My new seafood market! Growing up in DC, the wharf was always my go-to spot for fresh and fast cooked seafood. Now that I'm in MD and several miles from the city, I was in need of a fresh seafood market. In jumps Wild Seafood! Wow. Just wow. If I am not mistaken, the market receives daily fresh seafood shipments. Once inside, you're greeted with so many seafood options -- from fish to shrimp, conch, and much more. During my most recent visit, I purchased snapper and salmon. Both were amazingly fresh. I opted for them to clean and scale the snapper for me. When I got home, we ended scaling the fish a bit more. I also did my own version of cleaning, seasoning and we cooked that bad boy the next day! *Chef's Kiss* I have to go back to purchase their crabs and crawfish. I'll do this once the weather decides to be sunny and consistent! Definitely make a visit if you live close by!

-- At Wild Seafood, the exchange is swift, a five-minute ritual that is less a purchase than a small communion with the ocean's cold harvest. The entrance, flanked by weathered signs and the American flag, suggests both welcome and warning: "Caution: slippery conditions." Inside, a scale hums under the hand of a worker, the touchscreen pulsing with its endless digital circle, while the price, though sharp enough to sting, feels like a toll paid at the gate of freshness. Shellfish rest unseen but implied, their very nearness a reminder of the sea's indifference and its gifts. Service moves like the tide--brisk, inevitable--strangers briefly bound by commerce and smiles before they disperse again into the indifferent daylight. There is no small talk about destiny or despair, just the unspoken knowledge that the catch was alive not long ago, and that vitality clings to its flesh still. The cost, perhaps a bit too heavy, is softened by the friendliness of those behind the counter, who serve with the kind of unhurried generosity that makes the world seem, briefly, survivable. You walk away with seafood wrapped in paper, carrying not just food but proof that freshness and human kindness, however fleeting, can coexist in a world where so little else feels guaranteed. The staff's warmth made the experience brighter, and that kindness is worth remembering.

A staple in Jessup! Hey I've been going here for years and have never been disappointed!!! They have all the fish you're looking for....im from the Midwest so I had a craving for jack salmon/whiting and whole catfish that can be cut into steaks. This place previously would just filet or cut the heads off but now they give you five ways of cutting your fish for which I think is great!!!! They have all the seafood ( scallops, shrimp, crawfish, etc.) that you need along with seasonings and oil. Oh did I mention they have fresh crab-meat and lobster!! They are a lil expensive but you get what you pay for. Got a seafood craving give this place a try!

$1 crabs from Saturday were AMAZING. We're serious about steamed blue crabs in MD and while there are loads of places that sell them - you pick a good one and stick with them. This spot is amazing. They have all kinds of seafood- fresh and dressed or non. You can have prepared to your liking in store or take home whole fish and customize yourself. And then there are the crabs. They do offer crabs by the dozen at cost but I am partial to the $1 crabs which have always been a good size and have never failed me. I arrived at opening and was told the truck has just come in so I had a few hour wait for steaming so I fed my shopping addiction in area and returned. Get here early because they get super busy

I love this place for the fresh seafood and the selection, but especially for the terrific service and the pleasure of shopping here. We wanted to make a bouillabaisse, and found everything we needed in this rather small well-stocked fresh market. The secret of the traditional recipe is to use almost-all fresh seafood, no fresh-water fare, and maybe a little bit of frozen seafood. Traditionally it's fishermen's stew, so really, only add one "splurge" ingredient. The iced tables had at least 40 types of whole and trimmed seafood, with several more in the freezer. In two-thirds of the store it's self-serve, and everywhere you select the exact ones you want. Gloves and trays are provided, and if you like, bring the whole fish to the window in the back and they are happy to trim it the way you want it. In February, we got fresh hake, mussels, and shrimp. The mussels were so clean that when we prepared them at home, we found that they were already almost-all beardless and completely without a grain of sand! We added some frozen haddock for variety. And for a special touch we added fresh rockfish, just enough to gently simmer separately to be sure every guest was served a portion on top of the rest. For the stock, we asked for some fresh-cut trimmings of whatever anyone just bought, and the amazing manager gave us a huge de-filleted grouper, cut in half for us to fit our stewpot! It was so big, my carving knife at home couldnt have cut through the bones! Our broth could have been a meal in itself, and we dipped it with toasty sourdough bread to savor every drop. We shop here every few months for a family feast, we always feel well taken care of, and we can always find fresh in-season seafood here.

We trekked here to grab some fish for Friday!!! There was a good selection of seafood. We purchased porgies which are my mom's favorite. We try to get her every thing she desires. The porgies we cooked today were super fresh. We also purchased snapper, shrimp, and salted cod that we froze for another day. I am planning a shrimp and grits meal next. The prices were expensive; 4- snapper fish was $60+ dollars. Well everything is expensive these days. We arrived early about 9:30 am. When we were leaving about 15 people came in so we went just in time. The patrons were friendly and we exchanged stories and information about fish. Also, the staff is friendly and courteous and the fish cleaners did an excellent job -- no scales. Please remember to tip them if you go. I plan to return more often so we eat more fresh fish.

Wild seafood is hands down the best fresh seafood in the area. Not only is the seafood top tier the service and staff is as well. The general manager is about the friendliest person I've ever met. You'd never think that this little gem nestled in at what you think is a big truck stop when you pull up, could be this great. 5 out of five would recommend. As much as I eat out, this girl is a big time cook and the quality of the fish seafood hits the mark for me! Give them a try you'll never want to get seafood from anywhere else. It's worth the drive. The prices are fair in my opinion. I spent about 40 bucks on a pound of shrimp and a pound of catfish. The pieces of catfish were huge, already deboned. They also had whole fish selections.

I have recently discovered a fondness for chargrilled oysters! I found that Wild Seafood sells fresh oysters, however they are not cleaned or shucked! No problem to this novice! This gem is close to my home with most hours of 9-5 with the exception of Fridays and Sundays! The location is nestled in a warehouse area when you must go through a gate to enter! I've never paid for parking so that's not an issue! Upon entry near a loading dock, the store front is small but there is wall to wall seafood! The oysters are right up front! And on most occasions, they have three types at differing sizes and price points! I have purchased the VA Salts which are small but about $16/dozen! I have also purchased the Glidden Points which are $27/dozen I believe! The Glidden Points are a lot bigger! They were not shucked however and I asked about how to and the young lady advised me to go to YouTube University but be very. Careful not to cut your hands! I also purchased the Scottish Salmon which was amazing however it was about $21.99/lb! I have also purchase catfish as well as red snapper which I have had cleaned and cut to my liking! And if you are not certain how you like your fish cut, they have a board that is very detailed to advise of cutting styles! The staff here are very nice and friendly fly and very knowledgeable! It is a small staff and they remember faces! They definitely remembered myself and my boyfriend! I will be returning to purchase more and more fresh amazing quality seafood!

Seafood market with extremely fresh fish. They will skin, clean, filet any fish you want. They always have 6-12 different varieties with prices varying from $4.99/$9.99 a pound. In addition they have other popular seafood to include $1.00 crabs which are always a decent size.

On the right side of the restaurant is a bar area where you can get drinks/cocktails and order food. Someone will bring the food to you on this side. On the left side is the cafeteria style where you order at the counter and they call out your number and you pick up the food. Service is really nice. They have an extensive menu and they answered all my questions. We got fried scallops, which were big and juicy. Not overcooked! Paired well the sauces available near the door, and my favorite was a mix of cocktail sauce and the hot sauce. The fried oysters were my favorite though. We also liked the crab balls, and the Maryland crab soup which came with big pieces of crab. The sides of collard greens and Mac and cheese definitely hit the spot. The steamed Cajun mussels were big in portion and delicious too. We were only visiting for a short time but I wish I tried their desserts and chicken wings and seafood boil. The little bottles with alcohol on the side (rum punch , jungle juice, etc) were so good too. Those are dangerous, they don't even taste like alcohol! The food is super heavy here but it hits the cravings and the ambiance with everyone there is nice.

I ordered the stuffed flounder with two sides. I got collard greens and brussel sprouts. Also ordered a small Maryland crab soup. My partner got the shrimp and scallops over rice and ordered a side of green beans with mushrooms. Everything was outstanding. My flounder was broiled nicely and there were what seemed to be three filets in the order. The stuffing (crab meat) was a huge portion of what seemed to be just crab. I kept looking for mayo or filler and didn't see anything. It was delicious. The collard greens and brussel sprouts - huge portion of each - were both very good. I liked the fact that the greens were not swimming in pork fat and didn't have anything in them but tasty greens. My partner enjoyed their scallops and shrimp. The rice was even in texture and flavorful. The Maryland crab soup had at least 4 large chunks of crab in addition to veggies. Delicious broth with old bay flavor. There's a sauce station with Mambo sauce, cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, hot sauce and ketchup. I tried all the sauces and they were good. Cocktail sauce had a good amount of horseradish in it. The place itself is set up like a huge cafeteria. You walk in and order at a counter, then pass a variety of the entrees and sides. They all looked fresh and good. Large. Well lit seating area. You seat yourself and pick up your order when it's ready (a sign displays the order numbers when they are ready). The place is clean and I enjoyed the variety of music playing throughout our meal. Some Luther Vandross, Chicago, and other tunes from the same time period. Really pleasant. There's an active bar with happy hour food and drinks. The bar was hopping when we were there.
