This local hole in the wall place has great Maryland crabs! I always stop here when I am in the area. I hear people complain about Seafood Market because of the way it operates but you can't beat the prices. Here are some things to know about the place that might be helpful. 1, The do NOT take reservations, first come first serve. Steamed or live 2. Bring cash to receive the best price. Credit accepted but there is a surcharge 3, They post daily on Facebook. This includes prices, store hours and crab availability as the day goes on. Read it before you go over as they will not answer they phone but will answer thru Facebook. 4. Weekends can sell out quickly. 5 Maryland crabs is all they sell. I have bought crab meat in the past but that is an occasional thing Great way to support local watermen! You will not be disappointed. read more

I've been coming to sea market for years and they usually have the best crabs around. I recently got a bad half bushel of #1's and simply posted on their facebook page that I had gotten the worst crabs I had ever gotten from them (thinking maybe I'd at least get a "we'll do better") they blocked me! Needless to say I will never ever buy crabs from this joke of an establishment ever again. read more

For many years bought crabs here with no issue and 1 time this year decided to buy live crabs. Putting them in the steamer I realized there were barely 2 dozen crabs in this half bushel whereas the cooked bushel has twice as much. Remembered when they were being put in the box they were stuck together so the box was mostly filled with air. Someone asked on a post on their FB about live crabs and I let them know my experience and suggested steamed. This resulted in being blocked. It's funny as there are many places to buy crabs but I thought I would let people know what type of childish clown runs this place. I bought a 1/2 bushel of "#1 males" on Sunday June 12, 2022. After getting home & opening the box I was greatly disappointed. Most of the crabs were 4 3/4" to 5" at the most. Got 1/2 bushel #1 crabs. After watching Facebook for the daily post of price and availability, we drove over and got in line. Parking lot was filled and the line went around the block. Most people got steamed crabs, but personally I'm not ready to eat crabs at 11 in the morning. Old bay is not included with the live crabs so we bought a box for ~$5 and paper. They have two different prices for the crabs, one for cash and one for credit card. They clearly state that they do not answer their phones on the Facebook post and only have estimated times of being open. Overall, the crabs were good and I would definitely go there again. read more

Ordered 1/2 bushel crabs. The majority of them were full of sand under the shell. Crabs had to be rinsed off before eating or you had a mouthful of gritty crabmeat. Messaged Seamarket and was told this was because the crabs were from Maryland and this happens during these months. I eat crabs a lot and have never had this issue. What a waste of $150! read more

Steamed crabs were pretty good, had a lot of meat in them but were kinda small.

Some of THE best local crabs you can buy. Crabs heavy and meaty seasoned great. Prices good depending. They fill your box in 1/2 bushels but really leave space the box could have more crabs inside which is why I'm guessing the prices are cheap. It was a steady amount of people coming in and out buying crabs. If you bring cash the prices are much cheaper. But overall I am satisfied with the crabs I would go back there again. read more

This was our first visit here but I can guarantee it won't be our last. We ordered a bushel of jumbo crabs and the quality was GREAT. I had a feeling we picked a great spot when the line was fairly long and by the conversations with the locals the line was considered shorter than the norm. I can't wait to go back to Maryland and make a stop here. If I lived closer I would definitely be a regular customer. I was informed this is a family owned business and the daughter runs the front end. She greetes us upon entering the establishment and rung us up. She offered my son a piece of candy which was very nice. The father took our order and said it would be a 15-20 minute wait which ended up being very precise. The owner's daughter came around and offered my son a popsicle while we waited for our order which I was surprised by the special accommodations at a takeout seafood market. Great customer service. Big fan of Seamarket! They don't take orders or answer the phone, so if you're willing to play the game (which I find fun), you can score a great deal on some quality crabs. They post their hours, prices, & availability for each crab size on their Facebook page. I usually go on the earlier end and I've never had a problem - but I know they do sellout, so you'll need to watch for updates if you head over later. Prices are decent, and they often have big sales after a big catch, especially later in the season. The crabs have been great every time I've gone. I usually grab a bushel of #1's. They are definitely on the larger side and very meaty. I had attended back-to-back crab parties one weekend and the ones from seamarket were way better than the ones my friend got from a vendor further south (closer to DC). read more

Sea market is not closed! They are open for business and they are absolutely wonderful! I went here to cater a huge crab feast and I was absolutely blown away by the amazing customer service and their no bs approach to their business they will answer all of your questions, explain their methods for on site steaming and work with you to figure out how much you should Order. You Follow them on Facebook, check for their daily deals, and then bring cash and go. There was no pre-ordering, but the entire exchange took less than ten minutes to cater to a 30 person party. The crabs were heavy and perfectly seasoned topped off with their wonderful employees helping me and my grandpa load up our truck and safely tucking away our order. Went for a half bushel of their #1's, they looked very small (5.01"). Got 3 dozen of their Large/Jumbo. Got home, some big ones on top, too many barely legal (5.01") down in the middle. After several years of enjoying crabs from Seamarket, I've come to the conclusion that their "sales" and inconsistent business hours, as well as their crab sizing and the amount that comes within a half bushel are not worth it to me. What they call a number one is an actual number 2 at most establishments and wholesalers. My last experience with Seamarket was last week when I purchased a half bushel of 1's live. After coming directly home and icing them down, the count came out to 30 crabs including 3 dead crabs. The same week, my girlfriend brought home a bushel of number 1's from a well known wholesaler. The bushel came out to contain 91 crabs. She was able to get 32 crabs in Seamarkets half bushel box. My only advice to others is to count the amount of crabs you receive when ordering your half bushel. read more

Originally, my coworker recommended SeaMarket back in early July, so I made the trip from Baltimore City to check it out (it's always nice to try a new place!). I have been back several times, always to be quickly greeted by courteous staff and a clean storefront (I have NEVER experienced a pungent seafood smell here, a typical indication of poor seafood handling). The crabs are sweet, heavy, and steamed/seasoned perfectly. They work hard at SeaMarket to bring their clientele the best quality possible. A nice perk is that they offer up-to-the-minute Facebook postings of crab availability (bring cash if you want the best deal!). I could not be happier having stumbled upon this great place. The crabs are good when you can get them but they screw around customers too much to do so. you're supposed to either live on their Facebook page , sit around and wait on their trucks to come in or buy them for breakfast( Sundays). today I kept waiting on their Facebook page for an hour and a half drive down immediately when they announce they have crabs only to be told they sold out. meanwhile one of their buddies walks out with three bushels. First time customer. Arrived with "marching orders" to purchase a "sampler" of Seamarket world-renowned "Maryland Crabs". Upon entering I met the gracious and kind staff who helped me navigate through the choices. After a few minutes I decided to go wth a dozen X-large jumbo. However, the staff informed of their special for two dozen X-large with only a few dollars difference. Being one that would not pass up a good deal... I agreed. Back at the ranch, I eagerly opened the box and was amazed at the size of the crabs... X-large to say the least. Now for the litmus test. As I meticulously openedup the crab I was pleasantly surprised to see how meaty and fresh it was and... when I took a bite of it...it was absolutely delicious!! Verdict simply "Awesome". I went online to SeaMarket Seafood's FaceBook page and was informed that they would be open at 9:00 AM,( Sunday July 26), and the had "too many crabs" and they were having a sale. When I went there after 12:00 PM, they were closed. Never again will I trust Seamarket and there FaceBook postings. By the time I inquired around to other places selling crabs, everyone was out of larger crabs. SeaMarket Seafood's postings are late and often inaccurate. The only other option was to stop at a place on the side of the road where they sell live crabs and steam them myself, (which is not what I wanted to do). Even that place had a phone number that I could call and find out what was available and was able to reserve them for me. While in line at this place that sells live crabs on the side of the road I happened to mention my problems with Seamarket Seafood and got an earful of complaints from three other customers about Seamarket that included: inaccurate or misleading FaceBook posts : several complaints about not getting the size crabs that they ordered, but, instead getting the crabs that were already steamed that they needed to get rid of: complaints that SeaMarket prices were not that good and neither were their crabs which were cooked previously and reheated which made them overcooked: and, generally not being dependable as to the availability, quality and accuracy. read more

I bought a 1/2 bushel of "#1" crabs the other day. 90% of them were light small crabs. The other 10% were fair and had a very good taste. I can only give 1 star because when you pay for a 1/2 bushel of crabs there is NO EXCUSE to have the majority of them to be light crabs. Especially when you are told that the crabs "are at a good stage". There seem to be no honest crab houses. If there are any left out there please tell me where they are located. Thanks. read more

I got two dozen live crabs which were 40 a doz. When I took them out to cook (3) were dead. The next day I went up and said three of my crabs were dead. She said that happens all the time, sorry. The way I looked at it I just lost 10.00 "oh well". They should of replaced the 3 crabs, so I am wondering if they cook dead crabs? read more

Not cheap, but worth the price! Good old fashioned Mom & Pop. The place is a dump, the crabs were fantastic! Bought 1 dozen regular and 1 dozen large/jumbo mixed. Next time won't waste the money on the mix. The regulars were just as heavy. I was very pleased! I will return! read more
