Good selection of fish, crab, oysters, shrimp, etc. There is always a line but luckily, it is never too long. After trying crab cakes from restaurants known for crab cakes, as well as other fish markets in the Baltimore and Annapolis areas, the crab cakes here are my favorite! Highly recommend them. 25 minutes at 350 degrees and they come out perfect! You have to pass a checkpoint before you are allowed to drive in to park. I was in MD for a weekend in May which hasn't happened since my childhood. A really great memory I have growing up here is eating whole crabs on newspaper (no mallet needed for this gal). Not wanting to make the trek to the Wharf I went to Wild Seafood (as recommended by my sister). I was advised to call ahead and early (like when they open) to place an order and schedule a pick up time. I went with 1 dozen jumbo and 1 dozen large. I don't think I've ever purchased crabs myself so I was NOT prepared for this sticker shock. As of May 2022, it was $115 for a dozen (12) jumbo crabs and $105 for a dozen (12) large. I also got some Texas jumbo shrimp for $21.99/lb. The total was $225 (thanks to an expired Groupon)!!! I'm not typically at a loss for words but SHEESH!! Not gonna lie I thought abt abandoning the whole thing after digesting the price per dozen, but this was a great memory I badly wanted to relive! I also saw FROZEN snow crab legs for $34.99/lb!!! And sold in bags of 3-4 lbs. The highest I've ever seen outside of a restaurant menu. Here's where it gets tricky...these $200 crabs were not the crabs of my childhood. Or perhaps I've become so accustomed to snow crab legs that these blue crabs seemed sub par. I'm not one to complain about all the work that goes into eating whole crabs, but these were not juicy or meaty in the way I remember. EVERYONE ELSE ENJOYED THEM. Literally, everyone thought they were good except me. I also didn't feel they were well seasoned despite the thick coating of Wild Seafood's version of old bay on the shells. Lastly I got the shrimp steamed but they were not deveined??!! At $21.99/lb I don't want to scoop the poop out myself!! Overall, I'm kinda kicking myself for not going to the wharf or grabbing the frozen snow crab clusters, but I am glad everyone else enjoyed it. read more

Last years crabs & prices were very good. Last weekend I ordered a dozen medium/large & when we got home discovered they were actually medium/small. 3 of them where inedible because they were mushy. I called the next week & asked for a supervisor- I told him what happened & said they weren't worth 1/2 of the $79 we paid for them. He took my number & said he would check with the weekend staff. Unprofessional customer service. First rule of a successful business: the business exists for the customer: the customer does not exist for the business. Second rule: If customer is not happy, will likely share negative experience for years to come. Been buying from Franks for over 20 yrs. Bought 2 lbs of shrimp from Wild one afternoon. Next afternoon removed them from the ice bag in refrig and simmered them, but noticed an off smell. Not good. Wild was closed to return or call so went over the next morning for replacement. Was told I didn't comply with return regs. on sales slip - couldn't, store was closed!! Given lengthy weak excuse for not replacing. Told would call me with "final decision" - never happened! Not surprised. So, basically, 2 lbs. of shrimp cost Wild a loyal and frequent customer plus the referrals often given to friends who asked about fresh seafood in the area. read more

I bought jumbo lump crab meat from WS twice last year(2021). The quality was excellent and far superior to crabmeat at Wegmans or Boarman's. Wild seafood has the freshest and best fish, oysters and crabs around. Love that they are so close to where I live. Convenient location and very clean fish market. Our favorites are the Scottish Salmon and we get a whole fish fillet and have leftovers for our dog. Which he loves the fish head. Or you can make soup with it. The oysters are just amazing. They'll let you sample the if you ask. They steam shrimp and have perfectly seasoned crabs. If you want dollar crabs they got those too. I mean the place is just amazing!! You'll love it. $1 CRABS! I finally had the time to go check the market out today. The selling area is just the front part of the building. However, there are tons of fresh selections including fish, oysters, crabs, frozen food, shrimp, etc. We were greeted by a very nice staff who actually pointed out the $1 crabs to us. We ended up getting the $1 crabs (which were delicious and filling) and a bag of mussels for about $4. Will definitely go back for more! read more

I love this Market! I'm from PG county and I've always gone to the Wharf for my seafood but I now live closer to Jessup and one day I had the itch to crack some backs!! I searched and searched for a good place in the area and found Wild Seafood! This place is a gem, fresh fish which they clean for you for free! They guy that helped clean my fish was an expert and he was so quick! They had a few cooked cold crabs left I grabbed what they had along with my fish and some shrimp! Decided to give y'all another try. I didn't call ahead this time, because the last time I did, was met with poor customer service. The wait for freshly steamed crabs, was about 20 minutes -not too bad. Masks were worn by all and the number of customers allowed in the store was limited, with proper distancing outside. Lots of fresh fish, but I had my eye and mind, on nothing but steamed crabs. A dozen, mix of large and medium for $79 - a decent price and sold! Perfectly steamed, all mediums - no large, not heavy meat, but not light either, heavily spiced and a bit murky, within some - as if drudged in unclean waters. My husband purchased a Groupon here specifically because we having trouble finding Black Cod (also called Sablefish, sometimes called Butterfish) locally and really wanted to use it for a certain dish. He called, confirmed that they carry this fish, and then bought the Groupon. When we arrive (this was about a 40 minute drive for us), it was not the correct fish. It's hard to say whether this was a language barrier problem, a misunderstanding due to the many names of this fish, or misinformation, but nonetheless, we were disappointed. Instead, we decided to get some crabmeat, which is fresh from Maryland Blue Crabs. Warning, if you have a Groupon, apparently it is not valid on crabmeat. Not sure if we missed the fine print or not, (most likely because we intended to buy fish) but be sure to read yours carefully. Thankfully, they eventually ended up letting us use it anyway. I was really surprised by the gate where they scan your license in order to enter. We thought we were in the wrong place (shoulda read Yelp!), but other than that, it wasn't such a big deal. The crabmeat was very expensive (even with the Groupon), however, it was very fresh tasting and possibly some of the best I've ever had! I could really tell it was from Maryland Blue Crabs. You get what you pay for when it comes to crab meat, I guess. Warning for sensitive noses: This place has a VERY strong fishy smell (naturally). When they hung up on me the third day, I gave up. I called this past weekend to get a price on medium males. The lady who answered the phone told me $29.99. She asked me how many did I want and when I told her two dozen she said they were sold out. I asked her "Well, what do you have available?" they had available and she said they were all sold out. I visited Wild Seafood two weeks ago and grabbed a couple dozen of the $1 crabs. Crabs exceeded my expectations , very meaty and steamed to perfection. They are also seasoned very well. I also grabbed almost 2 pounds of king crab legs from the freezer which was about $30 or so... the staff offered to steam them which didn't take long at all AND they offered to bring the crab legs outside to me when they were done so I wouldn't have to stand around waiting inside .... the customer service was SUPERB 10star!!!! Wild Fresh is located at the front of a Maryland owned facility. Take note that you will have to pass the security post in order to get to the store. He will give you a parking pass, do not throw the pass away as you will need to use the number displayed on the pass to key out. I had no idea this place was on a Maryland owned property and promptly decidde my GPS was broken before driving down the street. It took me way longer than I care to share to realize that this place was the correct location. There is a LOT of parking near Wild Fresh so that shouldn't be an issue at all. When you get inside its a fish market. It looked pretty clean and like the fish was fresh but to be honest I came here for one reason and one reason only CRABS. FUN FACT: The sweeter the crabmeat the more likely the crabs are Fresh Maryland Blue Crabs. A large number of the crabs sold in Maryland are actually crabs harvested outside of Maryland. As a Maryland native I consider myself pretty crab savvy. Honestly before my visit to Wild Fresh Seafood, I had never known that crab meat could even be sweet. I feel like I've been living a crab lie! The crabs I got from Wild Fresh were delicious, large, fresh, and well seasoned. Now that I know what great crabs taste like I don't think I can go back. It's Father's Day. I want 1/2 a bushel of live crabs. Place is crazy busy....waited in line to get thru security before they opened. Waited in line to find that on this particular day, no live crabs. Da*n!!! But..... They have $1 crabs, already cooked. (Not big, but I like the picking and drinking beer kind of dinner.) Guy in line behind me says, "don't worry, they are good; don't leave." I didn't leave. I got 50 crabs and a few accessories. Spent $68 when I thought the day was going to cost $200. I reheated the crabs in my steamer for 8 minutes and, boom! Happy Father's Day! Dad loved it, and so did I. Long story short: this is my second visit there. To say the least, best seafood selection and service in 20 miles. Prices are excellent. My wife and I visited this place yesterday for the first time. First, they've got a very nice selection of the freshest seafood. Four kinds of oysters. Many shrimps. Beautiful fish fillets and gorgeous whole fish that they will filet for you. We picked up some steamed crabs for $1 each, and they were great. In addition to fresh seafood, they've got crab cakes and fried oysters and other prepared stuff. They even make seafood platters to order. Just as importantly, the guys in the shop could not be nicer. They gave us the quick tour, talked to us about the shop, and were generally outstanding. Wild took over this place from another operator, and I don't envy them the task of having to compete against the seafood counters in grocery stores, which have a big convenience advantage. However, Wild is located right in the wholesale seafood market, so the grocery stores cannot beat their freshness, the service is outstanding, and these guys deserve your business. Everyone inside was very friendly & would give a 5 stars, but the lady at the cashier was very rude and unpleasant & ruined the experience.

Just finished up a few medium/large mix dozen steamed crabs ($49/dozen) for with friends and they were cooked and seasoned perfectly! They closed at 5PM tonight and waited for me to arrive to pick up the crabs and when I pre-ordered them they asked to just let them know if I would be late. Great customer service! Will definitely be ordering more steamed crabs from them in the future. Just a heads up: it is located in a gated facility, but don't let that intimidate you! read more
