Hello I want to share my feedback about Cox Creek Crab. It is a small business and we wanted to patron a small business to help them out. I will never order from them again. We were informed the crabs would be a mix of jumbo, large and medium. That was far from the truth. We ordered half a bushel of crabs. For half a bushel of crabs, two people ate them and were still hungry; there we're at best small or medium. They were light and unfilling. After driving 35 minutes to the location and then 35 minutes back home to eat the crabs and noticing the small size, we were not pleased. We called to complain about our disappointment and the response was basically oh well. We actually had to go elsewhere for crabs. I would not recommend Cox Creek Crab at all. Crabs were not tasty and they were not full and the misrepresentation about the crab sizes really was disconcerting. I tried to reach the location again to see if they would remedy the situation, but received the same poor customer service response. I would not recommend going to Cox Creek Crab for crabs nor for anything else for that matter. read more

I go out of my way to go here. Hands down they best the prices at all the establishments in Anne Arundel County for crabs. And the best quality, quantity and customer service. I'm a bit shocked at a few of the other reviews on yelp. I'm thinking the consumers just don't really know how crabs are sized or priced.l or maybe they l haven't dealt much with other crab carry businesses. (My guess is they wante dsomething for nothing though) All said, the Cox Creek crabs are meaty, done right, and the owner is a small business, sole proprietor, that honors his customers and ALWAYS makes his customers his priority. In the food business that says a lot! The company is only open extended weekends (usually Thursday or Friday thru Sunday and holidays) from Late April to about Mid September. They normally have a variety of sized crabs from #2, med, large, #1, and jumbo, and appropriately priced as the sizes go up in size. BONUS: he ALWAYS throws in a Bakers Dozen per dozen (not really advertised but he does) and will add about 3-4 regular small crabs to your order just because. So if you are looking for tasty crabs and want quality plus quantity it's the place to go. As I ordered my last 1/2 bushel of #1's ... I watched other customers who clearly thought because he is a micro small company single owner and works his own business that they could bully him and get over. Honestly - I was amazed. He allows you to even see the crabs before going in the pot. No other company I'm aware of does that - and certainly not the big boys in the county. I have never had a bad experience here and given the establishments size - even when busy they crank crabs pretty fast. Sure there is sometimes a wait - the crabs are cooked fresh to order. That's expected and if you eat crabs at all in Maryland - or any where else - you know to plan ahead and that there will be a line and a little wait while they are steaming. The company also sells KILLER huge shrimp by the pound - raw or steamed. And during the mid summer months often have fresh raw scallops (for you to cook at home). They have steamed corn on the cob as well - by the ear or by the dozen and the dozen prices are a "bakers dozen" also. read more

The first few times I got their crabs, they were great! I prefer females and honestly the jumbo's were tasty and full of meat. However this past weekend, after bragging about them to my Sister, we went to pick some up, and were very disappointed. The crabs were very light and not as big as they were before, they were more like the large crabs, most were paper shells and they tasted like they were boiled, hardly any seasoning on them. I was very disappointed and now I'm not sure if it was a bad day or these are the crabs they have now. I am not sure if I will try them again, I will be sure to check them if I do. The crab size is not the only thing that makes it good (by the way not the size I had previously ordered as Jumbo's, these were much smaller this time). I hope it was a bad day. read more

So this is the new purveyor of seafood in Edgewater, and I was immediately glad to see they price their crabs by number 1 and number two rather than the more recent practice of sizing small, medium , extra large and Jumbo . The crabs are comparably priced at 50 a dozen for number ones . We were told when we ordered it would be a 45 minute wait which is kinda long but we were ok with that, we came back in 45 minutes and told it would be another 15 minutes. They are very polite and apologized for the wait . When we ordered they asked how we like them seasoned , we said as spicy as they come which they nailed , the taste was dead on, they were a tick over cooked but overall pretty good . The whole problem was that the size of the crabs were horrible, by far more number twos than the number ones I paid for. Crabs are expensive , I get that , but when I pay for number ones , I expect number ones. read more
