These were the broiled scallops they didn't clean
Mia A.

Service was not ideal vibes to say the least. They brought us bread in a bowl because they said they ran out of small bread plates. Cold butter. Crab dip was just hot mayonnaise with cheese. They took forever to bring the broiled scallops out but left the little tough tail on so they didn't really clean them and they look unappealing with a sprinkle of paprika for flavor lol smh who eats here fr?! Not for me. The best thing were the mozzarella sticks they were so good lol like they had seasoning in them lol that's crazy they were the best thing

These are some of best Maryland style crab cakes you can get anywhere! You have to try them!!!

Been a couple of years since I have been here but dang the food and service is still top notch. The seafood is so fresh and the place is quaint and full of charm. I have got to start coming back here on the regular. Love this place!!!!!

Yummy. Get the lump crab cake broiled. Each bite is a chunk of lump crab meat.

Food was delish. Service was excellent. The lump crab cakes were chunked full of lump. Wow! Hardly any filler to speak of. We will definitely be back. Soooo good!

Single crabcake dinner. Came with 2 sides. I chose fries and salad bar.

Amazing crab cakes! They are full of lump crabmeat without fillers. The house cut fries are delicious. Crab dip was just ok- too much cheese, filler, cream cheese. But everyone enjoyed their meals.

We had an amazing night celebrating my boyfriend's 50th birthday at the Edgewater restaurant!! we walked in without a reservation. It was only four of us, but were seated right away, and our waitress was very attentive. She was the granddaughter of the owner and suggested a few dishes to us, which we definitely listen to her and order the crab imperial and my boyfriend and his roommate ordered The twin rock lobster tails which were stuffed with crab imperial!! we very much enjoyed our appetizers as well. We ordered the muscles which were steamed in white wine ,butter, and garlic. The restaurant is like stepping back in time, which I really enjoyed

This hidden gem looks like a house so you will definitely miss it if you're driving fast. Once you're inside you're immediately greeted by one of the staff and seated. Everyone is so friendly and you feel at home. There is a little table showing desserts(stay away until you get your food) it's deliciously presented and tempting. I ordered the double crab cakes with stewed tomatoes and all I can say is OMG! The picture doesn't do it justice! Not only was it delicious it was HUGE! I have the second one for lunch today! I had a lemonade to drink but there is a full bar. This is a place I would come to again and again just for the ambiance and the food! packed with lump crabmeat but it was seasoned well. My friend had the blackened stuffed Rockfish and that didn't disappointed our taste buds(could've had a little more seasoning) but overall it was delicious! They do have a small salad bar (I didn't partake) but it looked fresh and I did see it replenished a few times while we were there.

Date Night! His favorite spot... never heard of it! Let's just say I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't look like much from the outside, kinda out dated inside. The typical neighborhood spot. Friday night was a full house. The main area packed. That's a good sign that the food was going to be great! Absolutely. Delicious. Service, Great. Starters: Cream of Crab Soup? I'm not a soup fan but this was flavorful and FULL of lumps of sweet crab. Rockfish fingers? Fried strips of rockfish with a Cajun dipping sauce. Onions rings? So light an tasty not greasy at all. OMGoodness I could have stopped there but WHY?! I had the seafood plater broiled. Gigantic scallops, steamed shrimp, STUFFED SHRIMP, fried clams. The only thing that didn't make me feel loved was the twiced baked potato. Flat out NO. Don't get it. Get the fries. Fresh cut and delish. The fried stuffed shrimp were awesome as well. The green beans were pretty darn tasty in my opinion. Not over cooked or over seasoned. Coleslaw isn't offered as a side but was available on the salad which was very small but everything was fresh. It was very crowded, so an obvious choice by the regulars. We opted for the home made cup cakes for dessert to go because there was no way we could've eaten another single thing! This place might not have all the visual effects but it lacks absolutely nothing when it comes to amazing seafood. Ridiculous sized portions. Great wait staff. Definitely worth another visit.

This is a family owned and operated restaurant. It is not a fancy place. In fact, the place looked outdated but the service and food made up for lackluster appearance of the place. We started with the cream of crab (option to add sherry and old bay - a must). Delicious. We loved the soup so much, we ordered another bowl to go. We also got fried pork chops. These had good flavors but a little disappointed that it was not crispy. Of course we also got the double boiled lump crab cakes with two sides. The crabcakes were huge and no fillers. It could used just a little more seasoning. The salad bar is one of the side option. It's not a huge salad bar but had the basic items. The fried okra was perfectly fried. I didn't care for the string beans. However, overall this was a nice dinner out.

I wanted to confirm that the crawfish was fresh and not frozen. I had noticed in some previous order that food didn't taste fresh. David kindly confirmed it was fresh and this was the prime time to enjoy. (David was helpful) I ordered the Fish basket that comes with fries and coleslaw. You have the option to select cat fish or rock fish (selected the rock). I also got Cajun boiled that comes with potato, shrimp, corn. I included three orders of the crawfish in the boil. The family was disappointed, many of the crawfish was NOT fresh and many of the tails were mushy. It's like it was frozen and overcooked to the point of texture was ruined. Out of all the crawfish three were fresh. Highly disappointed. The flavor We got was the shack medium spice but it was flavorless. The rockfish was extremely dry from the inside but crispy from the batter. The French fries had to be place in the air fryer and add our own seasoning. The coleslaw was the best out of everything. I would like to know what happen? I used to order from here all the time once it opened. The food was fresh and you could tell. Who ever made my food when I first review this spot. Please let me know because I need them back.

Sometimes, you let life take you down an unknown street and the journey becomes a treasured trip…read more That is what happened when we decided to try Harper's Waterfront on Turkey Point. We had heard that a new restaurant had opened up there and we were wondering where to eat. A few options drifted through our heads before finally settling on Harper's. Boy, did we find a real gem of a restaurant! The dining room, still decorated for Christmas, was so charming. Modern, a little rustic, but very nice and comfortable. The seats were cozy. The lighting was a bit bright but that's not so bad. And the place was clean, clean, clean - from the hostess table to our dining table to the nicely decorated bathroom and even the floors. Everything was clean! Abbey, our server, was friendly and interesting to talk to. She spent so much time talking to us that we were monopolizing her time. She was well spoken, very attractive, attentive and - simply put - a nice person. Likewise, all the staff seemed friendly and professional. But - it's always about the food, isn't it? The food here was really good. We both started out with the cream of crab soup, a dish that we use as the "canary in the cave" to tell us about a new restaurant. Well, the soup won us over from the 1st slurp. Creamy of course - but luxurious even! No hint of a flour taste at all. Beautifully seasoned with just enough Old Bay! Okay, so maybe there could have been more crab in there but, the crab that was in the soup, was big, lumpy and pure! The flavor of the soup was fantastic! My main course was the rockfish piccata. OMG was I impressed! The size of the fish serving was outrageously big. I actually told Abbey that the piece of fish was too big (but only AFTER I had eaten every bite). The first bite told me that I was going to finish it one way or the other! And I did!!! It was a beautiful piece of fish. It was the largest piece of fish I think I have ever been served. The fish was served "skin on" which I usually do not like but in this case it added to the Chesapeake Bay atmosphere of the restaurant. The piccata sauce was perfect - lemony with lots of capers. Maybe a bit too hard on the salt but that did NOT decrease my enjoyment! I just drank more water and had another Arnold Palmer! My spouse got the crab cake sandwich. He loved it and said it was the real deal (meaning that it's Maryland crab meat). He of course ate the whole thing PLUS - I want to point out - he ate a substantial part of my rockfish and I didn't even notice it was missing!!! I hesitate to write this review because I do not want Harper's to get so crowded that I can't get a table when I want to return (and I WILL return). However, Harper's is a great place to get some great food in a delightful atmosphere with great service! I highly recommend this place!!!

We were visiting Annapolis for the first time and this was a relaxed spot for dinner after a day of exploring! We sat on the covered deck outside, there's a nice walkway leading from the back of the restaurant over the water with some tables as well outside. He ordered the crab cakes with potato side, and we started with the crab dip appetizer. The crab dip was more than enough for two, it had spinach artichoke I think, and possibly cream cheese! It was delicious with the bread and chips it came with. We also shared 1/2 dozen of blue crabs steamed. They came out hot but took a little while, understandably though since they were busy. The crabs were meaty and tasty. Our server was great I forgot her name but she was young and made sure our Diet Coke got refilled, and checked up on us without being overbearing. We paid cash since there's a card fee for most crab places around the area, and made sure to tip the hardworking staff here. It's a quintessential blue crab experience in a great laid back place. I noticed the bar area inside filled up with many people watching the college games. A lot of families were dining inside! And I'm glad we got there for an early dinner around 5 because by the time we left, a line for a table formed around the front entrance. Check them out!

We started with the crab balls (yes very plump and crabby), but $21 was a hefty price tag for 5 balls. For food, we both got a broiled crab cake sandwich with a side of fries (I didn't hear this, but my mother-in-law said we couldn't do side substitutions which seems odd?). The sandwich came on a potato bun and had some iceberg lettuce and a sad looking tomato - the crab cake itself was very meaty just not overly flavorful. Also didn't love they used plastic cups for drinks - not a fan of single use plastic! The location / views of the place were nice - it sat overlooking the water, and while we sat inside because it was a little cool, there was outdoor seating for those braving the cooler temperatures.

I informed the waiter at the start that I am allergic to shrimp and ordered the Sea Bass & Scallops. After a few bites, my throat began itching, and I discovered a large piece of shrimp in the dish, it was in the risotto. The receipt later stated that I "did not like" the dish, which was inaccurate. I immediately raised the concern, and the waiter explained that he forgot to inform the kitchen and mentioned he was new. The manager did comp the meal, which I appreciated, but my concern was never about cost--I simply wanted to eat safely and enjoy my uncle's 73rd birthday. I reordered a fish with mashed potatoes and artichokes. By the time it arrived, the rest of the table was nearly finished eating, and the fish was slightly burnt. I chose not to send it back, though the flavor was good. We ordered three appetizers, a bowl of cream of crab soup, and three entrées total, and overall the food was tasty. With that being said, food allergies must always be taken seriously, as this could have been dangerous for someone with a more severe allergy. I recommend that new servers carefully write down orders, fully learn the menu--especially allergens--or be paired with experienced staff. While the food was good, this experience has made me hesitant to return. Additionally, our reservation was not found upon arrival the host told me something like they don't see it on OpenTable.
