1 Dozen Crabs, 2 very happy customers!
Kaitlin H.

My mother & I are in town for a figure skating competition from Pittsburgh & since we are in Maryland we wanted crab for dinner! So the search started! We came across Pit Boys & called to double check to see if the did have crab, they did! When we arrived the owner asked what we were planning on eating & we told her we were interested in having crabs! Turns out they usually close on Sundays at 7pm but they made an exception for us, thank goodness! We ordered a dozen crabs & enjoyed every single one! They were cooked perfectly, the meat was sweet & juicy, & the old bay seasoning was just the right amount! There was plenty of seating complete with wooden picnic style benches, a bar, & $1 homemade cookies for dessert! If you're in the mood for some amazing crab with a chill atmosphere & kind people, look no further than Pit Boys! You can thank me later! Cheers!

Large Male Crabs

The crabs were very tasty and meaty. The service was quick and friendly. I highly recommend.

It was my first time trying Pit Boys for crabs. I called ahead for a half dozen of large male crabs which were $80/dozen. When I arrived, I paid and was told to wait in my car and someone would bring them out. The crabs were well seasoned but I was upset with the size and weight of the crabs for the price. They were very light and most of the legs were off of them. I'm on a mission to try at least 10 new crab spots this season and this is number 2. It was okay, but I'm not that impressed.

Purchased sliced turkey today, and was disappointed by it being thickly cut and very dry. Don't buy it. Ken in Annapolis

Worst BBQ tri tip sandwich ever! Tough, cold, full of fat, poor smoke. What a horrible experience. Yuck

We settled into our table and were welcomed by Shannon, our server. (There was a little confusion about this, but it straightened out.) The restaurant is bright and separated from the well-stocked bar. I had a Sagamore rye neat, and B ordered a glass of the Rioja. If there are oysters on the menu, you know I'll order them. There was a pretty good selection, and I opted for a half dozen Rappahanock oysters. They were excellent, sweet and briny. We each ordered a Caesar salad, but Shannon advised us that it was large enough to be shareable. More than enough. B ordered the pasta with clams, and I choose the Seafood chowder. The chowder was delicious, but B found the pasta to be too peppery for her tastes. Worse, three of the clams were unopened. We brought this to Shannon's attention, and she offered to put in a new order, but B demured, as she was full. At this point, Owner John Hogan came over to the table to chat. He told us the clams would be taken off the bill, and gave us a gift card, hoping we'd return. He stayed at our table for nearly 30 minutes, and we had a wonderfully engaging conversation with him. We will definitely be going back.

Our waitress was sweet, but seemed very much overwhelmed. I can understand, as they seemed genuinely understaffed for the quantity of patrons that they were serving. Ambiance is bustling, you have to squeeze pass people if you are navigating the restaurant or even heading to the bathroom LOL. Now, onto the food! The crab dip was juicy, succulent and delicious! Great crab ratio & also the bread was freshly baked! I ordered the seafood platter which came with coleslaw, fried fish, a crabcake, french fries & a fried lobster . Very flavorful and also everything was cooked to perfection! It was a nice medley! I enjoyed my meal and my time here. I do want to re-visit to try more items from the menu in the future. Cheers!

High prices and the quality, presentation and flavor do not match. Nothing had seasoning or true flavor besides the crab cake which was full with crab meat and had a decent profile. It was also on the smaller side for the amount being paid. We also ordered a dozen of large crabs for $180 which is also, insaneee! We ended up sending a few back due to them being empty and they also lack in flavor and tasted like they were just cooked in water. We asked for seasoning and that was the only flavor added. All and all, I wouldn't return for the food but for a drinks at the bar! The bartender was amazing!

I started with the steak wedge salad, which was really tasty--the bacon had a slightly sweet flavor that stood out and complemented the dish nicely. For my entrée, I went with the tomahawk pork chop and a loaded baked potato. The pork chop was cooked well and had great flavor overall, though it leaned just slightly on the salty side. Still very enjoyable, especially paired with the potato. Where things really took off was dessert. Our table ordered a few to share--the brownie, chocolate cake, and crème brûlée cheesecake. The brownie was easily my favorite: rich, soft, and topped with caramel sauce alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Definitely the standout of the night. Service from Eli was good--friendly and helpful. I would have appreciated a bit more check-ins throughout the meal, but nothing that took away from the experience. Overall, a solid visit with great flavors and a few standout dishes. I'd definitely come back, especially for that brownie.

During a visit about a over a month ago, I observed an interaction between a manager and an employee that felt uncomfortable to witness. From a customer perspective, the tone came across as harsh and seemed more appropriate for a private conversation rather than one happening in front of staff and guests. On a more recent visit, I became concerned after overhearing multiple staff members discussing cleanliness-related issues while I was dining. As a customer, hearing those types of conversations during a meal was unsettling and raised concerns for me about overall food safety and sanitation. I want to be clear that I am only sharing what I personally experienced and overheard during my visits. However, as someone with severe allergies, trust in food handling and cleanliness is extremely important to me, and these experiences made me uncomfortable. Because of this, I felt it was appropriate to bring these concerns to the attention of the appropriate authorities so they can be properly reviewed. I hope management takes the opportunity to evaluate both customer experience and internal practices moving forward, as both staff and guests deserve a safe and respectful environment.

Very good with the right amount of lobster. This was all ordered online and pre-paid. Parking could be a challenge. Luckily we came on a Sunday so it was less of a crowd. Found a spot to quickly pull behind just to pick up the food. Annapolis is a busy area. Especially on a Friday or Saturday. Just make sure if you order to go. That you pre-check your order. It was perfection and so delish. Served in a tasty lightly toasted and buttered bun. The hefty lobster serving comes with a dash of mayo. I'll be back again and again for Mason's lobster rolls. That restlessness works in its favor. The space is compact, almost disarming at first. Then it settles around you. The food carries that same balance. Thoughtful, seasonal, and just unpredictable enough to keep you paying attention. Cocktails follow suit, measured and deliberate, never an afterthought. For Annapolis, where good options are not exactly rare, this place still manages to separate itself.
