Hoping for some improvement. The good and mediocre. Ordered for pickup two of the two crab cake platter meals, total cost was $129 + $20 tip. Order was for one with curly fries the other with onion rings and each with coleslaw. Crabcakes were of good size at 8 oz each and the coleslaw was just like mom's. The onion rings never made it to one of the platters, just ended up with shoestring fries on that one and not very many. I could see the foil lining the container through the pile of fries. Curly fries were OK, seemed like more were there than the shoestring. Also never received the ordered tartar sauce for either meal. The crabcakes had good flavor and very minimal shells present (9 out of 10 on that) but didn't seem to have been cooked long enough. I realized this when the next day I decided to eat the second crab cake and cooked in my convection oven for an additional 30 minutes and THEN it was very delectable. Would like in the future for the crab cakes to maybe have the option to fry or broil and cooked a bit longer, receive my order correctly and maybe, when someone is spending $67 on average per meal (minus tip) to not be skimpy with the sides. I mean really, how much do fries cost? A one pound frozen bag in the store is $8 at most, I got maybe 4 ounces. I know in the same general area there is a burger store whose name that starts with a number guys, hint hint, that gives double your order of fries when you pay $5.99. Next time I will be more cautious and maybe not go all out thinking it was going to be a smash hit. The restaurant is really close to me so I hope it will be a better experience next time. For those with disabilities, there is accessible parking in the lot but the restaurant itself is up about 6 steps and through a 90 degree alcove with two doors and very liitle room to navigate. There is no apparant accessibility for those who use walkers or wheelchairs. The ramp you see here is for access to the kitchen and through the window, it doesn't seem like a safe passage. I am very sure however that if asked, the staff would bring your food out if necessary. They seem very nice and willing to accomodate.

We wanted to love this place but there were just too many problems. Things started off great. It was busy but we were seated right away. We ordered soup and an appetizer but took a few minutes to decide on entrees. The fried pickles were excellent and the cream of crab soup had lots of crab meat but needed seasoning. We eventually managed to flag down a server to get some crab seasoning and that helped a lot. Things went downhill from there. Half an hour went by and we noticed that people at the tables around us who had come in long after us had ordered, gotten their food, eaten it, and were now paying their checks. We asked our server what was going on and after a few minutes the owner came out and apologized. She said our ticket had gone in right after some large parties and that crabs come out faster because they come from the steamer but she didn't really have a response for why the table behind us who sat down about 20 minutes after us had finished their burgers and crab cakes already. Eventually our entrees came out, 40 minutes after the apps. We could smell the ammonia from the fried catfish. Pretty sure the oil the hush puppies were fried in wasn't hot enough because they were really greasy. My stuffed shrimp was supposed to be a crab cake over broiled shrimp with cream imperial on top. The shrimp was fine and the crab cake was good enough but nothing special. The problem was the "imperial" sauce. It was half an inch of hot mayonnaise sprinkled with J. O., no cream, no lemon or worchester, just mayo piled over everything. Both entrees were basically inedible. The owner came back and apologized again but also tried to tell us that they sell a lot of catfish so it couldn't be bad and that everyone loved their crab imperial. She was very nice about it and did comp our whole meal but it really felt like she didn't believe us that our food was bad. It's entirely possible we just got really unlucky with a bunch of kitchen mistakes but there were just too many for us to want to try again.

They have closed their trailer in Laurel and are now open in Dayton where Floyd's Crossroads Pub was. Some of the same employees and all of the good food as before. We recently stopped in on a lazy Saturday about 3pm for some soup, onion rings, steamed crabs & cold beer. Thats how Marylanders roll! All very good. Fantastic wait staff, very friendly & knowledgeable. We will return often. Thank you!

I have always passed this place for years so when I was on my search to order a bushel for my family reunion this past weekend, this place came to my mind. I called about a week prior to see if I can reserve & pay ahead of time but due to high demand for crabs & their availability, I was able to pre-pay 48 hours before my event. The customer service here is great, it's a family-owned food truck/trailer and ample parking. There are no tables to eat in their lot but there are 4 chairs while you wait for your items to be steamed. Ok so onto the crabs-- Crab-o-licious! I ordered medium male crabs and they were so meaty! My family loved them and couldn't stop asking where I ordered them from, even the out-of-towners. I typically can eat 8-10 but were full after 6. At the end of our family function, I was able to take some home for a late night snack lol. I'll definitely be returning to Emmerts Seafood Truck to try their steamed shrimp and crab legs before the summer ends.

Not great, not terrible -- average. For me, sitting at the bar is better than at a table: better service and conversation with others. Same food, average seafood with typical sides. If the food was a notch better: I'd come more than once a year. I find Mays, Liberty Seafood and Avery's roughly the same, with Mays having the edge over the others (quieter too). For just crabs: order takeaway from Westpointe. For bulking up on food: Avery's. I actually enjoy eating at Avery's -- but it could be so much better if they improved the sides and service. Still, I do come once a year -- contrasted to: I visit several other restaurants at least twice a month ...and get better quality seafood dishes (at a marginally higher price). Just saying...

The seafood boil was drenched in their ultimate Juicy Special sauce. Their sauce is so good! Menus and drink orders were brought promptly. I chose the fish tacos, and our server - Casey - asked if I wanted the fish pan seared or blackened. We had a discussion over how many chips and salsa were served with it, because my friend wanted some with his veggie burger. We learned that the amount with an entrée is just right - about two handfuls - so we each had some, with my friend's being a substitution for fries. I almost can't find the words to describe those tacos! The fish was moist, perfectly seasoned and generously heaped in each taco. Often, tacos lean heavily on the veg elements but these had just the right amount of slaw. The flavor of the fish was so delicate and savory. Honestly, one taco was all I could manage. Although they were street taco sized, it was so filling. I only ate a handful of chips; they were good but nothing special, as was the tiny cup of salsa. My friend said his veggie burger was excellent, and he enjoyed the bit of chips and salsa as well. He just had water, while I tried a Corona NA. The bill was around $56, which is very reasonable. There's plenty of free parking in the shopping center. Great service, good prices, excellent food - I'll go back!

Monday is lobster night, and my partner is a big lobster fan. The lobster here (I'm told) was excellent and the restaurant provided the right tools to get all the lobster meat. The sides my partner got - mashed potatoes and spinach - both were good. The potatoes were "real" and the spinach very garlicky. I got the grilled fish - hake. It was well prepared and my two sides, rice and slaw, were both very good. I wouldn't say better than at other seafood restaurants, but good. We started with a bowl of Maryland crab soup, which had a nice broth (very Old Bay-y) and chunks of crab. Tasty soup. The service was good with food brought promptly and good water service. We drink a lot of water and the server came over multiple times to refill our glasses. The restaurant is very nice inside, bright with a nautical theme. The bar was very popular during happy hour and the restaurant looks popular with couples and families. One big disappointment was that we were not offered and didn't receive the complimentary muffins. (They are buttermilk cheese muffins with citrus honey butter.) I later saw on Yelp people praising the muffins and the pictures looked great. I assumed they had discontinued them because I didn't see them at any tables. I did reach out to the owner afterward by email and he told me that they still routinely offer the muffins for the table and that this must have been a "lacking in my server training steps." So, please - if you are not offered the muffins (which look fantastic and I hear from others on Yelp that they are), please ask for them. I'm going to deduct a point for the muffin issue. Honestly, I spent $100 for dinner for two with tip and feel like a person should get the full restaurant experience. I'm a big fan of specialty breads and have been to other restaurants where they put a nice basket of bread on the table. I really feel disappointed by this experience.

It came with two waffles, probably three eggs (we added cheese so that was extra), 4 slices of bacon, and 2 sausage links, and hash brown. The waffles were such a cute shape and they were delicious. I can't confirm this, but I imagine it's their own special batter. They were very generous with the scrambled eggs and I didn't even have to add salt & pepper. I like that there were two meat options. I just wish my bacon wasn't all stuck together to form one piece. Also, the bacon could've been cooked a little more. It was a little fatty and I like a little more crisp. The star of the show was the hash brown. It definitely seemed like it was homemade. This may have been my first time having a homemade hash brown. I'm not sure what they did to it, but here's my guess. It looks shredded potatoes, mixed with green onion, and maybe some cheese, that was packed like a patty & shallow fried. My goodness, I should've ordered some hashbrowns to go so I could eat them for the rest of the week. The platter was so good, I didn't even mind having to eat it in my car. Lol. It was filling & $16 well spent.
