Very flavorful meat, but bit overdone, but that seemed to be the exception rather than the rule

Pip's is awesome!!…read more My go-to sandwich here is a Chicken Cheesesteak. Get it with grilled onions, red hots, cooper Sharp white American, lettuce and mayo... you will not be disappointed!!! Also, of course... a standard cheese steak is excellent. They now have Philly long peppers as an option (Anaheim) for cheesesteaks as Pip's stays on top of all the sandwich trends to bring them to you in downtown Annapolis! They have COOPER SHARP! on the menu for my go-to cheese choice. The dogs are great as well, but I just can't overlook a cheesesteak when I hit Pip's. This is an old school order at the counter place where they are shouting the order to the guy on the grill as you're placing it. Service is quick and don't overlook the call ahead ordering option! Sometimes parking downtown is annoying... call in your order. By the time you find a spot and walk to Pip's, your order will be waiting.

Prices were fair and service was great. The hotdog was beef and has a great color and was crisp, hot, was put on a Texas toast type of split bun that was toasted. It was DELICIOUS! The fries were fleshy and you get a bag worth of you order to go. Good size fries (fries boogie here) and the toppings that were so MD was liquid obay sauce "like yes!" . We love hotdogs and having a snap when you bite into it a MUST! Pips is a local joint and did not disappoint. Walking distance to many shops and all the toppings you need. It's a small shop and everything is prepared to order so be prepared to have a little wait. There is some seating outside and a small bar top inside the shop. They also have cheesesteaks and many more items for your pleasure. I will DEF be back and the owners are super hospitality and just nice humans-please please go check them out! "Real testimony"!

Great size, minimal filler, delicious taste...everything you look for in a good crab cake. I've also had their fries, fried shrimp, pickles, and Caesar salad. One thing, I'd prefer a little less onions and more meat. My boyfriend got the hot pastrami and inhaled it- five stars for that. We also both got a fancy milkshake, but because it was to go, it was deconstructed so the baked goods wouldn't fall off. I had the black and white cookie milkshake. To be honest the shakes are nothing special though they are good! but that cookie was unreal. It was massive, soft, and just perfect. Same comment for the strawberry milkshake- the shake was fine but the donut was amazing! It wasn't greasy at all and so satisfying. We'll definitely return, but would probably choose to get a sandwich and some baked goods next time (they all looked gorgeous!)

Lot's of mayo with very little celery. It was also lacking flavor. I wouldn't order that again. I was satisfied with the lobster grilled cheese on texas toast. Very good with the right amount of lobster. This was all ordered online and pre-paid. Parking could be a challenge. Luckily we came on a Sunday so it was less of a crowd. Found a spot to quickly pull behind just to pick up the food. Annapolis is a busy area. Especially on a Friday or Saturday. Just make sure if you order to go. That you pre-check your order. In addition to the lobster rolls there's several sides available. Complementary self-serve water is available. I like that the restaurant staff carefully prepares your order, not just slapping things together, even though that takes a bit of time. I ordered the Classical Lobster Roll. It was perfection and so delish. Served in a tasty lightly toasted and buttered bun. The hefty lobster serving comes with a dash of mayo. I'll be back again and again for Mason's lobster rolls. The poke was good, with a great selection of sides and toppings to customize your bowl. Prices were reasonable for the quality, and the portions felt fair. So, when we saw this restaurant in Annapolis, we knew we had to give it a try. We were fortunate to find parking nearby, which is always a bonus in downtown Annapolis! When we walked into the restaurant, the gentleman at the counter greeted us promptly. We had not done any research about the layout prior, so we were surprised to see it was counter service, and not a sit down restaurant. However, that was fine. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. My husband ordered The Loco moco and he said it was very good. The egg was prepared perfectly, and it was a decent portion. He probably could've eaten a larger portion, however :-) I ordered a poke bowl with tuna and crab salad. I topped it with sunflower seeds, edamame, and an avocado lime sauce. It was delicious! The flavors melted very well together and the portion was just right. However, next time I think I will get the larger size so I have some to take home! We will definitely be back again because the menu has a lot of different stuff on it that we would like to try. If you're looking for a different kind of restaurant with something unique for this area, you should definitely check it out. It was also very affordable.

So we walk in Sammy's and my husband and I are impressed by the pickles and hot sauce varieties. We didn't plan to order food, yet as a foodie I love specialty shops and always patronize them. This one was no different, although I regret doing so. At first the woman (who I imagine is the owner) seemed personable she asked all the customers to let her know if they needed help and she was smiling and all, but for whatever reason that changed after we got to the register to pay. She then became very condescending, rude and uptight. She asked a multitude of questions like for instance she asked what brings us to Annapolis. I told her we always visit and she says well you picked a busy day to come, like I made a poor choice in visiting or something, like we shouldn't be there. I thought to myself, um, did you not here me, I always come to the area, therefore I know it's busy, ALL THE TIME..it's been that way since forever in Annapolis. Then she just kept going on about our purchase saying we made good choices..like she literally said "oh you made good choices..you made good choices. Her tone sounded to me as if she was surprised that our pallet was sophisticated enough to get truffle chips and hot sauce and garlic dill pickles; like give me a break. She then asks my husband if he likes cheese. He says no but my wife does, she is the cheese expert. She didn't say another word, she did not crack a smile nor engage me in any way after he said that. As a store owner that would have been the perfect opportunity to sell me on cheese or whatever it was that you thought you needed to ask him that for. Finally even after all this, I asked her if she had a tip jar because I was going to tip my change (approximately $3.xx). She said no, I don't take tips, I just want you to go home and enjoy your purchase-as if she was too good or prideful to take MY money and wanted us to leave the store. I guess black families who love on each other and their children, who travel an hr away from home to visit downtown Annapolis are foreign to her and/or rub her the wrong way. And wouldn't you know as I am leaving I saw a tip bucket on the counter. Go figure. My husband and I discussed our visit and he informed me that while I was off doing another final lap of the store she had asked him if he was hungry and he said no...so maybe that's why she was mad-that we didn't get her food. He said she had a look as if to say then what are you doing here. Terrible. And I know from reading this it seems like she asked basic questions, but it is one of those you had to be there conversations; her tone, lack of eye contact and all made for a very uncomfortable experience. One thing is for certain, I will never patronize this store again and for anyone reading this and the other reviews, believe the ones that say these people are mean and rude because they certainly are.
