Came here off of a recommendation from a friend and boy did it exceed expectations. It is a small unassuming spot centered between a fork in the road. Parking is ample in the rear, with a couple of spots out front. They have a limited menu, but when you do something so well, that doesn't even matter! The chicken salad sandwich was the best I have ever had. Not overly creamy, just the right amount with plenty of flavor. The fresh greens and tomato in top was super fresh. The seeded buns were also top notch! I purchased two small steaks and cooked them up in the cast iron. It was undoubtedly the best steak I have ever had at home; it melted in my mouth! Just look at the marbling in the pictures. The meat at the store is some of the best quality I have seen and tasted. Such a fun hidden gem! We grabbed some sandwiches before heading over to Sandy Point, and then ended up coming back! I had the chicken salad sandwich - which was pretty tasty. My partner got the roast beef and I had a bit, honestly a little envious as I think I liked it more than the chicken salad. We also got a side of coleslaw, which was nice..less mayo-ey and more pickled style which I really liked. I was a bit bummed of the limited menu that day, seeing the other foods that people had got from online. It seems it's sort of the place that what they have, is it. Maybe less of an issue if you live near by? Got to sample some of their peanut butter - which was delicious! And ended up stopping by on the way back to get a container. Owner is SEXIST, RUDE & OVERPRICED The guy behind the counter was rude as soon as my mother and Aunt walked through the door. The seasoned bread he uses on sandwiches is as good as it gets. Roast beef sandwich is among the best I've ever had. Yes it's got a limited menu, yes it's pricey, yes the owner is a little socially awkward at first. Take a moment to talk to him you realize he's very cool. I'm also sure that what he is buying is not cheap for him to buy and inventory. If you don't want high end local meat he's not your choice. Best kept secret in Annapolis. This place is amazing. All the food is made from scratch: the meat, the bread, coleslaw, bone broth, they even ferment their own apple cider to put into their homemade mustard and mayonnaise. All their ingredients and meats are locally sourced, they only buy from local Maryland Farms, they even order their meats (pig, chicken, cow) whole and then make their own cuts, sausages, as well as cures their own meats. The owner is very kind and takes a lot of pride in his food and the quality of it, he was very informational about where the food comes from and how it's made. I got the barbacoa sandwich, which was one of the best sandwiches I've had in Annapolis. I was also able to buy several tubs of bone broth and natural dried beef liver dogs treats, which my dogs loved! This place reminds me of the fresh Farm-to-Table restaurants we have back home in Eugene, OR! To top it off, he has the sweetest dog named Bailey to greet you at the door. I LOVE THE UGLY PIG! This cute little charcuterie and delicatessen shop offers everything that is housemade, house-cured, and house-fermented! All the ingredients that they use are locally-sourced, and the pork and the chicken are non-GMO, pasture-raised, and are on a European diet model. Sandwiches include PB & J (with housemade PB), Bourguignon Aspic, etc., as well as other items such as country sausages, bone broths, lard, potato salads, and vegetable salads. The owner, George, was very welcoming and friendly - once he found out that it was our first time visiting, he shared how everything is made and their high focus on quality. We ordered: the PB & J (with homemade peanut butter and a choice of a homemade jam - we opted for the persimmon marmalade); a Probiotic Chicken Salad (the homemade basil mayo was out, which was fine with me; the Thyme-fermented celery was a wonderful pickled crunch that complemented well to the delicious chicken salad - this was yummy!); and, a Mango and Mole Chicken (made with boneless chicken that is marinaded in a homemade Filipino-style mango marinade). We also got a cup of their Split Pea soup - this was SO SO SO DELICIOUS!!! It was thick, creamy, hearty, and had chunks of ham; I could have literally drank gallons and gallons of this! If you're a lover of split pea soup, or if you've never been a fan, this will CHANGE YOUR LIFE! I can't wait to try out their other sandwiches, specials, and their meats, especially their breakfast sausages; George even stated that he's planning on offering gochujang and dwengjang - WHAT THE WHAT?! :D There are a couple of tables inside if you wanted to dine-in, but it seemed more of a carry-out type of a place. Stumbled upon this little shop after a day at the beach. They have a selection of meats, cheeses and peanut butter. They were only offering a few sandwiches, but we got one of the lamb and one roast beef. The meat and veggies on the sandwiches were incredibly fresh and the roll was delicious. Food is great. Just bought some burgers and they were probably the best we've ever had. However, every time we go there the owner is very cold and the interaction is very awkward and because of this, we're reluctant to go half of the time, and end up going elseware. Also, prices and selections are not clearly labeled at all. I get it, the product is good but people also like to know what the cost is. There is a white board with prices but handwriting is not legible and because the interaction with staff is so strange, I don't even bother to ask many questions. Be more friendly, type a daily menu with prices, and I guarantee business will improve drastically. read more

Went in for a sandwich and to order some prime rib for Christmas and left with some new knowledge about beef. I asked George what he might choose for a steak and left with an aged hanger steak. Cooked the next day with a little salt on the meat in a cast iron pan (finish with pepper per George ... a little pro tip) and I can say I just had the best cut of meat I have ever had. George is so passionate about making sure his food is farm to table and makes most of his foods (vinegars, peanut butter, broths, etc) from scratch. Additionally, he has gochujang and Korean sandwiches here in addition to ramen and soba (which are still in their initial stages of being perfected but is still a hearty and healthy broth to try) and is such a nice change from the generic food I'm usually surrounded with. George, the owner (though in truth Bailey his well behaved and lovable lab rules out front), is an encyclopedia of meat and a magician at providing the highest quality, select cuts you won't find even in upscale groceries. The cured duck breast is so easy to cook and life altering in flavor. The coppa will make you stop eating "pork chops." He made my daughter a peanut butter and honey sandwich on fresh warm bread. He makes his own duck and pork rillettes, country pate and chicken mousse, and once a year, makes a batch of kimchee. He's brilliant. Oh, the marble steak is unbelievable. I'm not a huge fan of aged beef, but if you are, you have a soulmate in George. Power to the Pig! read more

It is a tiny little place in a quiet neighborhood, and has very limited seating, but the atmosphere and the food makes up for all of that. Plus the staff, to include the sweet dog that hangs out is the cherry on top of the sundae. My daughter and I had the Korean Beef Sandwich and the Charcuterie Sandwich. We watched them pull the cured ham out and slice it to order for the sandwich and let me tell you... Those sandwiches were amazing. Just the right amount of meat and just a touch of honey. The serving wasn't huge, but it was definitely a good sized meal with the little cups of potato salad and the cole slaw. And while we ate, they brought out two little cups of freshly made Vietnamese chicken salad, which was perfect. The Korean beef sandwich was delicious and very filling. I stopped in as I hear a lot of folks do because I was stuck in traffic with my twins and they needed a restroom. The owner was beyond kind and generous with his space and offering us the facilities took some doing because he has a protective dog guarding the back of the house. My son, who has autism, is scared of dogs and the three of them did a beautiful dance of cooperation. I was there long enough to understand what a labor of love this place is and how committed he is to only local farm to table ingredients (and we were pretty close in our musical taste). I did not get food there because between us we have a ton of food-based allergies but I have decided to return as soon as possible and sample the menu. I don't get the excellent reviews on this place. Myself and a couple others from work went there last year because we saw good reviews. First you walk in this place and it looks like someone's living room who didn't know you were coming and didn't clean up. Then when we ordered, it was the same scenario, as if they didn't expect people to come in and order food. On the the very limited menu they had written on the board, they were out of three things we tried to order. Then they acted like they hadn't prepared food before. The whole kitchen setup looked disorganized. Felt like we should have just turned away when seeing the interior and menu. I like DIVES, but a dive has to be compelling in its atmosphere, food or relationships with staff/clientele. We got 3 sandwiches and a couple sides to share and it was over $50 for take out. Small dry speck sandwiches, broccoli salad ( a la Eastern Shore type) that we make much better at home, meh potato salad. I left with two thoughts: 1. I was embarrassed that I asked my co-workers to come to this place that I saw had excellent reviews and then have them waste an inordinate amount of money for lunch. I felt so bad I prepared several meals at home to bring in to work for lunches later in the next few weeks. 2. You must eat here! The food is absolutely delicious! The owners get very creative with their food and it is outstanding. They make everything in house! My mom had a strawberry and jalapeño jam PB&J. They also make their own peanut butter and create fun combinations like peanut butter and bacon. How cool is that? This is just scratching the surface of their fun and delicious creations. The owners are so friendly and make their customers feel right at home. Say hi to Bailey for us!
