Regarding the 79th Rotary club crab feast. I attended this year's Crab fest and all the other fests that Rotary club has sponsored. I wasn't pleased with this year's Crab Fest that the club had selected your company to prepare the stream crabs. Alright let me began to call you down how the Crabs missed the point how they were prepared. Under seasons, I don't know why the crabs were overly cook, and if the crabs were cook on the site; when we received the crabs they were cold? I attended this year's Wegmans that's located off of St Joseph Church drive from Landover Road. Their crabs fest that occurred on October 6th how Harris Crab House prepared the crabs on site. When I pick-up my order they were piping hot, even when I arrived home they were still hot, and well season. I was pleased with the crabs from Harris Crab House. read more

Someone recommended this spot for their crabs so we stopped by to check them out. We didn't have time for crabs but instead got their fish dinner. The wait was a little longer than expected because we didn't see many customers however the fish was worth the wait. Fried golden brown with a light batter. The sides were ok. Oh my gosh - we have had some fantastic seafood from Chesapeake's-including great soft shells, scallops and cherry stone clams. But---they outdid themselves yesterday with "The Maine Event" -- One quart of delicious crab soup, one pound of super sweet steamed shrimp, two amazing whole Maine lobsters, broccoli, sliced red potatoes and lots of melted"buttah". My wife and I were in Annapolis this weekend and decided to take some fresh steamed blue crabs home for us and other family. These folks at Chesapeake are amazing. This is our second visit over the past 12 months. The crabs are always fresh, hot and delicious. No bad ones and no issues, ever. They source quality crabs for a reasonable price. Ordered 2lbs of Alaskan crab legs...why in the world were there only TWO clusters in my bag when I got home? My mom and I were pissed. Paid $51 for 2lbs of crab legs, 2 ears of corn, and coleslaw...even left a tip...just to be given 2 clusters. I know what 2lbs of crab legs look like. Been eating them since I was 4 and that was NOT it. The weight of the corn is what threw me off. Maybe that's what they weighed lmao..Chhhhh....Also, I don't think that teenage girl wants to works there she doesn't know how to speak to customers. You're suppose to engage with your customers, not stand at the register and look uninterested, then not speak after spoken to (5 times my mother tried to talk to her and she wouldn't say nothing..just stand and stare) anyway, them 2 clusters we got is what really got me heated. Stumbled upon this place driving home. The only place that had soft shell crabs available the day I was near Annapolis. I got steamed crabs (excellent), a raw lump crab cake to cook at home (yum) and a fried soft shell crab that was really good. If I didn't live so far away from Chesapeake Seafood I'd be here every week. They were really nice to me and the other customers as well. My husband would buy steamed crabs here before he went back home from work. Every time the crabs are fresh and delicious. We tried their steamed shrimp once and I have to say they made great cocktail sauce also. Not the cheapest seafood, but of solid quality. Service is ok, not too welcoming, but won't ask too much for service since we do take out all the time. Allow them 20 minutes to prepare the food. read more

MASKS not worn properly - The woman at the register refused to cover her nose with her gaping mask. When i asked her very nicely explains she ended up screaming and telling me to F-off. We just drove an hour to pick up our first crabs of the season. We paid 180 for a half bushel of medium crabs only to get home and find 29 crabs in the box so that's not even 2.5 dozen for 180 bucks. Total ripoff don't go here. Terrible customer service when we called to ask them about it. They were running a special 2 dozen for 90 dollars and they didn't see an issue when I asked how that math works out. I could have gotten four dozen for the same price. Drove here from Alexandria to visit Mayo Beach but it reached capacity so we decided to stop for food. I could tell this place was good because the phone was busy when we tried to call ahead and when we got there, there was a line outside to order. The place was super busy but they still offered beyond excellent customer service and even brought the food out to the car! Because of COVID, they only allowed two people inside. Warning!! It was a long wait, close to an hour, BUT it was totally worth it! We ordered the fried calamari appetizer, fried white fish platter, and a seafood combo platter. Everything was perfectly seasoned and had us munching all the way back home. Even our 1.5 year old enjoyed the food and he's at the picky eater stage. The best place in the area to get steamed or live crabs to-go. These fellas (locally owned/operated) used to have a truck business out by Lee Airport and with enough patronage from folks like myself they managed to get a storefront. They also boast great seafood including ONLY Gulf caught shrimp (none of those asian farmed critters). I've only had fried oysters (which were very good actually) off their general menu and would venture to guess that most of their items (nearly all go in and out of a fryer) are unremarkable as cooking isn't really their gig. Fresh seafood and crabs are the deal with this place and they treat regulars very well - I've had an extra dozen crabs dropped on me more than once. I am born and raised in Edgewater so for me to buy crabs goes against the boy in me with chicken necks and a net. Now that I am older (and less patient) I buy my crabs from here. I only buy live crabs but I can honestly say not once have I steamed the crabs from here and been disappointed. Definitely not the cheapest place but great quality every time. Ordered crabs and shrimp for a 91 year old's birthday. I asked for only 6 crabs to be cooked without spice for her. When we picked up the crabs, I asked if that was done, was told yes. I was so happy! I asked if the other crabs were spiced, as told yes. Still happy! I should have checked. So disappointed to get home and find ALL the crabs were without spices. I had family in from three other states, all looking forward to a Maryland Crab party. We ate them, but it was not the same. After the Edgewater location of Annapolis Seafood closed down, this was and is the only local place in town for fish and shellfish (besides the big grocery stores) And I'm glad that they are here. Little neck clams that I have been buying recently are excellent. All open when I saute them in clam stock and wine to add to my chowder. Open = fresh. Gulf shrimp are always available and are very good. Lump crab cakes are quite good as well. All in all a great local establishment. read more

Lived in Edgewater area all my life and have eaten crabs at many different places. Without question Chesapeake Seafood tops them all! I love crabs but have never been a fan of crab cakes until I tried one of theirs. It was absolutely delicious. You won't find better seafood anywhere. read more
