Very flavorful meat, but bit overdone, but that seemed to be the exception rather than the rule

I always get the seeded roll and I always add red hots. BOTH are awesome... that seeded roll is the bomb and they add a healthy spread of spicy red hots which I love. All the portions of everything was perfect. * NOTE - They have a sign saying they are open until 2:30AM on weekends, but I came by at 2:AM and was told "PASTA ONLY, we're shutting down the sub line..." We don't come here for pasta. We come for sandwiches. If you can't serve one at 2:30AM, close earlier. What's the point? Who leaves a bar at 2:AM and thinks about a reheated slab of pasta? I can get that at home. Make me a cheeesesteak!! For my Italian and my Capo special, I asked for hot peppers and got an appropriate healthy portion. It had just enough onions on it for flavor but not so I tasted bites of onion. The fresh high quality cold cut meat flavors came through great. Both sandwiches were superb. I personally liked the Italian better, but if you're a true lover of Italian meats you have to get the Capo Special. The Cheesesteak is also legit. I had it once with Prov and once with American. Even though the provolone has a nice cheese pull, I do prefer American on a cheesesteak. I like my steaks with just cheese, onions and red hots. If you like it that way you have to order the standard steak and say "no peppers, add red-hots." By default they put peppers on it. There are several sandwiches I still want to try, in addition to some pasta dishes they have. However, I think my next sammy will be the Roast Pork or the Meatball sub. * The only downside is the price. A large sandwich on a seeded roll will cost you $18ish, plus tip, which is $21 for a sandwich. That is a lot. However, the small (half?) sandwich is $14.50 so you might as well get the large and take half home even if you are not finishing it. It'd be cool if they had a sandwich of the day on special, so you could get a large for $15 or something. But they do not. That said, maybe you get what you pay for with price because the sandwich is QUALITY and it is CONSISTENT. I have eaten there when the owner is present or late night when it's just younger staff working. Sandwiches have been the same both times. There is good training and appreciation for quality. I hope that stays. If the quality stays I'll keep coming back. They need to add some accessible napkins, water and bottles of hot sauce. A few misses that would make my visit more comfortable. They can also offer "For Here" or "To Go" options. They make everything to go which means they at least waste a bag each time I eat in house. If they're closed or crowded, don't overlook the OGs- The Big Cheese for another great Italian in town or Pip's for a cheesesteak. Not to take anything away from CAPO though! They have both sammies and you won't be disappointed. Just saw that they are now open until 2:30AM on Friday and Saturday! That is awesome. We now have TWO late night food stops in town; Capo and Secret Spot Pizza.

And one of the first things you see when you walk in is their glass case with various pastries. Dang, I'm in trouble! The all look so good! Then, there is the menu. Wow! They offer a lot of different options. After a quick review, I knew I wanted breakfast, so I ordered a simple Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on a Bagel. It was great! And during this whole experience, we had really good service ... checking up on us regularly. But wait, I'm not done yet. You see, I order the BEC on a bagel for a reason. I wanted to make sure I had room for one of their delicious pastries. And they had one of my favorites ... apple fritter. Oh man! It was soo good! I was bouncing off the walls with all that sugar in my system, but it was worth it! Looking forward to returning and trying more items on the menu.

That said, I didn't feel interrupted by the conversation of the folks next to us but the guy's elbow bumped me a couple times. We were basically shoulder to shoulder with the barrier between our food. More food. Given their penchant for super sized foods, I thought the default sandwich would be bigger. It wasn't bad but it was kind of skimpy. And it didn't come with anything. I got the jumbo fries and my nephew and I finished them with no trouble. More flavor. Yeah, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great! A Reuben should be really powerful with all the different flavors but this turkey Reuben was a bit muted. I joked that I would try to challenge menu but I would need to taste the food first to make sure I liked it. I think I could have met the challenge but I don't think I would have enjoyed it.

There is some seating outdoors, a good amount of seats indoors and bar seating. For a table for 3, it would have been about a 25 minute wait but there was plenty of seating at the bar open so we opted for that. I don't believe they take reservations. Bartender was great and service was fast. Ordered a couple of beers and for food, we opted for the Honey Old Bay Wings, the Crab Cake Grilled Cheese and the Slammin' Salmon. Everything came out fairly quickly. The wings were amazing! Very tender and hot and the Honey Old Bay Ratio was perfect. I loved my Slammin' Salmon sandwich and the Crab Cake Grilled Cheese was also good. The portions were large and we had a great time here. Would definitely recommend coming!

On a good weather day you can eat inside or out as they put tables outside for more customers. They have a small sports bar if you want to watch the game but most of the seating is for lower tables. There are not a ton of tables so on busy days we recommend coming earlier than you think. Service is always on point. We have been served by repeat waiters/waitresses as well as the owner of the place many times over our visits. And if you need something you can always call over a nearby waiter. The food is also good. We recommend upgrading to the onion rings which may be the best we've ever had. We also love the dry rub wings which always come out hot and fresh. The slammin salmon and the aloha chicken are our absolute go tos and they are always delicious. You can even ask for them on Brioche or as a wrap. All in all we love this place and continue to make it a staple when we are close by and even when we aren't!

The poke was good, with a great selection of sides and toppings to customize your bowl. Prices were reasonable for the quality, and the portions felt fair. So, when we saw this restaurant in Annapolis, we knew we had to give it a try. We were fortunate to find parking nearby, which is always a bonus in downtown Annapolis! When we walked into the restaurant, the gentleman at the counter greeted us promptly. We had not done any research about the layout prior, so we were surprised to see it was counter service, and not a sit down restaurant. However, that was fine. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. My husband ordered The Loco moco and he said it was very good. The egg was prepared perfectly, and it was a decent portion. He probably could've eaten a larger portion, however :-) I ordered a poke bowl with tuna and crab salad. I topped it with sunflower seeds, edamame, and an avocado lime sauce. It was delicious! The flavors melted very well together and the portion was just right. However, next time I think I will get the larger size so I have some to take home! We will definitely be back again because the menu has a lot of different stuff on it that we would like to try. If you're looking for a different kind of restaurant with something unique for this area, you should definitely check it out. It was also very affordable.

So we walk in Sammy's and my husband and I are impressed by the pickles and hot sauce varieties. We didn't plan to order food, yet as a foodie I love specialty shops and always patronize them. This one was no different, although I regret doing so. At first the woman (who I imagine is the owner) seemed personable she asked all the customers to let her know if they needed help and she was smiling and all, but for whatever reason that changed after we got to the register to pay. She then became very condescending, rude and uptight. She asked a multitude of questions like for instance she asked what brings us to Annapolis. I told her we always visit and she says well you picked a busy day to come, like I made a poor choice in visiting or something, like we shouldn't be there. I thought to myself, um, did you not here me, I always come to the area, therefore I know it's busy, ALL THE TIME..it's been that way since forever in Annapolis. Then she just kept going on about our purchase saying we made good choices..like she literally said "oh you made good choices..you made good choices. Her tone sounded to me as if she was surprised that our pallet was sophisticated enough to get truffle chips and hot sauce and garlic dill pickles; like give me a break. She then asks my husband if he likes cheese. He says no but my wife does, she is the cheese expert. She didn't say another word, she did not crack a smile nor engage me in any way after he said that. As a store owner that would have been the perfect opportunity to sell me on cheese or whatever it was that you thought you needed to ask him that for. Finally even after all this, I asked her if she had a tip jar because I was going to tip my change (approximately $3.xx). She said no, I don't take tips, I just want you to go home and enjoy your purchase-as if she was too good or prideful to take MY money and wanted us to leave the store. I guess black families who love on each other and their children, who travel an hr away from home to visit downtown Annapolis are foreign to her and/or rub her the wrong way. And wouldn't you know as I am leaving I saw a tip bucket on the counter. Go figure. My husband and I discussed our visit and he informed me that while I was off doing another final lap of the store she had asked him if he was hungry and he said no...so maybe that's why she was mad-that we didn't get her food. He said she had a look as if to say then what are you doing here. Terrible. And I know from reading this it seems like she asked basic questions, but it is one of those you had to be there conversations; her tone, lack of eye contact and all made for a very uncomfortable experience. One thing is for certain, I will never patronize this store again and for anyone reading this and the other reviews, believe the ones that say these people are mean and rude because they certainly are.
