I enjoyed this restaurant so much! It was my first time visiting, even though I live nearby. The restaurant is somewhat hidden away, unlike many restaurants located in busy shopping areas, which made it feel peaceful and relaxing. The waiter was very friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. I ordered the crab cake sandwich, and it was fresh and of excellent quality. My friend and I sat outside by the water. Even though it was a hot day, the beautiful view, attentive service, and delicious food made for a very relaxing experience. We spent a wonderful time chatting and enjoying our meal. My friend and I were both very impressed with the restaurant. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend it! read more

This was our 2nd time to Harpers Waterfront - this time for lunch - and, I am sad to say, that it did not live up to the level of satisfaction that I got the 1st time I was there for dinner. Maybe they step it up for the evening meal, I don't know. But there was just something about the meal that did not hit the same bar. We went there in the early afternoon. The bar was surprisingly crowded while the dining room was mostly empty, maybe 4 or 5 tables were full. There were even people sitting outside on the deck. We both ordered the same darn meal: cream of crab soup and the crab cake sandwich. Of course, our plates looked exactly the same and - also of course - we had the same reaction to the dishes. The cream of crab soup was "meh." The broth was nicely thick but its flavor was a bit too robust for something with crab in it. The soup just about overwhelmed the crab meat. Too much seasoning, too much spice, just too much. It also lacked a large amount of crab meat in it. The serving was large, served in a bowl that was almost as big as my head but filled only halfway (thank God). Suffice it to say that the cream of crab soup is not the reason to go to this restaurant. The crab cakes were better than the soup but only marginally. There was a whole lot of filler in there and the crab mix was not thoroughly mixed up. One bite had a lot of crab, the next bite was all filler, the next was a mixture of the 2 - someone just did not take the time and effort to fully combine the ingredients well. Don't get me wrong, the crab cake was good, just not great. But the biggest downfall of this dish was the bun. The bun was much too big. It overwhelmed the crab cake; too much bread. Both my spouse and I took the crab cake off the bun and ate it naked. It was better that way. The best part of Harpers Waterfront is its location. The waterfront view is delightful and relaxing and pretty. The dining room is very nicely decorated and there is plenty of room between the tables. It is not a chain restaurant and that is a good thing too - you can tell that the owners have put a lot of great thought into the atmosphere and the "look" of the restaurant. Even the men's room is nicely furnished. The dining room is sophisticated yet natural and relaxed. The location on Turkey Point is a little secluded which makes you feel like you have happened upon a secret little place not known by many people. That is a plus here. Do I recommend Harpers Waterfront? Yes I do. It is a very nice place to have a meal. Ok so maybe the food can be improved but it is still a nice place. The location and the atmosphere alone is enough to bring me back here. read more

The food was very disappointing. The wings were small, and tasted like Texas Pete sauce was tossed on them, so bad I couldn't finish the order. The clams app was in an overly salted broth that burned the taste buds. The Nashville chicken sandwich tasted like the Texas Petes was used again and not coated in a sweet honey Nashville heat that was expected. Someone is not watching the kitchen. Harper's had a hiatus last summer and has now reopened. I hosted a happy hour there today with fourteen women. The food was fantastic! People ordered the crab dip, the tuna tower, lamb lollipops, clams, burgers, crab cake, and other items. The happy hour deals are very good. The views are fantastic. We have eaten here several times over the past 2 yrs. On a hot humid eve, bar area was open to the outside, bringing flys and uncomfortable temps (80 degrees) inside. Acoustics are not controlled making it challenging to hold a conversation without raising your voice. Our waitress was good but the food was overcooked and overseasoned (too salty). Overall, the quality of entrees has gone down for the past 6 months. We will not be returning anytime soon. read more

Their prices are still too high, but during their Happy Hour, they're more reasonable. BUT they've got yo do something about the acoustics in the main dining area! We had a reservation for six on Father's Day - two of us got there first and were seated. We soon realized that all of the windows were open and there was NO air conditioning. It was close to 90 degrees outside and not much less than that inside. At first they told us the AC was on but the open windows made the place warm. Then, when we noted that the vents above our table were not blowing any air, they admitted the AC didn't work. We moved tables to a less oppressively hot part of the dining room, after checking out the outside tables, which at 6:30 were still in the sun, where it was even hotter than inside. I can now talk about the food and service, but the uncomfortable temperature and humidity in the restaurant was ever present and made everyone's experience...well, hot and uncomfortable. But we had good company and OK food so we got through it. The place was not very crowded, which made it even more frustrating when everyone's entrees came soon after our salads and appetizers arrived. We didn't say anything, but all of us were not happy about that. The servers were all very nice and as accommodating as they could be. But we paid a lot of money for a Sunday night holiday dinner and we were all very uncomfortable. All of us were first timers from Annapolis, and none of us will be inclined to go back...especially during the summer. Too bad. The rockfish piccata was good, but not great. The appetizers (clams and crab dip) were good, as were the salads, but nothing worth being so uncomfortable for. At Wild Country Seafood in Annapolis you have to sit outside in the heat at uncomfortable picnic tables - but you know that going in, and the food is better than this place, and a lot less expensive. read more

Tried this place again after it closed for a while. They claim to be under new ownership but I guess somethings get worse. If you want a good laugh order the $15 fry platter. Thought it might be a good appetizer to munch on while having a few drinks. Turns out you get a plate scattered with the remnants of 3 types of fries and tater tots. First trip here, because we were in town for an event. As pescatarians, seafood is our preference. Sunday Brunch menu offered shrimp 'n' grits which included sausage, but they excluded it per our request. It was delicious! Very flavorful! You never know what to expect with new places but let me tell you.....Harper's Waterfront is legit. Went for brunch today. Beware......the portions are PLENTIFUL and you won't be disappointed. We started with the Fresh Fruit Ice Bowl & Baked Brie. For 2 people.....just order 1 app. We pretty much brought the whole fruit bowl home due to the baked Brie being so amazingly big we couldn't eat all the fruit. I ordered the Steak & Eggs. The quality of that 12 oz NY Strip....that was cooked to a perfect medium...w/ Eggs & Homefries OMG!!! Hubby ordered the Crab Cake Benedict and I knew it was a winner when his eyes rolled to the back of his head after the 1st bite. AGAIN....portions are phenomenal! The crab and artichoke dip is the best version I've had. The shrimp are crisp, huge, sweet and fresh. Hats off to Amanda - cool as a cucumber behind a busy bar. Dined at Harper's for my mother's birthday and here are my thoughts... Service - Not the best ...very slow for entrees to arrive and the promise of the server that it will come out any minute ..this happened several times ...no follow up on drinks .. Food- Mom and her husband had crabcakes..said they were good but not as good as Mike's which charges less and has more lump meat . Wife had top sirloin which she said was good and was cooked to temp. I had a filet which if I'd of asked how much it was I wouldn't have chose it ..80.00 for a 10oz filet is absurd ..especially since it was not butterflied as I asked..something the server couldn't explain ...and was not to temp ..I have had much better filets in NYC at high end steakhouses for 20 dollars less ...I would have sent it back but it took forever to receive in the first place ..absolutely highway robbery to charge that amount .. Sides - Mashed potatoes were ok ..the hot butter corn was awful ..it was burnt ..if that was intended ..they need to reconsider serving it ... My mom was given a butter cake as it was her birthday ..it took forever to receive but was very good ... Don't think we will be back as too many inconsistencies. read more

This place is AMAZING!!! I rarely ever give 5 but they absolutely earned it. It's situated at a marina and has beautiful views of Lake Ramsey. The outdoor seating is very casual whereas the inside dining room definitely looks a lot more formal. We sat indoors and were quite comfortable. Josh was our server. He was awesome, very attentive, but still gave us space to enjoy the experience. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered suggestions which were all spot on. The new GM Doc also walked around greeted the guest, as well as Brian the head Chef. Both very friendly and personable. They took the time to ask your name and made a real effort to get to know you. You definitely felt like you were dining with family. As far as food, we got the pecan smoked wings as our starter. Absolutely delicious. The wood smoked flavor really came through. For my main I got the lobster and shrimp stuffed flounder. It came with green beans and whipped potatoes. The sides were beyond good. Both well seasoned and flavorful. My fish was just ok. A tad dry, but still good. Everything came out of the kitchen fast and hot. We completed our meal with the peanut butter pie. Decadent and rich! Probably the best dessert I've had all season. I believe it's a seasonal dessert, but it definitely deserves a permanent place on the menu. There is absolutely something special about this place. Went to dinner at Harper's. Excellent food, the Chef cane put and talked to us which was so nice. Very friendly, good service. The salmon was perfect! Good Brussel sprouts. Steak was cooked perfectly. Great burgers. Seven people in our party and everyone loved the food. So nice to see a local Restaurant with good food. Loved the cream puff with blueberries. Birhtday reservation sat in the outside bar patio area, waited 17min before we were approved with only one menu and there was three of us! Asked for more they never came, the Bartender finally walked over Lea asked her for (3) waters, (1) coke and a glass of Cab.. she returned with water and nothing else. When I finally asked someone else to help they went to her, she returned said sorry I forgot your wine, but do you want to put in a food order yes we said filet mignon but was told they have no steaks other then a $160 tomahawk steak!! I asked her what she recommended she said the chicken biscuit is really good, it arrived. The chicken was ever cooked and dry, it came with french fries, that were cold, and the biscuit that it was on was so dry from Flower it was an edible it was supposed to come with Caramelized peaches but instead it was playing with just shredded lettuce and one slice of hard non ripe tomato!! She never came back to check on us ask about the food or refill our water. We never got out coke. Finally couldn't take anymore service and food was so bad we hand to walk up to another Person and ask for a check as no one in 1.5 hrs came back to our table! Then the young lady who was trying to help us pay and leave lost our credit card !! What a complete disaster!! Horrible food and even worse service!! New place with nice layout and upscale furniture inside. Small bar at the entry with outdoor seating under tent for winter. View of Ramsay Lake boats out over the marina. Windows are west facing. Food is quite good. We had the brunch menu: salmons scramble is first rate, breakfast burger is delish. Server Aileen is great. Attentive but not hurrying or hovering. And informed. She knew about docking for water arrivals. They have a few slips right in front of Ramsay lake. But you have to pass under a narrow bridge with an airdraft that looks about 13' max (marker only goes to 10' on the resto side). They have slips on the Selby Bay side and you have to walk over but the street isn't that busy. I didn't see those slips. read more

Let me start by saying the food is excellent. The way we were treated was not. My husband and I popped in on a Saturday, first time here, grabbing a late lunch/early dinner. We tried calling for a reservation but no one picked up (we called a few times). We decided to wing it and walked up the stairs to the bar/porch area. I asked if we could sit at an empty table, and was told no we could not, and to sit at the bar. We did, with the explanation that they were short staffed and about to start dinner. No biggie. Then a family came up, and the General Manager, who told us we could not sit at the table due to staffing, gave it to the family. This would also not be a big deal if they had a policy where 2 people could not sit at tables, but there was a couple sitting at the table next to them. That couple then left, and I asked if we could sit at the table. The GM then came and leaned over the back of my barstool, put her face so much into my own that I had to lean back, and started rapidly spewing excuses about someone being sick, then not knowing that the bartender would be then, who we ordered food and drink from and was there the entire time, etc. She continued to be bossy about the table vs the bar. I finally asked could we please sit at the table, and she reluctantly let us. She then loudly demanded to know if we had ordered food yet. I'm sure she was stressed out and possibly short staffed, but there were 4 groups seated in the area, and I counted at least 4 staff. read more

Restaurant is loud making conversation a bit challenging. Waiters semi gallop about instead of simply walking. Waiter was fine but he rushed each course. Asked if we were interested in dessert while we were halfway through entree. Crabcakes were good. No filler. Other items were fairly bland and the asparagus was less than fresh. Chocolate cake dessert was drowning in what I think was creme fraiche. Hopefully things will settle down. We dined here on a weekday evening. We had a reservation and we were promptly seated. The staff seemed professional and efficient. Our server, John was cordial, seemed to be familiar with the menu and showed up enough during our stay without being overbearing. The acoustics in the restaurant are terrible. As others have said, peoples voices are amplified thus it's loud in the restaurant. We stared with the Baked Brie and a couple of adult beverages, an orange crush and a mojito. The Brie was delicious and the beverages were refreshing. We ordered their Daily Special. A three course meal advertised for $37 per person. One had the house salad, the other had the cream of crab asparagus soup (I'm not an asparagus eater, but this soup was really good). We had the trout parmesan over mashed potato's and the flank steak with rice. The trout serving was ample. The flank steak portion was small and on the tough side. We both had crème brûlée for dessert. The crème cream brûlée is served in a small cast iron skillet. One skillet was easily enough to be shared by two or more people. The create brûlée was rich thick like pudding. The Executive Chef, Brain Thornton was walking around the restaurant, helping out the servers, busing tables and chatting with the patrons. Apparently there is a service fee when one pays with a credit card. Who knew? Overall it was a pleasurable dining experience. We would probably eat here again. read more

We were there for the Tuesday Local's Night special 3-course meal. It was our first time. Crab cake, crab soup, apple fritter, creme brûlée were phenomenal. Service was on point and ambiance was nice. The closer to sit to the bar the brighter the lighting was. Too much of a contrast in lighting, in my opinion. The noise level was loud enough, even though the restaurant was not crowded. Can't imagine the noise level when it is full. What we didn't like was the slow roasted pork that was not very tender and was very sweet with the sauce added on top. Also the mash potato that was served with crab cake had a sour note. Our server couldn't explain why mash potato is sour. With the special price for Local's night fixed price dinner, it was more affordable. What is intriguing is that the place offers Pho! Got to give the chef kudos for his eclectic menu. read more

The service was wonderful, we were well tended to and everyone was so nice and celebratory - - even after I brought a balloon bouquet to complicate the situation! The food was incredible!
