So I called one day recently and ordered a dozen steamed medium males for $39, along with some corn. It should be noted that I don't remember the place being such a dump. It really looks decrepit; I wonder how they even pass inspection? Anyway, I was looking back fondly on my past experience, and just ignored that detail... The staff was very nice, and my order was ready on time as promised. The bag of crabs (and corn) seemed heavy enough. But when I got home and dug into them, I was disappointed! Here are my takeaways. - At least half of the crabs were light as a feather, with mostly water and little meat, so I guess those crabs had recently molted. - Only a few crabs had both of their mature claws. The rest had either one normal and one small claw, or one claw was missing entirely. That's a sign of poor handling and/or poor selection. - There was so little meat that they seemed to be smalls rather than mediums. Only four of the twelve were actually heavy and what I would consider to be medium crabs. - Many claws when cracked squirted out water, and the meat was miniscule relative to the shell size. This is August, so I was expecting much heavier crabs. I wish Maryland would require watermen to *weigh* their crabs as well as *measure* them from point to point. Throw back the lightweight ones in order to let them fatten up. So all in all, not a great experience. I won't be going back. (The corn was good, though.)

All I did was a simple Google search and, of course, saw an amazing Yelp review. Now that I stumbled across this place, I knew it was a good seafood spot to grab some food from. For one, they had one building, but they purchased another building that was right next to it just for more parking. Also, there was a mirror on the wall that said they catch the fish fresh themselves from the boat. Now, of course, me having such great humor, I asked the staff, "Do you know what boat stands for?" And of course, they didn't. I said, "Bust out another thousand." That's how I know they were making good money and selling good food, because that boat costs money--and of course, you can't forget the parking lot that they bought just for more parking! Now, I live about two hours away from this spot, and I will not hesitate to fill up my car with some amazing gasoline since I sold my Tesla due to a bunch of system malfunctions, but I'm always gonna be ready to hit the road. Go down here, get an amazing crab cake which was delicious. The fries were so crispy, it was great. The fish of the day was catfish,and man, I tell you, it did have me purring with delight and satisfaction. The…read moreLexington market is a special place (I'm not sure if I mean it in a good way or a bad way) and there are definitely lots of stands I wouldn't go near (It seems lots of people buy pig snouts and feet, turkey necks, and other random appendages that I didn't know were edible). I only go to Lexington markets for 3 reasons: the crab cakes at Faidley's, the indian food at Mem Sahib and the fish/seafood at Harbor Fish. It is run by a Korean guy (maybe chinese) named Joshua Cho (he gave me his buisness card, but I've heard some people call him John) and his wife. He is the most helpful fish salesman I've ever encountered. His fish is always very fresh and he has a very high turnover (very important with seafood). His prices are very reasonable (much less expensive than supermarket fish or Whole Foods) and his product is definitely better. Crave some sushi? Give him a call the day before and ask him for some sushi grade tuna or salmon and you'll get the nicest piece of fish you've ever seen. The sushi-grade ahi tuna I got once from ($16 a pound compared to $20+ from Whole Foods) was amazing. I basically just cut pieces off and ate them raw just like sashimi. It melted in your mouth! Almost any fish you want, you can call him up the day before and he'll get it for you! Sometimes when I show up without calling, I just ask whats fresh. He asks how I want to cook my fish and points out the recent catches. Then instead of grabbing a fish from the display, he goes in the back and looks for the best fish and cleans it nicely for me. If you want fish in Baltimore, there is no better places than Harbor Fish.

While his fish stall is not as large as some of the other fish stalls in the market, his service is excellent.
