They have implemented all of the pandemic protocols, including one way signs in the aisles. I observed personnel sanitizing the belts at the checkout. They were pretty well stocked, including chicken and meat--plenty of paper towels but no TP. The checkout person in the lane we chose was a young man who was not very pleasant or talkative, and he forgot to deduct for the two store coupons I had given him. The customer service cashier Kate, was able to not only refund me the money, but gave me additional Giant gas points and a store credit to use for later. They asked me to step to the side & wait. So then they said they did not have the right size but would fill it with a larger tube of the cream. They told me to walk around and come back in 15 minutes, which I did. I was looking for a couple of food items but could not find either one. The store was freezing. I finally got checked out with my Rx. Then I stopped at the Safeway gas station out front--they had the slowest pumps I have encountered in years. Nope, never again.

I was also thrilled to see the 8 gal. lavender purple insulted bag, and not only the regional Maryland state reusable bag, but also the regional Delaware state reusable bag to add to my TJ bag collection! My cashier (W, Jordan per my receipt) was a friendly young man who was helpful in pointing out the 'Diamond State' Delaware reusable bag when I told him I wanted to also purchase a couple of bags with my treats. My husband and I stopped by Whole Foods for a few groceries. Because we had parked on the lower…read morelevel, he took the escalator back to our car, while I used the stairs. When his cart arrived below it fell over, thus causing him to fall on top of the cart. Because there is no way for a customer to stop the escalator at the bottom, the woman directly behind him and her cart fell on top of my husband! We all yelled "help" to stop the stairs. While employees did come to our assistance--and fortunately no one was injured--I discovered upon returning to the store the following: Tostop the escalator if there is a mishap, an employee (if they are within earshot) can come down the stairs and turn a key. When I expressed my dismay to the manager, Cynthia, I was told me there was "nothing she could do about it" and "no one got hurt anyway". Her attitude was dismissive and almost argumentative. I replied I wanted to speak with her directly to put better safety standards in place, rather than post on social media. She replied, "People can post whatever they want." I do not believe this level of customer service is anywhere near acceptable. The escalator is a potential danger. Escalators that carry groceries only (such as those in Target) are far safer. Had the Whole Foods escalator been full, many people--including seniors and children--could have been injured. This is a safety hazard that management should address with concern and empathy--not just dismiss.

Not only unprofessional, but clearly no consideration for the customers. By the produce department, there were pieces of vegetation everywhere (cherries smashed into the floor, etc.). Disgusting. There is always a very strong aroma around the seafood department. Good seafood has no smell. I cannot ever see myself buying from this department. Lastly, my dad nearly slipped and fell by the milk due to a huge puddle. He reported this, but the checkout clerk merely shouted it at a passing colleague, who just shrugged her shoulders. I only stop off here if I absolutely have to. There is a new Giant just down the road that is much nicer. Also, this isn't my normal shopping area, save the liquor store, which makes this a convenient location on rare occasions. Otherwise, I avoid this place entirely.
