This guy s truly a family owned business. Mom is cooking, pops taking orders and the son moving things around the shop. Open early and closes early. Not much more than good home cooked sandwiches and eggs. Nothing fancy put the food is fresh and tasty. The store is clean and the employees are super friendly.

Was in town for business meetings and was looking for a place for breakfast that wasn't in my hotel. Found this place in Yelp and it was a short walk from my hotel. The value of this place is very high. Lots of food for a very reasonable price. But the ambiance is pretty low. A real hole in the wall. I don't mind low brown places, but this place is really simple. 3 tables and a counter. That's it for seating. Most of the people who came in while I was there seemed to be locals and they took their food to go. My western omelette was very good. The rye toast was also good. The breakfast potatoes were only so-so. But I was very full when I left. Overall, this is a situation where it is fine if you know what to expect, but may be a negative if you were expecting a diner-style eatery. For example, I ate there and got my food on a cafeteria tray with plastic utensils. If you know that's what you are going to get, you should be ok with that. But if you were expecting at least table service with metal utensils, this would be a downer. In summary, a good value, decent food and quantity. But zero ambiance.

This place rules. Years and years I've walked by it as I grew up here and decided to go for a solo lunch while in town visiting family. It is the last bastion of a fading type of eatery. A homely American style greasy spoon diner run by a husband and wife who are so nice and welcoming. I got the Rueben for lunch and a cup of ginseng tea to warm up. I will go back for breakfast before I leave. Just putting this out into the world: if this place served homestyle Korean food in addition to their regular diner menu it would be an absolute slam dunk of a gem.

Great little hidden gem for lunch. It may look pretty but it is a great option for well priced food in the area. Husband and wife team, they are very kind. I got a cheeseburger/fries/soda for $7.50. An absolute steal for lunch. I work across the street and have recommended it to all my coworkers.

I've came here a long time ago not feeling well and they gave me a tea and I believe a soup so friendly and I noticed everything was so reasonably priced. I came back and same nice establishment patrons know by name and they address by name. Very welcoming and friendly. I was recommended the chicken cheese steak and it was amazing. The price !!! Yes would love if this were in every city but this little gem is a good place to have

I absolutely LOVED this place! A fantastic little old school diner/corner store. An older couple run the whole operation; the man taking orders/running register and the lady operates the old school grill. They are open for breakfast, lunch, & dinner with a surprising array of choices. I never expect to find scrapple outside of PA, but they have it here! Their meal combos are more suggestions, as they do things any way you request! Very friendly, polite, & speedy service! Incredibly reasonable prices and immaculately clean, even for this old of a diner. You can get takeout or dine in, beer, lotto, cigarettes, snacks & beverages. If I'm in Annapolis again, I will DEFINITELY come back here!

Couldn't be happier to have this place nearby. Excellent prices and service. Reuben might be the best I've ever had.

Local deli with a large following. Reasonable prices for standard deli food. Open for breakfast. I like All American Cold Cut.

This place has a lot of character. When you first walk in, you get an old school diner vibe …read more.. which I love. And one of the first things you see when you walk in is their glass case with various pastries. Dang, I'm in trouble! The all look so good! Then, there is the menu. Wow! They offer a lot of different options. After a quick review, I knew I wanted breakfast, so I ordered a simple Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on a Bagel. It was great! And during this whole experience, we had really good service ... checking up on us regularly. But wait, I'm not done yet. You see, I order the BEC on a bagel for a reason. I wanted to make sure I had room for one of their delicious pastries. And they had one of my favorites ... apple fritter. Oh man! It was soo good! I was bouncing off the walls with all that sugar in my system, but it was worth it! Looking forward to returning and trying more items on the menu.

M'eh. This place has…read morebeen on my list for years but this was my first visit. I was expecting so much more. More space. The tables and booths are very tight. That said, I didn't feel interrupted by the conversation of the folks next to us but the guy's elbow bumped me a couple times. We were basically shoulder to shoulder with the barrier between our food. More food. Given their penchant for super sized foods, I thought the default sandwich would be bigger. It wasn't bad but it was kind of skimpy. And it didn't come with anything. I got the jumbo fries and my nephew and I finished them with no trouble. More flavor. Yeah, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great! A Reuben should be really powerful with all the different flavors but this turkey Reuben was a bit muted. I joked that I would try to challenge menu but I would need to taste the food first to make sure I liked it. I think I could have met the challenge but I don't think I would have enjoyed it.

Stopped by Sammy's Deli while taking in the weather in downtown Annapolis-my little loves coming…read morehere to dine, get ice cream and just walk the area-she says it's her favorite place and always tells people how it's the capital of MD, lol. So we walk in Sammy's and my husband and I are impressed by the pickles and hot sauce varieties. We didn't plan to order food, yet as a foodie I love specialty shops and always patronize them. This one was no different, although I regret doing so. At first the woman (who I imagine is the owner) seemed personable she asked all the customers to let her know if they needed help and she was smiling and all, but for whatever reason that changed after we got to the register to pay. She then became very condescending, rude and uptight. She asked a multitude of questions like for instance she asked what brings us to Annapolis. I told her we always visit and she says well you picked a busy day to come, like I made a poor choice in visiting or something, like we shouldn't be there. I thought to myself, um, did you not here me, I always come to the area, therefore I know it's busy, ALL THE TIME..it's been that way since forever in Annapolis. Then she just kept going on about our purchase saying we made good choices..like she literally said "oh you made good choices..you made good choices. Her tone sounded to me as if she was surprised that our pallet was sophisticated enough to get truffle chips and hot sauce and garlic dill pickles; like give me a break. She then asks my husband if he likes cheese. He says no but my wife does, she is the cheese expert. She didn't say another word, she did not crack a smile nor engage me in any way after he said that. As a store owner that would have been the perfect opportunity to sell me on cheese or whatever it was that you thought you needed to ask him that for. Finally even after all this, I asked her if she had a tip jar because I was going to tip my change (approximately $3.xx). She said no, I don't take tips, I just want you to go home and enjoy your purchase-as if she was too good or prideful to take MY money and wanted us to leave the store. I guess black families who love on each other and their children, who travel an hr away from home to visit downtown Annapolis are foreign to her and/or rub her the wrong way. And wouldn't you know as I am leaving I saw a tip bucket on the counter. Go figure. My husband and I discussed our visit and he informed me that while I was off doing another final lap of the store she had asked him if he was hungry and he said no...so maybe that's why she was mad-that we didn't get her food. He said she had a look as if to say then what are you doing here. Terrible. And I know from reading this it seems like she asked basic questions, but it is one of those you had to be there conversations; her tone, lack of eye contact and all made for a very uncomfortable experience. One thing is for certain, I will never patronize this store again and for anyone reading this and the other reviews, believe the ones that say these people are mean and rude because they certainly are.
