Hoping for some improvement. The good and mediocre. Ordered for pickup two of the two crab cake platter meals, total cost was $129 + $20 tip. Order was for one with curly fries the other with onion rings and each with coleslaw. Crabcakes were of good size at 8 oz each and the coleslaw was just like mom's. The onion rings never made it to one of the platters, just ended up with shoestring fries on that one and not very many. I could see the foil lining the container through the pile of fries. Curly fries were OK, seemed like more were there than the shoestring. Also never received the ordered tartar sauce for either meal. The crabcakes had good flavor and very minimal shells present (9 out of 10 on that) but didn't seem to have been cooked long enough. I realized this when the next day I decided to eat the second crab cake and cooked in my convection oven for an additional 30 minutes and THEN it was very delectable. Would like in the future for the crab cakes to maybe have the option to fry or broil and cooked a bit longer, receive my order correctly and maybe, when someone is spending $67 on average per meal (minus tip) to not be skimpy with the sides. I mean really, how much do fries cost? A one pound frozen bag in the store is $8 at most, I got maybe 4 ounces. I know in the same general area there is a burger store whose name that starts with a number guys, hint hint, that gives double your order of fries when you pay $5.99. Next time I will be more cautious and maybe not go all out thinking it was going to be a smash hit. The restaurant is really close to me so I hope it will be a better experience next time. For those with disabilities, there is accessible parking in the lot but the restaurant itself is up about 6 steps and through a 90 degree alcove with two doors and very liitle room to navigate. There is no apparant accessibility for those who use walkers or wheelchairs. The ramp you see here is for access to the kitchen and through the window, it doesn't seem like a safe passage. I am very sure however that if asked, the staff would bring your food out if necessary. They seem very nice and willing to accomodate.

We wanted to love this place but there were just too many problems. Things started off great. It was busy but we were seated right away. We ordered soup and an appetizer but took a few minutes to decide on entrees. The fried pickles were excellent and the cream of crab soup had lots of crab meat but needed seasoning. We eventually managed to flag down a server to get some crab seasoning and that helped a lot. Things went downhill from there. Half an hour went by and we noticed that people at the tables around us who had come in long after us had ordered, gotten their food, eaten it, and were now paying their checks. We asked our server what was going on and after a few minutes the owner came out and apologized. She said our ticket had gone in right after some large parties and that crabs come out faster because they come from the steamer but she didn't really have a response for why the table behind us who sat down about 20 minutes after us had finished their burgers and crab cakes already. Eventually our entrees came out, 40 minutes after the apps. We could smell the ammonia from the fried catfish. Pretty sure the oil the hush puppies were fried in wasn't hot enough because they were really greasy. My stuffed shrimp was supposed to be a crab cake over broiled shrimp with cream imperial on top. The shrimp was fine and the crab cake was good enough but nothing special. The problem was the "imperial" sauce. It was half an inch of hot mayonnaise sprinkled with J. O., no cream, no lemon or worchester, just mayo piled over everything. Both entrees were basically inedible. The owner came back and apologized again but also tried to tell us that they sell a lot of catfish so it couldn't be bad and that everyone loved their crab imperial. She was very nice about it and did comp our whole meal but it really felt like she didn't believe us that our food was bad. It's entirely possible we just got really unlucky with a bunch of kitchen mistakes but there were just too many for us to want to try again.

Father's Day last minute crab buyers. Emmert's workers were moving the line fairly quickly.

They have closed their trailer in Laurel and are now open in Dayton where Floyd's Crossroads Pub was. Some of the same employees and all of the good food as before. We recently stopped in on a lazy Saturday about 3pm for some soup, onion rings, steamed crabs & cold beer. Thats how Marylanders roll! All very good. Fantastic wait staff, very friendly & knowledgeable. We will return often. Thank you!

I have always passed this place for years so when I was on my search to order a bushel for my family reunion this past weekend, this place came to my mind. I called about a week prior to see if I can reserve & pay ahead of time but due to high demand for crabs & their availability, I was able to pre-pay 48 hours before my event. The customer service here is great, it's a family-owned food truck/trailer and ample parking. There are no tables to eat in their lot but there are 4 chairs while you wait for your items to be steamed. Ok so onto the crabs-- Crab-o-licious! I ordered medium male crabs and they were so meaty! My family loved them and couldn't stop asking where I ordered them from, even the out-of-towners. I typically can eat 8-10 but were full after 6. At the end of our family function, I was able to take some home for a late night snack lol. I'll definitely be returning to Emmerts Seafood Truck to try their steamed shrimp and crab legs before the summer ends.

I opened up my Yelp app to see if I had bookmarked anything nearby and T&J's Waffles was the first spot that popped up. I didn't know it was walk up location. I was all prepared to sit at a table and have breakfast, but I was already there and I wasn't leaving without food. My dad and I both ordered the classic breakfast platter. It came with two waffles, probably three eggs (we added cheese so that was extra), 4 slices of bacon, and 2 sausage links, and hash brown. The waffles were such a cute shape and they were delicious. I can't confirm this, but I imagine it's their own special batter. They were very generous with the scrambled eggs and I didn't even have to add salt & pepper. I like that there were two meat options. I just wish my bacon wasn't all stuck together to form one piece. Also, the bacon could've been cooked a little more. It was a little fatty and I like a little more crisp. The star of the show was the hash brown. It definitely seemed like it was homemade. This may have been my first time having a homemade hash brown. I'm not sure what they did to it, but here's my guess. It looks shredded potatoes, mixed with green onion, and maybe some cheese, that was packed like a patty & shallow fried. My goodness, I should've ordered some hashbrowns to go so I could eat them for the rest of the week. The platter was so good, I didn't even mind having to eat it in my car. Lol. It was filling & $16 well spent.

This bright and colorful food truck caught my view as I entered the Sunoco gas station in Hickory Ridge Village Center off Freetown Road in Columbia. I placed my order, then checked the air in my tires and got gas--two birds with one stone! By the time I returned, my lunch was ready. They serve freshly prepared Guatemalan-style food with very generous portions. I ordered the tacos choosing 2 flavors each of chicken and steak, burrito filled with tender steak pieces and then a Carne Asada burrito. The flavors were delicious, ingredients were fresh and nothing was overly spicy. Sliced cucumber and radish with sauces topped each dish and the service was friendly with no long wait. A convenient spot for a quick, tasty bite. I'll definitely be back to try more.

I heard that the lines can be long but when we went on Saturday around noon there was no line and the wait for our food was around 10 minutes. Just like everyone says the portions are huge! Each meal can easily be split with someone else or saved for a later meal. I really loved the torta, it came with refried beans, lettuce, a special sauce, steak (you can choose the meat), all on a super soft bread. The tacos come loaded up with meat, the steak wasn't the best I've had but the chorizo was phenomenal! The drink options are limited, but if you've never tried coconut water that would be my recommendation. There were some tables right next to the food truck available to use. It was the perfect day to sit outside and enjoy our fresh food. The person who took our food order was super friendly, patient, and happy to answer any questions. I'll definitely be back, and will probably order a torta again. I've also heard great things about their quesadillas!

We've seen it from Columbia to Finksburg MD! This time we found them at an event in Savage Park in Savage MD, (Jun 2026), in a cluster of trucks gathered in a corner of the parking lot next to one of the fields in a little league tournament. We already had hot dogs before we saw the DMV truck, and we had no regrets, but also no room for more. But we love love these birria tacos. Tender, juicy, flavorful, with lots of consommé on the side for dunking. We got some to take home, and they reheated really well, losing none of the flavors or aromas, just losing some of the crispiness of the taco shell. They were a glorious mess! We got an order of flavorful shrimp tacos, too. Scrumptious! Generous! They had birria, chicken, shrimp, or veggie tacos or quesadillas or burritos or rice-bowls, loaded fries, even a birria grilled cheese, birria empanadas, or a birria or combo hoagie! That's like a week of comfort foods to choose from! Beverages include Jarritos, and they have churros for dessert with sipping chocolate. Where will we seem them next! It comes with consommé which is a delicious Mexican (presumably beef) stew seasoned with guajillo Mexican peppers and other things. My last order which fed the whole family was the Taco Tray which is 15 Birria Tacos w/ cheese and toppings and four consommés for $58. It's now available to order online. It's a large, complicated order and it takes a bit of time to put it together, so be patient. You get the tacos and also a split sauteed onion and a few grilled serrano peppers laid on top of the tin foil tray sealed tight. The sliced cold toppings which include a huge number of really juicy lime quarters are in a separate container and then the four hot consume containers with plastic spoons are separate as well. There is also a container of chopped red onion & fresh cilantro. Also, homemade chilled red and green hot sauce packets. The tacos and consume are piping hot and stay hot all the way home. The chilled toppings stay chilled. Everything sealed tight, no spillage. So you get home and spread everything out on your table. Tacos and consume are still steaming. Grab a taco, add the chilled toppings to the taco and also some of the chopped onions & cilantro, add a healthy squirt of fresh lime juice, add some hot sauce if you wish, add a grilled onion slice or grilled serrano slice if you wish, then dip the taco into the consume (birria stew). Then bite into the dripping taco. It's a kaleidoscope of flavors that seem to come to you in waves. Each flavor is distinct. Every bite is a thrill. You've never experienced anything like this.
