I love to stop into a local Trader Joe's whenever I'm visiting a new city. Luckily, I was in Annapolis, Maryland today and was fortunate to find this large Trader Joe's location. It's so clean and spacious! I've found that Trader Joe's takes time to keep their stores well stocked and organized, and this location stands true. I was limited on time, but I picked up some favorite treats and some new recommendations, too. Looking forward to trying the Authentic Lemon Curd, Coconut Cashew Candy Clusters, and the Strawberry Brioche Style Liege Waffles! I've heard great reviews! I was also thrilled to see the 8 gal. lavender purple insulted bag, and not only the regional Maryland state reusable bag, but also the regional Delaware state reusable bag to add to my TJ bag collection! Score! My cashier (W, Jordan per my receipt) was a friendly young man who was helpful in pointing out the 'Diamond State' Delaware reusable bag when I told him I wanted to also purchase a couple of bags with my treats. I like how TJ's offers the reusable bag for adjacent states. Perfect for collectors like myself. I'm grateful to my cashier for taking time to properly bag my new treats. I've decided to review this TJ's again as I believe it's gotten worse over the last 5 years. The density of customers is overwhelming no matter what time of day, or what day of the week you go. Don't go with the intention to find any of your favorite TJ products because they're probably out of stock. What used to be a great trip w great food has turned into an anxiety fueled nightmare where i leave with an empty basket. It's not the employees fault, we need another/more TJ's. I slowly have stopped shopping here because of how stressful it is. read more

I love me some Trader Joe's!!. Yes I'm a fan of this store. I'll look to visit Tradevious no matter what state Im in! I love that Trader Joe's always have new products every month. I also enjoy watching youtube content creators showing thier new items. Since I was in Annapolis, I decided to see if this store had the baked lemon ricotta cheese that people say taste like cheesecake and they only offer during the holidays. Upon arrival, I noticed that the outside appearance was under construction, however they offered plenty of parking. Typical crowded store that would leave you over stimulated, long lines, bells ringing, store clerks stocking shelves in chaos, nothing unusual for Trader Joe's. Most of the stars are for the awesome employees otherwise, we will try again when it's not so busy. This was my husband's first visit to Trader Joe's and I haven't been in years. The parking is ample and I love the tons of cut and potted flowers by the entrance. Although there were tons of shoppers, the staff was easily keeping up with the demand and restocking. We thought the store would be larger but it had everything we needed. It was a little confusing and could use signage for the aisles. One star lost for the lack of signs. We will be back and I can't wait to see how everything flows when there aren't a lot of customers. read more

I'm not sure what all the hype is about with Trader Joe's. I personally enjoy recreating dishes we like when eating out, however Trader Joe's seemed more like a lot of premade frozen foods... Don't get it twisted-I may check in a lot with Yelp, but your girl gets down in the kitchen! Ask my hunnie!! ;-) I was just taking a quick break....long break...lol Anyhoo- if Trader Joe's is your thing- more power to you. They had a good selection of fresh fruits, veggies and cheeses...the locations is Virginia sell WINE...other than that- I'd rather find myself venturing the aisles of Whole Foods or Wegmans. Not going to lie, I think TJ is overhyped. A lot of processed foods, they're alllllways packed, chaos seems to follow you in the door. One gem that I do frequent from here is their unscented body butter, and when I do need them, I buy them by the twos with hopes.. to not return fairly soon. For others, I do have a friend that frequents their flower section, and frequents them weekly. Nothing with the staff or anything specific; just, underwhelming for me personally. read more

TJ's is my favorite grocery store yes; it's always crowded but it's worth it. I'm obsessed with the "Tarte d'Alsace", the French style flat bread with ham, caramelized onions and Gruyere cheese. I love the seasonal "Enchanted Jangle." TJ's makes it easy and fun to eat low carb cauliflower gnocchi, mango jicama slaw, eggwich sandwiches, and pomodoro pasta sauce to name a few. I love the Brussel sprout stalks just in time for the holidays. read more

Such a busy location and parking lot accomodates the large volume! Great team on this site and appreciate that employees take the time to walk you to the product than merely telling you where it is. Most items I came for were in stock. I do miss items that are available in other stores, but understand the regional variances. I met Logan here during my visit and he was stellar! While check out he kept conversation with a smile. No expectation here, but certainly he was pleasant. Sundays and Mondays are a zoo here :-) read more

5 stars because the people that work there really care about doing a great job and they are very helpful and pleasant. But if you shop at this location, it's the customers you have to worry about. They run about with their carts like they're at some kind of NASCAR event. They will go in whatever direction they feel like. Front or back, back to front left or right , right to left with no regard to any people's bodies. Many times I've seen near collisions but on this particular day 4 days before Christmas I really felt like somebody was going to get hurt in there so I didn't stay long lol. Same with the parking lot. Crosswalks don't mean anything to these shoppers. That's the only thing I would worry about here. The place is well stocked. And as with all Trader Joe's, the quality of products that you receive is very good. Today's visit was for unique Christmas desserts. The kind that you don't find in the regular supermarket. just a seasonal quick tip for in-store christmas music: always seems bonkers in here around the holidays, but when I was in, the crowd was tempered with probably the kitschiest holiday music I've experienced this year. Think carols played by a Dixie-land horn band, or some deep, 1970's Yuletide song with real NYC-type saxophone --The kind of song that probably inspired the Dead Kennedy's song "New York's Alright, If You Like Saxophones." Take that how you will, just be prepared before you walk in ...if you have a sensitivity to this sort of thing. on a side-note, they were all out of the dark chocolate lovers bar, but I'm still giving 5 stars, since the purpose of this seasonal mini-review is more to critique the in-store music. read more

I love this store! They are limiting entry during COVID19 so expect to wait a few minutes outside, masks required. No biggie the line moved fast and we were there on a Sunday afternoon. The store is laid out well and selections are good.. Reasonably priced too. The produce is fresh quality, no fruit flies, yahoo! My favorite items are the pre packaged spinach salad, corn bread mix is to die for, awesome chocolate cake, bacon chip dip and beef bulgogi. There's so much more, oh yes and an impressive floral section. The employees are always helpful and smiling. What a well run place! read more

Bottom Line: A small grocery store in Annapolis Plaza with awesome products but always packed full of people. Trader Joe's sells some delicious products and that is what keeps this store in my grocery rotation. Also, they have a great cheese selection at great prices. No matter when I visit, this store is always busy! Even on a Monday morning when I think people are at work and school it is busy. Sigh. Because of my frustration with the congestion in the store I don't go more often. Sometimes I feel like I can only slow my cart down enough to throw what I need in the basket - no stopping! Recently my husband and I decided to come up with our top ten list of items we love from Trader Joe's. We agreed the number one item is $8 Kringles from the O&H Bakery in Racine, WI but beyond that we couldn't agree! Here are some of my favorite go-to items many of which also make the Top 25 list in various articles: Produce: - Fully cooked beets that are salad ready - Mixed bag of colored baby potatoes - Mixed bag of red, yellow and orange little bell peppers Meat: -Carne Asada Frozen: - Carmelized Onion Feta Pastry Bites (my #2 favorite item at TJs) - Mushroom truffle flatbread Dairy: - TJs Greek style yogurt and especially the pumpkin flavor in the fall - Cheese, any cheese, all of the cheeses! Fresh moz, goat cheese crumbles, feta crumbles and Colby Jack slices are always on my list - Belgian chocolate pudding - Bacon Cheddar Dip for my Dad; Carmelized Onion Dip for myself (and I don't even like dips) Other: - Pantry items like beans, corn, Israel Couscous, faro and quinoa - "This _(insert fruit)_ Walks Into a Bar" cereal bars - Fig are my favorite flavor - Little chocolate chip cookies and the dunker shaped ones too - Greeting cards. Revisited: I went early on a Saturday to find amazing Trader Joe's staff: Corrine & Allison to assist in my wanderlust search! Corrine eagerly went far and beyond to show me around the store & point out some of the great products that people have come to love. Admittedly, I was slow to come around, but -after some due diligent research, online to see "what it's giving" coupled with a customers enthusiasm, & outstanding service by the aforementioned team members; "I've been redeemed" I left out with a greater product knowledge & respect for their frozen meals & pricing. They have a good variety of cheeses, triple milled Bries, smoked goudas, machengos, munsters, blue & goat, along with your usual suspects & a few stinky's if you're o to that sort of thing.... I went in for herbs, and came out with carrot juice, pico di gallo, zatar spice, d add one greens & scallion pancakes* -which I had not found anywhere else*- & didn't feel like making from scratch. Also, I learned produce isn't weighed- so there's that take away on the bottom line. I will get around to my in store notes but I just wanted to ring the bell & offer a rosemary herb plant for my tardiness to the luau. read more

This is my go-to for most of my food shopping. This location, as most Trader Joe's locations are, is a very busy store. The crew is on top of restocking and is equally helpful in answering questions. Check out is fast, but the lines are long. Unlike Aldi, your loot is placed into sturdy brown paper grocery bags w handles, and the bags are awesome for your recycling needs at home. Frozen foods are good. You should check the unique frozen pizzas! Produce is abundant, cheese selection is great, and there are many unique food offerings and seasonings. Prices are below the 'usual' grocery stores in the area. Note: This particular store's shopping cart location is backward. The cars should be moved to the RIGHT SIDE of the entrance outside. The current location for the carts creates traffic jams for people trying to leave and those trying to enter. Patience with your fellow shoppers is recommended, even those who dead stop in the already crowded entrance with their carts to browse the flowers. Overall, this store is well run, and the team members are a happy and cordial group! read more

I've been visiting this location for a few years now. It's not a store in my regular rotation, but I like to visit when I find myself in Annapolis. It's a small store packed with products that I wish I just had the patience to browse. I mention patience because the store is always overflowing with people and their carts. Its' literally so busy in there. I don't dare get a cart and always pick up a basket. The lines can get so backed up that you cannot browse in the freezer areas. The #1 item that I HAVE to get in this store is the eucalyptus in the floral area. I love it! Makes my house smell amazing. I'm assuming others pick it up for the same reason because they usually only ever have about 2-3 to pick from. Give us more eucalyptus Trader Joe's please! read more

It's great to have a Trader Joe's in Annapolis. I remember when it first came to the neighborhood and how excited we were. Now, I'm still excited to shop there, and I honestly don't go as often as I should. For one thing, the prices are, in many cases, lower than you would find in the main grocery stores. In some of those same cases, the quality you get in return is as good if not better. That's already a huge win off the bat. Another great reason to shop here is the larger selection of organic and specialty grocery items and ingredients. I can always count on TJ's to have a wide selection of organic produce, dairy products, meats, and so on. They go a great job with keeping some general 'health food' essentials on hand as well. They always have samples of some neat ingredients and food items in the back, along with a coffee sample or other beverage. I don't NEED to be bribed to try your triple-creme cheese, but if you INSIST that I take a sample... The staff has always been really friendly and knowledgeable as well. I know I can always ask one of them if I need to find a specific item. And they usually have a smile walking around, one that doesn't seem affected. I think they really enjoy their jobs. The checkout process is typically very quick, since they tend to staff almost every register each time I've been. The lines have never been more than one person deep, at least that's my recollection. This last visit it was a very short time from arrival to actual checkout. If I had to complain, and what really costs it a star, is the near constant spotting of insects hovering over the produce section. I can almost guarantee that one little fruit fly or other bug will be in the vicinity. I will say that it's not a swarm, and I've never had issues bringing produce home with traveling companions. The section could use some more frequent attention, as well. There always tend to be leaves, peels, and other unwanted veggie bits on the shelves and ground. Still, it's hardly enough to put me off to going there. I just wish they'd open one in Crofton soon. I'm sure Waugh Chapel still has some space available! In the meantime, I need to head over to behind-the-mall more frequently, as TJ's is worth the extra mile or two. read more

The only problem that I encounter is that if I try and shop in the evenings I notice that they are out of a lot of my favorite products so I do try to shop during the day to ensure my favorite items are available. read more

This is your typical Trader Joe's. Small, always packed and chaotic. Staff are extremely friendly and will stop whatever they are doing to help you find what you need. Checkout lines can get long on the weekends, and weekdays after 5pm. Staff work quickly to get customers through. Haven't stood in line for more than 10 minutes. Their floral prices can't be beat when compared to a grocery store. They always have new seasonal items coming in along with their yearly staples. If you haven't tried their cauliflower gnocchi, BUY IT. You're welcome. read more

Trader Joe's is one of my favorite grocery stores! They had a whole selection of what you need, plus products you didn't even know you wanted. I love how surprised I am at the low prices of their products and the variety of what they have to offer. Trader Joe's products achieve both great flavor and also make you feel good about eating them. Whether its beet chips, white cheddar popcorn, or cookies, I feel better knowing they're from Trader Joe's. This grocery store does a great job of making their products seem healthier than competitors and better for your body. read more

Is Trader Joe's cheap? Absolutely! Is it good? Yeah, for the most part... what do I think of THIS TJ in particular? Uhh... a "meh"... This particular location is on the smaller side, size wise, compared to a few other locations in DC... hence, the selection can be limited, which isn't really a huge deal breaker... The problem I have with this location is the parking lot, it's a battlefield, and people are often driving and parking like a maniac : taking 2 sports for one car, not stopping for people crossing the street walking out of TJ, and occasional excessive honking... don't ask me why or how this happens, but it happens every time. Not really TJ's fault, but that can be off-putting. (Oddly, my sister in law told me that the Trader Joe's in Charleston SC has similar issues at their parking lot too...) If my memory serves me correctly, I think the Annapolis location went thru a renovation of some sort awhile ago... but for whatever reason, the shopping route isn't always easy to maneuver... i often feel I'm in the way of others or vice versa. Check out can ben slightly confusing too unless you go there often to know how it works. It took me awhile to figure out, no biggie. I did have an odd encounter over the summer. I was waiting in a line to check out with my basket, the guy at the next cashier told me to go over to his counter. I asked if it's okay, because I thought there might be others waiting for his line. He reassured me that it was fine. I put my basket down and waited for my turn. When it was my turn, the same cashier started saying that there was another person in front of me and he wasn't aware of, asked the lady who was supposed to be in front of me if that was okay, and she had no objection and he went on to tell me about the policy of customers being served if they get in the line first as if it was my fault to cut the line. I only went to his counter when he told me to!! I was quite taken aback by how he handled it, and kinda gave him a blank stare one of confusion and surprise. I wish he approached this issue slightly different... but oh well... I'll keep in mind to avoid his register next time. read more

I have always enjoyed Trader Joe's. Perhaps my favorite section is the frozen specialty items, where you will find higher quality items that are not in standard stores. Annapolis does not have a really good Asian market that we have found. So tonight, we had a dim sum feast at home on a snowy Friday evening, courtesy of TJ's. We enjoyed pan fried potsticker dumplings (my Asian friend who makes her own dumplings says these are just as good). We also had their vegetable spring rolls which can be cooked up quickly in the toaster oven. The chicken shumai were yummy, and the instructions for those gave microwave directions, which worked fine. We also made steamed bbq pork buns, which were quite good. I made sesame peanut noodles with edamame and we added hot tea, and the result was pretty awesome. read more

These guys are consistently great. They have an excellent, caring staff and the samples always give me different kinds of food ideas that I could create in my home. Most of the staff is very welcoming. They have plenty of vegan options here at very reasonable prices. Before I go to my hotel I stop here and pack up for the week so that I can have some healthy options instead of going to restaurants where the food is too expensive and rich. read more

There is no wine or beer sold at this Trader Joe's. You're in MD after all. It's ironic that the VA Trader Joe's, smack dab in the Bible Belt, sell these items but liberal, progressive MD laws prevent this and similar stores from selling beer and wine. Thank the beer, wine and liquor store lobbyist and our weak kneed MD legislators for this inconvenience. So I am close enough to the Woodrow Wilson Bridge to go to TJ's in Old Town Alexandria, when I really want to beer or wine from TJ's. Therefore my money goes out-of-state, because of some short sighted, protective alcohol laws. Double irony. I am unabashedly bias. I heart TJ's. I was in CA recently and there were 3 TJ's in a 50 mile radius. I was in TJ heaven. Then I came back to MD. There is a TJ drought, at least in southern MD. Perhaps it's those backward liquor laws keeping TJ's out. Oops, I forgot. I am off that soapbox. Anyhow, this TJ's is like the others. Excellent service, reasonable prices, with 1st rate quality. I would love to give Trader Joe's five stars but I usually need to go to a second grocery store to complete my shopping list. They stock their private label to offer discounted prices and if they cannot offer a good price then they won't stock it. That's very fair but I wish this was a one stop shop. For the price, Trader Joe's has the best flower selection, great deals on veggies (albeit limited), and they always have something to sample. Love that part. I stock up here on coffee creamer, frozen stuff, dark chocolate covered pretzels, lotion and dried fruits. read more
