The seafood boil was mediocre, even using the twisted special sauce. The prices were high. The service (front desk) was okay. She was sweet, but the manager was very nasty and not flexible. They don't do ANY substitutions. I wanted to sub a starch for a starch and vegetable for a vegetable. NOPE! They were very unreasonable, and the manager's tone was nasty. The only decent part of this experience was the decor. It was fitting for the type of restaurant and the bathroom was clean. However, I will NEVER go back to this place. Oh, did I mention that the parking was a nightmare. It's on the corner of the street. It's an odd location. Issa NO for mediocre, overpriced, and mean service. read more

The food was great! I ordered a T3 which comes with lobster and they charged me extra for a lobster tail! We got fried and the server came and took them off our table and said they were not ours! The manager Mika was RUDE and kept rolling her eyes and being disrespectful to us. Food was good the people running this place need to be fired!!!! read more

I have been to many seafood restaurants, and this one by far had some of the best-quality food I have ever had. The atmosphere is family-friendly, and the staff were very kind and welcoming. What really stood out, though, was the quality of the food. Everything was cooked perfectly--nothing was dry, and everything was incredibly flavorful. I was also extremely pleased with the selection and the prices, especially considering the quality. I honestly could not have asked for a better experience and would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good seafood. read more

The seafood was very good. I got the crab legs and steamed shrimp and they had a generous portion and the spices were good. I would go back again. The service was friendly. I had takeout so that was fine. read more

There was a 40 min wait when we arrived (no big deal- we didn't have reservations). It was clean and the booths were spacious. Once seated we were greeting pleasantly and quickly and the service remained that way the whole time. Not overly intrusive and we didn't have to look for her. Everything we ordered was really good. The fried soft shell crabs were amazing, well seasoned and meaty! read more

I have to first say I enjoy this place. I love their shrimp basket with french fries their cocktail sauce and they're Yum Yum sauce. It was delicious. It was divine the service. The waitress we had was amazing. I can't remember her name, but she had lime green nails and she was amazing. I love her so much. She made sure that we were taken care of and she gave us boxes cause I didn't finish my food. I was there with a friend. We had good conversation. She made me a mango lemonade without the lemon in it. Praise God cause I don't like lemon in my drinks. The ambience was good. We got there at around 1:30 PM. It wasn't too crowded yet which was beautiful but as soon as we left, of course they turned up the music just a little louder. We stayed for maybe an hour and a half maybe almost 2 hours. They had great songs on the radio, but it wasn't so loud when we couldn't hear each other talking, like I said when we left the music, I turned up just a little bit, but it was a great great food. Great service from start to finish and my friend. He left her a great tip because she was that amazing. I loved her green nails. They were beautiful so I will be returning well. I returned a lot, but I never eaten on the inside. I've always gotten my orders to go. Time I ate on the inside and it was wonderful and it was clean very clean super clean it smelt like clean and yummy food when I walk in the door she didn't offer us any specials cause we knew exactly what we wanted my friend got the hot honey wings. They were pretty good. They were too spicy for me so he shared one with me, but they were delicious but my shrimp and french fry and I got hush puppies with honey. Is something about those hush puppies with honey I never in my life, tried it. I don't know what kind of Honey they use, but it was divine. read more

Stopped in Twisted crab while my car was charging. I was hungry but did not want to get my hands dirty so I ordered lemon pepper wings with Cajun fries. It took a little while to come out but it came out fresh and was tasty. That's all I can hope for when hungry. Twisted does have one of the best seafood boil sauces. I will be back to get my hands dirty soon. read more

Wings are absolutely delicious and sweet potato fries are good as well. Definitely worth the visit

The food is amazing it has a wonderful ambiance the music is a vibe and the service was friendly and helpful

My family loves the wings here, especially the lemon pepper and their crab bags are good, especially with ramen noodles added. They also offer amazing dinner specials so call ahead to see what they offer as it changes daily. If you like strong drinks this is the place for you. LOL The customer service here is always solid and the establishment kept clean. I really enjoy this business. read more

I wasn't a fan of The Twisted Crab. The experience overall was poor from the customer service, quality of food and ambiance. They had great choices in music selection but it wasn't enough to keep me. Initially, I was at the bar for a while before anyone came over for a greeting and this employee was on break but did come over to assist. Between this staff member and the actual bartender, both were engaged in phone conversations with AirPods in. So with that observation, it made for shot and abrupt responses, being rushed through options and just not welcoming. There was a bit of upset when I shared (at the start of my visit) that I didn't want an alcohol beverage because I was unsure. I got the wings, which weren't bad but I've experienced better. The engagement in selection between HH vs. a regular order of wings was unclear and short. I ate a few wings and decided to get the rest to-go. read more

My sister and I decided to stop here while doing our Christmas shopping. The place was quite empty, but the staff was friendly and accommodating. I was excited to get in just as the happy hour menu was being served, but my excitement quickly faded when I realized that the four-dollar shot was only about the size of my thumb. I ordered the honey wings from the happy hour menu as well, but I definitely won't be returning to drink. read more

This was my first time visiting this spot, and I was surprised that the Twisted Crab had food choices which made my heart happy. This spot looked nothing that I had imagined. I absolutely love The Twisted Crab. I come here about once a week and always order the same thing in my seafood boil: 1/2 pound of shrimp (no head), 1/2 pound of mussels 1/2 pound of snow crab legs with garlic butter and Old Bay. Simple and perfect every time. The crab cakes are also really good. They're not traditional lump crab cakes, but they still hit the spot. I've ordered through DoorDash and also dined in, and the quality has always been consistent. Hot, fresh, and delicious. The seafood here is excellent, and I'll definitely keep coming back. read more

I was with a small group in the Bowie area on a Saturday afternoon around 5- we decided to stop by for a drink and a quick bite. Overall, the restaurant was pretty empty but the bar was packed; there was no host at the welcome stand so we let ourselves in to find the bar. This spot has the potential to be a new go-to Bowie spot for me. The regular drink prices are really great - well drinks are $6, nicer cocktails are $7-10. Their happy hour drink specials (Mon - Thurs 3-6p and all day Sunday) are really great! There are only 3 small-ish TV's over the bar but I'm sure they'd still work for a gameday....especially with all day Sunday deals! We got well whiskey/gin drinks and a margarita; everything was solidly strong and tasty. Their food menu looks great, a typical variety of fried and steamed seafood options. We were just there for quick bites so we got the fried shrimp basket with shrimp for $13. The food was hot and crispy; the shrimp was well seasoned. I'd get the same thing the next time I return. Two areas of improvement: One, the acoustics in the restaurant are terrible - I found myself raising my voice to talk to the folks I was there with. I think this is because the space is essentially one large dining room with no separators or walls; everyone's noise seemed to collide with each others. Two, the service at the bar was a little slow - I'm giving the benefit of the doubt because the bar was crowded for most of the afternoon, but we found ourselves waiting for attention for longer than usual a couple of times. Overall, I'm glad I tried this spot - I definitely plan on returning to enjoy those great happy hour deals and fried shrimp. read more

Fri., 8/30/24: Pretty quiet for happy hour but it IS a holiday weekend. Our server was awesome ... personality and respect go a loonnnggg way in my book. GOOD JOB Mario! I ordered the fried oyster basket. Pretty decent. Others ordered wings and fried shrimp baskets and had no complaints. This is not my first time here (just my first time reviewing on Yelp). Sooo many of these crab boil places have popped up in recent years but the food and ambience are pretty much identical. Some may have a bigger bar, more televisions, yada, yada but the budget friendly, casual, dine-in versus carry-out vibe is pretty much all the same. (Including MY favorite spot, Crafty Crab, in Clinton.) I will return to The Twisted Crab and if you are looking for quick and casual, in the Bowie area, you should also stop in and tell them you saw it on Yelp. read more

My server Mika was the only person working when i stepped in. It wasn't that busy but it was busy enough for me to know she was working her butt OFF !! My drinks (she made) and food (she brought) came fast and I noticed she was also responsible for resetting tables. She checked on me countless times and was so sweet 10/10. the food was bomb too but watching how hard she worked to make sure I enjoyed my meal made it taste even better. read more

I enjoyed my food and drinks. I judge crab boils by the sauce. The twisted sauce here was delicious. Our waitress did a great job and she was very attentive. Would dine again. Setting pretty standard for a crab place with the leather seats and ship themes I was surprised that they do not allow writing on the wall or hang photos as I have seen this at similar establishments . I like that it's neat. They do start shutting down 30 minutes before closing so having tables and chairs moved and put away while I dined was unexpected. read more

It's a crab bag place like the rest of the crab bag places. The service was ok....the bags were the same as everywhere else. Nothing stuck out for me. I wish that the owners and marketing managers of some of these new restaurants would come up with something that makes them unique. The drinks were good...and it's in the perfect spot to stop in after you've been shopping at Bowie Towne Center. Besides that...It is EXACTLY like ANY OTHER place that sells seafood in a bag. read more

The food was so good! I ended up taking some home and reheating it, it was still so good!!! I love the mixed blend of seasonings. I ordered the medium but I should've gotten the spicy.. as the medium was much of a kick (or the kick that i was looking for) I came here early in the day and it was pretty cool. It's something about seafood spots and their music choice..it's always GOOD. I love old school R&B and that's what they were playing. The service was good and the waiter was pretty nice. I would definitely return! read more

The Twisted Crab - T1 - Seafood Near Me - Bowie, Maryland

Twisted Crab is a new addition to the Bowie Town Center. The space is large and bright, with plenty of booth seating perfect for large groups. The server that we had was really friendly. It should be noted that they do not currently have their bar license (even though they have cocktails listed on the menu), but they anticipate getting it within the next couple of weeks. The menu says they have happy hour every day, even on Sundays, so that will be nice to see once they get that situated. I ordered the T1 special, which includes snow crab, sausage, shrimp, and potatoes and corn. It's a pretty good value and very filling for one person. I got it in the Cajun sauce, spicy. The spice levels are pretty accurate, so if you like some heat on your seafood, you're in the right place. I liked the flavor of the Cajun seasoning, but it was a bit too oily for me. The half and half I ordered was delicious, and I like that the drinks include free refills. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here, and am sure I'll be back regularly, especially to check out the happy hour. read more

First time here cemented that I'll be back soon! They have all day happy hour on Sunday, which has tons of options and includes top shelf $4 shots. Their spicy tenders are sooooo good! Super sauced and crispy, with flavor in every bite. I really enjoyed their fried shrimp as well, which comes with their signature sauce. Service was speedy, our waitress shared some of her favorite items and what other customers enjoyed. My daughter and I wanted to give this place a try so we did, yesterday. We were told there would be a 15 minute wait, even through there were plenty of empty tables. I didnt realize they had a bar until we were seated. You would think the hosts would have suggested we have a seat at the bar so we could order drinks while we wait, but they didnt. Anyway, there was a festival outside so we walked around until we got the call that our table was ready. When our food arrived, I asked for gloves and the waitress said they ran out. She saw the disappointment on our faces, and said she would check in the back to look around. She returned with some gloves (fully exposed in her bare hands). The gloves looked like the kind they use to wear when wiping the tables. I dont see why the manager couldn't take the 4 min walk to the Dollar Tree to get boxes of gloves for the day. The food was like any other crab joint but the drinks were awful. I couldn't taste the alcohol. Later that night, my daughter and I got food poison probably due to the exposed gloves. I gave the waitress a nice tip because she was nice but I would never return. read more

In full transparency my husband is a fan of seafood boil not me. Theres too much work & mess to eat the seafood. That being said my husband wanted to go to Twisted Crab since we were walking around Bowie Town center. The staff was very professional & the place was clean including the bathroom. The seafood was meatier than H&R. The issue were the customers. It was gheeeetttttooooo. At first I wanted to blame everything on the bad kids who were there with their trifling parents but nope there were a few other obnoxiously loud tables. I felt sorry for the staff. One time was enough. We won't be back. read more

I think it's kinda unfair to review a business before they have had a chance to complete their soft opening and obtain certain things like a liquor license to boost your experience. Nonetheless I've already patronized the Twister Crab twice since they opened. The first occasion was a sit down experience....do note that this restaurant hasn't been opened long so the bar is not fully set up nor are their any TVS for you to watch...lucky me that I don't mind not having TVs...it forces you to communicate and I'm all for it. The menu is decently large compared to other crab places but what shocked me the most was the ability to order naked or breaded wings....I was shocked lol...it's the little things for me. I tried the Cajun breaded wings on one occasion and old bay naked wings on another...I will say that my wings were better in person than taking them home. Others in my party tried the seafood steam platters and were pleased but not thrilled. So you ask why the four stars...well it's a pending ongoing review. I plan to return once the place is fully operational which may cause an update...but on my first visit my meal was fire....I'm not gonna lie...those wings fresh out the grease hit a little different. They were so good I'm ashamed to admit I order more the next day lol. The ambiance is similar to other crab places...I mean we have roughly 4 in the general area and they all look the same...but as long as twisted crab keep producing these fire wings...I'm in there read more

Welp.. that didnt last long. Third time was not the charm. I went back after a good experience here and it was still decent. Today.. absolutely not. What i liked about the sauce is gone- it's completely watered down and watery. My broccoli looked a little old. My drink had not a hint of alcohol in it, i had to get an extra shot half way through it cuz otherwise why am i drinking a $10 icee? The wings were fried expertly but i couldnt taste any lemon pepper- could see it but couldnt taste it. Im mad i didnt just drive to DC like i planned on doing to Hot n Juicy. She was attentive and had great customer service. The food was good, and the prices fair! A little on the drier side, so you may need to ask for extra sauce, but everything still tasted fresh and the spice levels were accurate (i got medium). Also, Excellent music selection.
